I just now made the connection, I sort of like it? It always seemed weird that the hunters are not given any de jure authority to follow, but I suppose it makes enough sense for me to accept. I realized it when I needed to give a name to someone who had offered a job, and I realized that they would just be Mr. Johnson.

The rules of shadowrun still apply here, of course:

Geek the Mage
Never Trust the Johnson
Never Cut a Deal with a Dragon
My excitement for this game has doubled for reasons that will become clear once we start. I hope you like entrenched positions on the realities of modern conflict, folks: Yang's got plenty.
@Kit N Kat

You're looking good, Kit! Go ahead and post it, I'm a big fan.

@Krayzikk

I look forward to reading it when it's done.

I am beginning to regret letting non-Beacon graduates through, though I think it'll be good in the long run. It's just making my opening post less than easy.

I think, with the broad catalog of characters, I'm going to try something different: I'm going to put out ~three possible places for your characters to start, jobs that hired hunters on various authorities, which will of course all tie quickly together. Feel free to slot in wherever you like, and once we get one or two posting cycles the action will spark off. My original plan was to have a somewhat faster start, but I think this will work better in the long run.

tl;dr, you'll have several different opportunities to hop into the plot, choose whichever you like, hopefully there will be a place for everyone.

EDIT: Hunters are seeming more and more like Shadowrunners to me as I write. I like this thematic connection.
Alright: @Zarkun@Thundercrash

You're good to go! Throw your sheets in the Characters tab, and get ready for the opening post!

I am now officially closing applications to anyone who has not posted in the thread. @Kit N Kat and @Krayzikk, try and get your sheets all finished and ready to go by go time, though I'll not stop you if it takes you a little bit after the first post, so long as you don't wait too long and get left behind.
100% interested.
@Kit N Kat

GAH! I MISSED YOUR SHEET. Please forgive me, I completely missed it, I am so sorry. I just finished reading through it. Get a history written up and drop it in the character tab in the next ~6 hours and you'll be good to join! I'm really really really sorry, again.
@Onarax

Maybe they just jumped out at me, don't fret. I usually dislike people straying from a traditional prose style, but like I said that's just me. They were executed fine, I'm not asking you to change anything if you don't want to.

Also! I am going to be shooting for 9pm EST for the first post. I need to get stuff sorted out, and it's going to be fucking long with all these characters. Anyways, I'll keep everyone posted if things change.
@Plank Sinatra @Write

Both characters are accepted! I look forward to getting some Atlas-shrugged-tier objectivism from Noel, and for some reason Brennan is reminding me of Lamont Cranston. I also want to commend you for fitting more mecha references into one weapon than I would have thought possible. I'd tell him to shoot for the top with hard work and guts, but then I'd be ignoring all the other spice there. I might ask you to turn the weapon's capabilities down a little: my willingness to accept weird engineering realities only stretches so far, though I do like the concept. I leave fine tuning in your hands.

@Onarax
I really like the idea of changing the fundamental properties of dust with your semblance, and your character is really fun to boot! I look forward to working that into the plot, I've already got loads of ideas you're probably not going to like. Anyways, accepted! If you could tone down the strikethroughs, I think I'd appreciate it, but that's a personal thing and not really necessary.

I look forward to seeing @Krayzikk's sheet.

One general note, everyone, for my own sanity, I'm going to put down some definitions just so everyone is on the same page. Clarity of language is important, and we're writing about soldiers.

Tactics: The science and art of organizing military resources, and the techniques for using said resources in combat situations.
Strategy:"a comprehensive way to try to pursue political ends, including the threat or actual use of force, in a dialectic of wills"
Operations: The runty middle child between tactics and strategy. Series of smaller engagements to achieve singular goals pursuant to the demands of strategy, only really applicable in 19th century warfare and onwards, and therefore in Remnant.

Clip: Something that puts cartridges into magazines
Magazine: Something that feeds cartridges into the chamber of firearms
Bullet: The actual projectile of a weapon
Cartridge: The full package of propellant and bullet, including primer and case if necessary

For additional clarity, until mentioned otherwise, every nation organizes its military like real-world NATO. It's a corner-cut, but it really doesn't matter much and will just make dealing with ranked individuals and groups of soldiers easier.
If everything goes well, I'll be in my apartment in a few hours. Once I'm there, I'll be able to sit down, look over sheets, and get ready writing the opening post. Sorry for the delay, I had to crash with a friend last night.

On the topic of opening post: I was planning on taking some minor creative liberty about where you all will start, but if you want to have your character in a particular situation shoot me a PM, we can work some stuff out, maybe get a little prequel plot sorted out.
@Plank Sinatra

Oh no no, don't get me wrong: I'm overjoyed to have you aboard, I had just thought you'd lost interest. I cannot wait to read your characters, it'll be good to have a more diverse roster.
