Hey, guys, interested in joining. However, I have to ask a question: How can the Dragons be permanently defeated without someone absorbing their souls? On second thought, nevermind; I won't have the time to join at present, but I would still like an answer to my question.
Hey! If you are interested, we do have some spaces open as some people have dropped out. The story hasn't advanced much either. As for the dragons, myself and the co-GMs have an idea, but it's a surprise. :)

Hmm, would it be possible to try and take over Skyrim yourself?

The group is small, and his little to no influene, so that idea seems unlikely at this moment in time.

Ah, understood. I wanted to oust both the Imperials or Stormcloaks from Skyrim, and rule over it as High King. However, if that isn't possible, well, it's not possible.

I share that wish, especially in the games. However one would have to side with one or the other. If you were male, and of a certain race. Then siding with the imperials and marrying the Jarl of solitude; Elsif would gain you the throne. The alternative. Siding with Stormcloaks and gaining support of as many Jarls as possible, and taking the throne through the Kingsmoot as it is based on a majority vote. And then there is always underhand tactics such as assassination, at the right time. However such a coarse of action may rekindle a civil war. I've put a bit of thought into this as you can see.

Dangit all. Hmm, is economic domination through trade possible, or, failing that, discovering Gunpowder?

Creating a monopoly is not impossible, but to the point of becoming a ruler through it? No. That seems very unlikely, for instance. You'd want to do trade with the elves, especially the Aldemreri dominion, as they have an incredible amount of wealth and land behind them thanks to their invasion. Doing so would mean sacrificing all hope of trading with much of Skyrim. As well as any land the Aldemri dominion decides to invade. And even then, you'd have to have one hell of a mind for business, being the Dragonborn doesn't exactly offer that, and gaining the actual money, advisors, influence (in the business's world) and everything else, could be both time consuming and borderline impossible. Also, if you're anything but a high elf, then time is limited. And there's always the threat of the Aldemreri dominion coming crashing down on skyrim. Which is bad for business. Also. Gunpowder is slightly inconsequential due to magic. Even then you'd need to have skill to both find and then make it. The very first instances of the rifle were shocking, and came about in Portugal in the 13th century I believe. Guns weren't widely used until 3 centuries later. Then there training, needing troops, cost of production etc. So... Sorry but they also seem unlikely.

Dangit, several very good friends of mine IRL side with the Imperials, but, well, I can't bring myself to do the same, except in my own Skyrim videogame. Guess I'll just leave this game's version of Skyrim to languish in darkness, then. Sorry for wasting your time.

How exactly do you pronounce "Faire Agarwen"? (Fay-RE) etc.

Well the name in french is pretty much pronounced like the word 'Fair', but in Irish its like 'fi-RE'. Not sure what it would be in this though, Pirouette's choice I'd guess. I've always thought of it like 'fay-RE' when reading posts.

Okay I can finally answer that question. I always thought of it as "Fair" in my head but I did a little research and discovered that "Fair-ay" might fit the language better. Falmer is very close to the other Elvish languages (called Ayleidoon) of the Elder Scrolls universe. The only instance of an "e" following a words is in this word here: Umarile which is pronounced as "OOH-ma-rill-ay", and seeing as the last syllable is the stand alone "e", it makes sense. Agarwen is easy "Ah-gar-wen"

That's pretty clever and I wish I would have thought of that. Well a vote, then? Lore-friendly (Fair-ay) version and the character friendly version (Fair).

I think Fair just sounds better - otherwise, every time someone says it, I'll just thinks of an actual fairy. I get side-tracked like that a lot XD

That makes me think about the accent our characters use... Would there be any confinement to a certain accent, or will our characters be allowed to use whatever accent we would want them to? For example, the only accent that crosses my mind for Thorin is Shakespearean. :P I just can't see him speaking American(which I found utterly out of place in a fantasy universe) or the Nord broken English.

To me, he sounds like Richard Armitage's Thorin. Due to the language I use for both Roze and Leo, I imagine them to have American accents most of the time - but then I force myself to give them the traditional English accent, as it's far more likely in that universe. Niko has the same accent as Leo (Although a Nord, he grew up in Cyrodiil.) In fact, for most, I just apply the accents granted in the game to the characters.

Yea "Fair-EE" just doesn't sound right. So I'll probably still think of it as "Fair". And on the topic of accents, Faire would definitely have one. But I leave that to your interpretation.
