Nakalla Village

T- 9:20am | Saturday |

The sun had come out, villager's were at rest and only a few were willingly enough to go outside and farm. Usual Saturday's for the calm village was simple quietness. Children lingered and adult's rested. The birds flapped and a moderate wind came by. It was sunny and there were barely any clouds near the Nakalla Village. The convenient store was at it's highest peak of costumers today, usually 3 or 6 resident's would come by and stay there for a while. Though the elder's are full of doubt, a few residents had moved into Nakalla and even as the village grows the Elderly worry of the urbanization of Nakalla and fear the pandemic of pollution. The resident's also fear the lower age of there crops. As the population increase's everything else will decrease. Though, hopefully the town won't become large as they expect.

Kukauro

She was at the edge of the forest, sitting on the elevated platform that was man made. Only two miles away from her house she had decided to use her time to investigate the sudden increase of villagers. Jumping off of the platform she begins her walk towards the convenient store to buy some Coke whilst she investigates. After a few minute's of walking she enters the...unconditioned room, " Ahhhhh. Noka-San! Why is there no air! " She pouts as she stomps in. She walks towards the 'clear-refrigerator ' and grabs her daily drink, Noka-San snickers at her, " Whaaaaat!!! " She asks Noka-San, pouting at him again as she hands 100¥ towards Noka-San. He has a scrunched up face as he sniffs the air, " Grrr! " She growls turning, grabbing the coke from his hand and without taking the change or receipt she bursts out of the store.

Naito woke up with the sun bursting through the circular window across from her bed. She felt exhausted.

Aaaah....What time is it? she wondered, rolling over to look at her clock. When she heard a thunk.

She looked over down at the floor and saw a book.

Oh yeah, that's right. I stayed up late reading my book.
She peered over at her alarm clock.
9:31 AM

Oh jeez, already?!

Naito quickly got up and got dressed, going downstairs past the main housing area and into the tea shop.

"Naito! You're one minute late! Get to work" her father sternly said to her.

"Forgive me, Father," she said. Her father nodded to her.

"It's alright, just begin working."

Naito nodded. That's probably all they would say for the day to each other. She began setting up tea sets and brewing tea.

Right as Naito came flying downstairs, Akiko (or as most knew the young lady, Satoshi) came walking right in. Her muddied boots, thankfully, were deposited by the doorway for the fifth day in a row now; compared to most weeks, this was a large success on Akiko's part for etiquette.

"Ohayo-u!" Akiko chimed as she made a very slight, quick bow, before fumbling with her bra (which was thankfully under a pair of tanks). After some struggle, she managed to procure a list and roll of bills to pay for the matcha and adzuki beans; the former was per her mother's request during the hot days, and the latter was a component of making a nice shaved-ice snack she usually shared with the other kids.

Despite her brackish scent that told the two of her morning job, it was a surprise that today, neither sweat nor brine managed to stain the ink of the pen. Not that there was any need to decipher the chicken-scratch writing; the order, unless it was a holiday, was almost always the same.

"The usual, please," Akiko chimed, before handing the wads of paper to Naito.

"Obshika-san," Akiko started as she waited for her packages, "does your daughter need any more tutoring?"

Naito looked over the papers, before heading into the back to grab what was needed.

Her father, meanwhile, turned to Akiko.

"No, thank you. I think she is...tolerable with her learning at the moment."

Naito came back with the packages, handing them to Akiko. She smiled at the girl.

Akiko then produced another roll from the other cup of her bra.

"Can I borrow your daughter then? I'm planning on taking the older and younger kids to the forest to cool off upstream. If there's anything you want, I'll bring something back for you..."

She then placed it lightly on the counter.

"...unless you find this enough."

Her father stared back at Akiko.

"Naito, you're off for the day," he told his daughter.

Naito smirked. She bowed to her father, nodding a thanks.

She turned to Akiko, grateful to be off of work for the day.

Akiko made a much deeper bow towards Obshika, and left the money on the table. She waited for Naito, but by the time the girl got to the door, Akiko's eyes widened. Within 2 seconds flat, she was at the counter in a rush.

".....aaaaaAAAAIT! I forgot the matcha and adzuki!"

The sudden brake splattered saltwater and sweat all over the father. If there was something Akiko was good at besides being a bumpkin, it was her impressive braking time.

Boring

What is this?

Why are there so many people here?

Litheal stood staring at the crowd around the convenient store, the skin on his face was a ruby red from the spirits he had been drinking, the smell of alcohol loitered around him like a cheap swoozy from a shot bar across the country. those easterners really know how to squeeze every last cent out of you.

The noise wasn't loud, the people knew their place in this town but it was still over the top for Litheal, he sighed straightening up. Walking with careful precision to not look like a total fool he followed the path down to the tea shop where he would find a simple remedy to this hang over. Another small group passed him, the cheerful faces and laughing. we need another plague.

"Oi" He gestured as he entered the tea shop, "the regular!" His voice carried a calm yet slurred demanding tone but nobody ever took it seriously.

"Please?" His voice changing considerably as he found a seat smiling softly.

The sweet sound of birds singing their summer ballads, the fresh air embracing the sun bringing a sense of happiness to the Earth, and the mind rattling snoring escaping from the lips of the young and sleepy headed Cho.

"Cho!" a disgruntled man's voice called from outside the girl's sliding door. "Cho!" her father called again, pounding on the frame of the paper door with his stern fist. Despite it being the weekend, work still had to be completed at the Inokuma farm. Lulu, squirmed her little dog body wiggling it's way from out of the covers and giving Cho a slobbery lick right inside her gaping snore exploding mouth. With that, Cho was instantly awake.

"Ewww Lulu!" she exclaimed, making a face of disgust as she pushed the dog off her sleeping mat with a sense of playfulness. "Cho!" a final warning was yelled before her father walked away and began his own list of tasks that needed to be done. "Phew, good call Lulu, wouldn't want papa to be mad at us on the weekend, then we wouldn't be able to go out!" she patted the dog on the head softly and began with her daily housework. There wouldn't be much farming during the weekend, but cooking and cleaning was an everyday task.

After completing the basic chores Cho headed out towards town, looking for some fun.

The sun shined in the clear blue sky, warming the countryside and stirring its residents. The tranquil sound was interrupted by the low growl of an engine.

Ava made her way down the only road that led into the town. The ride was not particularly pleasant for her, despite the clear air and beautiful day as the one paved road in town wasn't exactly all that "paved". No matter, she just simply weaved her way down the road, trying to avoid the worst of the potholes and bumps in her way. On her bike, two duffel bags were slung like saddle bags and she herself carried a backpack. Today was the day she was officially moving in to Nakalla Village.

She finally arrived in the village itself, passing the convenient store and turning onto a path. As she passed, the various people who were up and about stared, wondering if this stranger was just simply lost. Ignoring this, she approached the path, noticing it was wide enough for a person more so than a car of any kind. "Thank goodness I'm on my bike...." Ava thought to herself as she headed down the path. She arrived in front of her home. It was a small, two story building, with the west side slightly being overgrown with vegetation. While not particularly run down, the house did seem like it hadn't been visited in awhile. Once she got inside, she couldn't help but admit it felt quite cozy inside. It was simplistic with minimal furnishing, with a few windows lighting the place well. Ava sighed, setting down her bags and flopping down in the middle of the living room. "I'm home...." she said aloud.

"that's a carrot." The gentlemen beside Litheal said to himself as he measured the food with his hand. Examining it intently.

"I'm no expert but that is definitely a banana." Litheal sighed into his cup of tea, "What did they put in your tea?"

The man set the banana down, "When did they start making banana's orange?"

Litheal's eyes shifted around the shop curiously trying to decide if this conversation was worth pursuing. To his right sat another man, this man was staring at him like a cow stares at an on coming train. Like a deer in the headlights they stared at each other for the longest time.

"who are you talking to?" The second man asked curiously.

"Who this fellow?" Litheal tilted his head back gesturing at the man behind him.

This puzzled the second man even more. Looking back Litheal understood why, the first man was a hallucination. Well this is awkward.

"Nobody." Litheal muttered finishing his tea. "Have a good day."

Litheal stood up slowly, his lips sealed but his mind racing.

Of all the dumb things you could come up with, it had to be a man mistaking a banana for a carrot? What is wrong with you.

Kukauro | > 9:32am < |

I yawned, my free hand running through my finger's as I look to the sky. Dazed and a bit sweaty...Noka-San was usually like that. He was usually happy and was willing to give me some free food, though I wondered...his place was becoming more bleak each day I come to it. It's becoming an in-pending problem though I imagine that Noka-San is probably slipping away from his finance's or some adultish thing. Soon I was only a mile away from home, I needed to get my backpack filled with my notebooks and other utensil's that can aid me whilst I investigate the urbanization of the school. My clues are still out there, wonder if anyone will find them? I say to myself, no one has currently found one of my mesmerizing notes. Maybe because of the wind it blow's away...but rocks are put on them? Odd it is.

The front door usually wasn't locked, no one locked there door's, I've heard of locksmith's but why do we need locks? Odd. My hand grabs the edge of the door and gently slides the door open as I step inside. Mom and dad aren't home, they are at my sisters house helping them with her far and some kind of persimmons cookie. I hope I get to eat some, sliding off my shoes I walk over to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator door, grabbing the chocolate milk bottle I had saved from yesterday, and the Pocky's that I hadn't eaten yet. My backpack was in the living but I was actually too lazy to explore, I had found everything that I could and I didn't really expect any thing else to be found. History books of this area never foretold anything else....unless, nah. I walk to the living room, my backpack was organized and it had seemed like it was already waiting for me.

Grabbing the straps of the bag I put the Pocky's in my cooled backpack and began drinking my large chocolate milk bottle and started walking. The sun was out, no cloud's were near...it was going to be a good day.

With Naito and her goods in tow, Akiko made her way to Kukauro's house while chattering about the progress of her labors this morning.

"Hey, Naito-chan, guess what I tried today? Beets! Mom had a few seeds imported so she could try it out in the garden, but I stole a few and planted them right by the rice! I...hehe...actually have no idea what kinda soil they like though. I wonder if they'll even take hold..."

Subconsciously, Akiko kneaded and prodded Naito's knuckles in consideration.

"I mean, even if I fail, it doesn't matter! My tank's full of hatchlings right now! I'll put in the biggest prawns so they'll have supermassive babies next year! Then I'll be floating in cash! How about that, huh? We can buy our teacher and classmates treats, and maybe I can step up the business to tiger prawns! And then...and then...well...I dunno. I'm pooped outta ideas."

That didn't take too long; they were right in front of Kukauro's house. Akiko's big puppy eyes were looking into Naito's yet again, their faces less than three inches from each other.

"...so...got any ideas for the mountains?"

Her breath was like the ocean. Freaking salty was what it was. Akiko gave a wink.

"I'll let you chew on that. Hello Kukauro-chaaaaaan! Can I kidnap your daughter today?"
