This post is rated D for drunk. I've tried to read what's going on and am super-excited that Jodesia is potentially the bad-boy of Neurope, but ideas like non-human species are beyond me atm. Will address once capable to do so. In my head, wading into the Great War was just opportunism for expansion while it was bigger nations' business, but I'm happy to adjust to what others have written (once I can actually read it). Back to the cider x

I spent a while to think a solution for the clusterfuck which is the Great War plot in our history.

This is basically a mix of WW1 and WW2 into one conflict. Albeit tech-wise it'd be likely closer to WW2.
What do you think?
Did I get things good or you wish to change something about your nation's involvement in this plot/history.

I could see some wars between them. I could see conflict over control of Singapore being a major issue, as well as other Islands in Austronesia. I can see various Islands trading hands between the Han and Malagasy Enterprises through their history. Singapore may have come into Han possession as a result of their most recent war, which really amps up their animosity.

Works for me. Perhaps a few islands that were once owned by one of them gained independence during the Great War and need to be "reminded" of their loyalties? ...Only both nations have different ideas as to who owns that loyalty?

@Willy Vereb Also works for me.

@Willy Vereb that's fine with me. I suppose it's fair to say that the NAU possesses quite a few overseas bases due to the war. NAU is really an masterful expansionist, using every event ever to further expand :)

I imagined more as you adopting a semi isolationist policy to the GW and made a killing from the loans and trade.
Otherwise your army would be busy with the Badlands or so.
You are free to imagine up a different scenario. Just tell it to the involved players.

Thanks for your input but I'm going to exercise my freedom to imagine up a different scenario.

Anyway... @jig @brink_

There wouldn't have been a big NAU presence aside from loans and military advisors. So during the war, would jodesia and franco-Iberia bases have sold or leased military facilities for NAU peacekeepers?

These facilities at the time would've been logistics centers but have gradually turned into full fledged military bases. Most have likely closed as peace has for the most part returned and I could see any remaining as either a boon for said nation as its yet another obstacle for an invader or a point of contention like American bases in Japan. "war is over gtfo!" Ordeal from civilians near the base.

So, from what I've gathered, the belligerents of the Great War were as follows:

Eurasian Confederation

Combatant States

  • Empire of Novogrod
  • Kingdom of Cascadia
  • Middle Kingdom of the Great Han
  • Rijkdom of Jodesia

Affiliate States
  • North American Union
  • Varangian Revolutionary Insurrectionist Front

Central Entente

Combatant States

  • Coalition of Southern Africa
  • Confederate Republic of Oceos
  • Corporate Empire of Malagasy
  • Corporative Federation of Franco-Iberia
  • Kingdom of the Holy Hungarian League

Affiliate States

  • North American Union
  • People's Saharan Protectorate
  • Varangian National-Socialism Movement

I imagine NAU relations to Franco-Iberia to be a fruitful mixture of both cooperation and discord, much like it had been millennia before. Your loans and presence were probably unparalleled by other great powers in the democratic sphere, and as we're currently both somewhere along the leading-edge of neocolonialism and expansionism as well as technological and cultural progression, I see as being part of some close-knit Atlantic international committee. However, your cooperation with my greatest threat during the Great War has undoubtedly left some manner of a sour taste in the Franco-Iberian mouths, and I'm sure you American lot likewise realize that its unethical and ultimately impossible for a democracy to impose by force a government over a foreign population without considerable manpower and probably the use of unacceptable methods such as torture.

There's definitely alot of regret from retired leadership from that era for not picking a side.

Cascadia would likley have supported the Han with largely material aid, maybe sending in a submarine taskforce to harass and undermine Malagasy. This would largely have been an action to help open the Great Han to pacific trade by improving relations, while fighting against abhuman sympathizers as an added bonus.

On another note, while it isn't listed in my sheet (yet) @Sigma I feel I should mention Cascadia is enormously urbanized and as I said earlier uses hydroponics to feed it's large population. While this solves the food issue though, with the influx of refugees Cascadia is simply runnig out of land.

@Isotope This would definitely make those relations between our nations cold and rocky. I like it.

@Sigma My old friend, are you still accepting?
I'm semi-tempted to use Japan in this although I shall admit now that I can't really see the map ^^;

Japan is an NPC presently, not a player.

@ClocktowerEchosJapan is an NPC, but personally I'm totally fine retconning that. Me and Nev were planning an NPC confederation there but if Nev is ok with it and hasn't starting writing any posts concerning japan I don't see why you cant grab the nation.

Nonono, it's an NPC so you can play Japan, probably. You could retcon it easily was my point so long as Sigma approves.

@ClocktowerEchosWhoa, hold up.

I'm saying there is a VERY high likelihood you'll get the nation with 100% creative control.

Me and Nev only added that NPC a few days ago lol, but I'd like Nev to OK it too since we both ha plans in Japan.
