(@Immortius @IncredibleBee @Tancuras @Blight Bug @Ryougu @Cu Chulainn @Melandrach)

Everything here will be updated as we go along.

Rules
Keep IC drama in the IC, and keep the OOC drama to PMs.
Also don't act hostile to someone just because you two had bad experiences. This goes with the rule above.
No posts of characters doing the "sideways dance", if you catch my drift. Make it implied and occur offscreen if it's a must. And actually look at the character's ages, I don't want an adult doing it with a thirteen-year-old even offscreen.
Please give your character personality flaws. I don't want any Mary Sues in this RP.
Also don't make them extremely powerful either. For mages, either start with someone who just started their magical training or only know up to intermediate spells. Don't make spells that can completely nuke enemies right off the bat, which is what I'm saying.
I'm looking for decent grammar that can be comprehended and at least a paragraph per post. That's three sentences at the very least.
Only one primary class and up to two secondary classes for each character.
No godmodding, autohitting, puppeting, or bunnying.
Don't force me to make new rules.
Follow standard Roleplayer Guild rules.
And most importantly, have fun.

Le Map and Regions

(Pardon this MSPaint made map. Will be updated.)

Ah, the Terra continent. Slightly larger than real-life Australia and currently in an era and yet people can't shoot stuff other than arrows yet, this continent is home to four nations.

Mystica
Mystica boasts the greatest magical and academic education. A lot of powerful mages and influential scholars come from this country, as well as access to the more mineral rich side of the Adamentum Mountain Range. The nation is currently being lead by King Francis Aurum, of the Aurum royal line.

Inlustris
Inlustris is the center of trade for the continent, owing to its many rivers. There is steady irrigation, allowing for greater agriculture than any other continent.

Luminus
The majority of the population of Luminus is difficult to reach without traveling by boat or taking a path east of the Inlustris capital, thanks to its mountain range. As a result, the capital of Luminus has been protected for many centuries.

Solisa
Solisa is well-known for its many mines, most particularly in the western part of the country. It was once a fairly stable nation, ruled by a fair king from the Argentum royal line known as King Felicis Argentum. However, the king was violently overthrown by the sorcerer Malum and his many followers and minions.

NPCs (all controlled by me)
More will be added as more NPCs are met
King Francis Aurum
The human king of Mystica. He is known as one of the mages in the royal family. According to the nobles and his family, he spends most of his time studying and dealing in foreign affairs. Due to a recent attack on Felictate Village by Malum, he is preparing as he begins to declare war on Solisa.

Malum Nes
The newest leader of Solisa, Malum is an elven sorcerer who seems to have malicious intentions, though his motives are currently unknown. Malum is known to use magic that is internationally illegal on the Terra continent, except for in Solisa where it was recently legalized.

Types of Magic

There can't be a fantasy setting without MAAAAAGIIIC.
There are three forms of magic, white, black, and forbidden.

White Magic
White magic centers around healing and helping your teammates performance, such as using white magic to help allies hit harder or take more hits easily. White mages are capable of a few holy spells, but only one offensive white spell is powerful, Genesis, and it's a spell very few are high level enough to be able to use. White mages aren't always pure and good, they can be just as potentially malevolent as any other class. This magic is mostly associated with the element of light.

Black Magic
Black magic covers a lot more offensive spells than white magic. Not to be confused with forbidden magic, though both used to be the same category before forbidden magic got its own category. This has the most elements associated with it, which are fire, water, ice, air, lightning, darkness (though less so than forbidden magic), earth, nature, and metal. Typically there is specialization of one or two types of these elements, though jack-of-all-trades black mages may utilize weak spells with one intermediate spell of each element.

Forbidden Magic
Magic that has been internationally outlawed to either being to harmful to life, inhumane, or considered immoral. Types of magic that fall under this category include necromancy, spells meant to put targets in relentless agony, spells that turn living beings into a nonliving substance (i.e. stone), and spells that create disease. However, forbidden magic has been recently legalized in Solisa. Forbidden magic is heavily associated with the element of darkness, though there are a few spells classified as different elements as well.

The CS isn't done yet, mostly due to the fact I'm typing up information for the primary and secondary classes and the races. Expect it to be up by tomorrow.

Clerics would typically fall under the white magic variant of mages, as there are white mages that work as priests and other religious positions, though not all do.

So what's the tech level in the setting? 8th century Europe? How big is the continent? Are there other continents? Are there any other kingdoms? Would our characters be knowledgeable about any history and how far back does the history go?

Also interested. I want to know these things though because they're relevant to the character.

Sorry @KOGaming, it was late at night and my sleepy mind couldn't come up with everything. The technology level in this setting around in that of the Middle Ages in the real world, with one main difference being that gunpowder hasn't been invented yet. As for the size of the Terra continent, it's slightly larger than real-world Australia. I'll be sure to edit the relevant details into the OP later.

@Immortius, that's fine. Just try to post as much as possible and try not to leave interactions with other characters hanging and leave them stuck as a result.

Races look pretty neat. I'll probably roll a Warrior Enchanter, since that's the closest I'll get to being a paladin. That in mind, what is the religion of the world? Are there different sorts of gods, one god that puts itself out as the one true god, etc?

Also, are half elves okay?

Wow, me from last night was really tired. Looks like I got some worldbuilding to do. But basically, there is one supreme deity known as Princepi who is said to have created the whole world, various demigods beneath him who stands for various things (i.e. the demigod of adventure and discover Ventura), and angels beneath them.

And yes, half-elves are fine, but it either has to have mostly traits of an elf or that of their other parent's species. This goes for hybrids except for half-dragons, which are pretty much technically their own race anyways.

@UmbreonRogue Alright, neat. I'm probably just going to have the other half be Human, for simplicity's sake. I also might be making a worshiper of one of the generic lawful good gods, if anything.

As an aside question, can mages that specialize in summoning things fit in on this, or would that be too iffy for this system?

I'm thinking that mages can have spells that can summon minions pertaining to their element, like the aforementioned angels for white mages or thunderbirds for black mages that specialize in the lightning elements. Typically these summoning spells range from intermediate to advanced.

So the idea of an agile warrior who uses some ranged attacks just came to me. He will be dual wielding spears, with one of them being short and throwable. He also wears medium sized armor to mix mobility with durability. Would that work for warrior classes?

Also, are none-mages able to learn some sort of magic later on? For example, can a warrior learn some white magic in order to be similar to a fantasy paladin? Or maybe a stealth character could also learn some white magic and become a fantasy bard? (which raises the question, could instruments work as a magic focus, like wands and staves?) Of course, this is assuming later as they develop, if anything, and probably not right off the bat.

Sorry for all the questions, btw!

Name: Rathal Venberos

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Race: Elf

Primary Class: None

Secondary Class: Alchemist / Forager

Appearance: Rathal could be described in the likeness of a mountain ash, with spindly limbs and all the grace of the tree shifting in the wind. He wears light, natural colors, such as whites and greens and browns, and his limp, pale hair is kept shaved on either side of his head and long on top, often tied back in a high tail. His eyes are like gently rolling hills of verdant, wide and bright with innocence, and his features are small, plump and youthful.

Personality: Rathal is relentlessly kind, eager to help those in need. Empathetic and forgiving, even if he were to anger, the emotions would die in timidity. Yielding to a fault, he will almost always accommodate the will of others, so long as it does not directly endanger his self for those he cares for. As an elf, he worships nature, respecting the land above all else, and, consequently, the disrespect of the land is one of the few things that will anger him. Rathal is somewhat of a pacifist, not being skilled in the sword nor the bow, and becomes quickly helpless in violent confrontations.

Backstory: TBD

Weapons: Though more as a tool than a weapon, Rathal carries a four-inch steel dagger.

@Cu Chulainn, I'll allow very limited magic for non-mages, so a few weak spells are permissible for non-mages as long as they don't learn anymore than that. In your case, the primary thing should still be developing your skills as a warrior.

@Tancuras, I would prefer it if you place it in the characters tab. This seems like a civilian character, so I made a clause at the character sheet accommodating for that at the beginning of the RP, but please decide on a primary class for your character within five pages if you plan him to be one of the main characters for the RP. I'll even do something that might help veer Rathal towards the path of that class if you so desire. But this seems fine, so accepted. Just be sure to repost this to the character tab.

EDIT: The document detailing Princepi and the demigods are available!

@UmbreonRogue Yep, I just put it here for your approval first. I can give him a primary for sure, just wasn't sure if it was necessary. If you want to help nudge him towards being more oriented towards violence feel free!

It doesn't necessarily have to be one of the violent classes, though if that's what you're planning for your character I'm happy to help. Rathal could be a white mage as a nonviolent alternative, as white magic is mostly centered around healing with optional holy spells.

Posting this here for approval. Will move to the Character section when approved

EDIT: Clarified a few things in his personality. In regards to his backstory, more of it will be revealed as time goes on. I can PM the details if that would also help in terms of plot hooks and character storylines, and he was indeed there when Solisa was overthrown.

@Immortius, yes, I plan to hook the characters into the main conflict, mostly by having the RP start at a tavern in Oceanum Port and the tavernkeep mentioning that the king of Mystica is about to declare war on Solisa.

@Cu Chulainn, the character is looking good! Go ahead and post it over at the character tab. As for PMing the details, I would appreciate it so we can decide on said plot hooks and character development before the RP starts.
