I do believe that there are a varirty of pirates off the coast of the New World... I know for a fact that a few of them are Vampires and Dark Elves, both of whom all the party would naturally hate for one reason or another. Granted surviving a pirate attack by either of them would be another thing, but still.

To be fair, it doesn't have to be an outright attack or raiding threat... A storm that requires -everyone- on board to do something to keep the ship from being destroyed would be just as solid.
