Bio:

Two years at the Andorian War College. Six years at the Vulcan Science Academy. Two years at the University of Alpha Centauri. Nearly a century of scavenging, tinkering, reverse engineering, and nearly getting herself exiled from the Ba'ku society for her curiosity and inability to be content with the serene, pacifistic agrarian society of the Ba'ku. When the Ba'ku finally joined the Federation, Lorelei was the immediate choice for the first of the nearly immortal race to be sent off into the vast unknowns of the Federation.

If for no other reason than she was one of the very few who wanted to leave, and in no small part because she had already left before--in incidents covered up and kept secret by the Ba'ku elders.

Nearly two centuries of life spent self-teaching herself about any and all technology she could get her hands on, Lorelei hit the ground at top gear when she finally arrived at the University of Alpha Centauri, as a student and minor celebrity: the first of her species to be seen at large by members of the Federation, in her first three months she was hosted by everyone from the Earth Ambassador to the Vulcan Ambassador to the Bolians.

It was the Andorian Ambassador that suggested she apply to the Andorian War College; an institute that went against every pacifist teaching of her native Ba'ku. Yet after the Dominion War, even a Ba'ku could see the virtues of at least knowing about self defense. While she would struggle with many aspects of the Federation's premiere War College, the area of defensive technologies sparked in Lorelei a near obsession in technological escalation. It meant a sudden transfer from the War College to the Vulcan Science Academy, the best technology institute in the Federation. In under a year she was credited by Utopia Planitia for a critical breakthrough in the development of a corbomite transphasic inducer--her name right alongside famous engineering minds Commanders Geordi La Forge and Data on the official Advanced Starship Design Bureau submission for the technology.

It was La Forge who personally sponsored Lorelei's entry into Starfleet Academy from the Vulcan Science Academy. While her first two years were academically forgettable, this had less to do with intellectual failings than it did new obsessions: Earth culture, Star Wars, Dungeons and Dragons, comic books, rock music, anything chili cheese, and the newly restarted Major League Baseball sports league. She was at Fenway Park for the first World Series since the 20th Century. Her class ranking? Laughable.

Following a visit from Commander La Forge, and his CO, Captain Picard, something turned around. Most Academy officials believe La Forge and Picard "talked sense" into the Ba'ku woman; because what followed was one of the most impressive runs in Academy history. The first to beat the Kobayashi Maru by, what the testing Instructor called, "doing Frankenstein surgery to the holographic U.S.S. Enterprise on the fly--she was five steps ahead of anything we threw at her." Of particular note, Cadet Lorelei introduced the very corbomite deflector technology she helped bring from theory to reality at the V.S.A., stumping the Instructors who tried everything to keep the holographic scenario "no-win." They failed, and the for the first time ever in a fair fight, the Cadets won.

Entering her Fourth Year, every Cadet Squadron on the Academy went after Cadet Lorelei. In an unheard of move, the Commandant of Starfleet Academy "assigned" a Cadet a Squadron not of their choosing: Nova Squadron, a once proud squadron fallen on bad years. Lorelei would do much to reverse the trend of recent history and help Nova place 3rd in the Academy War Games. Though she nearly graduated after her 4th year, it was again La Forge and Picard who convinced her to go further, try harder--so she applied to to the Academy's esteemed Advanced Tactical Training program.

The Advanced Tactical Training program's Lead Instructor, Master Chief Eso Rosk, placed Lorelei in the elite A.T.T. Training Squadron Six: "Black Squadron", nicknamed the Jolly Rogers. On her first A.T.T. Cadet Cruise, one of the Jolly Rogers lost their life due to a Rigellian pirate ambush. The incident had a profound affect on Lorelei: she had been standing next to the Cadet who lost his life, his flesh and blood covering her by the time they were both found in the rubble of their Engineering section. It was the first time Lorelei had ever lost someone she considered a friend, and her first taste of death has left her markedly changed. More intense, more serious, and more determined to never fail one of her fellow shipmates again.

Following the graduation of most of Black Squadron, Lorelei was named Cadet Captain by Master Chief Rosk.

Cadet T'eklil Rarr

Academy Major: Science specialization in Borg technology, and Transwarp Theory, with a minor in Engineering.

Bio: Teklil's life hasn't been a perfect one. He was born a half-breed, his father was a human and mother a Klingon. He was given his name after his grandfather's name. When he was five years of age his home world was attacked by a Borg invasion. His life among the Borg isn't documented only that he was given the designation Ten of Eleven.

For twenty years he was in the Borg collective before he was 'liberated'. The liberation happened when the Borg sphere he was on battled the dominion and a starfleet vessel. The starship of the federation was all that was left standing. The sphere was hit hard the drones inside were separated from the collective by the mass damage that was done. Tek was taken from the sphere and was slowly converted back to a 'normal' form. It took a year and a half until he was fully Liberated and was brought into starfleet.

For another year and until his twenty-third birthday he was in starfleet studying engineering, not having to learn much. It was more a formality to send him to the Academy. He has tendencies of highly aggressive actions in times of anger but most of the time he is laid back and pretends to look at things 'logically'. He graduated fast into becoming a cadet, having a high understanding of engineering. Often enough while in the Academy he was treated with mistrust for a variety of reasons. From being part Klingon and still having borg like tech still attached to his head. Many people tend to forget he is half human.

His knowledge of Borg technology and engineering is what speed up his graduation process alone. The only federation officers see what benefits Tek can bring to any ship but the younger generations see him as a Borg with Klingon features.

T'eklil Crew Relations

Captain Lorelei:

Out of the crew, T'eklil got to know Lorelei a bit more than the rest of the crew. Spending a long time working alongside Lorelei as they worked on the engineering systems of the USS Challenger. It's obvious that Lorelei knows more about the Challenger than T'eklil, but he really didn't care if she knew more about the ship. She didn't treat him any differently then anyone else, in turn T'ek trusts Lorelei more than most other Starfleet officers and cadets.

Arthur Locklin:

Not much of between Arthur and T'eklil. Other than his respects Arthur as head of security, other than that T'eklil hasn't gone out of his way to get to know the man.

Reva Tylyr:

For T'eklil he sees Reva as he sees mostly everyone else she was intimidated by him. This was something T'eklill often goes through being intimidated by most people. Reva was no different then anyone else to T'eklil. He accepted this fact that even people on Challenger would see him as a big intimidating freak. Whether or not Reva was intimidated by the fact he has a Klingon Halfling or had Borg like equalities, T'ek never knew. It wasn't something he would ask.

Ayna Nyx

At first T'eklil thought Ayna was like everyone else. She was at first intimidated by him but what suprised T'eklil she started to come around and see he is just a normal individual. She was quite like Lorelei, Ayna was someone T'ek could talk to without worrying about what she thought of him.

Bio:

A veteran of the Battle of Wolf 359 and the Dominion War, one of the most decorated members of Starfleet, commissioned or enlisted. War hero, combat innovator against both the Borg and the Dominion, briefly a prisoner of war held by the Breen until he helps lead a prison break. After the prison break then Chief Rosk is recruited by Starfleet Intelligence to lead a Joint Special Operations Task Force coordinated between Starfleet Intelligence and Starfleet Operations. The JTF was on the front lines of nearly every major battle in the last year of the Dominion War.

Later stationed on the USS Enterprise during the classified Shinzon Incident, commanding the JTF. Shortly after then Senior Chief Rosk is approached on Earth by Vice Admiral Janeway, Chief of Starfleet Operations, and Rear Admiral Tuvok, newly appointed Commandant of Starfleet Academy, about leading a revamped Advanced Tactical Training program. Rosk agrees, resulting in a promotion to Master Chief and the appointment as Command Master Chief of the ATT program. Rosk is the primary architect of the new training program of ATT, and the reorganization of the ATT's Training Squadrons.

Master Chief Rosk takes personal interest in ATT Training Squadron Six, Black Squadron. He feels personally responsible for the intelligence and strategic planning failures that result in the infamous Rigellion Ambush incident and the loss of several Cadets from death and medical discharge. The surviving Cadets of Black Squadron instead credit him for preparing them to survive at all, despite their losses, publicly appearing at Master Chief's Inquiry Board of the incident, an unusual move allowed by presiding Flag Officer of the Inquiry, Vice Admiral Janeway.

Master Chief Rosk is a demanding, blunt, no nonsense leader. Not a yeller, but far from a hugger, either. He talked new Black Squad Cadet Captain into staying with the program after the incident, simply informing her, "You can't leave, Cadet, you have to finish what we started." A living legend that every Cadet in the Academy, let alone those in the ATT, instantly respect. It's advised to keep out of the Master Chief's doghouse, though he is often hardest on those he thinks highest of, including his incredibly demanding approach to Black Squad, and in particular their current leader, Cadet Lorelei.

Appearance:

Ayna is a young African-American/Caucasian biracial woman born from Earth. Her height is about 5'11" and her weight is about 140 lbs. She has an athletic body build from training at the Starfleet Academy, and has a six pack in her stomach area. She is skinny and her hair is a very dark brown to the point where it could easily be mistaken for a black color. Ayna's eye color is a brown as well, and her skin color is somewhat a light brown.

Bio:

Ayna always loved the idea of becoming a Starfleet officer. Exploring galaxies, uncovering unknown planets, and the best of the all, the universe itself always appealed to her. She knew she wanted to become a Starfleet officer as soon as she was born, because her father was an Starfleet captain himself. Her father, Terrence Nyx, was the captain of an Sovereign class, Imperial sub-class, known as the U.S.S. Paragon-B.

Ayna's father met his wife, Joanna Rane, when he was in Starfleet Academy. She was just a normal woman, but and they both had different tastes, she wasn't interested in the idea of space exploration, meanwhile Ayna's father loved the idea of discovery. Somehow they were still attracted to each other, and got married before Terrence went off to become a first officer aboard the U.S.S. Trailblazer, and a few months later once Terrence was able to come home, they both knew they wanted children.

And that's how Ayna, and her younger brother, Nathan was born. Just like their parents, Ayna and Nathan had different ideas of what they wanted in life. Ayna felt the need to explore just like her father, and Nathan had just wanted a normal life on Earth. Unlike most siblings when they interact, Ayna and Nathan got along pretty easily. They loved to wrestle, but since Ayna was bigger, she'd always win the play-fight. Her father was soon promoted to Captain of the U.S.S. Paragon, NX-96889-B. The Paragon, hence the NX, was a experimental prototype ship for the Paragon class. It was suppose to be the next advanced starship Starfleet, made to multi-task deep exploration, advanced tactical abilities, and the abilities of a science vessel all at once.

Ayna realized right then and there, when she learned her father was a captain of a ship. That she was going to be serious about her dream, to become an Starfleet officer.

And that's when she soon applied for Starfleet Academy after high school, and worked as hard as she could. Learning many things from her father and the adventures he would tell her about, this helped her learn more and ace tests better than she thought, she soon realized she specialized in being a Tactical Starfleet officer, unlike her father, who was originally a Science officer before he became a Captain.

Ayna did decently in ground Holodeck battle encounters, but she was way in better in starship tactics. When she was the 'captain' in starship battle encounter simulations, she would take out the opposing forces, and the times where her ship was going down, she managed to take the enemy down with her. She learned about this in one simulation where three Bird of Preys attacked her in the Holodeck.

Her father approved of her looking forward to becoming a Starfleet officer, but her mother despised the idea of it. Not wanting that type of life of her, this caused Ayna to become a little bit rebellious against her mother and what she wanted for her.

And soon enough, her father gave her the idea of applying for A.T.T., thinking that she was up for it. Of course her mother was not happy with this, but accepted it since she saw the excitement in Ayna's eyes. And she did apply for it.

Master Chief Rosk placed her in A.T.T. Training Squadron 6, the "Jolly Rogers", or more professionally called the Black Squadron. The Squadron was filled with, or at least Ayna thought, elite cadets, and she wasn't sure if she fitted into the Squadron at all with the others. And then they went into the Commandant's Cup.

She was completely nervous for the Commandant's Cup, and thought she would cause the Squadron to fail completely. However she and the rest of Squadron 6 had beaten every other Squadron, including Admiral Tuvok's AND Chief Mattox's Squadrons. She couldn't help but mouth off to her father and mother about her Squadron's accomplishments.

And apparently they were ready for an actual mission, in the U.S.S. Challenger, which Ayna practically drooled over it's capabilities even though it was such a small ship compared to Cruisers and Science Vessels. They were going to investigate pirate activity.

Once they fought the pirates, Ayna thought they had the situation in control. Until a loud explosion filled her with fear. She suddenly felt herself get thrown out of her seat, and felt blood trickle down the side of her head, and her shoulder felt like it was burning from the pain.

They were able to beat the many pirates that attacked them. But not without casualties, and many injured cadets. She wasn't prepared for something this tragic to happen so quick, and she started rethinking her choices of joining Starfleet. She didn't know the dead cadet that well, but she could only feel so horrible inside knowing the impact on that cadet's family, and on the cadets that were friends with the cadet. Not to mention, a Supervising Officer died in the process as well. Two casualties; so quickly, once Ayna was patched up and went back home, she cried into her mother's arms. But she had decided to stay in Starfleet, she had told herself things like that could happen, right?

Most of the Squadron had graduated, turning into a skeleton of a team. The original Cadet Captain and Cadet First Officer were some of the cadets who graduated, and Ayna was promoted to Cadet First Officer.

Relations:

Cadet Captain Lorelei

Ayna trusts everyone on her squad, even the liberated Borg-Klingon, but of course, Ayna trusted her friend, and now new captain, Lorelei. They both had been around since before the incident that killed two people on the Challenger. Lorelei always seemed like she was open for talking about Ayna's, or anyone else's problems. Nor can she also figure out when Ayna's stressed, angered, saddened, or when something is just not right about her.

Ayna is not the type of person that likes to admit how she feels on situations, she practically is (attempts to be) a Vulcan. But if something had ever felt wrong, she'd come to Lorelei, even if she hated to do so. And if something was wrong for Lorelei, she'd at least attempt to do the same for her, even though she isn't good with emotional things. Ayna wouldn't chose anyone else to be her Captain.

Cadet T'eklil Rarr

A Klingon, that was once liberated Borg. At first, even though Ayna hated to admit it, she was very terrified of T'ek, even though she knew that the Starfleet Academy wouldn't accept him if they knew he was a threat. It wasn't even the fact that he was a Klingon, she had nothing against the race, after all the Klingon and Federation became allies after a while. It's just the half Borg of him, she was startled by the hive-minded melting pot of assimilated life, when her father told her stories of the Borg, she'd have nightmares.

She soon started to get to know him better, and gave him a chance. She then realized he was a great person, and a great Cadet to have on the new team for the U.S.S. Challenger. It wasn't his fault that he was assimilated, so why should she hate him for it?

Master Chief Eso Rosk

Her leader into the battle, she'd follow the man into war at anytime, any place. He could be a strict, intimidating, person, but he cared about every cadet on the Challenger. And he was hard on them, because they were the best Squadron in the Academy. He was her commander, and the second person she trusted out of anyone.

He was a veteran in the Wolf 359 battle, which was enough to get respect from out of her, as soon as she learned things about him, the more loyal she became. He was a legend, at least in her eyes.

Cadet Arthur Locklin

Ayna thinks of Arthur as a friend, or pal. They sort of, or at least she thinks, have a mutual respect for each other. Always teasing around unless something is serious, or just messing with each other in general. She knows she's glad to have a guy like Arthur on the team.

I mean, she wouldn't call him the greatest guy ever though. She feels like she just has to keep him down a notch, just a little bit.

Cadet Reva Tylyr

Ayna wouldn't chose anyone else for the Helm spot, considering Reva cared deeply for starships. Reva seemed like she was be a great pilot, and at that, possibly get them swiftly out of danger if it comes to it. Ayna finds it also a little bit frustrating about how Reva acts towards her, she wasn't sure what Reva thought of her. But she was sure, that Reva thought of Ayna's intellect of starships was inferior. She does not know her well enough to call her a friend, but she can call her an ally.

Cadet Adam Kerrick

Ayna can almost easily get along with anyone in the squadron, but she isn't sure how to feel about Adam. Does she trust him to do his job? Yes. Does she see him as a friend? Is the hard part for her to answer with certainty. She doesn't speak to him much, unless she's serious. Either way, it seems like both of them have no choice but to get along, as their lives could possibly count on it.

Cadet Slazkith

Ayna thought she would never see the day where a Gorn would actually go for a Science major in Starfleet. She likes the way Slazkith is different than how most Gorn are described, and his curiosity also makes her wonder how the big guy thinks.

The only thing she has a problem with is his table manners, the big guy eats like he'll never eat again. But that could be worked on, with help.

Arthur Locklin

Name: Arthur Locklin

Age: 22

Species: Human

Academy Major: Tactical with a minor in Security of Spacecrafts

Appearance: Standing at 6 foot even (about 1.8 meters) tall the boy walks with an air of determination. Locklin's hazel eyes rode the line between cold and tired. Dirty brown hair, carefully, brought over in a comb over so he could feel he still had some sort of personal style. The Marine's may be his life but he would be damned if they took all of his personality. He learned over time to keep his clothing choices as a higher priority then most things in his life. With his past in mind mixed in a pot with a Marine flare, having things in its place was a must. Comb over? Check. The only other thing he used to make him feel more like himself, and not a mindless marine, was his beard. He never grew it out to great lengths but he enjoyed the rugged look it gave him.

I could tell you the story of his younger years. I could tell you about the Locklin family, comprised of Diana, Richard, and Arthur. A father, who would leave his house, day in and day out, in hopes of making the best life for his child. A mother, who wanted nothing more than for her son to attend the Starfleet Academy. Oh how Diana wanted that for him, as she wanted to attend herself. With her shift in priorities being made after the birth of Arthur, that was a dream that was slowly fading away on a page written several years earlier in her life. However, people can go through their whole lives and develop a lifestyle best suited for them. Then, as if they were struck by a bolt of lighting, an event of grandiose proportions hits them and will send lasting waves through their world.

It was the Breen. A fighter had scouted out past the terror happening in San Francisco at the time into their small town. Within mere moments, the town would be sent up in flames. Local shops were torn asunder, Richard's Skimmer repair shop in rubble, and the body count would begin to pile so high it would cast a horrid shade over this whole event. Arthur was only a teenager at this time, but this event was a catalyst in his life that aged his emotions a solid decade in the future. What would you do when watching people fall around you? Hell, the boy watched their next door neighbor Ben get eviscerated in front of his eyes. Fate had picked the survivors that day. Indiscriminate was a perfect choice of word to describe the targeting of that lone fighter.

Where was Richard? Where was Diana? Arthur would panic. Search high and low for his missing parents. Many travesties obviously happened that day. However, the site of his fathers dead body laying in the middle of the road will still haunt him to this day. A grieving mother holding his father's head in her lap. This was the image that would begin to fuel the direction he took with his life. His mother was the spark that started the kindling. The Breen...the Breen acted as a flame thrower. They would set his path ablaze, clearing it for his future in the StarFleet Academy.

Years would follow leading him through the Academies Marine Cadet program. To his classmates, Arthur was described as resolute. He was always the first to rip a comrade off the ground when they fell. Compassion for his fellow Marine was apparent, but so was his realistic nature. Arthur never accepted excuses. When paired into fire teams and partner groups, if any of his companions showed any sign of wavering, or hesitation in stride, he would be first to crack the whip. The age old mantra of, "There is a place for play just as there is a place for work" worked like a light switch within Arthur. When they were on mission, they were on mission and would do anything they could to complete it.

Finally, we reach graduation day. Many years had passed since the fire had been lit in his life to start him on this path. A smiling mother sat in the crowd looking at her baby boy fulfilling not only his dream, but her's too. The Locklin family finally had a place in the Marines. This of course was only the beginning, and even at the beginning he would have some bumps. Starting on graduation day with his assignment. When initial assignments came out he was assigned to head to Cadet Squadron Omega. He was approached by a member of senior leadership telling him that was no longer the case. It would seem that "The Jolly Roger's" at Black squadron had an unanticipated opening. Arthur did not waver at this unplanned event. With an exchange of respects to the officer his life was about to begin.

Relations

Cadet Adam Kerrick

"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". As addressed earlier, when Arthur is switched to work mode he will be lost in his work until he feels the job has been done to his satisfaction. When Adam is around though, it is real easy for him to stay with the switch on relax mode. After putting in the hours with their Squad mates in the Jolly Roger crew, you could find Arthur and Adam pushing their limits wherever they saw fit for the evening. Arthur appreciated having a friend in a personality like Adam. It worked as a great reminder that if he didn't chill out when he could, he might sprout way more grey hairs then any person in their early twenties would care for.

Master Chief Eso Rosk

Being a last minute assignment to the crew he hadn't built up much of rapport with the Master Chief. This, however, did not stop Arthur from being proud to serve on his squadron. A lot can be learned from watching people act around their subordinates. To watch Rosk go to work was similar to witnessing an 67 Camaro SS being kept up over the years in tip top shape. He was tough, decisive in action, a leader/team player that Locklin aspired to be one day. Rosk was the bar that Arthur set for himself to get to, and he would give it his all to jump over it.

Cadet Captain Lorelei

So this was his Commanding officer on this mission? With some time of getting to know Lor while living in the same barracks with his crew, he had to say, she had the makings of a great C.O. When you have the ability to do excellent work on the job and then discuss sports for fun in your off time, that was a win win to Arthur. To top it all off, his bud Adam seemed to know her fairly well from the Academy. That was a good enough recommendation to have for Arthur to let down his guard with her in their off hours. However, something did seem up with her in regards to her wanting to open up. If it is about leisure topics, she had no problem talking, anything more personal and it seemed the conversation would die quick. Arthur didn't really pay to much mind to this though. He had only just met most of these folks and would find it unrealistic to have someone, especially in her position, to open up to him in that manner.

Cadet Ayna Nyx

When trying to categorize his new found team mates, Ayna and Lorelei were similar in his mind. Both were resilient leaders who knew how to give out orders when the time came. However, they both seemed to relax with the group and understand we all needed time to decompress in our off hours. Arthur was very interested in getting to know more about his F.O. and Commander whenever he could. To have stronger relationships on a personal level would breed a smoother machine when the pedal hit the metal. Up to this point, Ayna seemed like someone with thick skin. Arthur was always prepared, in their off hours, to get a ribbing or two from her as he was willing to give back. He was excited for the opportunity to work with a F.O. with a backbone. That is two for two in the leadership department.

Cadet T'eklil Rarr

Part cyborg, part Klingon, a whole mess of history to back up this walking story. Being from a small town, such as Arthur was, normally two mind sets can breed from that. Shun those that are different until they prove to be of a good caliber, or don't judge a book by it's cover until you have understood the contents. Arthur normally fell to the latter of the two thoughts. This was not because Arthur was a bleeding heart of sorts, it was because he trusted the Academy. Someone wouldn't have been pushed through just to mess up the system of a cadet training event. So Arthur would begin to treat T'ek, as he called him, no different then the rest of his crew mates. "Does he know his position? Did he pass like the rest of us? Can the Klingon shoot? Then who the hell am I to assume anything about this being?"

Cadet Slazkith

Slaz was an interesting subject to Arthur. Reclusive was a term he normally felt about the Gorn. I mean, Arthur was not to familiar with the race so maybe this might have been how they all acted? Arthur would shrug it off honestly. He had adapted to the life of being a part of a team and understood that, with best hopes in mind, Slaz would slowly come out of his skin. He did respect Slaz's ability to keep up with research though. Whenever he noticed him outside of work the gorn was either eating or diving deep into some sort of research. The fella may not be to social yet, but damn did he seem like he was reaching for the pinnacle of knowledge in his field.

Cadet Reva Tylyr

As new relationships went, Reva interested Arthur very much so. Just like Slaz, he had never had the chance to discuss anything with a Rigelian before. A big part of her personality that he respected was her honesty. Then again, I guess that is part of her upbringing. None the less, it was much appreciated. If she had a thought, she would gladly share it. In his mind, especially in a setting such as this, any thought could be something that another one of the crew had not thought of to this point. That could change anything from the tide of battle to a chess match between friends.

They have more pronounced ears than other Vulcanoids which grants them better hearing even into the high and low end bands

Tylyr culture is said to be made up of those that broke away from Vulcan with the Romulans during the founding of Kolinahr culture the Zami following the Rigelians to the system they share with the Orions

The Tylyr people decided to keep the colony ships they could and remain in space so that they could explore farther and find perhaps an even better home for their people and over the centuries and distances travelled become a people of space.

Bio Reva is a member of the Zami people of Rigel called the Tylyr (Star People) and are a branch of the Rigelian people that spend their entire lives in space. It is for this reason that Reva and other Tylyr suffer a societal type of Wanderlust that demands they keep moving. Her clan found it’s way into the Federation merchant marine back in the days of Tiberius Kirk and have proven themselves a people who cared especially for Starships taking it to an almost spiritual level saying that they can hear the universe singing in the harmonics of a warp core. Whether they can or can’t hear the universe in the engines the Tylyr are sought after crew aboard any starship.

To Reva space is the normal environment, a Starship her home and Engineering a temple. This translates to her seeing herself as a neophyte priestess whose duty is to perform any task those of higher skills and rank set her to. She is of course aware that many don’t share her point of view having been raised on a Federation Merchant Marine ship. (Think Boomers)

Reva’s childhood was spent playing games in an environment where gravity was a suggestion in engineering and your life measured in Light years traveled, highest warp and there was no Up or Down. It was the life her people had lead since the times of memory and why she could sense things about a starship few noticed and dreamed of the day she would be an engineer but on her naming day (12 year old becomes an adult gets face tattoos) the Elders told her she was of the bird people; the Pilots and Navigators of the Tylyr. It frankly stunned her till she went to the Pilots and received their testing only to receive another surprise; they told her that her path was elsewhere because of her energy and aggression (Reva was/is very competitive); she was told that few of her people ever follow her path which lay towards the Birds of War which they looked at Starfleet as being for the Federation.

So after achieving entry into the merchant mates program at 16 then graduating at 18 reaching the rank of 1st class Merchants Mate and shipped out on a 2 year cruise which she returned as a Petty officer 2nd class which she used as a lever to take the Noncoms test for entry in Star Fleet; she aced the engineering section and scored above average in all other areas and eligible to take the OCS because of it and get a wild card appointment to the Academy.

Bio:

Adam Kerrick was born the first male child of a non-Starfleet Colony to parents who were possibly a little too dramatic for their own good. Torvus-III was not exactly the most ideal place to grow up in the Galaxy, particularly in the opening years of its existence. A world comprising mostly of only semi-fertile plains, with biting winds and roving herds of mega-herbivores, and predators to match, it was a true Frontier existence, chasing the valuable resources buried beneath the planet. Adam's love may have been the Sciences, but he first learned how to hunt, survive, and kill to defend his family and home. Living atop floating mobile colonies, mimicking herd behaviour so as to stretch out the resources that could be gathered from any one location, Adam was transient his entire life, and would only grow more so as time went on. As soon as he was old enough, he was travelling between the various colonies of the world, sometimes to bring goods back and forth, later, by his twelfth birthday, to aid in the repair and improvement of colony systems themselves.

Despite his home planet's isolation from Starfleet, it seemed natural that the maverick prodigy of the nowhere planet would make his way there, the best opportunity to expand upon, and apply his skill set and interests. With little formally recognised education upon Torvus-III, Adam had to travel for aptitude testing and training, his first time away from his home planet, not that he had any particular love for home. Adam's technical and practical ability made up for, in some amount, the lack of academic experience and qualifications, and following a few intermediary courses to provide him with the necessary bells and whistles, Adam moved on to Starfleet proper.

Having never really experienced the life of a built up colony, Adam found Earth and Starfleet more than a little bit of a culture shock, never quite deviating from his studies, he certainly took some time to explore the various wonders of Earth society, and many of the things his fellow students took for mundane. With his somewhat rustic upbringing, Adam did not feel fully realised in his focus alone, taking on a variety of electives to expand upon skills he had picked up across his life, primarily for combat and survival situations, so that he might have some official qualification to go along with his capacity for such things. While he made friends among his fellow academics, he spent more time bar-diving with the Marine Cadets, finding a little more in common with the majority of them. His bold mix of studies and skills, eventually earned him a place on the Jolly Rogers, and all the subsequent adventures that entailed. Appointed as the Operations Chief of the Challenger following the 'culling' of the Crew, Adam has been quick to earn his position and more, at least in terms of enthusiasm. His personality may scream care-free and rule-breaker, but his worth ethic is almost absolute, to the point that might make a Vulcan blink. Whatever the case, both he, and the crew, will be ready, for the next great challenge the decides to rear its face in their path, be it scientific, or militant.

Cadet Captain Lorelei

Adam didn't expect to make friends with a centuries old alien when he first began his Star Fleet education, but he didn't expect to have anything in common with one either. Both exposed to Earth culture at the same time, in a similar way. During her earlier 'dropout' years, they both spent plenty of time running away from classes to catch games, films and the like. While their relationship cooled a little as she began to take herself more seriously, Adam always able to balance being professionally light hearted, along with his studies, they both continued to succeed, and we're accomplished enough to be selected for the Black Flags. Since the disaster of their first mission, Adam has been attempted to get their Cadet Captain to come back out of her skin, to no avail.

Master Chief Eso Rosk

Adam and the Master Chief are not friends. Other than a vague respect for the man and his abilities, there is little love lost whenever the two butt heads. Adam is too jovial, too insubordinate in subtle ways for the Master Chief, and Adam has never been one to respect authority for authority's sake.

Cadet Arthur Locklin

As his elective classes may attest, Adam was always of the mind he would have been a marine, were he not so clever. He has often been faster, and better, friends with those of the military mind than his fellow students, appreciating the more grounded view, in a way reminding him of home. Locklin and Adam are drinking buddies, and will often be found, when appropriate (and sometimes not) smashing back shots. They probably both owe each other a small fortune in lost card hands.

Bio: Slazkith was born on the Gorn colony world of Gila IV and due to the fact that he was sickly and half-dead at after hatching from his egg was left to die. However, Orion smugglers came across the near dead infant and after a few moments of thinking of how useful he might be when he was full grown, grabbed Slazkith and beamed up to their ship and attempted to treat the majority of his health problems. After a few months of living aboard the Orion vessel, Slazkith managed to overcome some of his health problems but it quickly became apparent that he most likely wouldn't be as large and strong as a normal, healthy Gorn. It was decided the child was to die.

Slazkith was in the medical bay when the order came but as a child he didn't know what was happening. He did however know that something was wrong when the ship suddenly began shaking and red lights began to flash. The smugglers had come across a Klingon battle cruiser named the IKS Tra'vitv. After a fierce battle, the Orions surrendered and Klingon warriors began to board the vessel. A Bekk found the infant and looking into the infant's eyes and apparently liking what he saw, took the child and requested permission to send him to his family who resided on Pheben III. After getting approval from both his commanding officer and alerting his family, the Bekk was able to find transport to Pheben III and dropped the infant off with his family.

What followed were some of the best years of Slazkith's life. After residing on Pheben III, Slazkith became stronger and bigger then some of his Klingon family and was of great help to his adopted family especially when the harvest season came around. he found himself enjoying his freedom to hunt his own food. But at night, he would look up at the sky and wonder: What would it be like to travel the stars once again? What did the future hold for him?

At the age of twenty, Slazkith spoke with his adopted family and requested permission to attend Starfleet academy rather then the KDF due to the fact that he was far more interested in the Sciences rather then Security and Tactical.

He arrived at the Academy and despite drawing attention to himself with his mere presence and his eating habits in the mess hall, he seemed to absorb the information from his Science instructors like a sponge.
