Thinking it best not to disturb the trainer, Alex wandered into a random tall patch of grass, the grass tickling his knees.

[MinnieKing]

Roku is now about halfway through the route. It's getting a bit chiller. A wild Sewaddle appeared!

Alex makes it a few steps into the grass before a wild Zigzagoon appears.

[Ryougu]

"Geh..." Roku muttered at the sight of yet another bug. "Where are all the cool-looking pokémon, like Elekid?" He complained. He realized it was not the Sewaddle's fault for being born that way, so he vowed to contain his disrespect from now on. That didn't mean he wouldn't battle however. Weighing his options, he once more concluded thundershock wouldn't do. "Only one other option, Elekid, use quick attack!"

[MinnieKing]

Sewaddle used Tackle!

[Ryougu]

"Rinse and repeat, Elekid! Quick attack!"

[Nyctophilia]

"Alright, go Riolu!" Alex releases his Pokemon from its ball. "Use Scratch!"

[MinnieKing]

"Wow, he's fast. Scratch, again!"

[Ryougu]

A smirk flashed across Roku's face as the sewaddle clearly wasn't doing so well. "Looking great Elekid, finish things off with quick attack and we'll be on our way again!"

[MinnieKing]

Sewaddle fainted!
Elekid gained 21 experience points!

[Ryougu]

"Wooowww! Good job Elekid, that's 2 in a row! You're the best pokémon around, aren't you?" Roku said (borderline yelled) enthusiastically. Before too long, Roku and Elekid would be on their way again, Elekid was awesome, but he couldn't keep fighting forever.

[Nyctophilia]

Alex slips a pokeball from his belt. "Get out of the way, Riolu. Go, Pokeball!"

[MinnieKing]

Rokus pride seems to make the grass dance in the wind. He's almost reached the end of the route.

Alex's pokeball bonks the Zigzagoon on the head, only for the creature to turn into red aura and go inside the pokeball.
The pokeball wiggles three times, and clicks.

[Ryougu]

Roku smiles as his pride influences the world around him. With (even more) renewed confidence, Roku paced towards the end of the route.

[Nyctophilia]

Alex clips the pokeball now containing his new Pokemon to his belt. "Come on Riolu, we have to keep going." They venture farther into the route, through more tall grass.

[MinnieKing]

Roku has arrived in Chivil City. A large town, with roads, cafes, theaters, schools, a pokemon center, a gym, a pokemart, houses, and even a casino. It's also very snowy.

Alex makes it about three quarters through the route before a wild Oddish appears!

[Ryougu]

Heading over to the gym, Roku checks the sign, looking for the gym's type. Afterwards, he leaves for the pokémon center to heal his partner Elekid.

[Nyctophilia]

"An oddish, huh? Let's do this Riolu! Scratch!"

[MinnieKing]

Roku discovers the gym leader uses ice types. Elekid gets fully healed.

"Ice-types, huh..." Roku mumbled to himself. Granted, his Elekid was awesome, but they didn't have anything special against ice-types. A little dejected, Roku decided to do some reconnaissance. And what better way to do so than to directly confront the competition? Determined and feeling like he'd beat down anyone with his Elekid, Roku returned to the gym, entered and started looking for the first gym trainer.
