| PREMISE: |


While unofficially Hyperhumans, individuals with extraordinary gifts unique to them, have been part of the world since the early 1900's, in the year 2014 they received an unofficial outing at the hands of terrorist Yakob Kowalski. Kowalski having lost his family to a young Hypes' developing abilities, had maintained a grudge over the years culminating with a plan to expose Hyperhumans as dangerous individuals. However he was stopped by S.H.I.F.T., the Specialized Hyperhuman Intervention Federal Taskforce.

In light of these events, humanity realized they weren't alone. Originally Canadian based, S.H.I.F.T. was part of the Hyperhuman Equality, Logistics and Protection department. In the aftermath of Kowalski's attempts to paint all Hyperhumans as destructive monsters, H.E.L.P. was elevated to an international organization and joined with the United Nations. Now able to work on a global level, H.E.L.P. has discovered they are not the only the only ones interested in Hyperhumans. While there are some who wish to use Hypes to their achieve their own goals or protect their own interests, there are others who wish to see this entire race exterminated.


| PLOT: |


PRIMARY PLOT:
A strange illness has begun to befall the city of Toronto. So far the cases are isolated but doctors fear that it will prove to be extremely contagious. All reported cases have only thus far affected Hyperhumans. Symptoms include sneezing, headaches and eventually escalating to shakes, shivers, sweating and high fevers. Most importantly, this illness affects a Hyperhumans' ability to use and control their powers. Loss of control is common as is loss of their abilities altogether. So far there are no leads as to what is causing this illness nor how quickly it will spread. The only clue was an ominous warning from the notorious hacktivist group known as Uroborus.

SUB-PLOTS:
NATHAN PHILLIPS SQUARE
Having been affected by the weaponized virus, a Hyperhuman with the ability to control and manipulate gravity fields has created a situation at Nathan Phillips Square. Numerous citizens have been injured and at least one death. Police have responded to the scene but are ill equipped to deal with the situation. Intervention is necessary before more lives are lost.

Humanity has been constantly evolving and adapting to the world around them for centuries upon centuries. Even now, humanity is undergoing major changes as a new race makes itself known.

After millennia of Earth being routinely doused in what is known as coronal mass ejections, the side effects are starting to show. The coronal mass ejections or CMEs, are a massive burst of solar wind and magnetic fields being released into space and often directly at Earth. Carried within these events are high energy particles and it is these particles which have begun to cause humanity to change and develop new and sometimes unfathomable abilities.

The resulting effect of the high energy particles is an evolution that was first mistaken for a mutation and coined as the condition 'Viriumosis'. As research continued, it was realized that the mutation was not a temporary condition but the start of a new species as the 'Homo-Virium' was not the result of disease but rather was born with their abilities. The genetic difference became known as the 'Hype-Gene' or 'Hype-Factor' and was most common in families with a long spanning ancestry and history. The 'Hype-Gene' was a culminative result of high energy particles stored within the donating parent's chromosomes which resulted in the creation of the 'Hype-Gene' in their offspring. As such, a human born without a 'Hype-Gene' cannot develop Hyperhuman abilities no matter how many high energy particles they absorb throughout their life, however their offspring may be a Hyperhuman. The 'Hype-Gene' isn't exclusively carried within either sex but is a dominant gene within both ensuring that the child of a Hyperhuman will indeed be one themselves. Studies are inconclusive whether powers levels are greater or equal within children who have two Hyperhuman parents. Despite the fact that the 'Hype-Gene' takes a dominant role during the embryo's development, it remains practically undetectable until puberty as it lays in a dormant state until puberty. During puberty, the overwhelming release of hormones awakens the dormant 'Hype-Gene' which then begins to develop super-human abilities within the host.

There’s an estimated one Hyperhuman per every million humans on Earth. This is expected to double in the next ten years and continue on this path until eventually make up the majority of the Earth’s population within the next hundred years.



| GLOBAL ORGANIZATIONS: |


The Alexandria Foundation:
Originating out of the Middle East, the Alexandria Foundation masquerades as an international oil giant but is actually a preservation force looking for assets to benefit its countries of origins. As such agents of the Alexandria Foundation often find themselves in conflict with the Black Lotus Society and S.H.I.F.T. It is believed that the Alexandria Foundation has discovered and is hoarding an alternate means of power. This new power source could revolutionize the world but the Alexandria Foundation continues to use oil as its main product due to the economic gain black gold brings in.

The Black Lotus Society:
An elite secret society of professional assassins and terrorists. The Black Lotus Society originated out of China but primarily operates out of Central Europe in modern times. Available for hire only for the extremely wealthy, the Black Lotus Society seeks to widen the gap between the economic classes and eliminate the middle class in order to create a ruling class to control. Furthermore, the Black Lotus Society also operates as a collector of ‘Unique’ assets. Actively seeking out anything extraordinary or not of this world, the Black Lotus Society takes a high interest in all matters Hyperhuman, Magni and Celestial. Using these assets to move towards its goals.

Constantine’s Guard:
A fragment of the Knight’s Templar, Constantine’s Guard are a group of extremists dedicated to exterminating anything on Earth that is not human. Despite being small in numbers, the Constantine’s Guard are highly efficient at taking down beings much more powerful than themselves using stolen prototype technologies. Constantine’s Guard has been linked to numerous biomedical organizations over the years and it’s theorized that they may be experimenting with bioweapons to diminish the growing Hyperhuman population.

H.E.L.P.:
The Hyperhuman Equality, Logistics and Protection Department was a former Canadian initiative that was expanded into part of the United Nations after a terrorist by the name of Yakob Kowalski tried to paint all Hyperhumans as dangerous. The department is organized into three divisions. The first of these divisions, Equality and Research deals with the social issues that plague Hyperhumans. The Logistics and Research Division focuses on further understanding the genetics and development of the Hype-Gene along with numerous technologies which help to protect the average citizen from Hyperhumans who choose to abuse their abilities. Lastly there's the Protection and Enforcement Division who track down and contain those who do in fact abuse their abilities. On the other side of the coin, the Protection and Enforcement Division protect Hyperhumans from those who wish to persecute them. H.E.L.P. runs the Pacific Royal Collegiate and University on an island just off the western coast of British Columbia where they bring those who either wish to enroll or who those society have shunned and need a place of acceptance.

S.H.I.F.T:
The Specialized Hyperhuman Intervention Federal Taskforce is a specific team affiliated under H.E.L.P.'s Protection and Enforcement Division. Equipped with specialized gear members of S.H.I.F.T. are dispatched when situations become far too dangerous for the military or H.E.L.P. agents to handle directly. S.H.I.F.T. members are trained to resist and avoid even some of the most dangerous Hyperhuman attacks and about 95% are Hyperhumans themselves. S.H.I.F.T. was first established in response to a rising number of vigilantes who were abusing their Hyperhuman abilities S.H.I.F.T. was created to intervene and contain the situation to prevent the loss of life on both sides. As such, standard armament for S.H.I.F.T. agents includes both lethal and non-lethal weapons such as tasers and tranquilizers. S.H.I.F.T. exclusively recruits agents from P.R.C.U., the H.E.L.P. run academy that shares the same island as their main headquarters. Non-Hyperhuman members are recruited from various military organizations generally those in specialized divisions.

Uroboros:
A ‘hacktivist’ group, Uroboros is a networked group of likeminded hackers dedicated to uncovering and exposing every dirty little secret behind every government and corporation out there. Using various IPs, pseudonyms, Uroboros manages to remain in the shadows and keeps its members secret. Anyone who tries to infiltrate Uroboros is generally found out immediately and made an example of. It is not known what the goal of Uroboros’ activity is or if they even have one, many law enforcement agencies simply dismiss them as anarchists.

Zeke is a fairly in shape young man standing roughly 5'-10" and at a weight of roughly 168lbs. He has kind seafoam green eyes which hide his brutal nature and make him seem far more trustworthy than he ought to be. Usually found unshaven, though with a trimmed five o'clock shadow, he hasn't yet managed to grow a full beard out though not for lack of trying. Generally he spikes up his hair at the front in different varieties of the quiff, ducktail and ski slope styles though Zeke isn't above putting his hair in a faux hawk. This is all of course saying he doesn't don a hat for the day.

He wears the usual clothes of someone his age, jeans, tees, hoodies. Whenever Zeke needs to conceal his identity, he has a ball cap he pulls onto his head, dipping the beak down to shield his face while raising up the hood on his sweater or jacket. Occasionally, Zeke will pull a scarf above the lower half of his face to further ensure his identity remains hidden. ~See above picture for visual reference.~

| ABILITIES: |
Ezekiel is able to control, create and manipulate all forms of magnetism. Notably, he is able to harness his natural bio-electric field in order to create magnetic fields to achieve a variety of effects. Zeke's field of effect ranges over any matter that is of a magnetic nature such iron, nickel, cobalt and their various alloys. There are also some rare earth metals and naturally-occurring minerals such as lodestone which Zeke can manipulate. Organics can also be manipulated if they produce magnetic fields as sometimes happens due to living beings generating electric currents. Furthermore, organics with a high iron content also may be able to be manipulate whether they have organic magnetic films or not.

Due to the composition of certain metals, notably those of a high ferrous nature, Zeke is able to manipulate them through magnetism even at a molecular level, altering and shaping them. Due also to magnetism's close relationship to electricity, Zeke has limited control over some forms of current.

| LIMITATIONS: |
■ Zeke is limited in what types of metals he can manipulate as well as heavily limited in manipulating organics.
■ While Zeke's powers aren't tied to his physical strength, mentally he has created this association and thus believes that anything outside of his physical range is something he won't be able to manipulate.
■ Outside of his abilities, Zeke is only human requiring food, rest and time to recharge. His has the normal stamina and strength levels of an average athlete.
■ Zeke's personal iron intact affects his powers, a lack of iron can lead to him becoming weakened as opposed to a diet full of iron which can potentially boost his abilities.

| WEAKNESSES: |
■ High heat can destroy Zeke's magnetic fields, temporarily setting him back.
■ Zeke can be demagnetized by alternating electrical currents. He will remain essentially powerless until he manages to absorb a new magnetic field to jumpstart his powers again.
■ If Zeke is electrically grounded, he can't use his powers. As such bodies of water can be especially dangerous to Zeke and can even harm him when his magnetic fields electrically overload.
■ Materials which lack any ferrous properties are immune to Zeke's abilities.
■ Lastly Zeke requires metal to manipulate. While he can do some attacks with magnetic fields alone, he is most effective when manipulating ferrous materials.

| APPLICATIONS: |
■ Zeke can generate and manipulate magnetic fields, and indirectly through them control anything that is affected/connected/ by/to them. As such he can use these to achieve telekinetic like effects over metallic objects or anything he's able to magnetize. Zeke could also potentially use magnetic fields to fly by polarizing himself and creating a field of the same polarity around himself to repel himself through the air. Zeke can release his magnetic force in varying ways:
■ Metal Manipulation limited to iron, nickel, cobalt and their alloys. This allows Zeke to manipulate metals such as his favourite coins, changing their shape, honing an edge onto them and numerous other like effects.
■ Limited Matter Manipulation by affecting the metallic particles in the non-metallic objects. Meaning Zeke can pull and push some matter without the need for creating magnetic fields around them.
■ Limited Motor-Skill Manipulation by affecting the metallic particles in body. A highly advanced technique, Zeke will not be able to do this until further into the RP. Resisting his control obvious can either neglect the effect or simply increase the difficulty depending on the strength of the target and their blood iron content.
■ Magnetic Force-Field by producing walls of magnetic fields to repel attacks.
■ Magnetokinetic Constructs by magnetically manipulating metals and fusing them together into either weapons or defensive contructs. He can't create anything complex so he won't be building vehicles, guns or anything like that.

■ Electronic Disruption through creating magnetic fields around electronics.
■ Magnetic Attacks through charging magnetic fields to create electric bolts.
■ Magnetic Infusion by laying magnetic fields into objects making them adhere almost indefinitely to a target.
■ Sense magnetic fields, how they move and anything that moves/disturbs them:
■ Detect metallic objects, or even track people based on the iron in their blood.

| SKILLS: |
Track and Field Athlete:
A former track and field athlete at his highschool, Zeke was a sprinter as well as performing in the high jump, shot put, javelin, discus and hurdle. Due to this, he's got above average endurance and is in a good standing physically.

Barbecuing:
An excellent cook with a barbeque, Zeke grills a mean steak, pork chop or chicken. Whenever he can, Zeke cooks his food on the barbeque claiming the smell of coals or propane enhances the flavour.​

Mechanic:
Due to his abilities, Zeke has a natural attraction to mechanical systems, specifically engines. Due to this, he's taken the initiative to build up a few skills over the year that allow him to fix and maintain engines though he has a particular soft spot for motorcycles.​

| EQUIPMENT: |
Zeke always keeps a roll of quarters handy. Aside from that, he carries the regular items most young adults do, his wallet, cellphone, keys etc. In terms of transportation, Zeke takes the bus throughout the winter but during the other three seasons he rides a black Honda Fury.

| BACKSTORY: |
Born twenty one years ago in Toronto, Ezekial Jernigan grew up in Etobicoke, despite both his parents holding down jobs they had moved to Toronto with a lot of debt and could only afford to live in North Etobicoke in the Rexdale neighbourhoods. Both parents worked in the manufacturing industry with his father employed as a foreman at the steel mill while his mother was a general laborer. As such, Zeke didn't see much of his parents growing up and was constantly left in the care of a kindly old lady whose old age pension allowed her just enough to afford rent. As such, she was always appreciative of the babysitting jobs which greatly helped her out.

Growing up, Zeke lived under the constant pressure to join one of the city's many local gangs but thanks to the guidance of old Mrs. Miller, Zeke kept himself busy playing sports in her backyard or performing odd jobs for the other neighbors. At least that was until one night when Zeke returned home from mowing various lawns to earn a couple extra dollars on top of his allowance only to find Mrs. Miller dead in her living room as a result a botched home invasion. It was after this that his parents decided to risk debt again in order to move out of the ugly neighborhood but Zeke never forgot the injustice served to Mrs. Miller by a bunch of petty thieves.

Going through highschool, Zeke was a fairly popular if not distant student. He participated in various extracurricular activities but not enough to win awards or recognition as he skated by under the radar. Gaining a part time job at a mechanic shop after school during his sophomore year, Zeke cultivated his interest and love of engines and mechanics. At the age of sixteen, Zeke discovered his abilities. At first he thought they were a coincidence but eventually he realized he was a gifted. Zeke began to experiment with his powers eventually discovering that he could be quite effective manipulating magnetic fields.

Armed with an idea to gain revenge for Mrs. Miller's death and perhaps help curb the ever rising crime rate in Toronto, Zeke turned to vigilantism. Now Zeke keeps an eye out from crimes while attending the Seneca College for Instrumentation and Control Engineering Technology. As such, Zeke travels a good portion of the city every day allowing him to keep a wide watch over the city he grew up in. Despite this, he's a bit of a delinquent and commonly tags that areas he helps out gaining his 'hero' alias a bit of a poor reputation. While his motives are decent, Zeke commonly takes the wallets of those he stops, often performing his vigilantism more for self gain than actually helping the community.​

| SAMPLE POST: |
The steel roof seemed to explode beneath Ezekiel 'Zeke' Jernigan as he ran frantically atop of, covering his face with his arms while bullets ripped through the sheet metal beneath him. Shrapnel flew in every which direction as the bullets seemingly curved around Zeke's bio-magnetic field changed their path, directing them away from his body. With the automated weapons fire showing no sign of stopping and Zeke quickly running out of roof to run along he was going to have to make a choice soon as he began to curse loudly to himself.

"Damnit, damnit, damnit!" He had no time to hesitate as he jumped, his body seemed to pull itself towards the metal siding of the next warehouse as he collided hard against the side of the building. Expecting to plunge to the ground at any second, Zeke let out a groan as he opened the eyes he had hastily forced shut only to realize he was staying put, his body holding firmly against the wall.

"That's cool." He muttered as he raised one hand over his head, a tingling sensation radiating through him as he placed it against the siding before, repeating the motion with his other hand as he slowly scaled his way to the top of the second building. Breathing heavily, he pulled himself on top of the structure coming face to face with the dawn's first rays of sunlight. Looking down at his hands, Zeke flexed his fingers muttering aloud to himself.

"My powers are getting stronger." The angry cries of the gang bangers whoever broke up Zeke's monologue as he heard men shouting to check that he was dead. Opting to not stick around for an actual bullet in his body, Zeke pushed his body into a run again despite its heavy resistance. His lungs were burning worse than they ever had after a track meet, but he supposed that was the consequences of an all night 'crime-fight' session. 'Fighting' being the opportune word here as Zeke didn't so much stop any crime as he had merely angered a hornet's nest of the Dixon Bloods.

Finding a ladder, Zeke slid down it quickly before ducking between a few buildings and making his way back to the alley where he had stowed his bike. Pulling the heavy tarp off the bike, Zeke pulled the bandanna away from his mouth and took the ball cap off his head before fastening his helmet on. With sun finally up, it was definitely time to hit the hay. Leaving Etobicoke behind him, Zeke maneuvered his motorcycle quickly along the city's various side roads, avoiding the speed traps laid out by the police on the city's central routes. Toronto's police couldn't even catch speeders let alone real criminals.

Pulling onto his college's campus, Zeke made his way towards his dorm's parking area before leaving his bike and headed up into his room. Opening the door, he pulled off his clothes quickly before flopping into his bed and closing his eyes. No sooner had he done that than his alarm went off, the aggressive beeping echoing through the small space as Zeke rolled over and groaned.

Today was his calculus test and he hadn't studied. Shrugging he sat up, reaching for his books as he looked at the clock. The test started in half an hour.

"Eh, I've got time to cram."

Depends on how you build it. I've seen it work for both Minerva or Vulcan. I generally would say Vulcan though.

@Pie FlavorIn terms of Uroborus they would likely digitally delete you making life rather impossible. I should note that their mention in the plot does not make them the villains and they should not immediately be construed as a villainous group.

@Pie FlavorIn terms of Uroborus they would likely digitally delete you making life rather impossible. I should note that their mention in the plot does not make them the villains and they should not immediately be construed as a villainous group.


Well I guess I will show my skills as a hacker who could hold them against multiple assault from a hacker group... Now to make my character a sociopath and a loner. With some autistic traits along with him/her to balance them out and then my character will be complete!!! Now how to work out his history now thats going to be hard to work out...

Crime In Toronto

Going to add this to the OP for future reference, but there's an actual organization called the Black Hand. That is so cool and horrifying. At least I don't live within an hour of Toronto anymore.
