Keyleigh slid her keycard through an access port and walked through to what looked like a class room, a plain room with tables lined up in rows and chairs facing towards her. It had two doors, one that led in from a lobby of some sort and another that led back out the way she came and required the key card. She looked over the group she had and leaned against the expensive looking black oak desk that was generally hers, but not officially.

"Well, you don't have a feral look in your eyes yet, but at least you don't look like bed wetters," She said, her accent a little hard to place but leaned more towards Irish.

That generally happened after living for over 300 years, dialects get twisted and a tongue goes extinct then is soon replaced by another and soon you can't tell where anyone's from anymore. Not that it matters much anyways.

"You've all got your keys and IDs, they allow you access to specific areas only such as the cafeteria, the sparring room, the locker room for your gender, this room and the main library, once you finish your time with me, then you will be given or lose privileges based on conduct and performance. In other words, do as I say, when I say it and don't argue. Otherwise, we should get along famously. Any questions?"

Fleur scanned over papers on her desk and let out a sigh, looking out of her window to the delightfully dismal weather. Ah how she loved the rain, it often reminded her of her younger days, but enough time for reminiscing. She turned back to the papers and began placing certain ones to envelopes with names written in her elegant script on the front . She took the time to seal them and then transferred them into a satchel which she picked up and carried to a conference room. Morning briefings were always a bore but they had to be done. She took her seat at the head of the table and pulled the envelopes out.

"Good morning. Today's briefing is simple, you have your missions in the envelope with your name. You are to follow the instructions to the letter and I will be assigning one of you to work with our...youngest agent," She said, her voice laced with honey and at the same time with the promise of poison.

"Benoît, you will have Chintia accompany you since your mission is simply a recovery, you can read the details yourself later on. This meeting is at an end," Fleur said after laying out the envelopes neatly.

The summer storms, in particular, were the most beautiful. The rain came down hard, but brief, and the winds blew so fast overhead that the clouds rolled against each other, barely eeking out the faint glow of the moon far above through their various fluffy thicknesses. Only the supernatural eyes of a vampire could detect such dim light, and the sky resembled a work of godly art.

The air was warm still, and the rain was ending... winds beginning to die down. The air in the country was always so much cleaner and more pure than near human filth. It used to be that way everywhere, long, long ago. It was in this blissful night dream that Mithias stepped out onto the high rock ledge over looking the valley. His long, straight black hair seemed to vanish behind him into his long black coat. A violin pressed up against his white chin, and he looked out to the horizon beneath those thick, summery clouds.

This is what he enjoyed. Peace, and satisfying oneness with the mysterious planet that had been given to them all by god. Natural, and immortal, he was a being of divine blood. All vampires were. It was simply too bad not all of them knew their purpose.

With gratitude and appreciation, his white, clawed hand brought the bow to the strings, and for a moment, even the wind seemed to wait to hear what was to be played. Mithias loved the sounds of the violin. He loved to play out his spirit and speak to the timeless universe, patiently pleading, loving. It was centering.

As he played, he felt joy. It grew like a power in his veins and without him even trying, he caused small flames to begin to dance on the top of the bow, singing it, but so beautiful. He let himself for this moment, be lost in happiness and hope.

Situated within his small, closed off office in the Lycan's main headquarters seated the infamous Romulus Capitoline or better known as Luke Williams. He is a very aged Lycan that was born sometime during the Roman Empire, around 80 BC, give or take a few years. Thus making Luke over two thousand years old. The old Lycan has seen many pain during his long life and had felt even more, but he did not let his 'human' emotions get the better of him. He is level-headed and knows how to hide away his true personality which was sweet and kind. He preferred a more dominant persona, one that screamed 'leader.'

Currently Luke was looking over the morning newspaper while listening to the radio that was turned to the local police station's frequency. This was how he spent most of his days, keeping tabs on the city and elsewhere. Right now he was dealing with a brutal murder that occurred a little over a month ago. A young child, a girl at the age of nine was violently killed when she was abducted right under the watchful eyes of her mother. The child's body was found with her a couple of her bones broken. Her neck was nearly torn from her torso and she was drained of her blood...

The police told the press that she was attacked by a stray dog, but Luke knew better. This was not a mutt's doing, this was clear to him and anybody else who had inside information. What killed the poor girl was none other than a Vampire, a bloodsucking humanoid parasite that has been around since before the time of man. Luke could gather a lot of information from all of this, but no hint to who could have done the murder was in mind. Luke thought some feral Vampire did it, judging from the way she died and how she was simply left there to rot. Feral Vampires are without a doubt the most dangerous Vampire archetype. They are not protected within a coven and so they must fend themselves on their own.

Taking a long and deep puff from his e-cigarette (Luke was trying to quit smoking) he continued to peer through the papers until he violently threw away the imposter cigarette. This case was a frustrating one since it occurred directly under his nose. In anger Luke said to himself, "I need a smoke... a real smoke." Reaching into his pocket, Luke took out a pack of cigarettes and pulled out a single cigarette, putting the box away. Inside another pocket, Luke took out a lighter. He placed the tip of the cig in his mouth and lit it. He took a long inhale and let out an extended soothing sigh, "...Ahhhhh..."

Alejandro was couldn't wait for class to start, he got there a bit early to make sure he didn't stay home asleep. He nothing better to do but to look outside a window until finally the teacher came in and started to speak in weird accent. The temptation to laugh was too hard to hold back but he managed to keep it at a giggle. After she asked for if anybody had any questions and Alejandro took this opportunity to be funny. "Yes I have question, why don't I have access to the girl's locker room, this system is corrupt."

Katherine was tapping her fingers on the table, she was amongst the new recruits for the Lycan race. She had to admit though when she was born into a family of Lycans she was never fond of being one herself, but I suppose that fate had other ideas for her and she had no intention in this war against vampires. Honestly the only thing that's making her do this is the little grudge she holds in her heart where a vampire killed her entire family. If you think Katherine was the type of person to go through with petty grudges she wasn't, sure she had one, but she wouldn't attack a vampire unless her own life was in danger. No Katherine was a bit more laid back than most lycans with a soft spot she hides with a tough exterior.

Katherine was listening to the woman sitting behind a very nice black oak desk, though a sudden chime from another fledgling lycan kinda annoyed her, she wasn't fond of jokes or anyone trying to be funny. She just sighed and gave a slight eye roll while she kept focus on front, having her chair tilted on the back two legs and her feet kicked up on the desk, keeping her balance as she rocked in the chair. She was silent when there was asked to be questions while fiddling with her key card between two of her slim and pale fingers. Katherine was sort of the silent type, rather keep to herself then talk to anyone else unless she was spoken to, other then that she would lose interest rather quickly if someone can keep her attention long.

Katherine was rocking back and forth in her seat, tapping her fingers on the desk and even one of her feet were twitching. She wasn't one to be cooped up in one place to long, she rather be out running around or dancing or doing something. Even though she wanted to leave, she couldn't because she was stuck here going through all this initiative crap. She let out an exasperated sigh and averted her eyes from the front, though she was still listening.

Keyleigh looked to the young man and flashed a toothy grin, baring off her razor sharp canines, a skill these young ones hadn't learned yet. She stood and walked to where the young man sat then looked him up and down.

"Alright smart guy, you get the first sparring session with a friend of mine," She said then walked along the row and pushed a girl's feet off of the desk.

"Let's get a move on puppies, time for your first lesson. Follow the arrows to the sparring arena, locker rooms are clearly marked and your keys open your lockers which have your training gear," Key said, leaving the room then poked her head back in. "Last one there scrubs down the men's showers and toilets."

With that last tid bit, she walked back out and down to her own office, picked up the phone and dialed Luke's extension. She plopped down in her chair and blew a strand of hair from her face.

Katherine let out a low growl as she eyed the woman, but shrugged and sighed while shaking her head and got up from the desk. She followed quietly after the woman with her arms crossed and eyed her as she headed back to her office as she and the other fledglings continued on. When she was at the end of the arrows she found the sparring as she used her ID to access it and went to the locker rooms for a quick change. While changing Katherine started doing anfew stretches and moving her feet nimbly and fast, sparring was nothing new to her as she used to do it with her father.

Taking another deep inhale of his cigarette, Luke started to relax a bit, allowing his mind to ease. Cigarettes were one of his stress reliever nowadays. Although he would still prefer the odd pipe every now and again, but it wasn't considered modern enough to be used out in public. He pulled away from his large wooden desk and put his feet atop of it, deepening himself into his comfy leather chair. He shut his eyes and took a few deep breaths before placing the cigarette back into his mouth. Just at the pinnacle of his relaxation, Luke's phone rang. It startled him for a brief moment as he quickly fixed himself up. He placed his feet back down on the floor and rolled his chair back into the pocket of the desk.

The phone continued to ring until finally he reached over and picked it up, placing it against his right ear. "Williams speaking, who may this be?"

Another day, another job, Benoît picked up his envelope and nodded to Chintia, he was curious as to why he was being employed for a simple recovery mission and more so that he was bringing the young vampire seductress with him. "Come on then." he said flatly to the young vampire and left the room opening the letter, curious to see where he was going and why he was bringing this one with him.

"It's the girl of your dreams," Keyleigh replied in a breathy voice. "It's Key, would you like to come and throw some newbies on the mat? I've got one with a smart mouth you can have so you'll stop staring at that case for an hour."

She leaned back in her chair and looked around the... slightly disorganized office. She rifled around in a drawer next and pulled out an antique vampire killing kit, wrinkling her nose at how dusty it was. She needed to clean this place soon... maybe next week.

The recovery was of an ancient artifact from a museum in London. Fleur and the Queen often shared a fondness of historical items, but this one was supposed to have belonged to Dracula and it didn't go into further detail.

"Keyleigh..." Mumbled Luke, hearing her voice on the other end. He listened to what she had to say. Something about her needing a sparring teacher of sorts. While Luke was indeed quite busy, he wouldn't mind a small break from it all. Especially due to the struggles he had been having on this particular case. Replying to her he said, "Not exactly my cup of tea, but alright then. Whatever it takes to better the next generation. I'll talk to you later, Key."

Putting the phone down, Luke got up from his leather seat and walked over to a large metal gun safe. It was locked and only Luke knew how to enter it. After dialing the passcode, it opened for me. Inside the case was his vampire weapons. Two swords: a longsword from medieval England or perhaps France. The other was a silver basket hilt sabre from Ireland or maybe Scotland. Both these weapons were quite old regardless. There was also a large doubled edged dagger of eloquent design. An expensive weapon without a doubt, gifted to Luke countless centuries ago. A small hunting knife was also in his kit and finally a .50 caliber Desert Eagle that he kept strapped to his belt, opposite from the two swords.

He put the weapons on his person, wanting to show the pups what he wore when he went out hunting for vampires. It was a bit much, sure, but all had a specific role to play. Luke closed the door to the safe and walked to his coat hangar, putting on his long beaten up trench coat. At last Luke opened the office door, but not before he remembered his most trusty tool: his sharpened wooden stave. With that in hand he left, making his way down towards the gym area where the sparring class was going to take place. He was ready to show these new bloods what it took to be a vampire slayer...

Katherine pulled something round and white from her jean short pocket, it was just tape, but she wrapped each hand with a good amount as well as her feet, she did better bare foot, before tossing the tape in her locker. She pulled her long raven hair back into two long pigtails and put her hands into fists as she pounded her knuckles together and took deep breaths. She shut her locker and stared at it for a few moments before turning and leaving the girls locker room and entering the gym area.

It seemed that joker wasn't quite done yet and she just rolled her eyes and started doing a few stretches while she waited. Fighting was sort of a natural instinct to her, more artillery then hand to hand, but they were still equally well trained skills. The last thing she did was put her body into a straight handstand and was planning to hold that position till everyone arrived, bringing her legs out and straight again for a few exercises every now and then.

"Uh sir... that password hasn't been used in about twenty years... A young lycan, barely out of his training by the looks of it, who was guarding the entrance to the headquarters managed to stammer out as he addressed the much more imposing figure of a man in front of him. "Well that is because I haven't used it in twenty years, pup." The mountain of a man said in a gravelly voice that would put the gruffest of men to shame, the small squeak the young guard used as a response only added to the intimidating nature of the man's voice. "I-I am really sorry sir I just er I-I mean that.... The guard said as he fumbled with his fingers and tried to think of a way out of this situation. The large man merely rolled his eyes before looking back at the guard and gently patting him on the shoulder with his massive hand. "Okay just listen here pup, you call whoever is in charge of this place nowadays and let them sort this whole thing alright?" The large man said in the same way one would speak to a small confused child. After recovering from the pat on the shoulder that knocked him off balance the guard quickly fumbled with his phone and dialed up the number to one of the top officals of the facility. After he got through to her he said in a weak voice. "Uh Miss Keyleigh... there is a man here claiming he has a office here. T-Thing is that his password hasn't been used in twenty years. He says his name is G.... What do I do?"

Alejandro looked nervous when she walked up to him after his amazing joke earlier. But when she got to him she then said that he will be the first to spar with a friend of hers in the gym area. Alejandro thought to himself that this wasn't going be fun once he arrived at the looker rooms. He also thought that maybe this might be a good thing, well you never know.

When he was in the gym, he quickly looked around for the guy he was supposed to fight. He was hoping and praying that the guy he was facing wouldn't be some huge guy that was buffed out. Suddenly Alejandro had the best idea ever, maybe he could make an excuse to get out of this situation, yeah that's it.

Katherine came down from her handstand into immediate push UPS where she did a few of them before standing back on her feet. She raised an eyebrow at the funny man who seemed fidgety and just scoffed, "pathetic," she mumbled to herself though her voice was far from normal. It wasn't thick and was not all that hidden, Katherine had a slight Russian accent due to the fact that her father was full Russian and her mother was American who was visiting the country. She twisted her body to crack her back, then her head side to side for her neck and lastly her knuckles. If they were going to spar she was gearing up for it, all this waiting was starting to annoy her. Just letting out another sigh she just stood with her arms crossed and waited while tapping her foot on the ground.

A few minutes rolled by and at last Luke Williams had finally made it downstairs. He took in front of the sparring room as he took out his ID that was attached by some thin rope. The ID also acted as the keycard for numerous doors around the building. Placing it on the sparring room's door's scanner, the hulking door clicked and Luke pushed it open with his free hand. He walked slowly into the center of the large room, still having a cigarette in his mouth. His weapons clanking around as he moved around. He looked at all the initiates in front of him, sighing to him as he fully knows that many would end up dying and killed due to this line of work. No matter, Luke's job was to prevent untimely deaths if possible. To train these new pups as vampire slayers.

Luke took one last puff of his cigarette before taking the cigarette and crushing it with two fingers. He sprinkled the ashes onto the tiled floor as he cleared his voice loudly. Luke spoke out: "My name is Luke Williams and I have been tasked to teach this particular sparring class. I have been hunting vampires for centuries, if not more. It will serve you all well to pay close attention to what I shall show you, what I shall tell you all. For these lessons will save your life..."

He looked around, eying each and every one of them intensely. Speaking out once more, Luke says, "Before we can get started, I hear there is a certain trouble maker in our ranks. I ask this individual to step forward. If not, I shall sniff him out myself..."

Rain, it was often a subject of debate for many people. There were some who loved it, be it for aesthetic reasons or simply because it blocked out the bright sun, and some who hated it due to the sense of gloom that hung about when rain was present. For one Dimitri Santos, the rain was nothing if not a godsend. It meant that he could roam the streets during the day and acquire the little knickknacks that made his immortality all the more enjoyable before stores closed. Knickknacks such as the large cuban cigar that he clenched firmly in his teeth as he strode briskly through the halls of the facility that served as a headquarter for his kind. The vampire idly scratched his chin as he felt a bit of ash fall into his beard before blowing out a thick plume of smoke from his nostrils. Dimitri finally slowed to a stop as he reached his destination: The briefing room. Hearing a few voices inside, Dimitri chose to stand beside the doorway rather than idle about the front and knock, lest he draw the ire of whichever of his superiors was currently inside. Instead, Dimitri pressed his back to the wall and laid both his hands overtop of his cane, occasionally puffing his cigar and blowing out either a stream or ring of smoke while he waited for the briefing to end. The reason for Dimitri's idling was simple: He wanted a mission, preferably something difficult to keep his skills from getting dull.

While in the middle of thinking on how to escape the situation he was in, a scary looking guy came in and Alejandro felt a bit nervous. Then he spoke and said the trouble maker should come forward but Alejandro didn't think himself a trouble maker. So he decided to step to him before he went to sniff him out. But then Alejandro pulled out his sombrero and fake mustache out and put them. "¡Hola! Señor. But I'm not a trouble maker, I'm simply a normal and healthy estudiante," he said with his hispanic accent. He was nervous about the spar but he tried with all his might to look confident in front of his class.

The song finished, and as if by permission Mithias felt the breeze again. The majority of the storm had passed, evidenced by the soft rumble of thunder downwind. He crouched on the scenic ledge and simply enjoyed the scene. A hawk bobbed its head at him from its nest several yards away. Its golden eyes matched his own, and he smiled at it. The poor creature was so blind in darkness.

It was time to get moving. Mithias looked at the darkened bow in his hand. It would still work, but the gloss was ruined. He began to walk down the small mountain. He had been lucky, but also deft, over the years, being able to amass a small fortune in investments under various alias names. Money was so powerful. He didn't even need to show his face in person anymore due to modern technology and the internet. Makeup, disguises, old dying man stories, etc. were no longer necessary. And the best part of all was that neither lycan nor fanatical followers of the queen had been able to upset his carefully laid out structure. Both of them had the advantage of group organization however, and both had many members that could pass as human and manipulate the human world. Mithias had to do everything on his own, and in secret. Nonetheless, there wasn't a lot for him to worry about... until recently.

Werewolves had somehow jumped on the vampire-hunter bandwagon, en masse. It was as if they had decided to take the heat off themselves by targeting another immortal species. It wasn't right, it wasn't justice... and if they succeeded in wiping out every last vampire, they themselves would be the next targets. Mithias had long been contemplating the source of this anti-vampire fanaticism. Certainly, he himself had been guilty of vampire hunting, but it had been a long time since he had been so stupid. Someone had started this ridiculous fad, and it needed to end quickly, lest he would lose everyone he had ever loved.

Mithias walked down from his beloved peaceful wilderness toward the dingy human city below.
