So while sitting in a car, driving for a couple hours, I was listening to a song that gave me a cool vibe for like a medieval times RP, but as always, with a twist!

There will be the classic legend of Evil taking over the land, with no hope, and all that jazz. And a group of heroes with different skills steps up, and stops the evil, but they don't kill it. They know the evil will return, and they vowed that they will be there when it comes back. Using magic, they preserve their souls in a sleep, waiting for the day the evil will return..

It is modern day, and (you guessed it!) the evil erupts, and starts to destroy the world... The protector's souls awaken, and reincarnate in a person whose soul is like theirs. It doesn't control them, or kill them or anything. They are conscious, and then have the abilities, knowledge, and memories of the heroes. I was thinking like an Avatar thing, where you have to concentrate to use certain powers like looking through memories, or knowledge and more complex skills

They also have a certain symbol burned in their palm, and it glows any color you guys want... and, they have the ability to call in the hero's signature weapon (for example: A sword, bow and arrow, staff, etc)

The souls say they have to group with the others, and they go on a quest to destroy the evil!

What I think would be cool:

If the GM(or each of the players, doesn't matter) makes the hero characters of the past, and each player makes their own modern character. And then the heroes are matched with the modern characters. Either randomly, or based off of Jones' judgement.

Interesting idea, but I personally can't really endorse it, since I want my powers, not somebody else's.

And as for that idea, Gisk, That's kinda what I was going for in a way haha. The heroes awaken, and choose the modern character on the soul and personality and background that is similar to theirs, so they don't have a constant battle on whats good or not.

And it could also be someone who doesn't really show their real personality, so they can disagree with the hero that chose them, but in the end, the heroes made the right choice in who they chose

I'd be interested in this.

My character would be a very troubled warrior who has been tormented by his past for many years. His suffering has turn him into a shell of his former self, but the soul that comes into him would either try to redeem him or corrupt him even more - not sure yet.

If we're talking about characters now, I'm thinking of a scythe-wielding shadow manipulator.
