Her eyes are a dark, almost black, brown in a pretty face. She is of average height, with a delicate build and the constant diet now forced on her left her a little too skinny. Even though one would have to take a closer look to see it, she has some decent muscles, not bulky or anything, but firm. Her skin is light, a little rosy in color, though now usually dirty or hidden by her clothes. She wears well-worn, fitted jeans, that don't hinder her movements, held safely in place by a just as well-worn leater belt, a simple black tank-top -tucked inside the jeans-, a dark, wine-red, wide, hoodie zipped up overneath and, when it gets colder, a dark green cargo-jacket with lots of pockets that she keeps in her simple, black bagpack together with something to eat, drink and a few medical necessities she managed to accquire over time. Her footwear is a pair of worn brown boots, going up mid-calf and tightly laced with black laces in the front. She wears a pair of simple, silver-rimmed glasses, because of near-sightedness.

Takiko started out studying medicine at University, but after finishing her third semester realized that it was just not what she really wanted to do with her life. Starting anew she signed up for Literature and Languages (just made that up, I'm german, so I'm not sure if the university-system you know is the same as what I'm used to), in a city far from home and was absolutely happy with it when the spreading infection kept her from going beyond her 4th semester.
She has always been a sportive girl, used to do Jiu Jitsu until Middle School, joined the track and field club in High School and settled for regular, long jogs through the park and martial arts/self-defence courses twice a week ever since she started going to university.
When she got accepted at her favourite choice for her Lit&Lang Studies, she moved away from the city she had used to live, and where her parent's house had been close to, and therefore also rather far away from them (Not naming any cities, since I have not much of an idea what is where or where this is placed).
The first few days after the infection had spread she had still been able to contact them, mostly through sms, with the ring turned off, to make as little noise as possible and keep from attracting the 'things'. But that hadn't worked well for too long, their mobilephones needing to be charged and the general chaos at the time hindering them. Now, Takiko holds on to the hope of them still being alive and maybe searching for her the same way she was searching for them.

Ryan is known for always having his trusty(dirty and used, but working) watch on his left hand. Another signature of him are his MP3 headphones, usually found around his neck or in his ears.
Personality: Ryan is a kind, friendly individual, although the days of the disaster have hardened his emotions. He is very suspicious towards strangers and thus it's hard to earn his trust, but he's very loyal to those, who managed to. He is very tech-savvy and has great know-how of computers and everything related to them. He learns fast, which made him able to acquire a good deal of all-around knowledge. He loves to speak and put his talking skills to test - debate.
Music is also a vital part of his life and he has a great sense of rhythm.
However, as he spent a lot of his time in front of a computer, he lacks physical strength and is pretty clumsy at times.

Timothy Volk grew up in the Northeastern part of South Dakota on a farm stead. His father's side of the family is a long time standard of being in the military and also due to Native American Heritage big into survival training and practicing of their customs. His mothers' side of the family is mostly farmers and college graduates who are extremely intelligent and very fast learners. From a young age Tim was taught how to farm and fix farm equipment and motor vehicles on the fly with very little resources on hand. Also was put through ruck sack hikes and military boot camp style training, such as learning how to properly use and maintain firearms of wild variety.
Due to his background Tim excelled well into school and had great interests in tinkering with anything he could get his hands onto wanting to learn how everything ticked and worked. He also had a wild imagination and loved hand to hand combat and also sword play which his father had taught him on a day to day basis. When Tim was a teenager he took this a little to far and studied swords and metallurgy in order to have a background in smithing and machining in order to ply a craft or trade in order to make money in his later life. At the age of 18 Tim applied for the military but was turned down due to certain problems. From being rejected from the military Tim decided to go out into the world and learn more about it from culture to job experience he traveled the East Coast from Maine to Florida before he returned home to South Dakota. After returning he went to a local University and studied mathematics and history to hopefully earn his bachelor degree while working a full time job.
When the apocalypse happened Tim gathered his traveling and fathers military gear and met up with his friends. Due to one of his buddies they decided to go East in order to commandeer a bought and head out to less populated islands where they could live off the land and stay away from roaming bandits and monsters hoping to live out for a few years before returning to mainland to see what humanity had left to offer. But one faithful night just east of Duluth, Minnesota Tim and company were attacked by raiders. Split up after the attack he continued east hoping to find a trace of his friends or complete the mission the friends and him had set out to do.

History: Before the monsters entered everyone's lives, Dean lived a pretty normal life. He attended high school, and had generally good grades, participated in a couple of clubs, and was on the baseball team. His life really wasn't anything special, but he would give everything to have it back.
Dean managed to get into a university somewhere in California, along with 2 of his closest friends. They dreamed to go to college together, and it was coming true, so they celebrated, and decided to make the drive there from Columbus, Ohio. Upon their arrival, they witnessed the horror and first sightings of these monsters that inhabit the world today. The University had experienced an outbreak. Dean and his friends ran, sticking together, and decided to return home to their families. Unfortunately, they never made it back. Whilst driving one of the creatures jumped in front of their vehicle, causing them to skid off road, the car flipped, killing both his friends, and injuring Dean.
From there on, Dean did his best to survive in the forest, healing his wound as best he could and carving a spear out of wood. To his luck, a group of 5 survivors were making their way through the forest to a cabin owned by one of them, and found Dean in the forest. They took him in.
For a year Dean lived with these people, going back and forth from town, salvaging what they could. Compared to the situation they were living a safe enough life, until one night, on their way back to the cabin, one of the creatures had tailed them. Catching the group by surprise, it managed to infect one of the members of the group, and he another, until only Dean was left. He gathered what he could, hopped in their car and was off.
He was distraught. These people were his friends, and now only mindless creatures. From here on he developed trust issues, in fear he would experience the pain of a loss once more. Dean began his journey back to Columbus, Ohio, in search of his family.

Short history/personality: Emma's parents hid her in a small area at a young age in order to save her from an attack. Unfortunately her parents couldn't quite handle the situation and were killed. She was forced to be independent since she turned twelve and has been fending for herself ever since then. She's not very trusting of other people and tends to go with her own gut over others. Despite her hard past, she's got a bubbly personality and sarcastic tongue. Her big mouth has gotten her in trouble on more than one occasion. Additionally, Emma had asthma from a young age and although she hasn't had many recent attacks, she still has to carry around an inhaler.
