Rex continued going through the database. Chupacabra... hupia... cherufe... huay chivo... nagual... the attack pattern doesn't fit any of them, he thought. Chupas drain blood; hupia kidnap babies; cherufe use fire; and if it was a huay chivo or nagual, there would be a lot more carnage, since they attack with claws and fangs.

Hours passed before they were over Costa Rica. It was a beautiful sight. Wolf's slept long enough, thought Rex, and shook her gently.

"Right now, actually," Jock answered. The sea plane descended towards the ocean below. The water was so clear, Rex could see shoals of small fish, and even a few sharks, perhaps four to six feet in length.
