Flood forgave Nicholas pretty easily. "Hey I remember hearing about a talent show from someone a couple of days ago. When do you think that's happening?"

"I have not heard of this talent show but it does sound...interesting" Nicholas said tapping his long fingers on the table he was a little interested even though he had no talent to be used in the show but perhaps he could show them something amazing.

Kat kept quiet as one of the unknown faces from earlier spoke to Flood, and it didn't take long to realise Nicholas had been the student he had been venting about. She decided to remain uninvolved, there was no benefit to her in aggravating the situation, though she understood where Devika's comment came from. There was nothing in his eyes, his tone, both empty. It wasn't unnerving as much as eerie, though she had seen similar and stranger. Perhaps it was the setting more than the behavior itself.

"Talent show? A showcase of skills, yes? I suppose it could be amusing." Kat mused, thinking over what skills the students here would offer, and what she could offer in return. For someone as flaunting as she was, the idea seemed alien to her.

Kaiden nodded to Kalinda "Yeah I completely get what you mean. That's comforting to hear." He grinned, leaning his head down on her shoulder. Just a moment later he was jolted upright by the sound of someone crashing in to the room. Kaiden looked to the entrance seeing Phoebe getting up from apparently falling down over...something. He glanced towards Flood and the ones in conversation.

Kaiden threw a piece of paper from his pocket at the back of Flood's head to get his attention.

"Hey Flood! What were you saying about a talent show?" Kaiden asked curiously.

Flood tilted his head and turned around. "I heard there was going to be a talent show soon. I just don't know when." He explained.

"Oh," Kaiden replied, leaning back in his seat. "I hope it's not mandatory to participate" he laughed softly. He looked at Kalinda and asked "would you do anything?"

Kalinda had been a picked shocked when Kadian had laid his head on her shoulder, but hadn't minded. She sighed to herself, opening her notepad, looking up when Kadian asked what she would do for a talent show. She frowned slightly.

Would she be able to go up on stage without causing mass fear due to her stage fright? She didn't know, and that just ticked her off.

She took two deep steadying breaths and said "something with my guitar, or with my dancing" she said, "I promised Zack and Griffin I would dance for them, but haven't done that yet. Maybe I'll dance" the. She could just focus on the movements, and not worry about the crowd.

He shook his head, letting his hood fall off, then pulled off his sweater. The room was getting warmer as more students entered so he figured class must be starting soon. "You can dance and play guitar? That's pretty cool. I'm not so coordinated. I'm really good at speed jump roping, running, parkour, but when it comes to dancing I have two left feet. I draw a little bit but nothing else" he shrugged. He wouldn't participate unless it was mandatory, that's for sure.

Connor nodded "it's always around fighting." He said. He had thought long and hard, and finally decided he needed to fight both with his armor and without. There would be times, he was sure, that he'd have to fight without his armor, and he needed to be parlayed for that. He frowned suddenly, "where's the blade you got from Thor?"

Kijani's eyes showed a flash of deep pain, and she made herself busy fixing her shirt as they walked. "I don't know. If anyone asks, I'm perfecting my unarmed combat before I return to the blade." It wasn't a lie, and as long as she didn't have to face Thor directly, she could get away with it. To Thor she would have to have a much better story- that weapon was an extension of herself, and walking around without it was akin to having one arm tied behind her back for no reason. Her mind went from emotion to emotion in blinding sequence: anger, guilt, shame, despair, piling up on each other like a ten car highway disaster. "I really hope I don't have to fight anyone today... I might really hurt them." For once it wasn't a boast, but a worry. All of this emotion was going to find a release, and she could only hope that it wasn't in the vicinity of someone's body parts. Yanking open the door to Power Development, she slid into a chair and started organizing her note-taking materials to give herself something to focus on.

Katherin settled into the power development class. She wondered what they would do this time. Most of them had fought Mimic and had individual battles. So she wondered what would come next. She looked around curious about the new students.

Griffin took his seat toward the back of the classroom. He knew that power development meant that some or all of them would be doing battle. He liked watching people battle. He enjoyed pitting his skills against others more.

Kalinda shrugged "I enjoyed doing dance-my mother was thrilled I did, and when I was five I was a master of a toy guitar, and over the years I learned how to play. When I confined myself to my room when my powers developed, playing was a way to express myself that would destroy the neighborhood-my telekenisis is connected to my emotions" she said, "maybe you can teach me a bit of parkour, and I'll teach you a bit of guitar?" She asked, as they continued to wait for mimic

Connor wished he hadn't brought the blade up, but he nodded, "alright" he said softly, as he began to think what would ahe happened to her sword, when she was taken. He was more then sure that she wouldn't have been without it-Kijani had been so excited and proud to have the sword given to her by Thor. Which meant Anthony had to know where it was. He sighed and sat down "you might be lucky. It doesn't look as if Mimics here, and class is just about to start"

As the bell chimed to announce the start of class, there was still no Mimic. Then, the usually unused projector mounted in the ceiling came down, putting a digital image on the classroom wall. It was Mimic, and he looked... well, not pleasant. His face was drawn and pale, his eyes were tired, and while he seemed to be seated, it was clear that there was little energy in his body.

"Students. Get settled." His voice was rather nasal and more pissy than usual. "I seemed to have absorbed someone's flu, so in the interests of not causing an epidemic, I'll be teaching from a distance." He inhaled suddenly and let out a series of racking coughs. "You'll be fighting in teams of two. My choosing." He scanned the classroom with his tired eyes, his gaze resting briefly on the new students before moving on. "The list of pairs is as follows:

Austin & Kyra
Phoebe & Katherin
Conner & Zack
Nacelle & Devika
Kat & Kalinda
Flood & Nicholas
Kijani & Kaiden

I hope you paid attention to that, because the first pair will be fighting the second, the third fighting the fourth, et cetera. Kijani and..." He wiped his nose on the back of his hand, grimaced, and continued. "Nightcrawler Jr. Hold off until one fight finishes, then battle the loser."

There was a long pause, as he surveyed the students. "I'll be watching the entire time. Anyone who doesn't cooperate gets to take out my tissue garbage. With their bare hands. Get to it!"

"Great a barbaric battle just what i needed.." Nicholas muttered to himself tapping his fingers on his table,That was when turned to Flood with a blank look on his face."And now we have to face those two...Do you know anything about them and what their powers are?" He asked pointing his head to Kijani & Kaiden and had thought and mental notes of how to beat them.

When the image of Mimic flicked onto the screen, the sight of his sorry state lead to a dazzling smile from Kat. She was clearly enjoying his misery. However she kept quiet and listened to what he had to say as the plan for the lesson was outlined. It was rather standard, fighting as usual, but the pairs added another element. It was not that she only ever fought alone but when she did fight with others, they were people she knew well. This would definitely be different, and probably clumsy.

Looking around the class she found Kalinda and called out to her. "Looks like it's you and me. Ready to give 'em hell?" She bantered, a smile still playing on her lips.

Kalinda listened and sighed. Flood and Nicholas. She assumed Nicolas was the other new student. Flood was crazy, and his emotions were always a swirl, but perhaps Kalinda could use that to her advantage. She nodded, looking up when Kat called to her., and she rose "have fun" she said to Kadian, but she was worried he didn't have enough control. So she'd just have to hope Kat and her could finish their fight quickly.

"As ready as I'll ever be" she said to Kat, looking to flood and Nicholas "let's go"

"We're fighting Kat and Kalinda actually. And I know little about Kat. Kalinda does stuff with emotions. She also has shadow manipulation powers if the files I read on her are correct. I love how Batman is so paranoid about hackers that he keeps all files on paper." Flood explained as quietly as he could to Nicholas. Flood looked over at Kalinda as she called him. "Oh hell yeah!" He jumped over his desk as he rushed to the sparring area. "Come on Nicholas, you're support."

Kaiden turned to the projector as Mimic made his digital announcement for his first power developement class. He gritted his teeth as Mimic called him 'Nightcrawler Jr.' and clenched his hands in to fists. That was the last thing he wanted people around here calling him. When he saw who he was paired with he widened his eyes in surprise. He turned and looked at Kijani. A wave of anger flushed over him, his face slightly warm with the memory of their last encounter, which was brief, violent, and embarrassing. Kaiden hadn't planned on ever having to deal with Kijani again, and yet here he was. How was he supposed to fight with someone that probably still hated him? She had every reason not to trust him and he had no desire to work with her. And yet he didn't see that he had any other choice. He vaguely saw Kalinda leave and responded with a "you too", his mind already racing. How could he fight when he still couldn't perfect the one power he knew he had? And teleporting was not something that could easily win a fight; it seemed to him to be more of a defensive strategy.

Kaiden walked towards Kijani, glancing over to see the first pair move towards the sparring area. He had no idea how powerful Kijani was but he could only assume she was weak after what had happened earlier today. He felt furious about the matches and how unfair it felt with the pairing. He had never sparred before and knowing they would have to fight a narcissistic, belligerent psycho (that would be Flood) made him apprehensive for their turn in the ring. He was pretty sure Flood and Nicholas would win at their turn in the spar and he dreaded having to go up against Flood.

Kaiden turned his head to Kijani. He had a lot of assumptions, many of which he could be honest enough with himself were probably wrong, and they needed a plan of attack. This would obviously not be his last sparring and he was determined to learn and improve his skills. "So, uh, what do you have to bring to the table?"

Kijani looked puzzled as she looked at the list projected on the screen. Who was Kaiden? When did they get a Kaiden? But her stomach dropped as she saw the boy from earlier today walking toward her. She let out a weak sigh through her nose, and then looked toward him. Luckily, his question was more intelligent than his manners. That was at least hopeful.

"I'm a bit underpowered at the moment. I usually carry a sword and have my powers, but as I'm currently without either, I just have to rely on my speed and martial arts training. I'm very agile, and flexible. Not particularly strong, but I can get in enough blows that it usually doesn't matter." She smiled at him for the first time, a trace of her usual fire in it. "I'm also a bitch. It comes in handy- you'd be surprised how thin some of the skin is on our classmates." The words were ironic, considering she felt rather raw and defenseless herself.

"I guess you're some kinda teleporter? I mean, aside from Mimic calling you Junior- which is obvious to see that you hated- there was the fact that you interrupted a very private conversation." She shut her eyes, and then opened them. "Put it behind you. Again, I am a bitch, and I don't take kindly to strangers thinking they're expressing concern." Her gaze went cold, distant. "Strangers don't care about strangers. If blood relatives can stab you in the back and leave you for dead, you feeling genuine concern for someone whose name you don't know is pretty much bullshit." She didn't realize what was actually coming out of her mouth, or that her words could even be completely heard. Her eyes returned to the present without her showing any sign that she'd said anything out of order.

"Anyway, aside from the teleporting, what else do you have to offer?"

Kaiden listened to Kijani speak of her current abilities for their sparring and they sounded very much like his. He was surprised at how much she was talking to him. He thought that she would turn her nose to him the moment he walked up but he could tell she wanted to take on their challenege given their circumstances; he liked that about her. He felt relief wash over him as she gave him a smile. And as Kijani kept taking, he listened quietly, eyes fixed on her, taking in what she was saying, which was turning out to be quite a bit. He frowned as she mentioned their first encounter but began to relax as she seemed to let it be in the past. He felt for a moment as if she was saying something more personal than he should hear, a piece of her story it seemed and what she had been through. Something happened to her from someone close, family. He couldn't imagine ever going through something like that. He didn't respond as she almost seemed to not realize what she said, but rather just watched her a moment until she asked her final question.

"Yeah, I pretty much teleport. That's all the powers I know I have. My dad says I will probably develop more, especially going through the school. I only realized I could teleport a year ago and I don't have much control" Kaiden said. "As you already experience" he added. He wanted to apologize and tell her the emotions he felt for her, caring for her, were real even though they were indeed strangers, but he had a gut feeling that he should keep that to himself; so he did.

"You know, there is one thing I've noticed. I haven't mentioned it to my dad, but there have been times when I've made direct eye contact with people, that I feel a sort of empowerment. I don't know what it means but I feel like I have a different sort of control, specifically with the person I'm looking at. Nothing has ever happened, nor have I really tried anything, but it's the only other strange experience I've had that could be another ability."

Kaiden hoped he didn't sound to fanatical. His powers were still new to him and it seemed strange to think of more abilities he could have and what he could do with them.

Connor listened as mimic told them what they were doing today. Pairing up seemed like a good idea, but they all had different ways of fighting and viewing things, as well as doing things. It would be interesting, and he quickly figured out that they would be fighting Nacelle and Devika. He didn't know much about Nacelle, but Devika used emotions. He didn't know if she had other abilities, or even how her empathic abilities worked, but he decided he'd use his suit-if it worked by touch, she wouldn't be able to touch his skin, and therefore he could help Zack out without fear. If it worked differently, then they would just have to figure it out as they went along.

As Kadian came over to Kijani, beginning to speak with her, and Connor recognised him as the student that had teleported and interrupted them earlier. As Kijani seemed to not realise what she was saying, Connor winced, but then she seemed to come out of it and he sighed. He rose, hoping she would be okay, brushing his arm with hers, just hoping to provide some sort of reassurance, as he headed over to "the boys" as he had dubbed them. He never knew if it was Zack or Griffin in control, but had interacted with both at least once. "Zack? Or Griffin?"

Phoebe was pleased to be paired up with Katherin. She knew her friend, knew her abilities, and could work easily with Katherin. She smiled, feeling relief, looking over to Austin and Kyra. She had never been too sure what Kyras abilities were, but Austin's seemed pretty much obvious.

She turned to Katherin, "are you ready?" She asked, it would be good for once to have someone to fight with, to defend and work with. And she knew they'd be able to do well together.
