I know you feel it's the best choice for you and a chance to reclaim your life, but I think it's pretty damn brave making this decision. I hope your operation goes well and it brings you the closure you need.

There isn't much I can add other than another note of admiration for the consistent humour and mental fortitude with which you've approached this longstanding suffering. I'm glad you won't have to stand it much longer, at the very least - this is certainly a step in the right direction.
Jokes aside, I mean the first sentence. You've shown a real resilience and positivity in dealing with this and it's really freaking impressive. We're all behind you, as much as we can be.
