I'm not about the NSA breaking into the main communication links of our major search engines. Let's not let them collect billions of records per day about where we are and what we're doing.

Go to thedaywefightback.org and start protesting.

Except the NSA isn't a branch of the US Government but an Agency of the Executive Branch...

Yeah, that would fall under the heading of 'semantics.' The errors do not prevent one from getting the point of the joke, nor do they make it any less amusing.

(addendum: I'm sure no one will believe me, because yeah, teh interwebz, but I really did know that was an error before posting it. I just didn't think it was that big a deal. Whoopsie.)

That picture is fantastic, Seuss. It made me chuckle.

I honestly don't believe any internet movements are going to change how the NSA does things. They've been monitoring everyone for as long as they've been a thing, the only difference was this time, they got caught.

Internet protests are about as effective as a snowball fight in the Middle East. Sure, it's neat to look at for a little while, but then it melts away with no substance.

As I recall, my reaction to the whole issue of internet surveillance was like, "Where have you guys been living?" It seems like a no-brainer in the post-9/11 environment. But there seems to be a lot of buyer's remorse these days. There certainly wasn't when all this nashnul securitah stuff got spun up. Too bad, really.
