I love cross over ideas, and I think I have the perfect idea do to one that won't feel like random colors thrown onto a canvas(though technically that's what it is.) See, our characters , were normal people living in this world. That's right, we're here, existing as normal individuals, going through the motions of everyday life. Then, one day, we discover, together or apart, we can jump, and when we do, we end up in another world previously thought to be purely fictitious be it the star wars universe, the world of the Dresden files, the pokemon planet, or whatever have you. By "Whatever have you" I mean, whatever have you. There's no reason we couldn't end up in the past of our own world, or an alternate universe from any fandom preferred, or something completely original. Nothing is off limits. We could go to a dimension were characters from yuyu hakusho, bleach, and digimon all exist like its the most natural thing in the world. The only limit, and yes I'm aware of how quickly I turned into a hypocrite with this, will be our characters won't be able to jump for a while, because I'd like for us to have the chance to play around in the worlds and not just skip out when things seem too hard. AT least, that'll be the case at the beginning, and maybe some time later on, we'll be able to go at will.

Abilities, we all love them and everyone wants them! Personally, I'd prefer if our characters started developing something after they make their first jump so they'll be able to defend themselves in whatever new world they find themselves in. I'd just rather it not be anything overly strong so there's room to expand. Growth is one of the main things I want to focus on, this rp, because I think it'll be so cool if our characters took on more and more traits, abilities, and items from the different worlds they visited. The skills gained would be gradual so hopefully this rp will go for a while.

Arcs, okay. This is a notion I'd love to see, but its kind of dependent on the rest of the group, because it involves everyone. So, what if everyone involved was in charge of planning out, and possibly executing an arc? We'd all get a shot at putting our characters in the spotlight, sort of. I think it would be fun, but that would be a group decision.

We wouldn't be the only jumpers. Perhaps some of the enemies later on will be jumpers that have acquired abilities through their own travels.

Of course everything's up for debate, and there's nothing set in stone. I'd love to get some feeback on this.

Sorry about the long wait. Work, and then dogs, and then studying for finals. It's crazy, I tell you!
I'm glad to hear it! Welcome aboard Tachi!
So does anyone have anything they'd like to add, or comment on? I don't have too much. I'm still trying to think up how the character's growth is going to be. I'd like for there to be no regulations on abilities so long as people gain them gradually and don't OP them, but I've seen ideas like that fail. The same thing with stat based systems. It's a tricky area, I think!
Also, oh wow, we're already on five interests. O.O

Also, does anyone have any ideas preferences in regards to what kind of world our characters should find themselves in first?

Hm. I may be interested in this. Sound kind of cool, and I'm a big fan of character development and arcs. So, how would our characters meet? Would they all happen to jump to the same world at the same time? How widely known is it that some people can jump?

As for suggestions for the first world, do something you know. I also wouldn't mind something medieval and magic themed, like Skyrim or Fire Emblem. Also, props dude, this idea is ingenious.

Aww, that's the first thing I thought of as well. Suppose I'll need to go with someone else. Maybe resurrect an original character or something.

I'm interested, at least for now. I'll stick around, see what comes of this.

Damn, did I really read it that wrong?

Well now, I'm sorry. Hastiness is hasty. Still like the idea, though.

For starting world... Probably best to go with something a lot of people are familiar with, and one that would help ease them into the whole multiverse thing I guess. If that makes sense. Although I'm drawing a blank on specific ideas. ^^;

Yeah, they'd all jump at the same time, and find themselves in the same world, within a relatively close range of one another. I'm thinking that'll be a thing with jumpers: Their first jump is always at the same time, towards the same place, with a set group of people. Maybe there's some kind of cosmic clock that rings, and the ring activates something in certain individuals, and that's what jumping really is, and when people learn how to control it more, really their just navigating the cosmic sound waves, or something like that. Eh. I'd say it semi common knowledge like people from most universes have at least heard of jumpers before, but most haven't met any, and a good deal believe them to be no more than legends.

I haven't played Fire Emblem, but I'm a big fan of skyrim so that might do. Plus, I don't think its TOO harsh of a world for new characters to survive in, and there skills people can pick up there. So that could work. Is there anyone here that's not familiar with the elder scroll games, or who maybe would like to see something different? I'm always up for suggestions.

While I do like Skyrim and TES in general, saying that it isn't harsh is a bit silly. I mean as a game might be easy, yeah. But if just a regular person(even if they knew about jumping) would be thrust into a world full of dragons, trolls and so on, they wouldn't survive all that long unless they were like... super people.

I would suggest some place that's relatively modern and "safe," yet has a battle element to it. Lets our characters to get used to the situation instead of getting immediately killed.

I don't know any universes like that though. And this is an RP, there isn't much need for "realism."
