I've also got a concept. Setting up a sort of early/middle-plot general antagonist deity.

Okay, I'll give you both a bit of time to write something up. Also that antagonist idea you had; you can have a nation that is a jerk/attacks others, but it has to seem right if you understand what I'm saying. Everything will have to seem natural and be written so, and any 'random' acts of aggression will be looked down on, coupled with the fact war is a lengthy process so the preparation alone will take a few distanced posts.

Oi. There's nothing wrong with midbosses. Or mini-bosses, as the case may be.

The shtick is not so much a wanton, war-loving aggressor- that would be Yilig Cro- as much as a foreign imperializer on the divine scale, with an unhealthily heavy messianic complex. Reading, 'in the old scars left by the gods, dark tendrils have started to creep out towards Roa, bringing with them something awful,' I had a bit of inspiration, although certainly not to be part of or in any way aligned with that dark whatsit. I'll PM you my guesswork at the implication, Saint. If I'm off the mark, revising is in order, and I'm prepared.

Any idea what dominion(s) you plan to have? Since we seem to not allow sharing of dominions.

Big, cumbersome, presumptuously prideful junk. Stars, snakes, wisdom in the gross sense, liberation in the theological sense, lordship in the sense of absolute hierarchy and wonders. Think the Tower of Babylon. Megaprojects.

Well, the sun wasn't known as a star for a long time through history, and deities were often of a single celestial body, or the stars.

So depending of how faith in this setting works, ie, if its what people believe, is real. Then the sun is... the sun.
But if its not, and the above mentioned is just superstition, then its most assuredly a star.

I think this is up to the GM since he didn't mention this in the setting description.

Well, studying the lay of the land, i feel this seems reasonable.
I've drawn some mountains, and the darker area is my realm. With a volcano with the fortress capitol to the west.
Large parts of the borders are mountains, but almost equally large portions are more regular borders.

I thought the winds primarily blew to the east. Therefore the ash formed like this.
In my exmple i gave myself some coast. But if i have grabbed too much land, i've added the blue lines, and will be content with just what's to the left of those.
My thought was, lots of land, but not very lucrative land. And the population is centered more around the purple cities.



Thoughts on this are welcome.

Oh, and what program was used making the map?

Upon looking at it I might need to make it a bit bigger. Yeah for now i'll add that in; made it on warcraftIII's world editor because i'm lazy.

Btw, you'll love this map i'm making for the dominions game.

This version is crap, but in the program (paint.net and later gimp) one can zoom in on all the little details. Like the angry tree in the west.

Okay; a few things to clear up. Cyclone, you still need to write up a 'Nation' part for your character sheet.
Senor Herp (I know i'm still talking to you) and The Captain, you both need to actually apply, if you're not on the map you're not in the game.
Durandal, Rhymer and Cyclone (once you finish your sheet), let me know where you want to be and any other guidelines for your nation.
If anyone has a problem with the layout of their nation let me know and i'll see what I can do.

Yeah, I've been busy so I haven't had much of an opportunity to finish the sheet. I will try to at least outline my nation by the end of today. Maybe add a bit more to my god sheet as well.

I'm feeling some inspiration from the Ptolemaic Kingdom, so can my nation consist of a large desert to the south, with a huge river through the middle and fertile riverside floodplains where everyone lives? It'd probably look better if you use the Warcraft editor but if you want I could draw it myself using paint.

Wow, that map is amazing. It actually looks better than some of the official ones that came with Dominions 3.

I'll see what I can do but probably won't be finished with the map until late today/tomorrow so there's no huge rush. It really all jut depends on when people let me know what they want and when I'm at home. As long as I know you're in the process of writing something up we'll wait. Rhymer, yeah that's very achievable.
