Alex opened his eyes and stretched. He had been asleep for a few minutes, or so he thought. Alex stood up and checked his weapon on his back. It was still chained and clothed on his back. Must have been more tired than I thought. Alex thought before he walked towards the academy and its dorms. After finding his room number he proceeded towards it and unlocked the door.

“Not a bad shindig if you ask me,” Alex said to himself as he examined his room. He was the only one inside the room but he figured who ever his roommate was they’d be there shortly. The weapon on his back twitched to which Alex sighed, “Does it matter if it’s another demon hunter? I’m sure they wouldn’t put two demon hunters in the same dorm. Besides, it might be fun to learn about the other hunter classes.” With that he took his weapon from his back and placed it onto his bed and began to unpack.

Estelle surely didn't expect her roommate to be a boy, one of a known family no less, could the mangers of this place be testing her or did her family's significance fade out completely already? Considering even Estelle didn't carry the old family surname anymore the chances were on the later

"Well hello Edge, I'm Estelle Bertillon, I think we will be sharing this room for a while" the boy started to unpack his stuff and she couldn't help but to peek at all the tomes and books he had, some quite rare, as expected of someone with such ancestry "I'm training to become a demon hunter, not sure if its because of family tradition or because I'm too stingy to sell my soul. Oh and yeah I saw your fight with Pendragon, you did well by spilling his oh so noble blood across his face"

Finally his comment about what the day stored brought her to a more serious tone "Well, my specialization is Divination, being ready is literally my duty. And yeah, I hope everybody stays fine, though if someone had to die it would be best for it to be now when nobody created strong links than later... Ah ,sorry, I didn't want to be this morbid"

"Nice to meet you too, Eisen," she said, shaking his hands as well. It was a firm handshake, but she wasn't about to be outdone. She held his hand as firmly as he did hers. "I'm from Texas, in the United States of 'Merica. What about yourself?"

She took a seat on one of the beds. "Hope you don't mind, but I claimed this bed as my own." She was already unpacked but she wasn't sure what to do next. They were going to have their first mission soon but she didn't know where to go. Maybe Eisen would have a better idea of what was going on. She laid back, making herself comfortable while she waited for him to finish unpacking.

It was too early to know, but Eisen seemed like a decent guy. She could have been living with some worse creep. Hopefully they would get along just fine. Oh, that probably means they are probably on the same team too. She wondered who else was going to be on their team.

@karamonnom "My family is from Spain. I come form a long line of Witch hunters. I don't mind you taking that bed at this point what difference does it make". She seemed nice but he didn't want to get to befriend her. Not at this point, he wanted to make sure she survived this mission before making her a friend.

Eisen was assessing the situation. He was the type of guy who could figure things out real easily. He knew they would take a mission soon, but it seemed strange they would do it before training or any education. "They must be filtering out the weak" he thought. "They don't want to take time teaching those who cant survive the heat. These guys are serious". This is why he couldn't get close to any one at this point. An emotional impact this soon would not leave Eisen in the best mental capacity. But he hoped Darlene survived the first mission. She seemed really nice and he could tell she wanted to prove something, much like himself.

"You should prepare yourself for our up coming mission Darlene, we need to be at our best." He didn't mean to be so harsh, but he had seen enough death in his lifetime and didn't want to see any more.

@Frettzo The door was closed when Lilah reached her new room. She hesitated, then raised her hand and knocked, putting on a polite smile that she hoped would cover her nerves. What type of person would she be rooming with? She hoped that it wasn't a witch hunter, even though she was training to be one herself.

Li turned toward the door once the knocking started, setting down the clothes, all either black or white, she was folding and putting inside the closet. She straightened her dress and walked to the door, opening it. She stared at the girl outside the room for a moment. Very young and certainly not comfortable with her situation, if her strained polite smile was something to be led by. Li then stood to the side, extending her arm toward the free bed.

"I take it we're roommates, then." She said with a genuine smile, a contrast to her makeup, dark clothing and behaviour up until then. She just couldn't afford to bring herself to be cold to this girl, as she'd be the one she'd live with from now on.

James found himself quite surprised by his guessing of Li's school, and then suddenly found himself outside of the hall. Li excused herself, and James followed over and went into his own room. Empty. Figures. Like anyone would choose to be room-mates with me he mused in his head, slightly baffled by the idea of anyone actually choosing to be his room-mate, or being randomly chosen for that matter. Around him the shadows converged as he turned on the light, casting aside said shadows unto the corners of the room. He dropped his bag onto the bed and began to unpack the little bits he had brought along: some clothes, a couple daggers, an old spell tome and a necklace bearing the emblem of his family. Not a well known family, that is, but still a moderately respected family of mages none the less.

Unpacking his inventory, James figured he should "practise" some of his abilities before the first mission or training drill. Switching off the light, he forged his clear favourite weapon; a dual barrelled crossbow already loaded - flickering with the thousands of shadows he had woven together to create the masterpiece. It was a great weapon, and very reliable; capable of long distance kills and pinpoint accuracy. The perfect witch killing weapon, as it didn't require the wielder to get close whilst still having enough power to kill one instantly - well, almost instantly. The shadows danced, a their shape flickered from the crossbow to a long, curved sword. A beautifully crafted blade worthy of use by even the Silverhand clan. The shadows were truly magnificent creatures.

St Michael headed for his dorm and after hearing that it would be a two person room he wondered who his roommate would be. He hoped that it wasn't one of the students more prone to violence because that would rather annoying to have to deal with troublemakers. Either way he wouldn't allow a mean student to prevent him from becoming a master demon hunter and his training in the seven virtues of the Catholic faith taught him patience. After a bit of walking he soon came to the dorms and found his room. He saw that there was another boy there with a strange weapon and that gave a few guessed to what type of hunter he was training to be.

"Good afternoon, my name is St Michael and I guess that I'm your roommate" he said to the boy as he put his bag on his bed and unpacked his Axe of Truth and placed the weapon onto the mattress. Unpacking would probably be the easiest part of his stay at the academy and he was ready for whatever this school might throw at him. After he finished taking out his things Michael chose to do a bit of stretching and some push ups to keep his body in shape and once he was done with introductions with his roommate he would try to find a gym or some training area to practice.

Alex looked up and saw a man walk in and introduce himself. Alex smiled and shook the man’s hand and said, “Good to meet you St. Michael. I’m Alexander Cross, but you can call me Alex for short.” Alex’s weapon twitched on his bed as he introduced himself. However, Alex knew the twitching was actually quivering.

“I take it you’re in the Demon Hunter class St. Michael. If I may ask: what group of Demon Hunters are you affiliated with? While I was training with the Holy Cross, they talked about the other groups of Demon Hunters out there,” Alex said. Once again Alex’s weapon twitched and Alex looked over to the weapon and said, “No matter how many times you protest it. You’re going to have to deal with it.” Alex shook his head and laughed.

He listened to Alex introduce himself and as he had guessed the boy was a demon hunter as well. It seemed like Alex also figured out that Michael was one too. Michael tried to remember if he had heard about the Holy Cross organization, the name sounded familiar and he remembered a few of the priest at his church possibly talking about them, but he didn't really stop to listen.

"I am part of The Church of The Fighting Priest. They haven't produced many demon hunters, but they wanted me to come here to train in the arts. They taught me their martial arts and gave me this divine axe as my weapon" he said to Alex and pointed at the slightly glowing weapon. He noticed his roommates weapon twitching and guessed that he might be a crusader with a magical weapon. Michael then listened to Alex speak to the weapon and he wondered if the thing had a mind of its own.

"Is that weapon safe? It looks malevolent" he asked his roommate cautiously. Even though his axe wasn't in his hand he could summon it to him if he wished it.

Edge shrugged. "We could go meet the rest of our team, but their keeping us to our rooms and the upper floors. Training grounds and library are blocked off. I tried to get down their to borrow a few books, magic wards suck when you walk into them." He smiled at that. "They want us here so when they call us for our mission we just head down to the Leyline gate. Should be challenging but tough, like locating a demon or finding a hidden cache of holy weapons. They do that for some students, give them a chance to find lost weapons and take some up, some students don't have enchanted gear and such." He finished.

Down near the end of hall was Daniel Ticos took position. The kids on this hall were his responsibility now, he was going to make Hunters out them. The veteran Witch Hunter took it in strides, he was a first year teacher having just passed the age of forty he decided it would be better to train then hunt. He looked over the list, the Helsing caught his eye. A monster hunter Helsing, that was a twist. These kids were an interesting bunch a lot of them had promise, he just hoped they were ready the mission he had in store was not as simple as the usual stuff. Stepping into the center he coughed then called out. "Hunters! You've got thirty minutes to prepare and talk among yourselves, your the last team to leave for their mission. Meet down by the Leyline Gate and remember to introduce yourselves after all the people beside you are depending on you to keep them alive." He smiled and headed down to the of the hall.

Eisen heard the teacher call for the first mission. He took his armor into the bathroom and started undressing. It didn't take him long to get into his heavy Holy Armour. The Armour was big, bulky and made clanking sounds when he walked, but was designed to keep him alive when he took a hit. He Hopped the mission would not need this much protection, but he didn't want to risk it. After preparing himself, he went strait for the gate and waited for the others. He put the head of his hammer down and rested his right hand on the hilt.

He remembered the teacher saying something about the team relying on each other to keep alive. He couldn't agree more and was looking forward to see the next student come down. He was use to fighting in a team as his family had done so when he lived with them. He, his father, and Uncle would play the roles of the heavy hitters, going in strong and finishing their query with one heavy blow of the hammer. His cousins and siblings usually played the role of long distant hitters, giving him cover as he closed in and making sure they didn't get ambushed. Eventually he earned enough experience to lead his own team into combat.

Eisens stomach grumbled, with all the excitement he forgot to eat today. He cursed at himself for doing so. He assumed he was going to have to just suck it up until the end of the mission.

“I’ve heard of the Church of The Fighting Priest. The Holy Cross thinks of them as a very respectable alley should they ever need their assistance,” Alex said. When Michael asked about his weapon Alex had to laugh. He picked up his weapon that was still chained and clothed. The weapon twitched in his hand before Alex explained, “This is my Weapon called Soul Eater. The Holy Cross gives their warriors enchanted weapons called Soul Edge. Each one is able to absorb and trap evil, malevolent, and corrupted souls. So no it’s not a danger to you or anyone here. However, a Soul Edge has other abilities besides absorbing and trapping souls.” Alex placed his weapon back onto his bed and sighed.

“It’s wrapped and chained because once unwrapped and unchained. People around it can hear the trapped souls screaming in agony and wanting to be released. I’m still learning the proper ways that I can have the weapon unwrapped and unchained without the souls screaming out to others. So for right now I keep it like this,” Alex explained before he added, “What about you? what kind of weapon did the Church of The Fighting Priest give you?”

Alex heard the order and turned to Michael and said, “Looks like we have our first mission. Let’s hope our comrades be safe while we’re on the mission,” Alex said as he picked up his weapon and placed it on his back. I just hope they’re not too scared of Soul Eater. Alex thought.

"Spain? How exotic," she said, her eyes starting to shut. She was already mentally exhausted from the trip; maybe she could afford to rest just for a little moment...

Guess not. Eisen had alerted her to start getting ready and the announcement only supported the idea that she should be getting ready. She didn't really have any armor and all she really had was her ax. This was going to be tough, wasn't it? She was a bit worried, especially when staring at Eisen who had a complete set of armor on with heavy protection. However she had no intention of dying so quickly.

She clutched the charm that her mother had given her; something that was passed down her family for generations as a symbol of good luck and safety. She was not one to pray, but it helped ease her nerves.

Eisen had left quickly without waiting for her. "I guess he's really excited? But we could have at least gone together," she frowned. But now she could change in peace.

She changed into her work out clothes for now. Maybe as the year progress she will be able to get more equipment. It was not like her father was going to help her out at all with that. She tied her long brown hair into a tight ponytail. She put on her combat boots and made her way to the Leyline Gate, or whatever it was called. Eileen was already there, but it was just the two of them for now.

"Hey teammate, are you ready? Excited to meet the rest of the team?" she asked with a small smile.

"Makes sense, wouldn't worry too much, I bet once we are out of this mission we will be warded a bit more freedom" almost as soon as she ended talking she heard the call. "Well the time is here, time to get ready". She too didn't rely on armor at all, she needed the velocity so all she could afford for defense were wrapping under her shirt, thanks to that the only thing she had to do to get ready for combat was to pick up a smaller bag from her backpack which contained a few supplies and emergency items as well as her sword, which was stored in its card form.

"Oh wait, I feel something odd" she suddenly commented, closing one of her eyes as she felt the disturbance. "I think its hunger, someone probably skipped a snack on our team" she said as she took two extra cereal bars from her backpack.

As she took a step out of the room she already looked around to see a few of her teammates leaving already, a bit of anxiety crossed her mind as she finally realized it was the time to enter in a combat that was not training or paintball with friends.

@karamonnom "I guess you can call it excitement." He said stoically. Eisen was actually concerned. He had a bad feeling about this mission. Call it intuition.

"Miss Darlene" he said
"Your attire is not optimal for combat. Do you have anything to protect you from damage? What if this mission involves a creature of darkness?"

He was being rude again but he didn't mean it, that was just the type of guy he was. All ways concerned with business. If this mission did involve fighting, He decide the best strategy for Darlene and other team mates without as much Armour as him would be to keep them behind himself. He could shake of the damage and this would allow everyone to get in close and optimize their skills most efficiently.

"Darlene, i see your weapon of choice is a battle Axe. Your light frame compliments your weapons speed well. If we are forced to fight, stay behind me until you can get close enough to do some surprise damage."

Eisen could tell this girl was more then the eye could see. She may show promise to be a very powerful ally.

When Eisen began to voice his concern over her lack of proper armor, Darlene felt the blood rush to her cheeks, more so from embarrassment than anger. He was right, but then again, she wasn't really expecting this. She was a Beast Hunter, and even more specifically a Werewolf Hunter at that. Still, she really wished she had something more suitable than this. "I know, I know," she sighed, playing with her ponytail nervously. "Thanks for your concern."

Maybe he tried to make her feel better because then he started talking about her strengths instead. Or he could just be very matter-of-factly. Either way, she was kind of flattered.

"I'll do my best."

She held onto her ax, moving it around a little and enjoying how it felt in her hand. It did not seem like much, but she has trained a lot with it. Should hunters be allowed to be sentimental? Maybe in the future, she'll get a better ax or weapon, but damn did she love her ax. She began to twirl it as if it was a flag or rifle of a high school color guard. It was a habit she had when she was anxious. Fortunately for the rest of her teammates when they arrive, she hasn't dropped it since... well... she doesn't want to think about the last time she dropped it. It was definitely not pretty.

"But seriously... where is everyone?"

@karamonnom "Thats a good question"
Eisen was wondering that himself. He came from a very strict up bringing where you showed up early to any event. The time waiting for the others was nerve wrecking.

"Maybe they got scared and decided to not show up." That was Eisens best attempt at a joke. He was not a joking kind of guy.

"Tell me Darlene, what made you decide to be a hunter?"
This question was not so much as for curiosity as it was to break the silence.

St Michael listened to Alex explain his supernatural weapon and he was impressed by the weapons capabilities, it sounded very useful for hunting and slaying demons. He also was impressed that the boy knew about his church and that they were alleys of the Holy Cross. He hadn't heard of that too much, but he guessed that he had been too focused on training. When Alex asked him what his Axe of Truth could do, one of the senior hunters called for them to meet for their first mission and Michael felt both excited and nervous at the same time. He reached out his hand and the axe flew into his grasp. Michael then followed Alex to where they would meet for their first mission and then answered his roommate's question.

"My weapon is known as The Axe of Truth, it is of divine origin and its blade is capable of harming all evil and gets past magical defenses very well. It also will always return to me no matter how far I throw it and it can glow brightly in darkness" he explained to Alex as they walked. Michael nodded in agreement when Alex talked about hoping that their allies would remain safe on this mission, he wasn't sure how this would turn out, but he would try his best.

"Only God knows what will come of this mission, it is merely our job to be instruments of his will. One of the tenets of The Seven Paths of God is to know that one is never guaranteed to live through every conflict and it is important to find peace in oneself to show his true potential" he replied to his roommate.

@Frettzo "Yes, I guess we are," said Lilah, her smile remaining the same. "I'm Lilah Regis, I'm going to be a witch hunter." It was so strange to say it out loud; for as long as she could remember she had heard scary stories about witch hunters and what they would do if they found out about her or Mother, and now here she was, becoming the nightmare.

She walked over to the free bed and put down her bags. She sighed quietly with relief not to be lugging them around anymore, although she had left most of her things behind. Everything had changed, after all, herself included, so there was no point in clinging to the past. That was what she told herself, anyway.

Her eyes narrowed slightly when she heard the announcement. "Hunters", "team", this was her life now, time to get used to it. She raised her chin, determined, and walked out through the door.
