I'd like to play House Arryn. Seriously, though, intimidatingly lengthy CS I see.

I'll say yes to Tyrell third cousin. The main line of the family is thin, but beyond that, there are a hell of a lot of cadet branches, or offshoots like the Tyrells of Brightwater

Also, I hate to double post but I am going to make some alterations to my CS- just to fit with what has already been said on some characters. Plus I want to refine parts of the history.

@agentmanatee Interesting, might make Tyron anxious to leave, who knows.

Now that everyone's CSs are in, I'll work on the first IC post.

Yaay! I was going to say, on my end, there is mail to be opened. I can imagine it being responded to in a similar fashion to well, we know what happened last time the Greyjoys received a box with a message inside.

It would be nice to see either the Baratheons/Martell, Starks too. Those factions would still come into play in the wars to come :)

@kingkonrad We'll wait, and if nobody takes them, people can make CSes for them.

I ALSO just realized of those houses being played only Crakehall is currently making a bid for the throne... cool, I really can't wait to get started! Out of curiosity, I assume Tyget believes Tyron is dead, like his father thiught? Though he would know him as Brynn I suppose

@agentmanatee I'd assume so, though he's gonna receive a request for men, probably signed by Tyron.

He is? Well, Garland got a dead woman's head in a box sent to him. He really liked Aegon too. The only thing stopping him going to war is the fear of what would happen if he has to tell his banners, you know, be that Lord that breaks decades of peace only to have tens of thousands die. He has no official claim, but if he hears that Lord Crakenhall has made a bid for the Throne, then he will seek to depose them, and who knows who could become King if the Tyrells have no idea of who specifically they want. I still need to do Willas's CS, but dammit, I have so much shit going on :P He'll emerge when it becomes relevant.

So are the Tyrell's dead set on stopping Tyget's bid then? He isn't a man you want as an enemy you know...

Neither is Garland...everything is in flux, so it's going to be the question of just how far Garland will go for his house. As I have said, the Tyrells have a lot of money too, they could muster almost 100,000 men if they paid for mercenaries, and it wouldn't be difficult for Garland to fight a long war against the Lannisters. The problem comes when you add another house, one way or another on either side. The Stormlands, Dorne are the two that would have the greatest influence in a war like that. It's big decisions that have to be made, Garland is not an experienced man, BUT he is one that has one hell of a lot of power to wield. And remember, the family pushed the Lannisters out of power once, so it may be that Garland sees the Crakenhalls as a real match for that now. At the other time, he could BACK your character, but it would be such a fragile alliance, who knows what could happen. It would throw the Targs out, most definitely, but would Garland be happy if he was told for all that, he was just a Hand once more?

I love contemplating this, it's all perfect GoT stuff :)

Actually, the Stormlands can muster about 30,000 troops if I remember correctly. Their thing is the fighting mentality I believe. In this scenario the Tyrell's would be the strongest in sheer manpower because according to the books the Westerlands don't have a working gold or silver mine anymore. So the Westerlands I don't think they would have that money backing them if it's been four generation, at least, I would think. In terms of manpower I believe its The Reach 80,000, Westerlands/North 50,000, Riverlands at 45,000 , Iron Islands at 20,000 Storm lands at about 30-35,000 and I can't remember the Vale or Dorne. I might end up getting the short end of the stick considering most fighting takes place over the Riverlands lol.

No, lord Tywin Lannister suggested that the mines at Casterly Rock had run dry, not the westerlands in general. And that was in the show only, in the books they just play themselves off as richer than they are. The Crakehall's not only took any Lannister mines and other lands, but after the beggars rebellion they seized the assets of what amounts to two other houses as well. They really ARE rich because of this combination of assets, so they do have more money than most other houses I believe, save perhaps the Tyrell's who may equal or somewhat hold slightly less, I'm not sure

They also are well invested in trade, as I said Tyget has fostered more than few gold generating relationships with traders, merchants and other perhaps less than moralistic business

I was thinking that yeah, by this point, and from the books, that would be around the case for money- The Reach has become a trading and agricultural power, and that doesn't really wane, though since winter is coming, that is going to be something very seasonal indeed. I would think the Tyrells would match the Crakehalls in money- they've had it so good for so long, while the Crakehalls have had to take what the Lannisters had and add to it what they could. It's difficult to tell, but genuinely, a lack of money is not what the Tyrells are especially concerned about.

The Stormlands are a key ally for whomever- considering Lady Baratheon has had her head taken, I can only feel that whoever is playing that family is going to be pretty pissed at the Targs. That family would be weakened, I could imagine- going from a legitamised bastard back to strength would be difficult, but they will still have a disproportionate significance in the wars to come. Let's not forget that the last time that The Reach and The Stormlands ever were in a war, they had besieged Storm's End and fucked over Robert's heartland. Manpower wise, The Reach might be massive for that, and it can surely sustain itself, it's like the USSR of the Seven Kingdoms *imagines Garland waving sickle*, but it's a mixed bag within that. Most of those soldiers aren't great, some, such as those of House Tarly, are still very up to scratch. It really is luck of the draw, but as I have said, it would take a coalition to stop a Reach army- that, or dragonfire. If the Targs use them, on an open field, that numerical advantage is non-existent.

It's like Economic Geography all over again. Wow.

Well remember the westerlands are full of still untapped hills and mountains in tge books that by now are also being mined, the Lannister mines running dry does not spell doom financially for the westerlands, and their is still trade throughout the seven kingdoms and beyond thay the Crakehall's and Tyget will no doubt have invested in
