PREMISE:

Unofficially Hyperhumans; individuals with extraordinary gifts unique to them, have been part of the world since the early 1900's. However in the year 2014 they received an unofficial outing at the hands of terrorist Yakob Kowalski. Kowalski having lost his family to a young Hypes' developing abilities, had maintained a grudge over the years culminating with a plan to expose Hyperhumans as dangerous individuals. However he was stopped by H.I.T. - the Hyperhuman Intervention Taskforce.

In the aftermath of Kowalski's attempts to paint all Hyperhumans as destructive monsters, the Hyperhuman Equality, Logistics and Protection, or H.E.L.P. as it's often abbreviated to, was forced to shut down not only its offices and taskforce but also its primary institution. This institution was the Pacific Royal Collegiate and University, a school and safe environment for Hyperhumans to develop their abilities at and live a life free of fear and prejudice. No longer able to protect Hyperhumans from the world, the remnants of H.E.L.P. have discovered they are not the only the only ones interested in Hyperhumans. While there are some who wish to use Hypes to their achieve their own goals or protect their own interests, there are others who wish to see this entire race exterminated.

To this end, someone or something has been hunting down Hyperhumans and killing them, always appearing without warning before disappearing without a trace. Word of these attacks have spread across the internet prompting panicked Hyperhumans to flee their homes. Convoys of Hyperhumans have joined together in order to keep one another safe as they travel to find a place to call their own. But without a sanctuary to flee to, even these convoys are only safe for so long...

PLOT:

A synposis of the ongoing over arcing plot will be kept here for new and current players alike. The main plot is a GM driven story that unites all interested players.

Now in the year 2016, it has been nearly two years since H.E.L.P. was forced to disband and shut down both H.I.T. and P.R.C.U. Those Hyperhumans who had attended the school were forced to re-integrate into normal life, hiding their abilities from those they cared about in order to ward off any prejudice that could bring their loved ones harm. But disappearing proved more difficult than they could have imagined as the rise of vigilantes and other empowered activities kept the global eye squarely on Hyperhuman activities.

For some time now there has been talk of a Hyperhuman Registration Act, which would call for the identity of anyone possessing the Hype-Gene to be registered into a database for the use of law enforcement. While there has yet to be a majority vote in favor of the act, a preliminary version has been enacted for Hyperhumans who have been caught committing crimes with their abilities. It is these Hyperhumans who have skewered the public image and for this reason many of the public live in fear of Hyperhumans. That is except for the city of Larissa. The North Carolina city of Larissa has been under the protection of the vigilantes known as the Mavericks who have won the adoration of their city through their crusade against crime, however this phenomenon has yet to occur in any other location.

As such, 'outed' Hyperhumans are often pariahs within their home communities. For this reason, many Hyperhumans are forced to become nomads if their true nature is discovered. This has lead to roaming Hyperhuman Convoys which make their way across the country in search of a place to call home. Even Larissa doesn't welcome these outcasts into their home, wanting to avoid inviting unwanted travel into the city. With the ongoing Hyperhuman attacks, these convoys have been converging together in order to follow the principle of 'safety in numbers'. The largest convoy ever recorded has currently come to a rest out of Pointe Bordeaux, a city located on the border of the American states of Texas and Louisiana. This convoy is currently pursuing a rumor of a sanctuary that would finally be safe for Hyperhumans of all shapes and sizes.

SUB-PLOT:

Sub-Plots are the ongoing stories divided by the respective cities they take place in. These stories are both GM and player driven unlike the main plot which is GM driven.

POINTE BORDEAUX:
"X Gon'Give It To Ya": As the Hyperhuman Convoy makes its stop at the city of Pointe Bordeaux in Louisiana, a group of 'Hype Haters' have gathered to give them a send off they won't soon forget. Originally a small group of dissenters, their numbers have quickly swarmed into a riot as they march towards the edge of the city, bringing with them harm to any bystanders and numerous dollars in property damage. Local authorities have made little attempt to stop the growing mob leaving many innocents undefended.

NOTABLE LOCATIONS:

Pacific Royal Collegiate and University:
The Pacific Royal Collegiate And University is a special institute founded in 1986 and led through associated by the Hyperhuman Equality, Logistics and Protection Department. The goal of P.R.C.U. is to train young Hyperhumans to control their abilities and while working with the Hyperhuman Equality, Logistics and Protection Department in order to one day reach the goal of fostering friendly relations between Hyperhumans and the general populous.

Originally a large Victorian High Gothic style mansion built on Digby Island in British Columbia, Canada, the mansion was built just beyond an old coastal defense built at Frederick Point used as a watch during the Great Wars. Originally purchased by H.E.L.P.'s anonymous sponsors, it was then re-purposed the fort into a base for their own Hyperhuman Intervention Taskforce along with another old coastal defence at Dundas Point, while the mansion was converted into an academic building. As enrollment increased, H.E.L.P. commissioned the construction of gender specific dorms. Eventually, the class sizes outgrew the mansion and the construction of a new academic building was completed. P.R.C.U. continued to grow and expand adding the University component in 1999. This lead to the construction of three new dormitories, one of which was the first co-ed dorm on campus, a risky move but necessary to update to modern times. When H.E.L.P. was forced to disband in 2014, the campus too was shut down and has been since left abandoned.

Larissa, North Carolina:
A city originally built around the wine industry, Larissa eventually became home to one of North America's most powerful organized crime families, the enigmatic Roman Locke. However the city was also one of the first to have a thriving team of 'Viglantes', the Mavericks rose to prominence during the same year as the Kowalski attacks leading originally to a negative impression by the public. However the masked vigilantes eventually won the city over as they loosened Locke's grip.

Sitting on the bay overlooking the Atlantic, Larissa has a thriving manufacturing industry exporting and importing numerous materials on a daily basis. A leader in technological research, the city is quickly growing to be the a focal point towards the future.

Pointe Bordeaux, Louisiana:
Located on a peninsula sitting on the stateline of Texas and Louisiana, Pointe Bordeaux is a thriving colourful city. Known as ‘Neon City’ by its inhabitants, the city shares a lot of influence from both Miami and New Orleans, having a thriving club and night scene. To many, Pointe Bordeaux is an escape, a break from the stress that life often brings as they get lost in the clubs along the coast. The city makes most of its money officially on tourism, however it thrives on drug money from the cartels of the South. Rampant with crime, if you go missing in Pointe Bordeaux, no one bothers to look for you.

Longhorn City, Texas:
The unofficial name for the city is "Taurus City." A name that, nowadays, is used more as a quip than anything, though its origins are shrouded in a dark history. A large community and thriving city, Longhorn City sits in between the valley from which the name comes and the Desert of the Dry Bones. A large farming community surrounds the city from the South on either side of the valley and is home to many different ranches and other agricultural homesteads. Originally named for the surrounding bountiful herds of wild longhorn cattle-- seemingly abandoned by an earlier settlement (of which there are no records, something not uncommon for the time period), --the city itself is now known for the oil which it harvests from the desert and its large exports of fuel as well as good ol'American monster longhorn steaks, because everything is bigger in Texas. Founded in the early 1900s by nomads looking for a place to settle down, Longhorn City gained its well-deserved name from the original "Bone Gorge" after the townsfolk of the original settlement were able to live off of nothing but the crop of the land and meat from the cattle when trade was sparse around the time of 1914-1920's. The name also stemmed from the discovery of a Native American burial site, littered with entire skeletons of the longhorn's arranged in a meaning of offering. Nowadays, the city is a towering monument to man's progress in the area as it rises above the desert. A very wealthy city, many of its restaurants are famous for their homemade barbecue recipes. While the North end of the city is filled with industry and low income housing, the center is very wealthy with the East and West making up middle class, the South is very wealthy.

The Desert of the Dry Bones:
The Desert of the Dry Bones stretches from Texas, through New Mexico and all the way into California providing a rugged but direct route from Longhorn to Los Paraíso. A large dry sandy area, it's home to very little due to it's brutal climate. Scorching hot days and freezing cold nights. Many bodies have been found dead in the desert whether killed by the elements or dumped there never to be seen again. Those that do dwell in the desert are the remaining members of an ancient Navajo Tribe who seldom make contact with Los Paraísíso due to fear of the modern world corrupting traditions.

Los Paraíso, California:
A large metropolitan center, the city of Los Paraíso is found on the Western Coast of the United States of America in the state of California. Spanning a long history, Los Paraíso is a diverse city and home to numerous ethnicities and cultures. The city spans over a large area, consisting of the major city of Los Paraíso, or Paradise City and a smaller rural community known as Paradise Valley. Paradise Valley lies two miles to the East of the main city and is home to Paradise Falls, one of the largest natural waterfalls in the world. Two rivers run off these falls, the first of which is the Dorado Rapids which runs along the Southern edge of Paradise on the Water, flowing west into the Pacific. Paradise on the Water is Los Paraíso’s southernmost and richest district while the second river, the Del Vida River divides the Paradise Valley from the city and continues to flow due South. This span is crossed by a giant suspension bridge known as the Tower Bridge due to the giant turrets which rise up on either side of it. It's an impressive sight even to those who live in Los Paraíso and has been featured in many movies. The city's architecture ranges from styles as old as the 1920's to modern and futuristic styles that look like they belong in one of Paradise Hill's science fiction movies.

Kilbride, Washington:
Affectionately referred to as the ‘City of Hephaestus’, Kilbride is known for its factories and the heavy layer of smoke, smog and steam that tends to hang over the city’s northern edges. The factories run all year round, while the power district continuously pumps out power to the entire city. In its oldest and richest region, Kilbride’s North City sports a distinct Edwardian architectural style, illustrating its richer history. This style is the city’s dominant look although other architectural styles persist. The city is almost like the rings of a great oak tree with the buildings towards the old mines being among the oldest in the city and then slowly becoming newer as they expand towards the other two urban centers. The styles of the 80’s, 70’s and 60’s are all well alive through the Narrows and Rows. Old subway tunnels run beneath the city constructed in the long abandoned mines. These tunnels are reinforced with steel and brick while leaking steam pipes and power lines run along the ceiling beneath the busy roads above. These steam pipes used to provide heat and power to a majority of the city but now lay abandoned venting half-heartedly into the city adding to the constant smog hovering over the district and an ominous hiss in the quiet of the night.

BACKGROUND INFOMATION:

STATS:
There’s an estimated one Hyperhuman per every million humans on Earth. This is expected to double in the next ten years and continue on this path until eventually make up the majority of the Earth’s population within the next hundred years.

In contrast to this growing number, the Magni are estimated to number only a hundred for every billion humans on Earth. The Magni are slowly dying out as the knowledge to perform the ancient arts is slowly lost to the modern age. That said, due to their long lifespans the Magni are not expected to be extinct until the end of the millennia.

Opposed to both Magni and Hyperhumans whose populations can be tracked, Celestials visit Earth and leave at various intervals. At any one given time it is expected that there is one Celestial per every billion humans on Earth. That said this number can fluctuate and can never truly be fully determined due to Celestials being highly difficult to isolate and track.

NOTABLE CHARACTERS:

Caspian, Winter:
The former Director for the Department of Hyperhuman Equality, Logistics and Protection, Winter Caspian is a force to be reckoned with. A rare case of a student attending P.R.C.U. before transitioning to another school, Winter did just that completing the collegiate courses as Pacific Royal before attending and graduating with an Honour Bachelors of Law from Queen's University. Following this, she returned to P.R.C.U. and completed a fast track program earning a diploma in Social Relations.

Winter started her career working in H.E.L.P.'s Equality and Rights Division before eventually advancing to the position of Director in 2013. Aggressive with a take no prisoners attitude, Winter has sat the Prime Minister himself down to fight for equal rights to all Hyperhumans. A feat no previous Director had managed before, leaving Winter with quite the infamous reputation among both the organization and Canada's political system. After the events of Kowalski's attacks and the disbanding of H.E.L.P., Winter has turned her attention on politics and can be found advocating for Hyperhuman rights on an international scale. This has made her the target of many assassination attempts.

Christianson, Isabella:
Formerly, Belle was responsible for maintaining the both H.E.L.P. and P.R.C.U.'s networks and computers. Additionally aiding H.I.T. in acquiring information for both field work and recruitment. Originally a hacker and a mind before the original inception of Uroboros, Belle was apprehended and recruited by H.E.L.P. before the shady organization's rules were firmly established. Rehabilitated at P.R.C.U., Belle would go on to become an Agent of H.I.T. often accompanying Commander O'Bran on missions to recruits other Hyperhumans.

Before Kowalski's attacks in 2014, Belle had stepped down from H.I.T. and was working within P.R.C.U. doing the best she coukd to prepare students for the while world while instructing numerous programming courses each year. However due to the institute being shut down, Belle has chosen to accompany her former commander on finding a safe haven for Hyperhumans. Her primary responsibilities now are acting as information broker between Uroboros and the Convoy.

Lehrer, Jonas:
The former Chancellor of Pacific Royal Collegiate and University. Dr. Jonas Lehrer stood as a role model not only to his students but also to all of the Hyperhuman Community. Having acted as Chancellor for just over three years, Dr. Lehrer made his own unique mark on the University with enrollment further increasing under his publicity campaign. What was most impressive about it however, was not the effectiveness of the campaign but rather the way which Dr. Lehrer instructed the staff to carry it out, allowing it to escape under the radar of many bigots, keeping the Institute safe from harm and detection.

Highly regarded, Dr. Lehrer is one of the few staff not to have graduated from P.R.C.U. instead he was a graduate from McGill University in Montreal Quebec. As such, very little is publicly known about Dr. Lehrer including his Hype-Gene abilities. The result of this was a lot of students gossiping about what the Chancellor is truly capable of. Often during the introductory week, students will gather around fires swapping stories about what they may or may not have seen Dr. Lehrer do. Unfortunately, Dr. Lehrer has disappeared since P.R.C.U.'s doors were forced to close.

O'Bran, Killian:
The former Commanding Officer in charge of the Hyperhuman Intervention Taskforce, Commander Killian O'Bran reported directly to the Protection and Enforcement Division and even the Director of the Hyperhuman Equality, Logistics and Protection Department herself. As one of the original graduates from P.R.C.U., O'Bran still proudly bears his Team 1 'Bulltrue' insignia on his arm after leading the team to victory over the others in his final year. As such, O'Bran's code name is derived from this and his Irish heritage, the name Tavros coming from a divine bull in Celtic mythology.

Even when he had numerous taskforces under his command, O'Bran still preferred to take to the field himself and often had hand picked a team for himself under the belief that one should only keep their aces up their sleeves. In further extension of this belief, H.I.T. Team Leaders are allowed to pick graduates from P.R.C.U. as opposed to having graduates assigned to them. Upon the fall of H.E.L.P., O'Bran abandoned his given name and opted to go solely by his alias of Tarvos in order to keep his family safe as he put plans in the works for an 'Underground Railway' for his fellow Hyperhumans. The culmination of these plans led to the Convoy currently cross America.

Priest, Robert:
An eccentric millionaire and Magni Seduceni with the ability to transmutate matter, Robert Priest Sr. built his fortune by turning worthless metals into something new and profitable. His ability allowed him to turn aluminum into titanium, rust into steel or even copper into gold. Found by the Department of Hyperhuman Quality, Logistics and Protection, Priest found himself interested in the group and decided to invest in it while sending his adoptive son away to P.R.C.U. Over the years, Priest has been a primary 'investor' in the institute providing near limitless funds to the school while keeping under the radar so as not to upset the economy. For this reason, Robot has to be careful about what he transmutate, as too much of a precious metal or gem could affect the entire world.

Unfortunately, Robert is currently believed to have been killed in the aftermath of Kowalski's attacks. Due to his wealth's ever positive growth he was immediately expected of having been a Hyperhuman and his mansion was torched while Robert was still believed to be inside.

Ravencroft, Serena:
Originally an owner of a small antiquities shop in Vancouver, Serena Ravencroft discovered the existence of P.R.C.U. and by extension H.E.L.P. through her own abilities. A powerful Minerva, Serena is able to sense Hyperhumans and communicate with them telepathically over incredible distances. What's even more notable about her abilities is that she's especially able to sense Hyperhumans as their abilities activate for the first time. For this reason Serena often lead H.E.L.P. recruiters on approaching potential students for P.R.C.U. Serena is also one of the few Hyperhumans to experience what has become known as a 'Second Awakening'. This 'Second Awakening' further enhanced her abilities at the cost of her natural eye sight, Serena is able to glimpses of the immediate future around her by hearing the thoughts of others as they weigh their choices before choosing an action. For this reason it is very hard to catch Serena by surprise. Highly respected and well liked among the former staff of P.R.C.U., most of the Convoy will give their lives to save Serena with some even treating her almost as though she was a religious figure.

RECURRING ANTAGONISTS:

Fairchild, Robert:

A billionaire businessman, founder of Fairchild Electronics and current CEO of the broader Fairchild Enterprises established by his forefathers, Robert Fairchild used to have it all: the perfect life, the perfect home, the perfect family. After his only son went missing some five years ago and the loss of his wife soon after, Robert Fairchild’s life now revolves around one thing alone: money.

Seeing a business opportunity in the discovery of Hyperhumans and the resulting public unrest, Robert is marketing a new taser-like weapon to the masses, which he claims will “neutralise any Hyperhuman threat”. According to his investors, Robert has received a rather charitable donation since pursuing this new direction from an anonymous benefactor.

Kowalski, Yakob:

Originally a brilliant and successful Military Engineer, Dr. Yakob Kowalski was a former employee of the H.E.L.P working in their Logistics and Research Division. Originally joining H.E.L.P. wishing to use his knowledge and experiences in order to help Hyperhumans better cope with their abilities and prepare the world for them, Yakob dedicated his life to the helping create many of the technologies that H.E.L.P. would come to rely on. Such as the Hyperhuman Combat Suit as well as numerous other Anti-Hype and Hype Control devices which could be employed by H.I.T. Furthermone he was one of the first initial members who were key to the creation of the H.E.A.T. program and the original designs for the Augmented Reality Center.

However, Yakob's entire outlook changed the day his family was killed after the Hyperhuman known as Qauke lost control of his developing powers over a decade ago. The result was a massive sinkhole which destroyed much of the community in which they both lived, leaving behind a path of wreckage and sorrow. Tempest was taken away by H.I.T. and instead of being prosecuted was put into specialized training and care while Yakob was left with nothing but 'condolences' and a 'compensation' cheque from the H.E.L.P. The result of this was Yakob harnessing a grudge against all Hyperhumans, eventually using his work to look into ways to manipulate and eliminate them.

Resigning from H.E.L.P., Yakob struck out on his own and over the years created various lobby groups who were very vocal against the acceptance of hyperhumans. Despite this, both H.E.L.P. and P.R.C.U. continued, barely affected by his efforts. With this failing, Yakob turned to the numerous Anti-Hype Sects, granting them access to his weapon designs but withholding the Hyperhuman Combat Suit, a part of his own private agenda to ensure that regular humans would still be seen as victims. However due to the interference of H.E.L.P.'s own elite force, H.I.T., these plans did not carry out as Yakob intended. Deciding it would be best to take matters into his own hands, Yakob began to recruit his own Hyperhumans by means of extortion, blackmail and anything else necessary. Creating his own variation of the Hyperhuman Combat Suit, Yakob deployed his recruits as they demonstrated why exactly the world shouldn't trust Hyperhumans.

Although ultimately his attack against H.E.L.P., H.I.T. and the Pacific Royal Collegiate and University was foiled, many of Yakob's goals were ultimately accomplished as his actions created a void between Hypes and Humans alike.

NAME(S):
Ezekiel William Thoreau

NICKNAME(S):
Zeke,
Zee / Big Zee,
Zekey(When he was younger he was often referred to as 'Zekey', an unfortunate nickname which some of his family still refer to him as.)

D.O.B.:
05/18/1990

AGE:
25

SEX:
Male

SEXUALITY:
Heterosexual

APPEARANCE:
Zeke is a fairly in shape young man standing roughly 5'-10" and at a weight of roughly 168lbs. He has kind seafoam green eyes which hide his brutal nature and make him seem far more trustworthy than he ought to be. Usually found unshaven, though with a trimmed five o'clock shadow, he hasn't yet managed to grow a full beard out though not for lack of trying. Generally he spikes up his hair at the front in different varieties of the quiff, ducktail and ski slope styles though Zeke isn't above putting his hair in a faux hawk. This is all of course saying he doesn't don a hat for the day.

He wears the usual clothes of someone his age, jeans, tees, hoodies. Whenever Zeke needs to conceal his identity, he has a ball cap he pulls onto his head, dipping the beak down to shield his face while raising up the hood on his sweater or jacket. Occasionally, Zeke will pull a scarf or bandanna above the lower half of his face to further ensure his identity remains hidden.

~See above picture for visual reference.~

GENUS:
Homo-Virium

CLASSIFICATION:
Mars

ABILITIES/SKILLS:

//ABILITIES:
Zeke's body is basically a living lightning bolt, his body producing over 30,000 Amperes which he can expel at a maximum force of 100 Million Volts. Due to this, Zeke's body is constantly generating raw electricity which courses through his body. From his training at P.R.C.U., Zeke has learned to manipulate, control and to sense sources of electrical and electromagnetic energy including objects that can be affected by it such as underground water pipes. He can also absorb the energy of electrical equipment such as a power plant to increase his powers further or quickly recharge himself if he's low on power. Zeke can also charge devices with his electricity if necessary or beneficial to his allies.

He can channel this energy through his hands or other extremities and project it as a super-heated discharge as lightning or even plasma. Although the speed and voltage of Zeke's electric discharges have never been measured, it can be assumed that their affects are similar to that of a natural bolt of lightning. A bolt of lightning can travel at a speed of 100,000 mph (160934 km/h), and can reach temperatures approaching 28,000 °C (60,000 °F), hot enough to fuse soil or sand into glass channels.

Using his ability offensively, Zeke has the ability to project his electricity to stun his enemies. Zeke can further increase his electrical projections by simply ionizing the hydrogen atoms in the atmosphere so in effect creating ultra-high level static discharges and having the potential to create electrical storms. As an application of his abilities, Zeke can also generate an electromagnetic fields. The most basic application of these electromagnetic fields is what Zeke refers to as 'Static Cling'. Zeke can adhere most objects or people to surfaces and other objects in addition to being able to magnetic surfaces especially those made of conductive alloys. The next application of these electromagnetic fields allows Zeke to also create barriers and shields that he can use to block, repel, hold back attacks and defend himself in battle. Magnetizing the surface beneath his feet and his own feet with a repelling force, Zeke can 'skate' along a surface at an accelerated speed. Likewise, Zeke can manipulate electromagnetic fields to cause objects to fly in almost a very clumsy form of telekinesis. He can also fire bursts of electromagnetic energy from his hands for uses like electrifying objects, administering large scale "Static Clings", generating shields and barriers. These barriers are made of a highly concentrated electromagnetic force that are powerful enough to deflect small projectiles and take a very high levels of impact such as physical attacks from Hyperhumans. Lastly, these barriers are resistant to most energy attacks.

Zeke is able to surround his body in electricity becoming a living lightning bolt that can travel through the air. While surrounded he can maintain flight for a short time or use it to hurl himself towards the ground like Zeus' Thunderbolt in order to make a grand entrance or cause quite a bit of damage. He uses magnetic fields while doing this to shield himself from most harm.

//LIMITATIONS:
While Zeke's body produces 30,000 amperes of electricity, he can exhaust it requiring him to need an immediate recharge or be forced to wait for his body to catch up. It takes nearly a day for Zeke to recharge naturally if he's pushed to the point of exhaustion. This is slowed if Zeke is unable to keep up a healthy food intake or get a proper amount of rest. It should be noted that using his ability to fly is among his most draining abilities often keeping Zeke grounded unless there's a storm in effect. Zeke's body requires a very high level of electrolytes in order to keep his abilities running at top proficiency, as such he's rarely seen without a bottle of Gatorade in his hand. Additionally Zeke consumes a lot of salt in order to boost his abilities and a lack of it will cause his power levels to diminish.

It should be noted that in order for Zeke to actually fly it requires several pre-existing factors. Within a city, it's rather each for Zeke to obtain altitude by creating repelling forces off of conducting surfaces such a sky scrapers and other buildings. However, if he's not near conductive surfaces, Zeke is entirely dependent on the static discharge in the air. While he can stimulate it himself, for it to pay out he needs to spend enough of his own reserves in order to create an electrical storm in order to recharge himself enough to sustain flight. That said, because of the speed Zeke moves at while in flight he often will outrun his storm in a matter of seconds forcing him to either land or find another recharge while in the air. For this reason, Zeke's flight acts more like a 'teleport' forcing him to go from one point to the next without anything in between. Simply put, Zeke can not simply fly around and hurl electricity at his foes in combat.

While metal is among Zeke's greatest ally in a fight due to its conductive nature, if he were imprisoned in a metal cage, his lightning would likely be turned back on him. While this wouldn't necessarily harm Zeke, it certainly would not aid him either. Due to his traumatic entry into the world of Hyperhumans, Zeke has trouble using his abilities in large open areas where innocents and bystanders could get hurt and only does so as a last resort.

//WEAKNESSES:
Zeke's primary weaknesses are insulators, as his powers have little or no effect on them. Rubber is by far his worse bane, causing his powers to rendered useless if he were to be forced into wearing it on his feet and hands. Wood seems to be the one he has the most difficulty with, as it cannot be electromagnetically manipulated, levitated, or damaged. While water is a conductor, Zeke cannot be emerged in it without shorting out unless the water is de-ionized in which case it has no effect on Zeke since it doesn't conduct.

Zeke's powers can also be used against him and redirected by other Hypes with similar abilities. Likewise other MARS-Type and MERCURY-Types Hypes can slow Zeke's electrons causing his electricity to simple cease and stop.

BACKSTORY:
A drifter due more to circumstance than by nature, Ezekiel William Thoreau was born hundreds of miles from the land he would come to call home. His parents had originally grown up, met and fallen in love in the countryside of Wales before settling down in city of Cardiff. It was here, in the land of Cymry that Ezekiel was born to proud father, Nigel, and loving mother, Beth. Zeke spent most of his early childhood in Cardiff living a rather uninteresting life void of accomplishment or even notoriety. Shortly before his tenth birthday however, Zeke's suddenly changed as he found his room packed up and himself loaded onto a plane. Flying across the Atlantic, the couple landed in the country of Canada where Zeke soon found that his father had taken a rather well paying job.

Employed by the government of Alberta as a Senior Structural Engineer, Nigel began to bring home quite the income, much more than either he or Beth had ever dreamed of either of them making. Relief flooded over the parents as Nigel was able to ensure that his family had everything they needed to adjust to the move. As Zeke continued to grow older, Beth was able to focus on her career, starting a small catering business.

The move to Calgary had also ensured that Zeke had everything he could ever need or want at his fingertips. One of Canada's largest cities, Calgary provided all sorts of services, occasions, shopping and some of the finest schools in the province. However despite all the joy the move had brought the family, Zeke became plagued by health issues shortly after the move and spent most of the next four years in Alberta's Children Hospital. Born with a weak immune system, Zeke's body struggled with acclimatizing after the move and seemed to pick up every bug he came in contact with. As a result, his parents kept him at home whenever they could to reduce his risk to exposure. As a result of this, Zeke was home-schooled for much of his elementary school career and kept away from most public events.

At the age of fourteen, Zeke was reintroduced into the public education system. Eager to make friends, Zeke found out all too quickly how mean teenagers can be as he was mocked relentlessly for his name, mannerisms, dress and just about anything else the other teens found to be unusual about Zeke. Originally Zeke struggled to keep up in school, especially as he went through puberty and discovered he apparently had a bad touch for technology. By the time Zeke was sixteen he would swear that he could kill any machine with one touch. No matter where he sat in computer labs, he always seemed to short out the machine he was working on. In fact the school itself began to experience a record number of power fluctuations and outages throughout the four years Zeke attended class. Despite his difficulties with technology, Zeke would go on to prove himself a talented athlete, excelling at various events but in particular track and field. This however failed to make an impact on his social status as rumors of Zeke being a freak swirled around the school each and every day.

Forced to live out each day as a social outcast, Zeke led a very lonely high school career. While this never truly changed, by the time of his senior year Zeke had made enough acquaintances to earn an invitation to the senior graduation party and against his better judgement, Zeke decided to attend. Arriving what he believed to be fashionable late was Zeke's first mistake as several of the local jocks had already prepared their cruel fairwell to Zeke. Having not been swimming in the last eight years, and having no idea of his developed abilities, Zeke was completely unprepared for an impromptu trip into the pool as the football team heaved him into the water. A brilliant flash of light accompanied his impact with the surface as Zeke's body was shorted out, the years of stored current instantly electrocuting anyone in or near the pool as Zeke surfaced gasping for air only to find the majority of the graduating class now dead.

And so Zeke ran. Panicking, he had no idea of what to do, no grasp on what had happened other than the numerous dead eyes solely squared on him as the survivors screamed. Zeke became a wanted man, his running made it look intentional and there was no doubt in his mind that those who had managed to avoid the accident had pegged the blame squarely on him. But Zeke had lived a rather cushioned life, he was not cut out for life on the run as he very quickly found out. With no money and no skills to survive, Zeke was quickly apprehended for stealing. But as luck would have it, Zeke's custody was turned over from the police to an older blind woman. Much to his surprise she knew about the accident and knew more about Zeke than perhaps even he knew as she explained where the lightning had come from. She even explained to Zeke how she had contacted his parents and explained everything to them, adding that in time they would visit him.

It was on this day that Zeke officially became a student at the Pacific Royal Collegiate and University. The woman, Serena Ravencroft was a recruiter for the school, a Hyperhuman like Zeke with the gift of foresight and a sense for finding young Hyperhumans as they underwent the drastic changes the Hype-Gene brought to their bodies. Introducing Zeke to the school's chancellor, Jonas Lehrer, Zeke was enrolled and assigned to a dormitory. The school was unlike anything Zeke could ever had imagined although it took him quite some time to adjust to the military like regime and dress code mandated by the school. Assigned to Team 42 Bravo, Zeke for the first time in his life was able to make close friends. For this reason, graduating from P.R.C.U. had to be one of the saddest days in Zeke's life. While he tried to keep in contact with his friends, it simply wasn't possible with his aversion to technology.

The year after his graduation brought the Kowalski attacks and once again Zeke's life was turned upside down. Having followed in his father's footsteps, Zeke had entered the engineering business but his aversion to AutoCAD and as an extension, computers raised suspicions in his coworkers. When Kowalski ripped the proverbial mask off of not only P.R.C.U. but Hyperhumans as a whole, they quickly turned on Zeke who was forced to leave. Over the past two years Zeke had been drifting from place to place trying to find somewhere to belong. However over the past few weeks, he's had the haunting feeling that someone or something has been following him causing the lone Hyperhuman to be constantly on edge.

MOTIVATION/OBJECTIVE:
Having been an outcast for most of his life, Zeke is seeking a community to which he can truly belong without having to hide part of who he is. While he had this at P.R.C.U., it was ruined by Kowalski forcing Hyperhumans into the world's focus. Journeying with the convoy will allow Zeke to find his place among a community of people like him and with his skills he's able to help keep them safe as they seek out a Sanctuary of their own.

NOTES:
Due in part to living in Wales until he was 10 and in part to being around his parents so much, Zeke speaks with a notable Welsh accent. Additionally he will occasionally fall into using local colloquialisms he assimilated from his parents.
Despite having some hands on experience with firearms, Zeke is a terrible shot and will allows rely on his powers above all else.
Due to living on the run for so long, Zeke has had to learn to steal. That however didn't stop his taste in vehicles having quite the affinity for stealing expensive motorcycles and cars.
Zeke is something of a skill pickpocket, primarily due to his ability to magnetize most wallets and pull them out without getting too suspicious close to his targets. That said, he generally only takes what he needs if he's forced to resort to pickpocketing. He prefers hijacking ATMs and giving 'The Man' the bird to ripping off civilians any day.
Zeke has a terrible time with electronics due to either short circuiting them or wiping them out with electromagnetic pulses. As such he does not carry a cellphone or any other portable device.
Zeke also can't use a compass and instead relies on 'Star Navigation', this has honed his natural sense of direction over the years.
While theoretically Zeke could take someone with him when he 'flies', it would be so draining that the situation would have to be awfully dire for him to consider it, let alone attempt it.
Due to his time at P.R.C.U. and their relation with H.E.L.P./H.I.T., Zeke has a dislike for vigilantes believing they give Hyperhumans a bad reputation and enforce Kowalski's beliefs.
Zeke has had several years of counselling post high school in order to cope with 'killing' his graduation class. Unfortunately after Kowalski, Zeke has become rather cynical in order to cope with the changing world.
Chicken, Pineapple, Bacon, Sausage, try it sometime.

Emory Fairchild

NAME:
Emory Robert Fairchild

NICKNAME(S):
’Em’, Bobby

D.O.B.:
22nd December, 1994

AGE:
22

SEX:
Male

SEXUALITY:
Pansexual

APPEARANCE:
Emory's preferred appearance is his own, as he finds it the easiest to adopt and maintain. Though he's certainly tweaked himself a little over the years; he always has clear skin, something he usually struggled with, and he usually imitates a bleached look on his originally dark locks. He's made himself a couple inches taller than he was naturally, standing at about 6ft'2 most of the time, though naturally this varies. His eye colour in this form is usually piercing blue, though he was born with brown eyes. Most of this information can and does change and it's not unlikely for small details to be 'off' if Emory overlooks them.

GENUS:
Homo-Virium

CLASSIFICATION:
ORCUS

ABILITIES:
Amorphous Physiology
Emory has no distinct shape: his natural form is an amorphous slime-like substance. He is a brilliant shapeshifter, able to sculpt himself into the shape of anything he pleases: though it’s naturally easier for him to adapt a human form as it’s what he’s most familiar with, he can also pose as inanimate objects or animals. He can shift parts of his body into tools or weapons by changing their shape and hardening them to be as dense and as durable as steel. In his amorphous form, he is able to move around as a puddle, albeit very slowly, which allows him to squeeze through even the smallest of spaces, given enough time. His amorphous form is incredibly sticky, which allows him to effectively trap victims and even suffocate them. He doesn’t know it yet, but Emory is essentially immortal: he hasn’t aged biologically since his powers manifested, though he can still be killed. He must still sustain himself by absorbing nutrients, but he doesn’t need to breathe and is thus immune to suffocation. He is also largely invulnerable to most physical attacks, as his body instinctively reacts by briefly turning the targeted area into slime. However, he is still more than capable of being caught off-guard and non-physical attacks effect him as they would any other. Should part of him be wounded or even severed, Emory is able to generate new mass to replace what is lost.

BACKSTORY:
The son of Fairchild Electronics CEO Robert Fairchild and his wife Veronica, Emory was the light at the end of a dark tunnel for his parents; after six years of fruitless efforts to conceive, Emory’s birth was something of a miracle. He was well-loved by his parents and, whilst he inevitably found himself in the care of nannies from time-to-time, his superficial parents made an effort to be around him as much as they could, much to the surprise of some of their critics. Surrounded by love and pleasantry in their lavish coastal mansion in Paradise on the Water, Emory Fairchild could not have asked for a more comfortable upbringing. But some years later, it would emerge that the love his parents had for him was not entirely unconditional.

As he grew older, some of Emory’s life choices had been somewhat disappointing to the Fairchilds. From the time devoted to his band Maharaja, to his partiality for smoking marijuana, at eighteen years of age long-haired Emory was not the perfect son they’d envisioned for their perfect family. He’d never made an effort to hide any elements of his life from them, either; he was naturally rebellious, bored of his pampered existence, he took quiet joy in showing his parents that he had little interest in the artificiality of their American dream.

They reluctantly supported him, as any parents would, and did their best to keep him on the straight and narrow. But all that changed when Emory’s Hype gene activated.

No longer dormant, the manifestation of Emory’s strange abilities shook the entire family, not least Emory himself. The general public was not aware of Hyperhumans at the time, and so when Vanessa checked on a sick Emory in bed to find the sheets covered in sticky black slime and her son nowhere in sight, she was horrified. Emory was sentient the entire time, unable to move or speak and not entirely sure what was happening.

A strange, blind woman arrived at the house, telling the Fairchilds all about the Hype gene and explaining that their son was one of them. She told them of a school, name the PRCU, that could help Emory to control his gifts and live a normal life. The parents reacted somewhat extremely, horrified that their child was a ‘freak’ – a ‘monster’. Knowing that Emory would likely die without her help, she wiped his parents memories and transported the now slime-based boy to the PRCU.

After rigorous testing and training, Emory soon managed to tame his powers, able to maintain his human form with relative ease, as well as learning to take on seemingly any other form he pleased with varying levels of realism. After a year at the school, it seemed everything was falling into place, and soon Emory would be able to return home to his parents and explain to them what had happened.

But he was still learning, and when Emory was attacked in a small town near the school, he wasn’t able to control himself enough in combat to avoid killing his aggressors. Now on the run for murder, the PRCU and his home back in Los Paraiso were off-limits.
He spent the next year or so flitting from city to city with crime as his main income, using his powers to get him out of trouble and escape imprisonment. As the existence of Hypes was revealed to the world, CCTV footage of his daring escapes went viral and made headlines across the world: “DANGER AMONG US”, “HYPER-HOUDINI STRIKES AGAIN”, “HE COULD BE ANYONE!”.

The media attention was enough to spook him into keeping a low profile, with his powers giving him the benefit of essentially being whoever he pleased. He eventually settled down in the city of Tyler, Texas, where he earned money fixing cars and dealing marijuana acquired through his powers. It was a tough life, and a far cry from where he’d been three years prior, but at 20 years old he wasn’t afraid to admit he enjoyed the simplicity of it in an odd way... For now.

But after two years of relative dormancy, Emory grew restless. He knew he couldn’t settle properly until he confronted his past and addressed what had happened on that faithful day; he had questions for his parents and he needed answers. Learning that his father was due to announce a ‘revolutionary’ new product to the market at a summit in Pointe Bordeaux, Emory began to make travel arrangements to the neighbouring state of Louisiana.

MOTIVATION:
Emory is motivated by the persistent voice in the back of his mind, constantly reminding him of the terms in which he left home. Having not seen his parents at all over the last five years, he has a lot of questions for the mother and father who had previously loved him so much. More than anything, he just wants to know how they're doing and perhaps rekindle some kind of relationship with his mother and father. But sometimes, ignorance is bliss...

NOTES:
Having no real metabolism but requiring a large amount of energy, Emory almost exclusively eats fast food in huge portions, since he doesn't run the risk of poor health or gaining weight. His favourite is deep pan pizza with extra cheese, bacon, chicken, mushrooms and peppers, with a stuffed crust. We have that in common.

~Reserved for GM Character
Do not reverse character slots unless you are a GM ;)

I find it more funny than I should that you reversed some letters in the word reserve to form the word reverse.

Also, I'll be writing a CS for this.

Provided there are open slots, I'll be drafting a character sheet tonight. I'd like to figure out a concept first, though, so @Lord Wraith, expect a PM within the next hour or so.

So, like, Imma work on a CS soon. Would a guy that can enter someone else's mind and effectively control them for a brief period of time (a "mindjack", I guess) be okay? I'll limit this for use on NPCs, of course. Unless you guys want me to control your characters. Weirdos.

Yeah could work as long as its checked and balanced. An easy 'Minerva' classification.

Maybe also worth thinking about an in-character reason for why his ability wouldn't effect other characters, or perhaps why he chooses not to use it on his allies. Just my two cents.

Well, you know, moral high ground and stuff. I reckon it'd work on hypes, just that it probably puts a greater toll on him. But yeah, cheers, Wraith. I'll start work on it soon.

I appreciate the complement, but Emory can't really convincingly portray animals. They're his weakest transformation visually since they're just so complex; he essentially has to sculpt himself into any shape he wants to adopt, so he relies on his own knowledge of animal biology. Birds bigger than they should be, elephants without tusks... Think along those lines. He also can't move in these forms without them falling apart. As you can imagine, he rarely uses this side of his ability!

I think you should definitely go ahead with your animal shapeshifter. You would be able to physically turn into the animals; gaining the speed of a cheetah or the flight of an eagle. Plus, your transformations would be perfect representations of the animals, whereas Em's are far from it. I think we have very different approaches to shapeshifting and could complement each other, rather than stepping on each other's toes.

It's also worth noting that Wraith hasn't accepted any characters yet, and it's not first-come first-serve!

Tyler's power isn't really an animal shifter so I would definitely say go for it. Would love to see what you can come up with!
