Character You Wish To Play: Thor Odinson

Moral Alignment (Hero, Villain, Walking the Line): Hero

Affiliation (what group/team/organization, if any, is your character affiliated with?): The Avengers, Asgardians and Midgardians alike

Character Origin & Backstory: Thor Odinson was the sole son of Odin, king of Asgard. From the start he was thick in the privileged life being the son of royalty. He had the finest clothes, the best hand crafted weapons at his disposal, and the adoration of the town. As such growing up Thor had the ego that matched his growing strength and skill in combat. However there was always something that kept the young lad's pride from overtaking his common sense. His younger brother Loki.

While he never understood until years later why Loki wasn't as liked in the kingdom as he was. Thor looked up to his younger brother in a lot of ways. Loki's use of cunning in combat was seen as a hindrance and making up in physical weakness. However Thor always admired it, having never been the brightest himself admittedly. He studied it and tried to incorporate it into his own battle style to success. It was that, plus all the adventures the two would have that Thor loved about his brother. He wasn't even phased when he learned the truth, he saw no reason to see Loki as anything less even if his blood wasn't the same as his.

However after the fateful night Loki lost to Eltri and was mocked by all of the people of Asgard. A night Thor was about to come to his brother's aid when his father strictly forbidden him from doing so. Thor saw the slowly evolving change in Loki. The bitterness and hate growing even as Thor tried to subdue it by having Loki join him on quests and journeys. Hoping to rekindle the fun they had as kids.
When of a proper age Thor was given the hammer Mjolnir by his father that was made by Eltri. He loved it and it quickly became his favorite and most cherished weapon. Though soon after Loki went into exile and after being found was put into torture for as long as he lived. Again Thor, realizing what it all meant, still remained helpless to do anything about it.

It was soon after Ragnarok occurred, the twisted damnation of blood and horrors that Thor found himself in the middle of. It was in the midst of this battlefield Thor and Loki finally found themselves face to face. Thor tried in vain to bring some sense of reason to Loki but his brother was gone. The battle was chaotic and violent, however when Thor finally had the chance to end Loki and bring the madness to a stop his love for his brother made it impossible. It was from that moment on Thor escaped the collapsing Asgard kingdom through a mix of luck, desperation, and a selfishness that bothers him to this day. He lost Mjolnir in all the insanity but the situation would have left him dead if he hadn't.

When Thor found himself on Midgard he was left without so much as a rhyme or reason to exist. Instead with nothing but a name he took to journeying the world the Midgardians made for themselves. It was a fascinating and humbling experience for the now former prince. From hiking across the plains of China ,working as a carriage handler in Victorian London, to crazy enough working as a roadie for ABBA. Thor has seen just about everything the world has to offer. Finally he settled down in a small cabin out in the wilderness of the area now known as Montana. He would from time to time journey out to various nearby small towns for whatever essentials he needed but mostly kept to himself. Staying off the grid of the growing world around him with only a basic idea what was happening around him.

When SHIELD were keeping an eye on Tarene in her destructive quest for Loki's head. They came across an unusual reading that led them to finding that there was an Asgardian hiding in rural Montana...

Powers and Abilities (What can your character do? What can't they do?): Being of both Asgardian and Elder God ancestor. Thor possesses strength, invulnerability, stamina, and speed. Though the most notable thing about Thor is his weapon of choice, Mjolnir. With it Thor can levitate and fly by throwing it and holding onto the handle and control of weather in particular lightning.

Ever since Thor started living his life on Earth, Thor has been able to adapt and learn plenty of new tools. From iron forging, leather work, caring for horses, cooking, farming, to countless other things. Thor has a knack for plenty of different tasks. Though even with seeing it grow around him Thor still hasn't quite figured out modern technology.
Sample Story Arcs: The first and naturally the easiest is trying to rekindle his relationship with his brother Loki. Wanting to believe that Loki is a changed man, but naturally having his doubts.

Thor wants to see a re-birthing of Asgard and goes on a journey to do so.

Meeting a wonderful young woman in Jane Thomas, Thor has to decide if he can continue being the mighty warrior, or finally settle down.

Sample Post (This is used as an introduction to your writing – try to keep it to around three paragraphs or more and try to include dialogue): Midgard's alcoholic brews just never quite satisfied him quite like the Asgardian beverages. The kind of 1000 year old fermented masterpieces of booze that a mere mortal could only possibly barely handle. Still the occasional beer did its job to soothe away any woes he had at that moment.

The cabin he had made for himself all those years ago still sufficed perfectly. Aside from the rare kids who would come out to it, because of some stupid myth it was haunted by the ghost of a crankily old man. Thor didn't really have anyone bother him and he was perfectly fine with it. The house had only just gotten electricity to come to it, but aside from a refrigerator and some lights Thor didn't really have much else. The one time he really tried to watch TV it just made him annoyed to the point he broke the TV punching it, and the internet... that library still won't let him back.

As Thor finished the last of the bottle and not having much else to do at the moment got up from the old couch to get another beer. Carelessly tossing the empty bottle into a trash bin with a small 'clang!' emitting from it. Thor opened up the fridge to find aside from random small dishes he had made for himself recently. The fridge was practically hollow in its emptiness.

“Damn.”

Thor sighed annoyed as he flipped the door close, throwing a jacket on over his beat up t-shirt and jeans to go get some things in town.

Thor always felt weird doing these sort of things everyone around him seem to never really think about. How back all those years ago he'd never one think to get something himself, the Asgard kingdom had more than enough people there to get him something at his slightest whim. As Thor grabbed a case of Samuel Adams, he thought for a moment about that, and its sad but natural course into what had happened to his home. It seems like a day to day wonder if he should hope Loki is alive or dead. At least dead he might finally have made peace with the nightmare he caused.

"Ugh Loki, you're making me shop at a grocery store. You are an evil prick..." Thor just weakly joked under his breath as he stopped and looked around the store. Trying to remember where the bologna was.

Character You Wish To Play: Johnny Storm - Human Torch

Moral Alignment (Hero, Villain, Walking the Line): Hero

Affiliation (what group/team/organization, if any, is your character affiliated with?): The Fantastic Four

Character Origin & Backstory: Johnny Storm, son of Franklin Storm and sibling of Sue Storm was never as smart as either of them. He learned public education, and he wasn't very good in school. He had a rebellious personality which got him into trouble a lot. He wanted to become as smart as them, he just didn't ever seem to be as good as them. Sometimes, he felt like the odd-one out.

Then his mother died, Johnny's father was devastated and went into a deep depression. His sister had to become a motherly figure. Sue had to watch him over him, to make sure he didn't get in trouble. He ignored her a lot, and did dangerous, dare-devilish things. He was an hot-head. Soon, the two headed to the NY Comic-Con. Sue was Hawkgirl and Johnny was Hawkman, he saw it fit. They met Reed Richards, an awkward nerdy guy, and Ben Grimm, a big guy with a Boston accent. Mostly Sue and Reed talked. Johnny was happy that she made a friend.

Then they came back. Talking about her new friends she made, Reed Richards and Ben Grimm. She told her father about how smart Reed was, and how he's very prestigious. This gave their father an idea, to make The Future Foundation. Johnny joined his sister and the other two at the Baxter Building. He saw this as a way for him to learn a lot. Plus it seemed pretty cool, they headed to a desert in Nevada to test the N-Zone Teleportation Project. Johnny didn't realize how much that it would change all four of their lives forever.

Powers and Abilities (What can your character do? What can't they do?): Johnny has the ability to burst into flames at will by the words "Flame On" and "Flame Off". He can fly as well, from being as light as oxygen. His body's heat can rise, making his flames hotter and more effective. If he hits Super Nova, which is the temperature of the sun, he'll destroy everything including himself. His power is also controlled by the way he feels, especially excitement.

Sample Story Arcs: Give 2-3 ideas on where you want to go with your character. (Same as Drew's.)

After the big project, the teleportation device his father was working on, fails spectacularly. Reed finds out one of the people who was working on it has mutated for the worst, a strange monster like creature that buries itself underground and produces mole like monsters a sexually. Finding out about him and having to fight its now mindless form leaves Reed depressed and blaming himself, on top of what happened to himself and the other three.

Reed along with the rest of the newly announced Fantastic Four begin to put the pieces together about where his father went and what happened to him, which leads them to a certain castle in Latervia.

(This one with Kid Lantern's permission of course) After their constant struggles and disappointments against 3D Man, The skrulls decide to use the Fantastic Four as the base for a new Super Skrull prototype. However when they get DNA samples from the four it causes the heroes' powers to go haywire, and result in the curious side effect of being able to exchange powers with one another through physical touch.

Sample Text:
Johnny looked around. He just woke up in a hospital bed, he wondered what happened. "Uuugh..." He groaned, his head hurt. He looked around, and slowly sat up. Where was the others? What happened after the N-Zone Teleporter thing went out of control? Was his sister okay? A nurse walked into the room, her eyes widened as she saw Johnny trying to sit up. She said something in French. "What? What does that even mean?" He asked. She said something in French again, then she realized he couldn't understand her.

She walked out of the room, and called for a doctor. He rubbed his head, how long has he been out? He looked around the room, there were things that he couldn't read. Was he even in America right now? A doctor walked in, he held a chart and looked at Johnny. "Hello, I am Dr. Leon. I'm glad you've woken up. You vere out vor almost a day." His voice was heavily accented, was this guy French? "Where am I?" The French doctor smiled, "Vhy you're at Beliveau Hospital." Johnny scratched his head, confused. "Not that, like what city am I in right now?" The French doctor was patient with Johnny, "Paris." He said.

Johnny's eyes widened, "WHAT!?" He then ignited in flames. The doctor jumped back, he yelled in French. The nurse ran in to help the doctor, when she saw Johnny in flames, she shrieked. "AAAHHH!!!" Johnny yelled, "SOMEONE HELP ME!!" The sprinklers finally turned on, but it didn't do much! The nurse ran out of the room. What was happening!? Johnny fell out of the bed, he then touched the heart monitor, only to make it burst into flames and spark. Johnny dropped and rolled, nothing was working! "I'M ON FIRE!! SOMEONE DO SOMETHING!!" The nurse came back with a fire extinguisher and fired it at Johnny.

Player Name: The Kid Lantern

Character You Wish To Play:

Moral Alignment (Hero, Villain, Walking the Line): Hero

Affiliation (what group/team/organization, if any, is your character affiliated with?):

Originally from Twin Peaks, Washington, he declined membership into Canadian superteam Alpha Flight. However he may join another superteam based in the 'States if offered...

Character Origin & Backstory:

Louis Martin's mutant abilities developed seven years ago at the age of sixteen right behind his twin sister's. Louis was a quiet kid, but his sister had dreams of super-stardom. With their mutant powers being stronger in each other's company, the two were asked to join the superteam Alpha Flight at the age of twenty. Jeanne Marie took them up on the offer and took the name Aurora, however Louis continued his skiing and was somewhat of a local celebrity.

Louis used his knowledge of skiing and wrote a few books for aspiring skiers over the next two years as well as a fictional novel about a group of friends at a ski lodge with a hot tub time machine. His sister became a superhero in her own right, and came out about being a lesbian. Some time after however, Jeanne Marie was killed in the line of duty by a Wendigo which sent Louis into hero-mode. Louis assisted Alpha Flight in taking the monster down but chose not to stay in Canada long. Later, the team would recruit a man who could become a Sasquatch.

Louis took the name Northstar and protected Twin Peaks for a year or so before setting his sights on NYC. Looking for a new book deal after success with the friends and the hot tub, Louis moved to the city while still using his abilities to check on Twin Peaks four or five times a day. Since living in NYC, Northstar has made enemies out of the Wrecking Crew member Bulldozer, Citadel, the mutant mercenary Killspree, and Tempo.

Powers and Abilities (What can your character do? What can't they do?):

Northstar has complete control of the kinetic energy his body produces down to the molecules and uses the energy for super speed and flight reaching the limits of near light speeds. His body however can only withstand the speed of Mach 10 [7,400 mph] without more durable protection and eye-wear. Recently he's been noted as producing blinding amounts of light as well as blasts of light energy from his hands after the mutant speed thief Tempo slowed him down, and his strength has increased slightly to match his durability and he can easily lift five tons. His reflexes and agility are also super fast and he can make sharp turns while in flight at his top speeds.

He's still not the greatest hand to hand fighter and lacks any formal training.

Sample Story Arcs: Give 2-3 ideas on where you want to go with your character.

Wendigo War: While checking in on his remaining family in Twin Peaks, WA, a pack of Wendigos attacks the town. With a population of just over fifty-one thousand surrounded by snow and mountains, it might be a little hard for a solo hero to protect everyone... even with super speed.

Big City Showdown: Bulldozer comes back to take his revenge and brought his pals Piledriver and Wrecker from the Wrecking Crew.

Inhuman Adversary: Northstar has a run-in with the Inhuman duplicator Tusk, who was hired by an unknown enemy to take down the hero at a book signing.

Sample Post (This is used as an introduction to your writing – try to keep it to around three paragraphs or more and try to include dialogue):

Additional Notes: I switched Northstar's secret ID with his adopted father's [just sounded too French for me], made his hometown in the USA and based it on Twin Peaks [the tv series], and I also made him straight and his sister a lesbian as well as his inspiration for becoming a hero. The girl in the sample post is also somebody normally affiliated with the New Mutants and X-Force, and will most likely be his love interest if nobody else has claimed her [it's Boom Boom].

Character You Wish To Play: Frederick "Fred" Myers AKA Boomerang

Moral Alignment (Hero, Villain, Walking the Line): Villain

Affiliation (what group/team/organization, if any, is your character affiliated with?): None as of yet.

Character Origin & Backstory:

Migrating from Australia into the US at an early age, Fred's mother sent him away to baseball for his first summer in the country, in an attempt to get the boy to make friends and to take his mind off the move and her recent divorce. Sending Fred to the camp turned out to be a good decision, as he quickly grew to love the sport, joining his local team after discovering he had the arm to be a great pitcher. He soon began to dream of pitching for a major league team one day. Amazingly this dream seemed to come true, with Fred becoming a professional baseball player in the minor leagues after graduating high school, before entering the major leagues a few years later.

However it was during this time that Fred seemed to fall into a bad crowd, and after a while built up a considerable dept with a local loan-shark. In an effort to payback his debts, Fred began taking bribes to loose games so that his loan-shark could bet on him. This plan backfired tremendously however, with Fred getting caught out and suspended from playing baseball any more. His life fell apart after that, with Fred simply staying home all day and refusing to leave the house.

That was when he was approached by Secret Empire, an international criminal organization who felt that Fred had the potential to be of great use for them due to his world-class pitching skills. Due to his Australian heritage, they aptly named him Boomerang, equipping him with a costume, as well as a collection of razor sharp boomerangs. After robbing a small bank in Brooklyn for the group, Fred wasn't happy with his cut, considering he had done the heavy lifting. Due to this, Fred gave an anonymous tip to the police on the group's location and had them arrested.

Keeping the suit, Boomerang soon branched out on his own, performing a variety of minor robberies. He was soon confronted by the amazing Spider-Man, and after a short scuffle, found himself behind bars. During his time in prison, he began to plot his revenge against the hero, forming a hatred for the guy. He soon discovered that his cellmate, Herman Schultz, had also been apprehended by Spider-Man, with the two bonding slightly over this. Herman soon suggested that they form some kind of team, in order to more easily complete heists, as well as have more firepower once the heroes turned up.

Returning to the streets of New York, Boomerang and Shocker brought this idea to life, inviting both Hydro-Man and Speed Demon to join them.

Powers and Abilities (What can your character do? What can't they do?):
While Myers has no real superhuman abilities, he is skilled in the area of creating and using complicated boomerangs of his own designs as weapons. Examples of his arsenal includes:

Explosive Boomerang: Detonates on contact, damage to all in one area.

Razor Boomerang: A boomerang capable of cutting through bone and flesh when thrown correctly.

Both of these designs are collapsible for easy concealment.

Supporting Cast:
Herman Schultz AKA Shocker: Herman was Fred's cellmate during his most recent stay in the slammer. After getting out the two stayed in touch, working jobs together. Herman is probably the closest thing Fred has to a friend, as well as being the one whom (unfortunately) introduced him to Hydro-Man and Speed Demon.

Morris Bench AKA Hydro-Man: A fellow super villain, Hydro-Man often teams up with Boomerang and Shocker when the opportunity arises.

James Sanders AKA Speed Demon: A speedster, James is as annoying as he is fast. Fred often finds himself wanting to throttle the guy, and the only reason he hasn't is because he's useful.

Sample Story Arcs: Give 2-3 ideas on where you want to go with your character.
Heist of the century: The gang attempt to get their hands on a legendary (possibly made up) artifact that currently lies in the hands of the infamous Kingpin of crime.

The New Sinister Six: After the spectacular Spider-Man apprehends the villainous Sinister Six, Boomerang decides that his crew is good enough as any to take the mantle!

The Thunderbolts: Apprehended once more, Fred finds himself on the raft, although things may not be as bad as they seem when he receives a unique offer from the warden.

Sample Post (This is used as an introduction to your writing – try to keep it to around three paragraphs or more and try to include dialogue):

Character You Wish To Play: Victor Von Doom

Moral Alignment: Doom

Affiliation: Latveria

Character Origin & Backstory:

Victor Von Doom was born in the hills of Latveria in the camp of wandering gypsies, on the night of his birth there was a terrible storm and lightning struck the camp, some said it was a bad omen and talked of casting the newborn babe out but Doom's mother proudly declared that the Gods themselves had failed to kill her son and that no mortal would do any better. He was named 'Victor' to honour his first triumph against the very heavens who wanted him gone.

Victor was raised in the travelling group for a few years, he had few friends except for a girl called Valeria; Victor was also taught basic arcane tricks by his mother and, being a child, he thought nothing of this. It was a happy existence until local soldiers came for his parents. His mother was charged with witchcraft and was executed on the spot, when Victor's father intervened he was shot also. Victor was soon expelled from the travelling gypsies who called him a bad omen once more.

Victor left everyone knew and Latveria itself, heading to America.

Victor spent many years in the states, his mind proved well-suited to learning the sciences and he greedily absorbed all the knowledge he could. The US Military located Victor and co-opted him to work for them developing new weapons for their forces. Unfortunately Victor's skill did not save him from a tragic lab accident. His face was grievously scarred by the incident and Victor left America soon after. He blamed the American need for progress for pushing him too hard and causing his injury and so ensured that all his creations were destroyed before he left.

Doom's life then consisted of travelling, he explored many areas of the world where no one had documented and learned many teachings from the wise figures he found; not limiting his education to (as he saw it) Western science, Victor broadened his understanding of the Arcane and Magyks of the world. It was here he began to refer to himself as 'Doctor' and clad himself in hooded garments to hide his deformity. During this period Doom visited such remote regions as Wakanda, the Savage Land, and even travelled to Hell.

Seemingly accidentally Doom ended up in Latveria and, seemingly without reason, he launched a coup and took over the kingdom in quick succession. Within weeks he reorganised the country into a thriving and productive nation. He maintained a cordial if distant relationship with the United States, preserving Latveria's independence. For its part, the US publicly decries the dictatorship of Von Doom whilst privately maintaining his diplomatic immunity and purchasing his weapons which have ended up in the US military and the black market alike.

Powers and Abilities:

Dr Doom is a highly proficient practitioner of magic making him capable of great feats of sorcery with an strength that is difficult to quantify. He is capable of unleashing his magic in forceful blasts but usually chooses to concentrate his magic on great feats of power such as telekinesis and teleporting.

Doom is categorically a genius, easily of the same calibre of Reed Richards, Tony Stark and others. He has turned his great intellect to revolutionising his homeland of Latveria, which is now a shining beacon of progress (at least on a technological front). In addition, he has created many technological creations such as his robotic copies, the Doombots and more advanced weaponry than has been seen anywhere other than Stark Technologies.

Doom's armour is well known and the monarch is never seen without it, capable of withstanding a beating from multiple super-powered beings and the harshest of conditions, the armour functions as protection, a survival suit and an arsenal of deadly weaponry all on its own and its casing has been protected with the most powerful magical wards that Doom can place. His armour is capable of unleashing deadly bolts or rays of electricity and has a powerful inbuilt forcefield. Doom often carries multiple handheld weapons and gadgets on his person for all sorts of scenarios.

Sample Story Arcs:
Superhuman Arms Race: Doom offers asylum in Latveria to all superpowered criminals, will he be able to maintain his rule when his new subjects stick to their nefarious ways?
In Doom we Trust: An underground resistance is spreading fear and anti-Doom propaganda in Latveria, the cult of personality Doom has cultivated is cracking and revolution is in the air! Who is behind this outrage? Can Doom defend his throne?
Doom's Day: As a prominent world leader Doom often graces other nations with his presence. On a trip to celebrate the opening of the first Latverian embassy in America Doom is ambushed. No way out, no backup, can Doom survive the siege?
Can a Doombot Die? A rogue Doombot is on the loose! Believing itself to be alive and containing the memories and personality of its creator, it has the potential to be an invaluable tool against the original Doom. Who will discover it? Can you trust a robot? Can a doombot truly die?

Sample Post:

Castle Doom, Latveria
The shadows shook when Doctor Doom returned. As though anyone hiding within had taken a breath to steady their nerves at the sight. But no one was hiding in the shadows, no one would dare, Doctor Doom was back and no one could hide.

Doom knew the castle as intimately as he knew each and every inch of his armour, they were both made to his exacting specifications. Unforgiving and cold.

Doom had barely walked through the great doors of Castle Doom's entrance when the servants arrived. They busied themselves with the task of taking their master's cape, checking his armour for any imperfections and providing updates on anything, anything at all that had occurred in Latveria while he had been away. Doom barely noticed them anymore, they were performing their duty and doing so well, that was all that was needed. Not waiting for them to keep pace or remove themselves from his path Doom strode through the small mass of menials and made his way purposefully to his throne room.

The throne of Latveria was a marvel of technology, like all Doom's creations, it allowed a single person to activate and use all the means Doom had installed to run Latveria. From that throne one could quite literally control the entire country with the touch of a button. Like a great deal of the technology in Latveria the throne was imprinted to Doom's DNA and quite fatal to any who attempted to gain access without Doom's express permission.

Which is why Doom was beyond stunned to see another figure sitting atop it.

The figure was facing away from the room's entrance towards a giant screen that illuminated the room. The screen showed a very detailed map of New York, the very place that Doom had returned from; as with all Doom's surveillance the map showed key points of interest labelling the city along with key and vulnerable features marked in notable hues. The indication was clear, whoever was trespassing in Doom's throne was clearly intending to use the resources he had accrued in a pointless attack on the American city.

The figure gestured and the large throne swivelled to face Doom. The figure on the throne wore Doom's signature armour, green garments and even his iconic mask accompanied by a green hood. In short, Doom was facing one of his own Doombots.

'What is this?' Doom's voice was cold and held the metallic tint of a voice obscured by a mask.

'Excellent, you have returned. Update me on the progress of our work in New York.' The sitting copy's voice was richer and resonated with more force than Doom's own, a clear sign of a duplicate.

'Rise, you have forgotten your place.'

'I-' The copy appeared momentarily confused. 'You dare question me?'

This was always happening, Doom mused under his mask, Doombots allowing their programming to make them forget that they were Doombots in the first place. Clearly a problem he would need to address.

'I order you now, speak! Detail the progress!'

'Enough of this charade.' Doom raised his arm, preparing to unleash an electronic pulse that would render the Doombot incapacitated. The Doombot did not move, it would be unable to anyway, Doom had installed many safeguards in his creations including programming that rendered them unable to attack their creator.

Doom activated the electronic pulse and...nothing happened. He tried again and still nothing. Now he was genuinely mystified; perhaps his armour had been hacked somehow or some virus that interfered with his weaponry.

Indeed, Doom was so confused that he didn't notice the copy rise from the throne and raise his arm in exactly the same fashion that Doom himself had done moments before.
What Doom did notice was the shock of electricity that ran through every nerve in his body, his armour shut down immediately and he felt himself fall to the floor, numbness setting in. His senses dulled and he found it difficult to see through his mask.

But he heard the laughter.

The copy stood before him. 'You, like many before you,' it spoke drily, 'are just another failure born of Doom's brilliance.'

With that, the standing Doom, for that was who he was, reached down and wrenched the head of the Doombot, for that was what it was, from it's shoulders. He held it aloft, almost fondly, before turning and striding back to his throne. With a simple movement he deposited the Doombot's head onto an arm of the throne.

Immediately information of the Doombot's progress filled the screen, days of work and many activities were compartmentalised and given order in nanoseconds before appearing on the large screen. Doom analysed the information in silence before rising once again from his throne and beckoning to Boris. The old man stood to one side of the room, out of distance of any potential danger that the Doombot could have caused, at Doom's gesture he approached the throne.

'My Lord?'

'The time has come Boris, prepare my private jet.' Victor Von Doom surveyed his map one last time and knew that the pieces had all fallen into place. 'Today we fly for New York!'

Boris nodded hurriedly and turned to leave.

'And Boris,' the old man stopped, Doom gestured to the ruined Doombot on the floor, 'Have that cleaned up.'

NAME
Felicia Hardy / The Black Cat (II)

MORAL ALIGNMENT
WTL

AFFILIATION
The Kingpin (and his associates)
Herself

ORIGIN AND BACKSTORY
Felicia Hardy was born to two loving parents to a middle class neighborhood in Queens, New York. However, tragedy would soon arrive at the doorsteps of the Hardy residence when Felicia’s father, Walter Hardy, had to flee for the safety of his family. This of course was due to the fact that in his past Walter Hardy had been known as a grifter, thief, and con artist who was known internationally as “The Black Cat”. Wanted for his crimes over his storied career of heists and cons, Walter’s crowning achievement was the theft of an experimental super soldier process— a job he never finished due to a moral turnaround at last minute thus hiding away the contents of the process in one of his many hideaways. Unfortunately for Walter, The Kingpin’s criminal syndicate were on the trail of one of his many identities and fearing for his family’s life he disappeared as he began to lead his pursuers on a wild goose chase for over a decade.

However, as noble as this may have been it was not without consequences. Felicia was distraught throughout her youth which led her to act out in angst, sadness, and anger. Despite the foundation of her childhood friends such as Mary Jane Watson, Felicia’s knack for getting into trouble outweighed her friend’s positive influence. Felicia coped with picking locks, using her wit to charm others, and getting into rough fights throughout junior high with other girls. Her mother Lydia became distant as she threatened her daughter with the consequences of juvenile activities and the fact that Felicia was turning into a misguided version of Walter— a fact that only made her mother impose more rules and threats by the time she made it into high school. Mary Jane tried to keep in touch as the two friends ended up at different high schools but it seemed Felicia was on a downward spiral.

However, one night over the summer after her freshmen year Felicia found herself ensnared. The Kingpin’s associates had finally made the connection with The Black Cat and Lydia Hardy. In order to flush out Walter they extorted Felicia’s mother and kidnapped Felicia. The truth behind her father’s disappearance was revealed and Felicia found her whole world destroyed. As her father came out of hiding to save his daughter with super soldier serum in hand something wicked happened. In order to ensure Walter’s loyalty and that he wasn’t giving them a dummy serum they did the one thing they could that made sure of the authenticity— they tested it on Felicia. Felicia’s next moments were pain, agony, and mutation. Felicia refused to die from the agonizing process.

Following the incident Felicia found herself intimidating in being trained to work for these criminals by the threat of them killing her father if she sought help, attempted action against them, or acted unfavorably. Felicia Hardy would become the second Black Cat and would serve them as their “acquisition specialist”.

Returning home to her mother, things evened out. However, things grew tenser at home as her mother starts to date widowed police detective, Harrison Thompson. She finds a friendship with his daughter, Jesse – and a rivalry with his son, Flash. But Felicia carried on… and her story continues.

POWERS & ABILITIES
  • Artificially Enhanced Physiology – Felicia has been modified due to a “super soldier serum” that has given her strength, speed, durability, agility, reflexes, and senses to a high level that is either peak human or near-superhuman. These come with a cost of altering Felicia’s brain although it seems her morality is still in-tact.
  • Probability Manipulation – Felicia has the ability to manipulate her own personal “probability field” to modify chance to play in her favor. This was a latent x-gene that mutated during her transformation process.
  • Expert Thief – Felicia is a skilled thief skilled in stealth, picking locks, escapology, evading alarms, and cracking safes.
  • Hand-to-Hand Combat – Felicia has been trained in martial forms during her time working for The Kingpin. Such training has led her to combat reflexes, superior technique, and so forth.
  • Firearms – Felicia has basic-to-intermediate firearms training.

KINGPIN

NAME
Wilson Fisk \\ The Kingpin of Crime

MORAL ALIGNMENT
Villain

AFFILIATION
The real question is who is Fisk not affiliated with? When it comes to the criminal underground, Fisk has made a name for himself uniting a small army of gangs and underground organizations. From the Owl Gang to the Hand to the Russian Mob, many of the crime organization on the eastern shores of the U.S. pay their respects to the unified banner of Fisk's coalition. Whilst Fisk's empire is not as rugged as it once was, his name still buys respect in the criminal underworld, and many gangs would be happy to associate themselves with him. Fisk's illegal misgivings are masked by his legitimate investments in business ventures through Fisk enterprises. Notably, Fisk is also rumored to have ties to Hydra, but the validity of these rumors is in dispute.

ORIGINS / BACKSTORY
Wilson was the son of a New Jersey native, a man who was born and raised in New Jersey by his two Italian parents. It was on a hot and humid New York summer night that Bill Fisk met his soon to be wife in a hazy, smoke-filled hookah bar. Marlena Fisk swore that Bill was a good man when she met him; a genuine sweetheart. But as time passed so did his affection and warmth, with each passing year one another becoming more and more displeased by their entrapment in a marriage in which neither of them felt endearment any longer. Bill was fast becoming a dire alcoholic, and doctors discovered Marlena was slowly becoming schizophrenic, showing primitive stages of the disorder. The only thing that kept them together, the last threads binding them, was their child, Wilson. As Bill Fisk's alcoholism grew, his abuse on his family grew with it; both verbally and physically. Rows plagued the house, and Wilson's father's unpredictable rage and volatility ruled his life. His mother grew more and more schizophrenic as Wilson entered his early and premature teenage years. His father refused her care -- "Do you know how much money that slick shit cost?" -- and her condition grew worse.

It was muggy and sultry August evening when Wilson was 15, when his father came home. He had spent the last of his cash on liquors and gambling it all away at Italian owned casinos. In a spurt of ill-tempered fury, his father began battering his mother with unkempt anger. Fisk attempted to block out the sounds, cowering in his room. However, it was in vain; the screams of his schizophrenic mother, who could no longer make sense of the world around herself, slithered their way into Wilson's head. It was this time, the pre-natal X-Gene, oft said to manifest itself to the beholder of the gene in situations of high stress, emerged within Wilson's body. His muscles swelled, his bones expanded, and his height sprung upward. The gene had mutated him into a giant of a man, seven feet of pure and unadulterated brawn. With anger in his heart for the years spent under the iron fist of his abusive father, he beat him to death with his bare hands, half in act of protecting his defenseless mother and half in act of pent up rage against years of oppression and angst. His mother, no longer recognizing her hulk of a son, cowered in fear from him, any sight of him conjuring up visions of the bloodbath of that fateful August eve. Wilson fled out of state, partly in escape from the law, but also to escape the deep remorse and sorrow he linked with his family home.

Perhaps by chance, after a long series of short stints in other cities, Wilson Fisk found himself in the Bronx at the age of eighteen. He may have been just old enough to grow bare whiskers on his chin, but his freakish size and strength offered the luxury of being able to mask his age. Fisk always believed as a kid that strength and power was the key to affording others' respect. Never had the statement rang as true as it did in the underbelly of the Bronx. Wilson used his gifts of considerable size and strength as a weapon, but also as a universal tool to unite those under him. He began a small gang, after all, all criminal masterminds have humble beginnings. He slowly grew his group, whether it be through large recruitment campaigns or whether it be through the assimilation of other gangs, whose facets would be absorbed into Fisk's gang. Slowly but surely, Fisk was building a criminal empire. Fisk's rise to the king of the criminal underworld was slow and steady; it's like they say, the road to top of the mountain is steep and prolonged, but the way down is a sharp, fast drop.

Fisk was atop his game, entrenched in his prime if you will, when he met his wife Vanessa. She was a foreign woman, and her perfume gave off a slight hint of oak. She had a mysterious aura to her, one that ultimately became Fisk's weak spot, as he met the love of his life. He met her at an art gallery at which she worked, courting her through his gentility and chivalry. There was a time when Wilson Fisk believed he needed no one else to be content; that he was happy alone. His perception changed as his love for his wife Vanessa grew, and he began to know the true depths of the emotions he was capable of. Emotions which he had suppressed since his childhood, which he had locked away, in an attempt to make himself not feel for anyone anymore. It should be no surprise that when his wife grew sick with something the doctors could not diagnose, Fisk's heart was decimated. He left his crime empire in the hands of one of his associates, and devoted his time to his wife. He threw large amounts of assets and sums of money at doctors, in order to figure out what was causing her illness. A doctor named Dr. Zhoria diagnosed and cured his wife almost miraculously, and in return Fisk promised that if Zhoria ever needed anything Fisk would be at his beckon call.

Rival gangs saw this as a moment of weakness. They saw a crown on pedestal, sitting there, beckoning to be taken. Like tide on a beach, Fisk's empire was receding in his absence. But the Kingpin of Crime was back, and ready to take back what was rightfully his.

POWERS / ABILITIES
The X-Gene in Wilson has afforded him tremendous size and strength. He has become 450 lbs of pure muscle. His stature gives off the visual of blubber; however, his body weight is not as it seems. He can lift things from cars, trucks, and buses to things as large as boulders. He is able to hurl such objects, although not without his fair share of strain. Things such as battleships or other large aircrafts are out of Fisk's weight range, and he is incapable of lifting them. Coupled with his enhanced strength, is his enhanced durability and endurance levels. His ability to resist external blows and attacks his heightened, his thick skin and muscle acting as a pseudo-armor of sorts. This mutation affords him some agility, not superhuman agility, but more agility than you would expect from 7 foot 400 pounder. X-Gene aside, Fisk has many skills, attributes and tools which he can put to work. He is a skilled martial artist, trained in the forms of Sumo. Fisk is multilingual as well. He knows English, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, and Mandarin. Fisk often carries a diamond encrusted walking stick which contains a concealed laser beam piece that fires a quick pulse of 300 watts, which, in case you were wondering, is about enough energy to vaporize a handgun into ashes. Fisk's diamond stickpin also contains a small, highly compressed container of sleeping gas which is effective when fired directly into an opponent's face at close range.

But perhaps his most dangerous weapon is his influence in the criminal underworld. His criminal empire is vast, and with it comes an eclectic collection of hitmen, middlemen, thugs, weapons, and allies. Fisk has associates in every alleyway, paid cops in every division, bribed judges in every court, and contacts in every organization. There's a reason they call him the Kingpin of Crime -- it's because New York is his kingdom. Many gangs in New York rally under Fisk's banner, whether it be the fierce Russians or whether it be the noble Japanese, and it's this aspect of the Kingpin that makes him all the more dangerous.

SAMPLE ARCS

Return of the King: After spending a year tending to his sick wife, Wilson Fisk is back in the game of crime, and he is not happy to see his kingdom being ransacked by bandits and marauders. Fisk begin's the "hero's quest" to retake his dominion, and reinstate his monopoly on crime. (I'll most likely be using this as my introduction arc)

The King's Men: Fisk amasses a coalition of super villains (whoever is interested) to participate in a crime wave the likes of which New York has never seen. Where there is smoke there is fire, and Fisk uses the distraction of a conglomeration of super villains wrecking down town New York to steal a live Warhead from a military base.

All That Glitters is not Gold: Fisk grooms his prized burglar (The Black Cat) and a group of highly skilled thieves to break into Fort Knox. Oddly enough, it is not the gold that Fisk wants from the government treasury, it is the weapon of mass destruction which the government has tried to stash away inside the fortified walls.

SAMPLE POST

Fisk sat at the refined mahogany oak desk which had been custom made for his height. Behind him, a penthouse view unfolded like a pop-up book through large, pristine glass windows. The city churned below, the sounds of engines, car horns, and people fluttering up, barely gasping it's way to audibility so high above the ground. Fisk twirled a pen between his fore finger and thumb as he stared coldly at the man who sat across from him. The man was wearing pinstripe suit and pants, a red tie, and a midnight black fedora. The man's jet black hair was slicked to his left, and a deep gash ran through his cheek.

"Money is a callous thing, is it not? Mr... Mr. Belcastro was it, yes?" began Fisk, his voice scratchy like gravel on concrete.

"Uh, yes sir-r-r-r," stammered the Italian "businessman" with a heavy accent.

"I find that so often it has so much power. It's rather odd when you think about it, that a scrap of green paper holds so much leverage. It has the leverage to turn a man of principles into a man of lies and deceit. Honor and respect smolder, brotherhood and fellowship are cast aside... and it's all just for something as inconsequential as a slip of paper. You wouldn't happen to know what I am talking about, would you?" said Fisk.

Before the man had a chance to respond, Fisk continued, "No, I thought not."

"Honest, Mr. Fisk, we didn't know! We thought you were gone and -- and, we thought maybe -- "

"You know what they say Mr. Belcastro, life and death are but phases of the same thing, the reverse and obverse of the same coin. Death is as necessary for man's growth as life itself. And boy, do I think you're going to sprout and spring, arms stretched towards the sky like a beanstalk," said Fisk, before abruptly standing up, dusting off his trousers.

"Now if you'll excuse me," he said, stepping forward from behind his desk.

"Please Mr. Fisk, please, I'll do anything, you gotta believe us! We didn't mean for this to happen, honest -- " pleaded the Italian mobster.

"James will see you out Mr. Belcastro," he said, nodding at the body guard across the room.

Fisk began to walk out of the room, with the man still yelling after him, begging. He stopped and turned to James and saying in a low tone, "Try not to get any on my carpet this time."

Fisk barely heard the gunshot on his way out, muttering to himself, "The song is ended, but the melody lingers on... I've got work to do."

NAME
Wade Wilson / Deadpool

MORAL ALIGNMENT
WTL

AFFILIATION
Weapon X

ORIGIN AND BACKSTORY
As an adult, Wade Wilson discovered what he had finally been good at: killing people. In fact Wade was so good at facilities of murder he found himself being transferred into a special unit of skilled soldiers before he hit the age of twenty-three. By the age of thirty, Wade Wilson acted with extreme prejudice. Eventually, Wade Wilson was recommended for leave in spite of his superior military service due to a health concern: Wade Wilson had cancer. Taking this time out to try to investigate ways to subdue it, Wade was eventually approached by researchers of a obscure research project by the name of Department K. Believing their research could remove his illness he joined and began the painful process, but by the end of it Wade’s dormant healing factor became thrown into overdrive; but the catch was there was no bridging the pain of regeneration or purification of his cells. Wade felt every second and every day for several months of his cancer being wiped from his body.

During the recuperation process, Wade found himself in a facility obscurely associated with the project located in rural Canada. This is where Wade Wilson met Doctor Emrys Killebrew, his enforcer Ajax, and several others. This is also where Wade Wilson would lose himself. Killebrew was fascinated with Wade’s “supergene” that allowed him to regenerate all sorts of levels. Believing it to be the process to create a super soldier program that would rival HYDRA and SHIELD’s glory days he began to pick apart Wade Wilson and for quite some time Wade felt this on a daily basis as he succumbed to pain that he could only imagine. Wade attempted to bond with other patients of the program like Worm to keep him from losing himself despite the constant agonizing pain. Wade even began to think that he was communicating with the visage of Death, but death never came. One night, Wade heard how his constitution and endurance were put into a betting pool— the Likelihood of him living. He tried to escape, but even with his training the unbelievable amount of pain placed him at a disadvantage. When Worm died, Wade lost it and attempted to kill Ajax. The punishment for such insolence was Wade’s supposed end as he was deemed to have served his purpose. Ajax and Killebrew dissected Wade, chopped him into tiny pieces, set him on fire, and tossed him in a drain pipe. A normal person… would have died.

Regenerating from the state Wade had made him finally not just go over the brink of madness, but dancing in the fields of madness. Seeing Death again was nice for Wade, but he refused to be ready for it when the taste of vengeance drove his will to live. The regenerated Wade found his memories in pieces; only remembering fragments of the recent years. Eventually finding himself in New York City, Wade began living off the money of drug dealers he non-specifically murdered as he tried to get things on track. Wade began calling himself “Deadpool” after his memories started coming back regarding on what he witnessed in Department K and sought to hunt down Ajax. However, finding Ajax and by extension Killebrew was very difficult— even for a man like Wade with a certain set of “skills”. As the weeks went on Wade discovered that Ajax had supposedly resigned from Department K and had decided a career in organized crime was more befitting his type of psychopathy. Fortunately, this made Ajax much easier to find considering he had decided to setup shop in Detroit; a place where Wade “infiltrated” as he began killing through Ajax’s thugs and scientists to get to the top of the chain where he could end Ajax’s life but not before he told him where to find Killebrew. The answers he got after several firefights pointed in one direction— Weapon X.

Thus it was time to sign up.

Team X was a group mutants who worked as black ops special forces troops who did whatever Romulus told them to. No one knew exactly who Romulus was, but they knew that he was an ancient mutant with the ability to coarse animals to follow his bidding. The animal within Wolervine had betrayed him, and Logan was under Romulus' control for as long as his feral mind remained intact. For Logan to break free, he would have to acknowledge that he was more man than monster.

Team X consisted of Wolverine, Sabertooth, Deadpool, Copycat, Maverick, John Wraith, Mastodon and later Lady Deathstrike and X-23. The latter two were all created using Wolverine's DNA and possessed various parts of Wolverine's mutation.

Team X operated during various wars and conflicts throughout the years. They battled the Sentinel Order's Asian division in Korea during the Korean War. When the Cold War began, Wolverine and Sabertooth were sent to Russia to locate a device capable of creating Carbonium, a metal similar to Adamantium but easier to synthesize, and less poisonous to humans when handled without the proper equipment. They encountered the agent known as Omega Red before escaping with the device and delivering it to Romulus. The team split up briefly when the Vietnam War began, with Wolverine sent to take down an out of control super soldier named Nuke. Logan succeeded in bringing the man down, and brought him back to Weapon X before being sent back to Vietnam. Wolverine continued to assassinate various politicians, generals and activists who stood in the way of mutant progress. Romulus' forces clashed with the Trask family and their Sentinel Order as history continued to move on, oblivious to the secret war occurring in the shadows.

Now it is 2012, and hiding their war is becoming harder and harder. The newest member of the Trask dynasty, Bolivar Trask, has taken over Trask Industries in America and started to work on the Sentinel program. Mutants are going missing every day, and Romulus believes Trask is somehow involved. So he was assigned Wolverine with the task of hunting down everyone involved in the scheme and bringing them to justice, freeing his mutant brothers and sisters in the process.

POWERS & ABILITIES
  • Super Soldier Physiology – The physiology gained through experimentation on Wade has transformed Wade into “The Modern Age’s Captain America but way cooler” and as such gives Wade a condition that is ‘peak human’ in terms of endurance, strength, perception, and dexterity.
  • Healing Factor – As a byproduct of his accelerated x-gene, Wade’s degenerative disease was curbed due to the acceleration of a latent x-gene that unbeknownst to Wade existed in his genetic code and as such revealed itself to be as a healing factor that is even more tenacious than Wolverine’s own. Wade can survive even the most fatal of injuries.
  • Close Quarters Combat – Wade was trained as a special operations operative and soldier in his early adulthood and despite his insanity has carried over instinctively. He’s a “MLG pro” at military CQC, Krav Maga, Jujitsu, and Judo. This also extends to his use of knives and katanas.
  • Marksman – Wade claims to be an expert sniper despite having little care for accuracy; his gunfire turning entire neighborhoods and facilities into swiss cheese. Though while his preference for submachine guns and inaccurate displays of “Deadpool-style gunplay” Wade is telling the truth in that he was an expert sniper and spec-ops operative before his foray into Department K.
