I have done that type of game as collecting things, there needs to be obstacles like angry workers or because there seems to be a little thing with creatures here so evil creatures for each level to get past or avoid. You have to collect everything and you can get a bonus. If you complete a level then you could get a piece of the broken artifact and at the end you use all the money you got to get a magical glue to move the pieces together and glue them to fix it.

@carla6677 I don't think glue could fix an artifact that allows the tavern to exist in multiple universes simultaneously. also the price to replace such an artifact is a number we only use to measure distance when on uses light-speed travel we're talking seventy eight zero's here

@carla6677 but also there's supposed to be stuff like were the player interacts with there party members while in the tavern (kind of like how one can in mass effect)
