So far the party's composition sounds as though it is the beginning to a Dungeons and Dragons Perform (Comedy) joke that one might have seen in the old Dragon Magazine.

I think that unless we find ourselves in initiative order, or someone is attempting a surprise round, we are likely to just be interacting amongst ourselves, @darkandstar, @VKAllen. In my opinion, this makes character building and companionship much more credible rather than moving from event to event.

Overall, I am hopeful about that.

Not to post twice, but I am away for the night. That said, I might attempt to persuade one of the guardsmen handing us picks to give us a bit of insight as to what we are up to.

Only a reasonable attempt, given Branor is human and so are they.

I think in a D&D Play by Post scenario, you cannot control the NPC characters as the GM would know how they would react to it.

This is the method I used when I DM'd a campaign previously.
