I have yet to try it myself, but I admit I have never seen so many unaffiliated people in one place just wandering around with their phone and talking to others about it as well. Fourteen alone just at the park I oft frequent.

there was a dude wandering the streets at 2 am alone the other day. there are no streetlights, here.... he has the dumbs.
hubby and i wandered the neighbourhood last night at like 11 to find a few. walked in on a bull frog cult ceremony, though. so many just chilling on the sidewalk...

The mapping system is surprisingly accurate, even for regularly devoid locales. There's some using them in the desert here and they still find a fair amount.

I haven't had to traverse any odd places for them. If I see one out of access, I just shrug and go home, and it turns up again closer or somewhere more accessible.
