Since I want nothing to do with the previous historical iteration of your galaxy, and since I refuse to do the typical extragalactic aliens ploy, I am going to need to get very faintly creative.

Remind me. Is this the Milky Way, or some other galaxy? If the latter, should I presume otherwise nearly identical properties?

So I'm actually a bit stuck on whether or not I should make my Hivemind Empire (And I use the word "Empire" very loosely) to be the typical extragalactic threat i.e. The Tyranids

Or if I should just make them a fledgling group to reach into the stars... If any of you would like to help me out on what you all would prefer it would help me out greatly, because although they are a pre-existing race from a past RP I essentially have to rework everything about them.

@Sigmaif you would be okay with the extra-galactic threat like the Tyranids, I'd be okay with playing that, otherwise I'll figure it out somehow XD

I don't really know who those two are but okay, I wasn't much of a fan of the beyond the galaxy thing in the first place so it's no loss to me to not do that. I'm just a bit stuck on ideas as to how I should add in an entirely new race/nation with the few hundred year jump from the prior RP.

As in where would they be located? Have they been discovered before? How close are they to other nations that they were able to develop unimpeded long enough to reach into space?

Those sort of questions are the ones I have after figuring out that they're definitely not going to be extra-galactic .-.

Half of the galaxy was left mostly unexplored, most of the southern quadrant being "Known Space" Your bugs could've been from uncharted parts of space and have recently came into contact with the nations within Former Imperium Space.

That works great! I wasn't sure how acceptable it would have been for me to ask for something like that, and as far as the size of them do you decide that at random or is there any sort of rhyme or reason behind there size?

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I get this done as best as I can :/

Sure thing, under one condition though. I would very much appreciate it if you were to tone down the Gashathi. If that is not possible, perhaps a new faction?

Yup, you're set to move it over as well.


They were like that way cause they just appeared. Now a hundred years passed, their rule is solidified, other vaults have been probably opened, and they aren't in much of a need when it coems to the Gashathi themselves. I plan on doing actual battles this time, as previously I had no battlefleet to speak of.

And their tech is still gonna be pretty advanced. But war is probably gonig out the window, I have no time IRL to fiddle with such an increase in post count.

First off, how about stowing the attitude? I'm trying to be nice here and not offend, other GMs would probably be much more blunt then me. And I gave your faction a shot in the last thread and quite frankly, me and the others did not like what we saw in the last few posts made. I allowed your faction because I saw potential in it. But the sheer overpowerness of it all had put me and others off, and I feel that maybe you're not ready for such a thing.
