- Name: Jennifer White
- Age: 14. Well, she looks 14. For over twenty years, she's served with the Outbreak Agency and there are indications, but no paper trail, that indicate she's substantially older still.
- Gender: Female
- Appearance: Just an ordinary student.
- Personality: Quiet, unassuming, and almost completely detached from her day to day life. Whatever Jennifer was like when she was younger, it's quite clear that her current situation doesn't excite her one bit. Even fighting to the death with powerful weapons doesn't fully motivate the girl. They might get her blood pumping but they don't test her skills; she wants opponents that compete with her swordsmanship using weapons of their own; someone that could match her and her first sword in a contest of skill would make her happier than even a hundred near-death battles.
She enjoys the peace that school provides, compared to most of her life experiences, even though the façade inevitable gets broken and a few people learn about her extracurricular activities... which just gets annoying. The Englishwoman hopes to keep it going for longer this time. - Equipment: Though Jennifer is highly skilled, her ability to effectively combat the more dangerous enemies faced by the Outbreak Agency is facilitated by utilising legendary blades of increasingly potent make to supplement her swordsmanship. Her collection includes every sword that formed part of the Matter of Britain--Excalibur being the jewel of them all, though Fragarach comes a close second. She also has a substantial number of lesser blades, from simple wooden swords to normal blades of steel and recent high-tech alloys.
The full set of swords is graded on a scale from one to ten, with the greatest of modern weapons falling at about a three, even though in some cases their cutting ability is superior to the lesser mythological blades. Permission has to be granted to escalate above the simplest of these due to either the potential damage of the weapon or the psychological effects it can have on its wielder or those in the surroundings: Laevateinn is in the former category; Dainsleif and the Muramasa blades fall under the latter.
All of these are stored in what appears to be a simple bag for javelins but, when opened, reveals that folded space has been used to contain an entire collapsible rack storing them from least powerful to most. The Outbreak Agency might have the ability to lock it but, since Jennifer isn't interested in going beyond whatever limit applies to the fight and she needs full access just to clean the things, it's never come up.
The one thing that isn't stored there is Excalibur's scabbard. After so long bearing it, Jennifer gained an understanding of the item that allows its shape to be altered and, consequently, it decorates her hair rather plainly. - Abilities: It can't be said that wielding legendary blades for more than a normal lifetime comes without side-effects. In Jennifer's case, this manifests as an uncanny speed and reflexes... provided that her skill in battle is coming into play. It straddles the line between developed skill and an unnatural ability: the degree is obviously beyond that a normal human could expect, but the speed itself seems to be limited by the far more mundane question of whether Jennifer feels that the situation is dangerous.
There are two abilities granted by the one item in her collection that isn't a sword--and between them, they explain how someone could live so long and so dangerously with no more strength or physical durability than the ordinary person. Whilst Excalibur's sheathe is in her possession, Jennifer doesn't age, and no injury is too gruesome to survive or heal from... though the time taken can be excruciating. - Skills: Jennifer is, almost unquestionably, the world's greatest swordsman. Someone might claim it because they're skilled with a particularly amazing sword and undefeated due to that; another because of mastering every style from a country. People that can do surprisingly great things with a normal sword and special attacks are closer, from her perspective, but still far away. She claims the title because, with even a wooden sword, her technique is able to slice through a tank. Even a rolling pin or a back-scrubber is a potentially deadly weapon, though they're so poorly suited that it's a deliberately non-lethal choice. Improved weapons and their special attacks are simply a multiplier on the base level of skill.
She's also a very good swimmer, considering that it's the one school sport she has the skill to compete in on even a regional level, and gets consistently impressive grades, as you would expect from someone to have done all of this three times over already. Semi-secretly, however, Jennifer is actually a klutz when not focused on swords. The regular bruises and bandaging have nothing to do with her work... - Brief Backstory: Back before any World Wars, even before Queen Victoria died, there was a girl in Cornwall that liked to look around at ponds, rivers, old quarries, mining refuse--all the dangerous sorts of places that nevertheless held the chance of interesting things. In one of her excursions, she found what appeared to be an old sword scabbard that, polished up, was very fine indeed. It was only the first item from the Matter of Britain that Jennifer found.
The second was a sword, like many she would later collect, that had resisted the march of time aside from some grime. She was just a child and had no reason to learn how to use these... but something about the sword made her think of a legendary warrior, someone to try and equal. Something that she had to do to be worthy of owning such a weapon.
So she practised and put more time into collecting the other swords, eventually restoring Excalibur to its sheath and finding the broken Sword in the Stone. Having drifted far away from her family and collected everything from the Matter of Britain, Jennifer travelled to the continent to continue acquiring legendary swords going to waste, especially in the chaos of the decades that followed.
Her travels, and the conflicts that someone carrying far too many legendary weapons inevitably got caught up in, came to a dead halt when this brought her to the attention of the JSDF and the Outbreak Agency: Jennifer made an attempt to add the Kusanagi to her growing collection of Japanese swords and was stopped. Rather than leap to punishments that would either be excessive for a fatality-free incident or just postpone the inevitable second attempt, they employed the English girl in exchange for any other swords that might come the agency's way.
Her cover for over twenty years has been going through school from Junior High onwards, now once again at the 'start' of her academic study. The first time round, it was because she badly needed the education, but now it's just because she's not got anything else to do. - Allegiance: Outbreak Agency
