I've been looking at that roleplay of yours; Seems like you have a decent group put together. I know a few of them, and they haven't ever wronged me, so you should be in good shape. I hope it turns out successful; We need more roleplays that actually get seen through instead of being ditched after a few weeks because people got bored with their new toy.

As for me, I am actually considering running a group roleplay myself; Though my little project is currently in an extremely early stage of development, so I'm just doing my usual 1x1 thing and slowly building that up on the side. Hopefully will see it as Interest-Check worthy in the next month or so. If I don't scrap the idea like I constantly do to many of the potential Group RP's I've started making in the past. I have a real bad habit of completely wasting my time and never using my ideas.

Working towards having it all backed up, yeah. It'll be a while until external drive's an option, because my current PC can't handle transferring information from USB to one of those, but I plan to do it as soon as possible, and I've bought one already.

Good to know you've had good experience with the group. I'm actually curious which of them you know. I'll be doing my best to make sure this role-play goes all the way until the end, yeah. Really does seem like role-plays dying is a constant norm on this site, and I don't plan to let that trend bleed over into my projects.

Interesting. I'd say don't commit to hosting a role-play until it sticks with you long enough that you know it's not gonna just get replaced by some new idea you have shortly after you start. I've been having the same mentality myself, which is why I didn't host a role-play until I found something I knew I'd stick with. This current role-play project being sort of connected to my main story means it's pretty much guaranteed that I'll be devoted to it.

I don't really like throwing names around, but I know three of them excluding you. Aside from some personal differences roleplay-wise, I can firmly say they're good folks. Dying roleplays are common, and have been common ever since Old Guild, sadly. We've only gotten worse and worse over the years, in my opinion; But I'm still here, so I can't shittalk the forum too much. We still have a few decent people around.

I haven't hosted a roleplay in over a year; And I don't intend to host another one unless I'm fully-able to devote my time to it and find people who won't just flicker out after a week. The amount of roleplays I've had die is, quite honestly, very discouraging; But It doesn't stop me from wanting to do it. Hopefully my next roleplay goes decently; And life will also hopefully stay out of my way.

It's a piece of shit, yeah. As for how much data, I'm really not sure off the top of my head. A very large amount of pictures, music, and notepads.

No obligation to give names. Given how a portion of the people in my group are new to the site, some of whom only joined because of me, knowing there's three of them actually narrows it down considerably. Anyway, I always make a point of weeding out potentially flaky players, which is one of the several reasons for the extensive OOC and detailed requirements for character registration. No matter where you go, you'll find good people and bad people, honestly. This site isn't unique in that regard at all.

Actually, one of my plans is to back all of the information for GRG up somewhere off the site, so it'll be able to continue if this place fucking explodes again.

I'd have offered for you to jump in mine, but you clearly have a lot of stuff going on and I figured you'd already have asked if you were interested. When you decide to host something, I'll help out if there's anything I can do. I'd obviously have no idea if I'd get involved or not until I see what it is, but - as you can probably tell from my thread - I know how to make sure shit gets done and people do what they need to do. I'm also pretty good at picking members.

Obviously. There are, in fact, good and bad people everywhere; The sad part is that the majority is always bad. Never can the opposite be true anywhere, and that's a huge pain in my ass. Thankfully we have enough decent folks to keep some roleplays functional on the site, otherwise it'd be even more of a graveyard than it is currently.

I sadly can't suggest anywhere to store all of it; All I can say is to try and figure out a way to get all your stuff off that PC and onto an external quick, before anything happens.

Your roleplay is interesting; You've probably spotted me looking in there over the last month or so on occasion; And I honestly did consider joining. But, I dislike joining group roleplays when I'm uncertain I can keep up; And the idea of slowing down you guy's progress any and damaging the RP is completely repulsive. So in the end I simply decided to stay out of it for the sake of not disappointing the general playerbase there.

As for your offer, I'll keep that in mind. I might be a bit slow, but I can manage my roleplays well; And while i dislike occasionally having to do so, I will put my foot down when I get ticked. I'll make sure to throw a link your way once the Interest Check is done; But until then, I'm keeping it to myself.

The majority tends to be bad because society in general has negative values and mob mentality/bystander effect are very real problems. It's still fucking annoying even if it can be explained, as you said. That's why it's important for those who're good to remain that way, and not end up joining the rest of the idiots.

I've got plans for how I'll back GRG up. I just need my PC to cooperate to pull them off.

With regards to your role-play, yeah, I'll wait until the interest check's up; however, keep in mind that when I offered my help I didn't mean it exclusively in the form of GM assistance or anything. Really, it could be as simple as helping you find a decent group or making sure that things don't have issues. Even if it didn't end up being something I'd participate in, I could still do that. It sounds like you've had issues in the past with finding devoted people, which has caused your discouragement.

In terms of GRG, I don't want to pressure you into joining or anything, but since you've mentioned you're interested in it, I'll tell you what I honestly think. I mentioned it with Ailyn too, and we're pretty much of the same opinion. If you don't think you'd end up quitting due to 'losing interest' reasons, then I'd say join up. In all honesty, with this many players the posting schedule might be a little on the slow side, though naturally I don't want things to get delayed needlessly and I did tell people not to let it sitting for longer than a week or something without a good reason.

If worst case scenario comes up and life gets in the way, it'd only take you logging onto the site for a few minutes and letting me know so we could come up with a way to kill your character off. I fully intend to kill off characters if their players end up holding us back, but doing so in a way that's more satisfying to the player will be my first option if the player actually contacts me instead of just vanishes into dust. Just my opinion, anyway, since I don't want to pressure you. Do keep in mind though that as it currently stands you're basically the final person I'm offering entry to, so I'd appreciate your final decision on this one way or another sometime in the near future -- within the next few days, if possible, because I'll be filling in the missing character slots with more of my own later this week. I'd like to have you with us, but I'm not planning to push for it.

Since you're actually interested in it, I guess keep an eye on the IC whenever you have time. I expect things're gonna be quite the ride, and I've set a lot of things up there specifically to avoid spoilers for people who just want to observe. You're welcome to comment in the OOC if you like, and we've got a Discord channel which does have a few people who aren't players.

I don't have too many IC posts on the site yet, considering I'm only in three relatively new role-plays. It's more irritating for me to look back at my old posts and see inconsistency then it is for me to spend thirty minutes (essentially how long it'll take, roughly) to edit them.

I can understand where you're coming from; It makes sense entirely. Personally it's hard for me to look back at any of my posts because I always know I could've done better.

Hell, even rereading our IC here this week made me a little agitated at my posts. I suppose it sounded great in the moment, but now it's just a pain to reread and cringe at on occasion.

On my end, I thankfully don't usually have that problem on any sort of level other than 'finding typos I have to fix because I'm a perfectionist' or 'being unhappy with the format of the writing style'. The problem I've got right now is the latter. Generally speaking, I don't dislike my actual writing itself, even if I'm always telling myself I can do better. I'm far more 'Grammar Nazi' on myself than on other people.

So you know, I'm basically getting rid of the italics used for thoughts, if I go through with this. They're pissing me off, because in my eyes it's weird to use italics for thoughts if you're also using italics to do things like this in your writing for emphasis. Whenever I see italics without the quotation marks, I often can't tell if it's meant to be third person dialogue (narrator) that has heavy emphasis, or first person internal dialogue (thoughts), because the whole point of quotation marks - in my eyes, anyway - is to separate a character from the narrator, and since I always specify who is speaking and whether it's speech or thought, it seems completely redundant to use italics, and just makes things needlessly confusing. For example, if I write an entire sentence of dialogue with emphasis, it'd be in italics -- that makes it impossible to distinguish from thought if I don't specify what it is.

Like I said, I'm a stickler for the details. I don't 'Nazi' other people's writing but I do it with my own.

Also, I guess it went over my head a bit due to the fact that I haven't played Layle's game, alongside the bad mood thing.
