@Oak7reeWill our standard equiptment be more varied once we're out in the field, or is the M1 our standard issue weapon there too?

@Oak7ree Can Bel still use her lightly modified Karabiner 98k, or does she have to use standard issue? The pair both had 98ks and Lugers as weaponry, but if they were told to switch the only real issue would be Bel having to adjust to sniping with a new weapon.

@Oak7ree Oh no, he doesn't care shit about the importance of the object or how rare it is, he is pondering about his practical use.
Like, sure, a M1911 is cool and all, but a silenced gun would have been better.
Or a very powerful rifle.
Something like that, you know.

Also, can Óscar get a bow and lockpicking tools when we deploy? And a bunch of bottles with liquids.

The odds of being able to carry around a bow without drawing attention are low. Most good bows are as long as a rifle, and they attract far more attention than guns in a setting where soldiers with guns are common. They're unusual, and they're likely to get you noticed. As are arrows.

@MegaOscarPwnIf you're going to use a silenced pistol, the British Welrod 9x19 Parabellum would be your best bet. Only problem is that by our timeline, it's only just been put into design (in Britain), and therefore probably not put into use by our team until a bit later. And I agree wit shylara, a bow would most likely attract unwanted attention. We're not grunts at the frontlines like Jack Churchill :P

Oscar can kill Germans just by showing his massive ego to them xD

@ONL "He startled train conductors and passengers by throwing his briefcase out of the train window each day on the ride home. He later explained that he was tossing his case into his own back garden so he would not have to carry it from the station" (from the Wiki) This guy has Nikki levels on eccentricity. BAGPIPES!

There's a guy somewhere that freed an entire occupied town on his own. Don't think this is him, though. STILL AWESOME~!

@MegaOscarPwn Look, if you take the American draft, most of those people were not soldiers. That's what basic training (which Oscar has now had for certain, if he'd not already) is for. Then they were sent to fight. Yes, there were a lot of them dying, and there were idiots who did things that sensible/veteran soldiers would know better than to do. And PTSD and desertion were issues. But a lot of them served well. Saying "he's an actor" doesn't mean he can't become a good soldier. Don't blame Oscar's flaws on his profession.

And I have no idea how acting would have to do with the bow, but he's /probably/ better off using his powers to fling the arrows than a bow, as I think the force from the bowstring might break them.

@MegaOscarPwn@shylarah

Then again, it does seem to be in Oscar's character to be a bitch who blames all of his problems on everything but himself.

@MegaOscarPwnI think it's called being 'passive aggressive'. But hey, that just makes for good character development and story-telling :D Disfunctional teams are the best!

@shylarah Lėo Major, the man responsible for the liberation of Zwolle, twice decorated with the DSO, but refused the first, because reasons (read: Bernard Law Montgomery would have handed him the medal, but Major disliked the man).

As for the Karabiners, I'd make them train with both a Springfield and a Karabiner. Also, a scoped Garand is also an option for short-to-medium distances, as it has one clear advantage on the Kar 98k. Of course, I will not force to pick an American weapon, but think about it. And what kind of modifications are we speaking of?

@ONL I had in mind that we started with standard gear, i.e. Garands, Stens and B.A.R.s, but weapons can also be procured on site. If your character, for example, finds himself cold on ammunition, just pick a dead enemy's weapon.

@Oak7reeFair by me. I can imagine Anton being more of an SMG guy, being good at fighting up and close with his sparks.

@ONL Then he could have an SMG.

Story time: oftentimes, team/squad members are assigned certain weapons, for example I served in the Finnish Defence Forces as a bazooka man in a infantry company, assigned specifically a heavier type of a bazooka.

@ONL I think you guys really don't understand how Spanish people socialize. Insulting each other in a friendly way is common around him, that's why when he DOES insult someone or "offends" them, he laughs afterwards, because it's something very common here.

@Oak7reeMakes sense really, better to have an assigned role and weapon in combat so that one can familiarize yourself with the weapon and use it best. But I take it you also had a sidearm or something like it? No use in using a bazooka/RPG against infantry?

@MegaOscarPwnOh don't get me wrong, that's how we socialize here in Norway too. We just don't do it like that amongst strangers, more so around close friends. And besides, it's only Oscar who's Spanish in the RP. The others might not know how they socialize nor care, they might just consider him rude.

I sincerely hope you're not taking any of this personal, because that's not what I intended to do.
