The lorekeepers tell of a time many years ago: when man could freely traverse both the shattered land below and the cruel void above, without fear of the ground rending beneath them or the great black plucking them out of reality. They tell of a time when unprecedented scores of men lived in peace across hundreds of planets, plagued not by struggle and trials. They tell of a time of order and harmony; and while only a fool would dismiss the counsel of a keeper, their teachings are certainly far from gospel. Know that we are safe here: within these walls atop this mountain, we are all that are left. Be uncompromising with your trials, respect your elders, and help all those in need. We can only find our final utopia together.
In the distant future - or perhaps the past, or even the present - intergalactic civilization fell to a great cataclysm. The nature of the cataclysm is all but unknown, and for all the survivors living in the Mountains of Myar know, they are the last men left; and their time is running out.
Welcome to my interest check! It's been a while since I've ran something, so I might be a little rough around the edges while getting off the ground. My vision for Entropy draws inspiration from titles such as Fallout, Firefly, Duskers and Dark Souls, in the theme of entropy in a science-fiction post-apocalypse galactic adventure. The roleplay will follow a group of citizens from the hermit community of Myar that have been selected - or perhaps even volunteered, if they're brave enough - to crew a recovered and repaired "voidcraft" (space ship) and find a path to a utopia for their friends and family. Focuses will include character development, exploration, and learning exactly what happened to the universe, with horror themes.
The void is both terrible and wide, plucking the greatest minds of Myar from existence with ease, so all sorts of interesting stories may lead to a character undertaking the Path of the Void: it may be a punishment for a dire crime, it may be a hereditary responsibility, it may even be a rite of passage before undertaking the Path of the Hands to govern the Mountains of Myar. I'm looking for interesting characters with flaws, and to this end I'm hoping to build the lore around these characters to give them the best chance of being interesting and fun to roleplay.
Please do post if this interests you at all, if you have any ideas for the setting and/or a character, if you want me to expand on any of my thoughts at this stage (which are subject to change if it'll make things more interesting/fun), or anything else really. I'm looking for ideally 4 people but am happy to flex up to 6 if interest is high enough.
