Keystone

Location: Deymins Tower
Interacting With: The Group

Keystone took in a deep breath and blew it back out slowly. This was how it started, generally: The Beginning Of The End. After the big, scary, possibly dead guy threw bits and pieces of their army at whomever Keystone happened to be with at the time, prompting a response from all parties involved, blah blah blah, everyone dies. Well, screw that. He wasn't about to deal with the same scenario again. Not this time. There were at least two or three people in this group he'd be honestly choked up over if they got the still living flesh stripped from their bones.

"Right, my two coppers?" offered up Keystone, eyeing the tower and the door, "I ain't seen a wizard what leans toward death magic ever work decent glamours, so I'd lay money says this's on the ups. But a new door onna old tower's got m'interest all pointy."

Keystone slipped his hands into his coat pockets, withdrawing them as fists adorned with cold, ebon metal - his pair of knuckle dusters he referred to as The Black Knuckles, examples of unparalleled Dwarven craftsmanship applied to an exotic alloy. While not any more effective against the Undead as they were anything else, they possessed a few interesting qualities due to their material, one of which was the capacity to quickly sunder objects that they were applied to with martial force. The door would suffice.

The broad man leaned his head to either side, eliciting a series of impressive popping sounds from his neck. He raised his hands into a pugilist's guard position and inquired colorfully, "You want I should knock, then?"

Thomas Richard Harrison

Location: Barad-dΓ»r (The Tower).
Interacting with: The Tower? The Group? The Gods?

The greatest of wizards walked the planes. From the vast depths of the astral seas above, stepping into the illuminated voids, to the infernal dimensions perpetually plagued by ever-burning flames. And from these realms the powerful magi enslaved the denizens to their collection of treasures amassing each wonder one by one. From there perhaps these planeswalkers would engage in magic duels, competitions of skill and tactics to see which was the superior duelist. It was at times perhaps they would summon such creatures to their beck and call by expending enough mana or magical energy. Some would summon fey creatures more attuned to earth and wood; fairies and the like, unicorns and even giants, others called forth leviathans and krakens from the seas. Other still called forth angelic hosts of heavenly nature, while darker magi like the possible necromancer summoned forth the shadows of death. Yet perhaps of all the magi, it was those who could tame the beasts of flaming purgatory that were the most skilled in destructive arts. Twas the nature of fire and brimstone, the devil you know and the demon within you as the god's first loss and man's first act of power. And with that faint smell of...

"I don't know there could be magic around I don'-Oh by- Hastur that's F-" The Sorcerer managed before being stricken down for his attempts to detect the subtle nuances of residual magic. Most spells left a signature in the air, or rather in the fabric. Like how a tailor can mend and stitch cloth to his or her will, so too could a mage warp reality. It wasn't as much as force one's will upon reality as it was to convince reality to decided otherwise, and sometimes if one was sensitive enough, you were able to sense the fine discrepancies of what should be and what is left by the use of magic. Thus it was often enough that one magic user trained and sensitive enough to these subtle changes in the weave could sense magic be it a staticky feeling in their beards or in Thomas' case a prickle inside his blood as the latent magics interacted with whatever seemed to interface with it. This time however there was not quite a tingle inside as it was a burning. A burning that singed his nostrils with a malodorous whiff so foul words fail to describe what could such ghastly aroma be compared to.

There was death, and there was this, and death dear friends, was far more merciful. For death only reaped, and did not reek. Death decays but does not rot, and this, this vile cloud of pestilence, coming in from the Grey skies above was anathema. The nip in the air could do nothing as the stagnant stank to befoul and purge the olfactories. The aerosolized bioweapon singed each nerve, a putrid touch of bleak bile and vile venom that corrupted the neuronal pathways with the flames of infernus. The pyre of Thomas' nose alighted, and alas, it was too late and the threshold was crossed beyond the veil. Taken by the hand, death submitted his bony grasp to this invisible assassin that yanked the poor sorcerer into the swallowing void. The toxic hand shoved down his throat, dripping of noxious poison ripped itself back out and took with it a fistful of Thomas' soul, as he felt himself die a little bit. And of course, along with the soul, came the bilious broken bready bits of breakfast.

Hurled with great force, or at least enough that his gag reflex could muster in such a circumstance, the fresh vomit projected itself so uncouthly beneath him. It was indeed a spectacle, one that you had to have been there to witness proper, but alas, there was nothing proper about upchucking was there? Nay, Thomas' eyes watered, his vagus fully engaged as a panic set over, the autonomics sending his heart racing as the inevitable load reversed bolused itself out of his mouth as the young mage heaved and clutched his chest. And the waterfall had no end so quickly, like a balloon sputtering out it lasted until the lad came crashing down weakening at the knees as the sorcerer buckled forward to his horror. Planting himself facedown, and soaking his robes in a touch of recently thrownup acids that burned his throat as they left. It was either some terribly great magic, or someone had just shoved their arse....

But let's avoid such vividly disturbing images and return to the situation at hand. There Thomas lay in a collection of his own vomit before the old suspect tower. Winded, heaving, and trying to purge the lingering scent from reaching his brain and melting it, Thomas clutched at his nose and messy mouth while the other hand lifted his head every so slightly off the ground...

Did anyone else smell death?

Satilla Valen

Location: The Tower
Interacting With: The Group

This was rather curious sight. It's not that in her travels she hadn't seen old crumbling towers. She had, many in fact, but this one was still sort of standing so it was already a few ideas more curious than all the others she'd seen in the past. Sadly if it was to fall on their heads as a trap when they enter, well that would be nasty encounter with many stones she doubted any of her potions would help solve.

β€œThere's no guarantee that if there's a backdoor, it would even be exiting somewhere around. Aren't usually secret hidden escape routes leading way way away?” Satilla asked when Nor commented about looking around. They could look about, but frankly it could just be a complete waste of time for that very reason.” Though that said, this gate could be trapped.”

Before she could mention anything to Keystone who seemed eager to break the door down, Thomas appeared to be... she wasn't sure exactly what happened to the young man as he crumbled to the ground after throwing up.” Thomas!” She called quickly moving over to him to crouch down.” Hey, speak to me!” She called, trying to check if he was conscious... He was moving so that was a thing at least!

β€œHey what happened! What did you sense!?”

Kyra & Sana

Location: Tavern -> Heading Towards The Tower
Interacting With: Various
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Sana and Kyra stood there listening to people's suggestions. Sana was all for just going in and getting it over with before some elf came along and sang a sleep song only to lead everyone to pass out and wake up in cages. She shuttered at the memory. Kyra was more of the opinion that they should look around a bit. The white haired lady wasn't against them splitting up so much, couple scaling the walls and others going in another way. Sure, would split up their numbers but then again it could just let them get through this a lot faster. None of them knew what was inside or even if there was anything.

Yet, before either of the women could say anything, all hell broke loose. Or at least was evacuating, from the depths of Thomas's stomach. Neither of the women seemed to see it coming but Ash sure did. The direwolf took a few steps back, which caused Kyra's attention to get turned towards her traveling companion. Sana was listening to Keystone. That was until sounds starting coming from the wizard that couldn't be mistaken. Both women took several long steps back, Sana placing herself behind Keystone. He was large enough to shield her from the on coming flow if it came their way.

"So people always throw up when you are around?" Kyra quipped towards Keystone as she watched the show. It was far too reminiscent of what she had seen Femnal go through after Keystone released the Kraken back at the tavern before this whole adventure began.

Sana peeked around Keystones arm and cocked a brow. "You know, I really should have just searched for that lost goat I saw on the wall of the tavern instead of doing this...." she muttered.

Kyra brought the back of her hand up to cover her nose. "Okay, I'm going in. The smell alone just blew whatever surprise advantage we had..." she said before turning towards the door and attempting to open it. It didn't budge. Again, putting more weight into it, still didn't move. Letting out a huff she tried again, still nothing. Didn't feel like it was locked or anything, just wedged shut. Looking more closely at the door it seemed the hinges were bent. "Hey, tall and broad, wanna take a knock at this damn thing?" she asked as she stepped to the side.

Keystone

Location: Deymins Tower
Interacting With: The Group

Keystone maintained his raised and ready position, hands embellished by thick, black metal. He stood poised to deliver what potentially would be crippling or even killing blows, were they applied to crude matter such as flesh and bone. However, his best blows were reserved, in this instance, for the wood and metal door that refused to move for his companions. If the group's overall plan involved taking him up on his offer to assault the door, he was in prime position to do so.

Sadly, his concentration on self and surroundings was interrupted by the familiar sounds of retching and splattering of used food upon the landscape. He took a quick, cursory look back to confirm with his eyes what his ears detected, then gave a double take when his brain sorted everything out. His hands lowered momentarily, and he blurted with some disdain, "Gravy's bloody sake! The eggs weren't s'bad that you hadta eat'em backwards!" He subconsciously shuffled his feet forward a little bit, hoping that the offending chunderspew didn't speckle his boots.

Keystone caught the touch of sarcasm from Kyra, who was apparently curious about how often people emptied their stomachs in his presence. He gave her a blank stare. "Seems that way, dunnit?" he responded, equal parts disbelief and irritation. Shaking his head, he focused back on the door. Or tried to. This time it was Sana, mumbling something about a goat. "Yeah, I could use me a goat. Nice juicy one, roasted, spiced yogurt sauce with honey... Right, we're findin' us that goat, but afters, yeah?" Maybe it was genuine interest in cooking a goat, maybe it was nervous humor striking before what could be a battle, but the big man was thinking about how he might prepare a whole goat.

He noted the effort that Kyra put into the door, and even as she requested his assistance, he was moving forward to provide just that. Keystone was not a man of education in the formal sense, or even breeding (as he was aware). No, he was a large, physically conditioned man who hit things. This was his role. This is what he did. Living up to his role, he politely motioned as Kyra stepped aside, regarded the door for a second or two, and planted a fist into it hard and solid. If that wasn't sufficient, he had another on standby.

Cyne & Nor

Location: Tower
Interacting with:The group

When the violent upheavals came from Thomas' direction, the group's non-humans were none too keen to be around it. Cyne had the senses and dexterity to make sure she had a wide berth before any of his intestinal fillings could get anywhere close to her. Nor on the other hand didn't actually notice the up-chucking until Thomas had been at it for a few seconds, and by then it'd gotten all over his right shoe. Fucking hells. Yeah he was in full armor and the worst that would happen is that maybe it would discolor a bit, but it was still nasty for a combination of eggs, stomach acid and who knows what else got all over your shoe.

Nor walked away from the rest of the group and did his best to shake off the filth where it wouldn't touch anyone else. Gods below, that kid would have to do something dramatic to get off the dwarf's shit list now.

"If we weren't just going to break in before, we're doing it now." In a similar situation, Cyne might have tried comforting Thomas or try to help him feel better physically, but right now against her better judgement her base feelings were informing her opinions. That primal sense of disgust that says "ew, don't go near him, he's gross." There were many reasons not to dally, but the spellcaster just gave the most pressing one for the moment.

"Ugh... Bluargh-" Not quite yet over, but certainly a loss of brunch and whatever enthusiasm Thomas had for everything. His robes soaked in a mix of his own juices, it would take weeks to get the stains out without fading the crimson colors. His shallow breathing slowed now but steadied from the panic earlier. He could hear Satilla's concern buzzing in his ear, but the boy was still not quite ready to open his eyes to the reality of having experienced this severe vomiting. Any medical doctor worth his or her salt could tell you a sudden change in acids and bases could be fatal, and so could an alchemist. Titrating appropriately was the key, to which the sorcerer had just lost some stomach acids making his body respond by slightly slowing his breathing rate compared to his panic-induced moment. Of course there was not much loss, but enough to make the lad feel woozy as he muttered and sputtered through, still ripe from fresh emesises. A full gastric lavage, and perhaps it was fitting that Thomas felt a choking sensation burning down his throat. Call it Karma, punishing those with good intentions.

This will be the last time he tried sensing any magical auras for awhile. Whatever reaction caused this was either a nauseatingly powerful ward, or just pure bad luck. "I-I'll be a-alright. J-just give m-me a m-moment." Maybe by the time the men got the door open, Thomas would be a bit more chipper as his nostrils still fumed with that rancid odor malingering more than his own intestinal surprise. Bile and acid, half-digested and all. Throwing his body to one side, the mage weakly rolled over twice, and clutched his purged stomach as he lay on his side. A soft groan affirmed his malady. "It w-wasn't the eggs K-Brimstone." Give it a moment and surely he'd regain his strength and some coherency. Until then, perhaps leave the young sorcerer be as he wallowed in the pain of having his body cleansed.

Satilla Valen

This was madness. She realized the degree of severity that Thomas must have felt in order to turn his insides out like that. The way he threw up, probably emptied almost all of his stomach was bad for his body as he was rolling about. This was bad... they barely started and one of them was already down. Luckily there wasn't an enemy present.

β€œThomas...” Satilla said as she moved nearby, rummaging to find his waterskin. The others were hurrying this up so there was not much time.” Thomas, get a hold of yourself! Here... wash your mouth and face with some water. Don't drink yet, just wash and spit.” She added, noting that Keystone was going full door punching mode.

Until he cleans his mouth, the unsettling sensation in it will stay and make things worse. He probably could use a few minutes of rest, but they didn't have the time. There was the option to give him a potion which she would do when she's certain he wouldn't throw it up also." If I knew this would happen, I would have prepared some stomach settling medication..."

Kyra & Sana

Location: The Tower
Interacting With: The Group
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

The door's latch gave way and the door flung open, hitting the wall inside and staying there. Cocking a brow Kyra nodded but Sana was already making her way through. Pushing passed the two of them as she did and giving Keystone a pat on the shoulder as she passed. "Don't care what is in there, getting away from that smell," Sana said as she walked passed, nocking an arrow into her bow. Kyra chuckled a bit, which was rare for her, but seeing Sana flee was hilarious to the white haired ranger.

Inside Sana looked around. The first floor had a plain round table in the center of the room with four chairs seated around it. Along each wall there was a long bench and at the back of the room was a spiral staircase that lead up. Ash padded in behind Sana and rested down on his back legs panting slightly. Sighing a bit Kyra followed suit and glanced around. The walls looked fully intact and well taken care of, nothing resembling how the place looked on the outside. Dotting along the walls were six unique looking suits of armor and various tapestries.

Pursing her lips some, Kyra drew her sword and kept looking around. "Not even any dust on anything..." she said quietly as she looked towards Sana. Sana perked a brow and ran a finger along the top of the table, it came up clean. This didn't sit well with the gypsy anymore than it seemed to with Kyra.

Keystone

Location: Deymins Tower
Interacting With: The Group

Though Keystone's strike landed upon the door with odd quiet, it clattered loudly against the wall behind it. There was no hiding their presence now. They were quite overtly entering what appeared to be a cared-for dwelling, in contrast to its outside appearance. Yup, they were on the right track. "Bloody wizard lives 'ere, or I'm made of fine, fragrant cheese, I am." He looked back at Thomas, still unbelievably (and seemingly without reason) dealing with a massive stomach issue. Keystone began to actually wonder if Kyra wasn't onto something, asking him if people just threw up whenever he was around. On this particular adventure, there was a disproportionate amount of chunk blowing, and he was the cause of much of it. But this? Nope, sorry. Not today.

"Righty-o then, Tommy old boy." he began, tucking his black knuckles back away and filling his hands with his brass-and-silver ones. "Bloke what makes magic 'nuff to raise an army of dead bastards's about somewheres. If'n we're all gonna snuff it, you may as well strike a pose more dignified to die in, yeah?"

Keystone started into the tower, internally agreeing with the present assessment of the other two already inside. He hadn't expected total quiet, though. Not even a token attempt to dissuade their entry. This looked very much like a trap. If it was, he had literally just set his foot into it. As long as he and his new pals were edging toward brutal, screaming disaster, Keystone thought to take in the sights. Perhaps a clue could be gleaned from the decorations around the room; tapestries and such. But that armor... "First on, I gots me unkind 'istory with empty metal suits and the un-bloody-dead." he started in an even voice while cautiously looking over the nearest set. "Never can tell when they got a surprise for ya."

Cyne & Nor

Location: Tower
Interacting with:The group

That door got smashed in far more easily than Cyne was expecting it to be. She didn't think the burly not-Monk that was Keystone would have any problems knocking it down, but she thought he'd go for a shoulder charge or kick; the ways she normally saw people try to break open a door. Well, she supposed in the end it didn't really matter, the method in which the door was removed, just that it was now out of the way. Cyne followed Keystone into the tower and idly walked around the room, inspecting the chairs and armor.

"I believe it's a rather simple arcane spell to clean up a room. If the necromancer were living here, he or she would probably use such a trick to keep the place tidy." Just because you work with corpses doesn't mean you want to live in filth. Honestly, the only reason she even remembered the factoid was because the spell name was a really long, peculiar word. She couldn't remember the name itself; only that it began with the letter P, but the fact stuck in her head regardless.

Nor remained outside, there was still some bile on his foot that didn't seem to want to come off no matter how hard her shook his foot. Sure he could try brushing it off with his hand, but that would be gross and only create a worse problem. He didn't exactly have the ankle flexibility to scrape it off into the dirt, even had he been unarmored yet he was dead set on having it removed before carrying on with the rest of the party. At this rate he'd have to go out and find a tree or something to clean off his foot.

Thomas Richard Harrison

Location: Barad-dΓ»r (The Tower).
Interacting with: Satilla, and group

"T-thanks..." A still weak mutter took the waterskin from Satilla's offered hand. Uncorking the stopper with a quick rinse, pouring fluids over his haggard face and washing out his mouth with a spit. Well, that was helpful, at least enough to allow Thomas to refresh himself and hold his stomach together. Whatever foul odor he had smelled it seemed to pass, although now there was another issue of his robes being soaked. Alas he'd have to take them off and part with the intricacies of his sun-themed robe for now. Lest he alert any enemies of his presence, and by extension the party's. "Uh... Satilla, would you mind... Turning around a moment? I've uh... gotta wash a bit and get out of this robe..." A shy request from a slightly blushing boy. It would be either the butterflies in his stomach or perhaps that queasy feeling that made him a bit more conscious about striping down to his undergarments to redress himself in his Lunar phase robes.

Did they have time for this? Of course, there was always time for fashion-sense. If Thomas was going to die out here, he'd be sure he'd look damn good dying. Just as Keystone suggested not covered in filth and fetal-positioned. Thus as the door flung open with an impressive knock, Thomas slowly rose to his feet, taking care not to fall back down due to orthostatics and fluid shifts from the vomiting. The others could enter in first, the contents of the tower best left untouched by Thomas who had thus far invoked the ire of fortuna until he removed himself of his golden-red robes. Pulling off his soiled garnments and once again unstoppering the waterskin to allow some water to pour over and wash his tanned skin. A blue and silver robe then thrown over his shoulder and fastened together with the hidden ties beneath the overhanging layer. The hood drawn down as an almost inverse of Thomas' original robe which was cast aside over and left to stay upon the ground for a moment. It'd needed to get a wash anyways, a through one.

"Okay, I think I'm better now. Thanks Satilla." A voice a bit strained, but steadying. A few steps taken forward,
avoiding the seeping vomit. He's already one step behind from the group, who had seemingly disappeared into the Tower once the door was down. Strange there was nothing awaiting them on the other side. "Time to go see what the fuss is about right?"

And everything screamed 'trap' when Thomas could see far enough into the open tower. The armors, tapestries, the fact that everything looked so pristine? "Must be a terrible mage for having so clean a tower. The joke here of course being that the most productive mages usually had dwellings littered with research and papers, spells half-crafted with equations, and reagents and catalysts scattered about. A few did indeed have organized areas and pristine workshops, but far and few could manage with the demands of the arcane. Unless of course you were so fantastic a sorcerer you could animate broomsticks and buckets to do all the cleaning.

β€œOhh... okey.” Satilla replied to Thomas as she turned aside and moved closer to the door that Keystone was currently in the process of attempting to shatter to pieces. Well sure enough he did break it open and the others were entering. Satilla stood outside, waiting for Thomas to get ready with what she very briefly caught glance of to be getting changed into clean robes. All in all not exactly the most appropriate time all things considering, but who was she to argue with his desire to not be wearing the now dirty robes.

From what could see from outside the place inside looked very clean. You'd think it wasn't a crumbling tower on the outside with that condition on the inside. Clearly magic was involved into some kind of big masquerade here. This currently made the tower her number one suspicious place here. Chances were now good there was some kind of secret entrance or backdoor here.

β€œOr... that's just a resting area.” She casually mentioned to Thomas when she was finally inside the tower also.” Keep work and pleasure separated?” She mentioned, noting the suits of armor and frowning. β€œ Maybe we should turn them to pieces before we leave? You know... just in case they seem to have the tendency to spring to life for some reason or another...”

Kyra & Sana

Location: The Tower
Interacting With: The Group
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Sana eyed the room slowly, she didn't like this one bit. Almost everyone was in side now and it was quiet. Too quiet for her liking. Sure the people in their little band were conversing but other than that she wasn't hearing anything. That was until Ash whimpered and got on all fours. Kyra's eyes going down to her companion quickly as her fingers tightened on the hilt of her blade. Then another sound came, the sound of steel squeaking. Unoiled hinges. It was subtle at first, and then it grew. It seemed to be coming from all around them.

"One shouldn't waltz into some one elses home and be rude," a voice echoed through the room, like something out of a dream.

"Shit..." Kyra muttered under her breath. That type of thing never boded well.

"I think you need to learn some manners," the voice echoed again from all around. Another creak came from around them, several creaks, many of them, as the the suits of armor seemed to come to life and stepped forward in unison.

"Just had to insult a magic user didn't you?" Kyra said as her head whipped around. Sure her eyes didn't land on anyone in the group but it was more than obvious to whom she was speaking.

Either way it didn't matter, Sana replied nonetheless. "We can talk about manners later..."

We are now in Battle rotation. The first to be posting this round is Cyneberg. I will update after each Rper posts what happens next and who is up next. (Either in OOC or IC, whichever happens to work best during that time until the round is over.) - Not posting the rest or when the armors strike to keep metagaming down to a minimal. Not that I think it would be an issue but keeps one from having to wonder if knowing who was going to strike when affected the choices.

Layout for the fight and general figuring of where everyone is standing. A's are the armor. Why they are moving you do not know yet since you cannot see passed the face armor plates. Call the Armor you are attacking or what you are doing. 1 action per round unless skill or speed would affect otherwise - ask if not sure before you post. Armors are Top Left, Top Right, Top Center Left, Top Center Right, Bottom Left, Bottom Right. (If you can, please let me know if your character moves from their current space and to where so I can update as we go along. Hoping the image will make things a bit easier on all of us.)

Remember, since we are in battle mode, counters from your last post do NOT matter. Going to give 72 hours from each post to reply. If you need longer, make sure to let me know within the first like 24 hours so we know where everyone stands. Any questions, drop me a line in OOC or PM.

And so we begin - Go!

Cyneburg

Location: Tower
Interacting with:The group

All Cyne could think of in response to the voice and its chastisements was that it was far more rude to trying killing people with magic suits of armor. Whatever the lack of courtesy from one or both sides of the current exchange, she was not properly equipped to fight the fight that was just thrust upon them. Her walking stick was not designed to be a weapon, let alone deal with suits of armor, luckily there was room for her to do some shapeshifting into something with more muscle than she'd ever manage to have in her inborn shape.

The half-orc melted away into the larger form of a black bear. While not as powerful as her usual brown-bear form, it made up for it in a great deal of dexterity and the ability to maneuver around the indoor setting she found herself in without knocking everything over. Honestly, the brown bear was usually overkill as far as brute power went in these kinds of fights, maybe she'd need to rethink her choice for common wild shape choices.

Keystone

Location: Deymins Tower
Interacting With: The Group

Sometimes, Keystone hated being right. This was undoubtedly one of those times. As the voice radiated from everywhere and nowhere simultaneously, followed by the creak of formerly inanimate metal, Keystone reflected on the fact that he mentioned this very thing might happen. While others might have taken the opportunity to look upon what might have been their impending doom with anxiety or fear, the big man had a somewhat different reaction.

"Wha'did I bloody well say? What did I say? Fongin', Bacon-damned 'ell I called it!" he seemed wearied at the whole scenario. But he did not long for death, nor was he a mere brawler as his size and demeanor might suggest. His travels had tuned him into a fine, experienced warrior; very likely this was only so because he was fortuitous enough to have survived where others had fallen. He knew a few things not to do. He also had some experience sizing up a situation like the one they were all in.

Now, his first impulse was to run over immediately to help Sana, but three solid facts stopped him. First, she was a competent brawler in her own right. Second, she already had someone backing her up: the Ranger, Kyra. Plus her wolf. But third and mostly, it was poor strategy. With the others soon to be engaged with their own opponents and backs facing one another across a central table, he had to remain where he was to prevent the two nearest him from flanking his teammates or attacking from behind. It would be two against one, but no one in this pissant border town nor anyone near it had seen Keystone at his unrestrained best. He had a lot of aggression to vent and people he needed to keep safe. His group was not going to die again, certainly not because he didn't give their enemies every scrap of what he could offer.

Keystone had faced similar enemies before, but he could not tell exactly what these things were. In that instant, he wished he was wearing his Black Knuckles still with their uncanny knack for destroying barriers, though his silvered brass ones would suffice for the meantime. He stepped forward a few paces, gathering his inner spiritual energies (the irony was not lost on him) and assuming the stance of a Shou disciple. His hands tightened into iron fists around his knuckle dusters, promising that this would not be an overly sophisticated dance more than an attempt at a utilitarian beat-down. Accepting his role; that of the cocky Pugilist, Keystone craned his neck until it popped loudly - even over the sounds of the drawing melee, and with a smile, chewed through words in his shameless underclass accent:

"Which one o'you chamberpots am I shitin' in first?"

Kyra & Ash

Location: The Tower - 1st Floor
Interacting With: No one yet
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Kyra's eyes narrowed as she heard the noise and glanced around. The fur on Ash's back rising some as he lowered down slightly on all fours and growled. "Well give yourself a bloody pat on the back then," Kyra snipped sarcastically at Keystones remark about calling it and referring to the now walking suits of armor. "Maybe you can make them puke too," she said as her eyes narrowed and whipped her head around.

Only one had been able to move so far and it was coming towards Sana it seemed. Sana already had her bow and arrow ready. Kyra knew she would have to move around the archer and perhaps get in the way of any shot she took at the first suit of armor. It was best to stay on her side of the room for now. Tightening her grip on her sword she sprinted towards another suit of armor around the back side of stairs(A2) since it seemed that Keystone was moving towards the one closest to him(A3). She wouldn't be able to attack this round, opting to cover nearly the full distance between her and the armor she had her eyes set on. Ash was hunkered down and moving behind Kyra at this point, staying close enough to his master to take a jump on the armor if he needed to but far enough back that he was out of the way of sword.

A1 moved last round before Keystone went. Keystone has moved closer to his position. Kyra has moved towards a target as well. After those two went, it seemed the armors got a couple to move as well. A4 has moved towards Thomas and Satilla, while A6 has moved towards Sana. Image has been updated. Thomas is up.

Thomas Richard Harrison

Location: Barad-dΓ»r (The Tower).
Interacting with: Voice in the Sky, Armor 4, The Fellowship.

As I did stand my ground upon the room,
I looked toward Kyra, and anon methought:
The armors began to move.

Predictable.
Almost disappointing.
Animated armors.

"I knew I smelled something rotten." A snide remark made by Thomas' reaction to the taunting. It appeared their enemy had revealed themselves. And despite Thomas' joking assessment earlier, maybe the mage had some skill after all. It was not easy to create such constructs, autonomous armor guardians, requiring a spark of willpower was the trick. In theory it was possible to create an army of sentiient and self-aware servitors, bound by the magical arts as a synthetic life form. And yet there are grave ethics to be considered when playing with the forces of life and death, such abominations perhaps ought to never exist unnatural as they were. And yet was magic natural? Was Thomas, born of cosmic power, not such an abomination? A creature born of magic, self-aware and serving the stars that lure their brother closer? His powers from the tainted blood, an infusion from the far realms as ancient as the evening sky. A faint radiant glow emitted about Thomas's sun-form skin, charging himself with the inner light, twas the call to battle, one mage to another. The armors screeched their metal sounds, the terror of their soiled unoiled hinges squeaking away to the vulgar sounds of Uranus, the Magician. Brash brass clashing crass rambling shambling mass reeled unfeeling steel. The coordination slow and puppet-like, moving but barely, as if the weight of its own charge was far more than the force provided. Maybe they were not so advanced as Thomas once thought.

With a quick glance at their frontlines, Sana, Kyra, and Keystone all seem to have things handled. There was a bear now to his left, and the lack of a certain dwarf certainly didn't sit very well with Thomas. The barber seemed to split, and cut himself away for this rather dire battle. There were six armors, and though only a few had moved, six possible enemies to face, and Satilla needed to live to heal the cuts and injuries the rest of us had. Thus it was time to stand his ground, for to his right the boy raised his right hand as if to halt the armor as it approached, creaking away like a macabre tin solider, Thomas gazed at and then past the metal animus. The whites of golden sunny eyes became touched by darkness, turning black from the rim as the world faded away into naught. And as Thomas' vision turned to darkness, so too did manifest a bend in space, a void grew behind the advancing armor. A tear to be filled that sucked in the gap, a pull inescapable that light was swallowed up just as Thomas's eyes turned to pitch black. Alien as they were, a momentary blindness. With the timing mastered over months of practice, Thomas channeled his power with one final collapse of his fingers, suddenly turning a halt into a fist, the spell complete and the implosion imminent.

A strong gravity well pulled the armor animus back, a nearly comical appearance if it were not so dangerous. Returned towards the wall from whence it came, armor dented in the void, crunching like a tin can as the crevice sucked away with insatiable greed. A miniaturized localized black hole, that revealed the true nature of these things. armor twisted in a a kink until pop like Keystone's joints did the face plate become ripped off. And there Thomas could see, although strange that his eyes were able to escape the void that he stared into it which usually occurred with the casting of the gravitational void. What lies beneath was no vacant hollow, but rather, a mortified face, a villager perhaps? One twisted in pain from all the crushing gravity it had endured within the tiny event horizon. So they did get the right place... But was it the right time?

"Armored Undead!" Thomas shouted at the group.
It seemed his role in combat was largey identifying what exactly they were fighting.
"The poor wizard's steel sentinel."

Satilla Valen

Location: The Tower
Interacting With: The Group

The battle started so sudden, Satilla was caught a little by surprise actually. She had expected for them to engage enemies soon, but to think they entered a killing room like this right off the bat was rather unsettling. The front... the back. At least on one side there was now a bear to stand it's ground. The front had Keystone along with Sana and Kyra for whom Satilla was slightly concerned and then there was the fact that by her was only Thomas. The two of them had an armor incoming...

She had prepared to try to trip it when Thomas had unleashed his magic onto the armor, sending it backwards. By the time the magic effect settled, teh ugly truth was revealed. Satilla made a face of sheer disgust at the picture on the inside of the helmet. There was a human... or what was left of a human. An undead body stuffed into an armor." The death deserve to rest in peace." She uttered feeling a little sick at hte prospects.

"Hmmph!" She suddenly pulled her staff into a defensive stance, pointing one end upwards in about a head's height. The opening in the armor's faceplate presented a rather good place to hit and disturb the enemy's movement. If she was lucky she might even force it on it's back. Though admittedly, tripping it might still be the better idea.

Nor

Location: Outside the Tower
Interacting with:?

Nor had just managed to get the last of the half digested food and stomach acid off of his foot when his ears caught a bunch of yelling and growling coming from within the Tower everyone had entered. By the time he'd turned around to face the source of all the noise, there was some horrendous cacophony, the likes he'd never encountered before. An ill-fated dance between the disfigurement of metal and the destruction of flesh, a sound that made the faint of heart sick to their stomach.

If there was one thing Nor didn't have, it was a weak stomach. It'd take more than nightmarish noises to send him running. Drawing his blade, Nor ran into the tower proper to see what in the 9 Hells was going on. Internally he mused that there was about a 50% chance of the noise coming from one of the party members, which would cut their numbers down even further, but if he came in to find most everyone dead, that would be plenty of grounds to cut ties and make a break for it. (Un)Fortunately, that wasn't the case, it was just a suit of armor with a corpse in it mangled and broken, presumably because of the boy's actions. Bloody mages.
