Hazard Squad:

At the peak of the Empire's reign, a lone squad of troopers is assigned to protect a station, at any cost. The squad begins unpacking and starting to relax, not knowing of the large scale invasion on its way...


Dek Gero


Dek looked out the window of their transport in wonder, the large moon looming before him. The station stood out like a sore thumb, displeasing the eye. Of course, Dek didn't care, since he was just excited for his first assignment as a trooper. After such a long time waiting on Coruscant, it was a blessing to be summoned to this station. Even if it was without action, at least the other troopers could regale him with their stories of the war. He wanted to talk to the soldiers fighting for their noble cause. Before Dek knew it, the ship had arrived at the docking bay. He grabbed his bag of belongings and practically raced through the airlock, tapping his foot impatiently while the hatch creaked open. He went to the bunks, and like a young child placed his belongings on one of the higher ones. He walked to the control room to wait for the rest of his squad to join him.

Picking up his stuff from the hangar, DX-25534 walked out from the crampy little space transportation. The seat that the engineers set up in the cabin was a disaster, as it never allows DX to have a good rest from where he was deployed. He was too tired after joining to oppress a revolt from the peasants. It always wondered him as for why these dumb peasants could not see what the Emperor had brought to them. He brought to the security and economic stability. Dragging his luggage along the way to his room, DX saw someone suitcases were on top of the bunker. Shaking his head, DX just put his stuff in the cabinet before falling right on his bed, with on hand over his face. The trip, for him, was been long. And may god, he hope, that the upper guy does not have a too bad of a smell.

Sergeant Nyte, having arrived to the station earlier, had long put away her belongings in a separate room from the bunks of the troopers and walked to the control room to await the arrival of her squad. In her armor, the Sergeant stood tall, the white pauldron over her right shoulder indicating her rank on an otherwise identical suit of stormtrooper armor to the rest of her squad. She looked to her left, out the window of the station and to the looming moon they were orbiting around. Sights like these were common in the Corps, but never ceased to intrigue her.

Finally, she heard the approach of one of her squad members. She stood at attention and welcomed the recruit with a nod, before looking behind him and raising an eyebrow beneath her helmet. Where were the others?

When Dek walked in, he noticed Sergeant Nyte waiting. "Oh, hello, Sergeant!" He awkwardly saluted. "Very nice to be serving under you. I'm Dek Gero. This is my first assignment, ma'am." He wasn't entirely sure how to act around superiors, because despite the Sergeant being...well, a sergeant, she was still a stormtrooper, just like him. "Would you like for me to do anything?" He stood at attention, waiting for a response.

Zack Richards got off the ship and took a look at the station he would be guarding as apart of Hazard Squad. He nodded to himself and headed for the bunks. He saw someone already there laying on a bed and rolled his eyes at his laziness. How could someone like that get put into Hazard Squad? he thought to himself, picking an empty bed and depositing his luggage there. He donned his armor and headed for the control room. He saw to other people there who, compared to him, were tiny. He was used to this, as he towered over most people. His mother always used to tell him he was built like a tank.

The Sergeant nodded her head to the recruit. "At ease. Did anyone else arrive with you?" She asked, moving to the window and looking out. "We should be getting a full squad, trooper."

Upon finishing her sentence, the Sergeant noticed the new, much larger soldier entering, and stood at attention once more. "I was unaware we were receiving a Heavy Weapons Trooper. Welcome to Hazard Squad."

The Sergeant nodded and waved her hand dismissively, sighing under her helmet. "At ease. I don't suppose you have the rest of my supposed squad with you?"

She tilted to the side a bit to try to look behind the soldier. "Or behind you, perhaps? It's kind of hard to see around you, Richards."

Shaking his head to demonstrate that he had understood, DX began to follow after the hulking thing after grabbing his gun. The man before him is quite intimidate. But, DX had saw many other bulking juggernauts die on the battlefield. So unless this guy is smarter, the poor thing should just prepared to get his corpse eaten by the native birds or burned alive by the rebels scum. The time that he serve for the battle had killed his eagerness and youth, replaced by something cool and adamant. So DX learn his way to shut, and he intend to use it all along this trip to the command room.

Stood tall and at attention, the Sergeant welcomed the two with a nod. "Troopers. Are there any more soldiers coming behind you two? With myself, that only makes four. A standard Stormtrooper squad is comprised of ten."

She sighed, looking between the three troopers in front of her. "To those that are here now, then, if you are not aware, our mission is to protect this station. Nothing more, nothing less. Orbiting this moon," she said, gesturing to moon outside the window, "is a small, ugly little station with a single, apparently undermanned squad of average meat-shields to protect it. Welcome to Hazard Squad."

The doors of the control room swooshed open, and through them stepped a bleary-eyed Stormtrooper, carrying his helmet under his arm. Yawning, he looked up, and was startled to see the others before him.

"Hm? Oh! Right then, one sec." He shot forward into line, placed his helmet on, and snapped to attention with a salute. "Private Davvik reporting in, sah! Forgive my lateness, sah!"

If anyone could see under his helmet, they would've seen a very worried face.

Dek breathed a silent sigh of relief when the giant left. When the others all marched in, he grinned. He responded to the sergeant. "I believe we were all that was assigned? Who knows, maybe more will arrive later? As far as I know, all of us are somewhat average. They don't expect anyone to attack." He turned to the others. "I'm Private Dek Gero. Nice to meet you all."
