Seltak Amani

Name: Seltak Amani

Height: 5'7"
Weight: 165
Age: 27
Race: Human/Machine (Nanites)

Tier/Influence: 3 (regional); able to control computer systems with nanites.

Group(s): None

Appearance: On any normal day, Seltak looks like any young adult male human. In fact, his ability to blend in has given him the unique opportunity to earn a good living. Although his nanites allows for him to change portions of his appearance, he typically has short brown hair, bright blue eyes, and an athletic build. His skin his paler than most, though this is due to the amount of time he spends in isolation or in hiding.

Personality: Seltak is professional at his work, but has a knack for getting himself into bad situations. This comes from an inherent need to stick his nose in places they don’t belong. This typically happens when he discovers really bad things happening to decent people. Outwardly, he is a happy man with a positive outlook on life. Deep down, Seltak is lonely, pained by all the years of isolation he endured for the service of his country.

Abilities, Talents, Traits, Powers:
  • ( 3 ) Nanites (80,000 max) -- At a young age, Seltak was infused with nanites to keep him alive. Now they are a permanent part of his being. They not only allow him to live, but they can also allow him to perform at an enhanced rate. Nanites also expire after a week, or once they’ve completed a certain higher function. Below are the base abilities and their descriptions:

    • ( 3 ) Basic Function (10,000 nanites per week) -- Since nanites are required to keep Seltak alive, he must always keep a certain number of nanites within him to function normally. If Seltak begins to drop below the number of required nanites, his health slowly begins to deteriorate, the rate depending on the shortage.

    • ( 3 ) Healing (1,000+ nanites) -- Seltak can heal from wounds faster than normal by allocating nanites to speed in the healing of his wounds. This begins automatically for any wound or illness, using the minimum amount set by Seltak’s personal computer. This still requires the same bodily resources as normal healing would require, so if he is malnourished, the nanites will not activate.

    • ( 3 ) Change Appearance (5,000 nanites) -- Using nanites, Seltak can change some of his personal features. This includes hair, eyes, and skin. If Seltak can obtain a sample, he may also be able to copy someone else’s physical attributes, if the changes aren’t major. (Seltak could copy your voice tone, or your finger prints, however, he cannot grow or shrink, or obtain supernatural powers, for example.) At default number of nanites, it would take a full day to change most features.)

    • ( 3 ) Hacking (1,000+ nanites) -- Using nanites and a small personal computer he carries, Seltak can infiltrate computer systems with his nanites. Number of nanites used is determined by the size of the system, and the systems security measures. All nanites cannot be reacquired after use, no matter the success of the mission. (1,000 nanites would be required to hack and control a computer with a simple username and password, 5,000 for a computer system with decent security, and 10,000 for a strong security system.)

    • ( 3 ) Nanite reproduction (1,000+ nanites) -- Because Seltak is constantly using nanites from his system, even just to survive a normal day, his body must constantly construct more. Using a special diet, his nanites can create 1,000 a day on a 1:1 ratio. Nanites are unable to replicate outside of his body. The more nanites that are used, the faster his stores are replaced.

Items:
  • ( 2 ) Personal Computer -- Small palm sized computer, it is used to more accurately control the nanites within his system. Communication between nanites happens through radio frequency and is heavily encrypted. This system can also store up to 10,000 nanites, using a special port that accepts his blood. PC can also communicate on a network as a normal computer.

  • ( 2 ) Small tool set -- Contains screwdrivers of different sizes and different data port connectors

  • ( 2 ) 40oz Container of water and small lunch box -- Special water and special food to allow for replication material. Usually only has one with him at a time, depending on situation. Each container can sustain his nanite reproduction at 1000 per day for one week.

History:
Seltak was 7 when the cancer was found in his body. Like a wildfire, it spread throughout his body, infecting all major organs. His parents looked for any solution for the problem, but the cancer was too far spread. Once all modern medicine failed, his parents looked for experimental solutions. A government funded project approached them, with the option to save Seltak’s life, if he was allowed to serve the government as an adult. With no other options, they agreed.

Seltak was injected with nanites, with the intent that they would seek out and kill the cancer cells throughout his body. The remedy was a success, and Seltak was given a special diet to allow for the replication of new nanites. Seltak would be able to live a long a healthy life. Seltak was admitted into a special government school to assist with his adapting to life with nanites. After a few years, he realized that he could understand computer systems better. After High School, Seltak began training as one of a hundred other children in espionage and counter-terrorism for the local government, specializing in computers. Seltak began to learn how to defend and attack using ones and zeroes, with the assistance of the nanites within his body. Seltak also learned how to change his appearance and work his way into the enemy’s defenses. He graduated top 15% of his class.

Seltak spent a year at a dead-end assignment, defending an outpost computer system before the war began. After, he traveled their galaxy infiltrating their government, trading secrets, and harboring fugitives. His abilities allowed him substantial access over time, but the time away in isolation caused a toll on him. Though he remained loyal to his nation until its fall, he no longer went out of his way to chat with those he worked for. Mission requirements only. After years of struggle, his government was overtaken by their enemies. Before his files could be uncovered, Seltak fled to the blackness of space.

Three years later, Seltak has become a wanderer, a man for hire. His method of travel is usually a passenger ship going his direction, and his source of income is mostly through information. He does his best not to allow his name draw too much attention, usually acquiring clients by doing his research on the needs of the area. Warlords or entrepreneurs trying to gain an upper hand, or a secret that needs to disappear.
