Just going to go ahead and say the hold up at the moment is...well, I don't know what @Raylah is doing in the latest post and wouldn't mind getting this resolved. There's no current plan to camp, there appears to had been a much larger time skip going on in your post? Vena said he PM'd about it.

If you're wanting to know, the plan is to just get everyone away from the beach. It being over half a day passing in time is a little too much time to pass with maybe a 15 minute walk being probably better.

Noone PMd me about anything - I went by the earlier post when captain said that the city is nearby, but it would take them until next day to get there and back again, so it shouldnt really matter whether they arrive there in the evening or morning. And as for the time of day, I dont remember it being specified anywhere.

I thought we were waiting for shy to take the opportunity to introduce her character to our group. Maybe we should let vena and shy weigh in?

@Raylah So my bad on the PM thing, Ray. I had sent you something, but I wonder if with RPG being wonky as of late it didn't send. No idea, but my bad!

I'll say this for now as a general rule: Leave the timeskipping to me, unless you (meaning anyone else involved in the RP) wants to skip for something. I'm totally fine with people adding stuff/doing little sub-plots, but just run ideas by me so we can mix it in to the overall story :) Otherwise things get a bit disjointed and stuff starts to overlap.

@.@ wait so what is the plan now? I mean, there really isn't anything wrong with camping, and certainly if the town's farther away it'll take longer. If we won't make it back until tomorrow then you're talking several miles, and with it being ~20 min per mile on foot getting to town will take hours at least.

@Vena Sera I can come in now, or I can come in when you guys reach town. But I will say that I don't see anything wrong with Raylah's post, and help reaches the others midday or afternoon tomorrow either way. It also prevents people like Yarri and others less enthused about a Hunter from splitting off once things have been dealt with. If the message is delivered, there's nothing keeping them around anymore.

I should let folks know that I"m a right mess at the moment. We're changing all my meds, and I've been warned it's going to be rough. That's on top of the mess I was already. So I'm around, just...yeah. X.x I was gonna try to write a post now, but it looks like I should wait until this is resolved.

As said in a previous post I was going to enter through once said plans went through, but the post kind of kicks that out of the park so Cecil has no plausible way to enter at the moment.

@Mogtaki Well Amune was going to enter in the village, as of the second set of plans. We can still reach the village, so Cecil should be fine. O.o Unless he needs a nighttime village scene? But Amune needs more of a day one, so that's already an issue.

@Mogtaki I'm confused, Mog. You wouldn't put any of your plans/ideas in the OOC, and now you are upset because we are not playing exactly into the hand you wanted? How are we supposed to ever integrate Cecil if we don't have communication? We can't read your mind.

You are making me feel like I can't post at all because I might interfere with the plans you won't share, and that is extremely frustrating. If you at least had a post of what Cecil was doing right now, we might get an idea of how to help those plot-lines meet.

I can try and put it this way:

The plan, as it stands, is they're making it to the town in one go. They'll spend the evening there, and return early the next day with help. The group on the beach can make it one night, they'll be fine.

There's plenty of leeway between all of that, which should give both @Mogtaki and @Shylarah more than enough time to make their entrances.

Which unfortunately does mean I'll need @Raylah to retcon her post and get rid of the camping bit. The tiger encounter is fine - but setting up camp when they really aren't that far from the site seems odd. If it helps for a time reference, imagine its midday.

@Pascal@Mogtaki I have to agree. It's great that you and Vena are talking, but the rest of us can't do anything to take into account what you need -- and since I've had my plans nixed more than once even after DM agreement because Vena likes letting teh story go where it goes, I'm concerned that you're going to encounter the same issue. I don't want Cecil to be stuck. =/

EDIT:
@Vena Sera To be able to keep Raylah's post, can't it be later in the day, they camp now, and thne reach the town int he morning and make it back in the evening?

@shylarahWe just weren't counting on having such a major time skip in a post not done by either of us, is all. It'd be a bit strange to set up camp when there's so many people in need too when you think about it. The ship was crossing from port to port, so if they landed on a different part of the shore the place shouldn't be too far when you think about it.

@Shylarah Their journey would be even longer if they stopped on the way there, and they have injured. Plus if its midday why would they stop and set up camp, even after say... 2 or 3 hours?

@Vena Sera@Mogtaki port to port can be any distance at all. In theory, it could even be across an ocean. Often villages are a day's travel or more from each other, on foot. It could be later in the day -- I figured late afternoon towards evening, personally, in Raylah's post, and since there's nothing to contradict it that I remember, there's nothing wrong with going with it. Injured or not, you have to travel as far as you have to travel. You help no one by collapsing on the road or breaking your leg in the dark. Help isn't going to set out at night, they're going to wait for morning. So we could arrive in the morning after camping the night and then help travels half a day to reach the point of landfall. Or we can reach town in the evening, and help leaves in the morning and again travels half or most of the day. The biggest difference is how far away the town is, and if nothing in particular is going to happen on that journey, there's no reason not to skip forward -- which was going to be done in one of the next few posts anyhow. The goal here is letting me and Taro in, and then Mogget doing whatever with Cecil.

In short, the only real issue is that Raylah skipped ahead without specifically asking, not the content of her post as such -- all of it fits at least well enough for everything thus far. The whole "gotta get to town, we have severely injured" wasn't a necessary component initially, that was added in after a gameplan was established, and I'm still unclear how we have a lot of badly injured but not a lot of drowned people and yet no supplies to speak of at the same time. Besides, needing help and "ohmigosh we're gonna die if we don't have help RIGHT NOW!" are two very different things, and I thought it was the former. As things were discussed, help should get there at roughly the same time whether they camp the night in the wilds or reach town in the evening. Resting in the wilds and resting in town take about the same amount of time, and there's no reason not to go with what fits -- and the latter means I'll need to change how I handle Amune yet again, grumble grumble. Could we just find something that works and stick to it? Please? Is it a big deal if it was later in the day, or if they spent longer walking and stop a couple miles outside of town, and need to go another hour in the morning? It works for me. Pascal doesn't seem to mind. Raylah wrote it. And Cecil can still show up in town. Is there something I"m missing that doesn't line up?

Then again, with how things are going right now for me, I don't even know if I can post if I'm given an opening. -.- Uuughhhh. x.x

I guess what I'm saying is that we keep making plans and not sticking to them, and it's confusing and frustrating for everyone, particularly those not involved in making the plan who hear only pieces. Whatever we decide -- all of us -- this time, can we agree to stick to it?

@shylarahAll that was requested was to remove the bit about the camping cause they going straight to the town at the rate they're going at like calm down lol

Let Vena decide when he wants a time skip to happen.

I edited the post. But honestly for the next time, just communicate up front - it is nice that you have a plot planned, but when we know nothing about it, we can hardly stick to it.

Hmm, maybe I can have amune come in now. She wouldn't try to steal during the day, but just being close enough to follow them, she might be heard and maybe Yarri and her panther notice. @Raylah think that'd work? I remember someone else suggesting something sorta like that, and now I kinda have an idea of how it'd work...

So... There is magic in this world. Would that mean there are magic creatures? I understand that heading covers a wide bracket: there might be some monsters that have an inherent ability to use small forms of magic (a troll's regeneration, say); there will be some that simply evolved in a magically-charged environment and so have unexpected features (like gryphons, for example); and there could even be a few extreme cases of monsters that melded with the magic and discarded their physical form altogether (such as ghosts or other spirits).

In that vein of thought, would it be fair to say a night outside a city has more dangers than the African Savanna? Or is this area civilized enough that most of those monsters stay far away? I realize this is a big question; if people still live in fear of monsters, they aren't truly masters of the world. But that may only be in the small villages here on the outskirts where the church doesn't care enough to do anything to help. On the other hand, if monsters have almost entirely been driven out of or extinct in the nation's borders, the people will indeed rejoice in their church and feel no need to rely on Magi anymore. The story will have more difficulty finding dangerous scenarios between cities, but the culture will be more prone to infighting.

@Raylah I dropped the ball here, so apologies on that! I generally play the plot-card close to my chest, but that just leads to more problems than ever, so I'll try being a bit more transparent!

@TaroAndSelia Basically, think of it this way: the further from major settlements you get, the less protection there is. Less patrols, less rounds of making sure the area is safe, and less guard posts along the way. So the world, or the kingdom if you want to talk smaller terms, has beasts everywhere, but their prevalence varies depending on WHERE you are. Near cities it'd be more common to find minor creatures, or more "natural" animals.

If we're talking in the realm of like... Gryphons, just since you used that as an example, they're likely not hanging around cities or major towns - they'd be deemed a threat and killed pretty quickly. Humans (just using the broad term here for the sake of convenience) are the dominant species.

As for the magic of the beasts, its safe to assume mythological creatures have SOME "magical" qualities to them. And there is a system in the world for that, since right now we have it that only Magi can use them. If you think about the criteria for what makes someone a Magi - outside of being born one, obviously, you can begin to guess at what species of beasts might have some type of magical ability.
