Hi. I'm Fi.

I hope to guide you through the intricacies of Black Rose Egress; an RP inspired by countless things and set in a universe that has been lovingly crafted. I won't waste much time, so I'll set down the basics; below.

Admittedly, I have a lot of things planned for this setting. Please bear with my gratuitous use of strange terms. As well as my poor grasp of aesthetically pleasing formatting.

• We will be playing the recycled Amalgam Souls of champions past, arranged into new form and given new strength. While this creates new potential in the Augur, the Amalgam Souls are stripped of their memories and forced into an unfamiliar World Shard; becoming entirely new mortal beings.

• There will be two connected realities within this World Shard. One being Corporeal Reality, where the Amalgam Souls are simply humans. The other is Esoteric Space, where the potential of Amalgams are awakened.

• The date in Corporeal Reality is; September 3rd, 2037.

• The starting point in Corporeal Reality is; Cobalt Coast City.

• Amalgams will be pulled into Esoteric Reality at 11:11 PM, and will meet the night the RP begins.

• Esoteric Reality mimics Cobalt Coast City, albeit with major changes to certain aspects to the cityscape. (This will be elaborated upon.)

• This is all to gauge interest in the idea. More information will be provided, in the OOC section.

• I am willing to answer questions, here or through PM. Discord is also a viable method of contact.

I know that this doesn't give a lot to go on, but I plan to engage persistently in discussion; assuming interested parties appear. This is intended to be a 'High Casual' affair with a minimum of 3-4 paragraphs a post, along with encouraged communication between the Players involved.

I'll give this a go. I can play amalgamations. I'll need to ask a bunch of questions though. Which I'm happy that your happy with answering.

@ShwiggityShwah Thank you for your interest. As a note, the Amalgams are a cohesive being. It is simply that they are fragments of previous iterations of champions that have been 'moved around' to create a new identity. This is accomplished by Amara, during their transfer into the World Shard.

Of course I am happy to answer, though, as you said; feel free to ask away.

These champions are fictional characters or based on a theme? Like this devilish rogue was once a bandit queen, a desperado, a pirate, and a wall street stock broker?

@ShwiggityShwah The latter, moreso. A concept, of sorts, with their abilities usually complimenting something of that sort. Though, since Amara has started swapping out pieces and stripping memories; the concepts become a bit more convoluted.

@Fi I'd recommend maybe a sample character as something of a jump off point. I just want to be clear and sure. ^^

@ShwiggityShwah I will provide an example, though I will not create a Character Sheet; as of yet.

A rebellious girl, driven beyond simple anger by the loss of her older brother in an accident. Her abilities would manifest, surprisingly, as the ability to create 'light barriers' and to heal the wounds of others. This is reflective of the distance she wishes to keep between herself and the world, now that she has lost what was essentially her 'rock'. The healing would manifest because of her conflict and an intimacy with the pain she feels; a near subconscious desire to prevent others from falling prey to what afflicted her. That feeling, too, ties into the creation of barriers. As she comes to understand this, her abilities may become more potent; or transmogrify in a way.

This is an example, as I said; but I think that it should make clear my idea of how abilities form around the new identity of the Amalgam Soul. These new identities will have lived their own lives, mind you. Until the night of September 3rd, they are essentially mundane.

Oh yeah I definitely have an idea now. I can develop a few characters off this model. I'll probably deal with the concepts that could stem from fear, victimization, or the approval of others.

@ShwiggityShwah Absolutely. I am glad that you asked about that, I think that other Players may more adequately grasp what is intended now. I like your concepts and look forward to what you will produce.

Got it.

A son of a rich man who was treated as a burden was ignored. His powers manifest on becoming invisible (how his early childhood made him feel) and a brand of telekinesis or object possession. (The drive for materialism had taught him just how important things were, so now things are more important and thus more powerful than people, or even himself. Without things, hes worthless.)

@ShwiggityShwah I like this angle on things. I have not seen it done in quite that way, before. Well done.
