A crack in the night;

a bone chilling roar;

a soundless scream.

Since before civilization, mankind has always feared the dark - or rather, what lies beneath it. Horrors that roam as ideas for us in the safety of day, and come to a wretched life at dusk. Ever and always, man has devised ways to fend off the darkness, methods both real and imagined. This fear led to the explosive expansion of man - this fear developed fire, agriculture, medicine. From this fear, civilization was born. The mad scramble to drive away the darkness had urged mankind ever forward.

And yet, it is also this same fear that kept the darkness alive.

The fear that gave birth to civilization had also borne with it . . .

Murder . . .

Genocide . . .

Evil

And with the birth of evil, the abominations that resided alongside us laughed and swelled in numbers and strength. They fed upon evil, and grew into true, living horrors. And with evil as its sword and fear as its shield, horror encroached upon mankind. The corruption eroded at the roots of a budding civilization, threatening to kill humanity before it even existed. Man was nearly driven back into the darkness, were it not for one thing:

Sacrifice

Just as fear had borne evil, evil had birthed sacrifice and courage. With the tools given to them by the enemy itself, mankind pushed back. The idea that death meant nothing, so long as those around them could live and love as they wished, resonated throughout the earth, and the horrors were driven back into the dark, and faded into legend, to be forgotten.

Still, humanity would not easily forget that which nearly eradicated them. Though society as a whole has forgotten what it meant to fear the darkness, there are those that still carry the burden of those memories, and the responsibility that comes with it; the responsibility to fight with your life on the line, knowing that they are the only one's that can. They stand as stalwart sentinels against the night.

The "Kispu Sinnis Wardatu"

The Magical Girl.

As advertised, this is a totally fun and child friendly magical girl RP!

. . .

I'm sorry, I couldn't help it.

In any case, this is, indeed what is called a magical girl RP, in the sense that you are going to play out the lives of young to prepubescent girls that have, through a series of fantastic circumstances, obtained powers beyond normal understanding, which are used to combat the forces of 'evil'; similarities with the conventional magical girl fare end there, however, as this is more than just young girls with powers dispensing their brand of colorful justice, with some yuri-goodness on the side, and neither is it a world of grim-darkness that seeks to ruin a magical girls innocence. No, this is RP was born from the thought of magical girlness taken to logical extremes

Take note, that as of now, this OOC is incomplete - it is currently missing the 'Rankings', 'Events', 'Bestiary', and others. This is a deliberate decision! As the RP progresses and more information is revealed, I'll be updating the OP. This is because I'm attempting to simulate players having about the same amount of information as their characters!*

*The moment this paragraph disappears is the moment when the OP is completely updated

Nope and it's called roleplaying for a reason.

@TheHangedMan this seems interesting. I have a character I may be able to re-purpose for this. The fact that we don't get to pick our abilities, but are rather assigned them, could be fun as well.

A couple questions;

1. Does this have any resemblance to magical girl shows at all, in terms of costumes and aesthetics, or is it literally just 'girls with powers'?

2. Will the powers our characters assigned by completely random, or will their personalities and backstory play a part in determining them?

@King Cosmos

1.) Magical girls ala costume change + weapon - so in that vein
2.) Personality and backstory will affect the power you've been given. It's not totally random. I have a set of powers ready and a rubric that I follow so I don't have to make one up all the time.
