That sort of magic eh? Well, suppose I can work with that. Magic tends to be pretty OP whenever people could use it freely anyways, so relying on mortal skills and tactics would be a good change of pace.

Also I didn't think my ambush would've been so effective. I sort of figured there was at least 1000 or so mercenaries, so there's no way Malakaus's puny force of thirty could have killed/driven them all away. Most, sure, but not all of them.

Alright, then I guess I'll work off what Zaphander wrote. There's probs still mercs out there being lead by a knight dude who seems to know what he's doing. Since the orcs don't have the element of surprise anymore, they'll need to be more careful about how they deal with the mercs. I'll see about posting something doable, I'm sure the orcs still are outnumbered right now so Malakaus needs to be very careful not to let his younger lads get ahead of themselves.

Should I edit then? Looks like Lucius still wants to fight them. I could say that most of the soldiers fled and Diclonii is just rallying what troops he has. On his knight's honor he can't just flee from a fight he started and all.

I think it's more meaningful when you know the names of the people who die. Makes it feel like an accomplishment.

Also here's what Commander Diclonni looks like, and here's what Krush looks like. Now you know what they look like, you know who you're fighting.

This is my character for this RP he is the Grandmaster of the Frostbourn stronghold who is allied with Ling Mago. He’s a blade master who is skilled in close quarters combat.

I'm not the GM or a coGM or anything, but I have a sneaking suspicion that taking Mago (Polybius's character) is both OP and kind of being a bellend, as Lucius put it, even if it was just for dialogue and exposition purposes.

I summoned Polybius to give their say, though. Hopefully they see this? haha

@Ladypugi don’t really see how it would be like that my character is just a pawn same as the mercenaries and the dude with the assasin character that’s also an ally of Mago. Only difference between me and him is he just doesn’t have any dialogue with Mago in his post.

Mago isn’t your character dude, certainly too important to just use like a regular NPC. Mago is pretty much the big bad of the RP, and thus the GM’s character.

There is a way this could work and that’s simply changing Mago to someone else, like an important lord or advisor to Mago. I’m sure the usurper King has allies within his court to have taken over the kingdom with such relative ease.

Though I should also mention that unless your character’s action is taking place ahead of time in the current IC, the orc’s Attack didn’t happen “yesterday evening”, but literally an hour ago. I got no idea how far the besieged city is to the capital, but I imagine it’s further than an hour flight by messager crow.

I didn't even mention your character, for starters. I said that taking Mago (Polybius's character) is OP and being a bellend. OP because Mago is the Big Bad, and being a bellend because you're Godmodding.

Yes, this is a jump-in RP in free, but you more than likely didn't talk to Poly about using their character cause they've been offline since yesterday. Being allied to Mago is fine - Zaphander's commander character and ABaldElf's assassin charcter are allied to him, but you writing Mago's dialouge is Godmodding.

Plus everything Lucius said, yeah.

I don’t think Malakaus is particularly allied to Mago, in fact he’s quite against him since he’s attacking Mago’s mercenary forces. Though I do got in mind some bad dudes who are allies to the usurper, but they aren’t going to be here yet.
