The group of five, Jack, Alec, and the three gaurds all go back towards the castle. One farther away from the vampires, Jack says "We take a different way back to make sure we aren't followed."

Jack doesn't notice but continues walking. "I can tell. On three we jump into the trees. One." He pauses looking back. "Two." Another pause. "Three." And he leaps into the trees on the path they are taking.

Elias sighs, rolling his eyes at his sovereign's dramatics. He grins and follows him, guiding the newly-released prisoner in case they're unsteady.

Faustine jumps up, parchment in hand, with eyebrows comically high as she reads the paper fervently. Realizing how she looks, she shakes her head to set her brow into a normal position. She turns around to see that the librarian was watching her with some level of concern, and sticks her tongue out at him. She picks up her writing materials and the letter, leaving all the books and discarded drafts at the table. The librarian throws up his hands in exasperation.
"Please leave those!" She calls over her shoulder as she sets off at a fast pace to her sister's room. She knocks at her twin's door.

Faustine ushers her sister into her room and closes the door behind her. She’s radiating excitement, so she takes a deep breath to settle herself. She carefully unfolds the clean parchment and passes it to Angel. “Regarding the treaty? I think I’ve got something. A meeting. Either here or in a neutral territory, and we can work out the terms of a stalemate with both rulers.”
She clears her throat. “I think they’d understand us wanting to meet here? I mean, they’re enhanced creatures. Though our recent technological and defensive advancements may be effective deterrents. Hmm.” She cuts herself off. “I’m sorry, Angel. Ranting again. We need to set a meeting up. It’s important that we initiate contact if we are to be seen as equals, rather than war trophies.”
The letter reflects her words, clearly and assertively requesting an in-person conclave with all three kingdoms. It requests that the parties bring reasonably minimal defensive equipment and a limited ensemble.

Angel gasped when her sister ushered her into another room like that. She noted how her sister was acting. She blinked when the other princess unfolded a piece of paper and passed it to her. She didn't know what to think at first. Angel barely managed a nod at what her sister first said about the treaty. Angel sighed when the other princess ranted and such and she was barely able to listen to her as she spoke. She just managed a second nod, but to that last part about a meeting.
"...very well."
