Winter’s heart begins to pound, and she sighs. “Well then I guess I’ll have to teach you,” she says, quickly grabbing him by the neck and kissing him. Her face aflame, she answers his earlier question. “You can go barefoot if you want but in some places they won’t serve you unless you have shoes on.” The words tumble over each other on their way out her mouth. She grabs the moccasins and the sandals, and pays for the dress and the shoes, her face still burning.
