"If you don't have an injury or two, you haven't truly lived!"

Jax/Jackson || 14 || Male

Appearance Details
  • 5'4"
  • 120lbs
  • Chestnut-colored hair || Spiky and usually a mess
  • Amber-colored eyes
  • A typical Jackson Drake outfit usually contains the following:
    • A hooded sweatshirt of some sort.
      • Sometimes with a single-colored t-shirt over it.
    • Blue jeans/pants or shorts
    • A camouflage headband that keeps his hair out of his face (a pet peeve of his)
    • Vans sneakers. Always.

Belongings
  • Skateboard
  • Backpack with some snacks and a few cans of dew
  • Handheld camcorder to record him doing sick tricks on his board

Character Summary and Crest
Jackson Torvald Drake (yes that's his full name) has always been one to put one foot in front of the other, always one to not shy away from taking on things that would otherwise be deemed dangerous. And maybe that's why he embodies courage, because not showing any fear to new experiences has always been a part of who he is, as well as his upbringing.

Originally from Ridgewood, Utah, Jackson grew up in a fairly normal household. His father, John, is a mechanic and his mother Riley a waitress at the local diner. Understandably so, he never knew what it was like to come from a broken home. He grew up very close to his parents and they often were very supportive of his aspirations to become a professional skater. His father even bought him his first skateboard, to which he started at a very young age. It became his main focus and in his mind, that meant taking risks with tricks, setting up shots with his camcorder, and filming himself skating through places he might get into trouble for.

If Torvald wasn't his middle name, then having no fear certainly would be.

And that's just always been the kind of boy Jackson was. He never showed any fear because he didn't know what it was and still doesn't. He doesn't care what people think because he's never been genuinely hurt or heartbroken.

Digimon Partner

At his core, Gotsumon is a mischievous, cheerful-ish rock mon. He is often the first one to want to investigate a dangerous location and will more than likely do all that he can to get others to come with him. Much like his partner, though he means well, Gotsumon makes problems worse or causes them more frequently than he does in the effort to solve them. And like Jackson, Gotsumon is quick to anger and will always use his head in the literal sense. This, apparently, makes him the perfect Digimon partner for Jackson Drake.

"Think fast!"

Ryana Beckett || 14 || Female

Appearance Details
  • 5'7"

Belongings
  • Tablet
  • Messenger's Bag

Character Summary and Crest
Ryana isn’t the first person one would expect to be the Digidestined who represents knowledge. The ginger-haired girl is taller than every other girl in her class and a bit of a loudmouth idiot tomboy by all appearances. She’s talented at sports and her friends often find her high energy approach to everything to be rather annoying. However, appearances are deceiving.

Ryana’s parents are divorced and for the last two years she’s bounced between households—her dad’s apartment on weekends and her mother’s trailer on weekdays. Double Birthdays. Double Christmas. She’s not too broken up about her parent’s split, though given she was twelve when it happened it definitely affected her. Being a talented athlete is something she’s always took pride in but sometimes she hates it. Her peers and teachers think she’s stupid and all legs and muscle. It wasn’t her fault she grew four inches over winter break. She was still smart. In fact, her love of knowing things has been something that has been part of her since she was a curious little girl. She had to know how things worked. How old things were. Even insignificant things like the history of peanut butter. Before she became a sports prodigy she was a motormouth with a factoid for everything she could imagine. She reads encyclopedias as often as she watches professional sports games.

Her studious and pedantic nature aside, Ryana’s personality can be fairly well laid out. She has a good social life. She’s becoming a talented prospect in high school sports, though she feels like her sudden growth spurt has changed how a lot of her friends look at her; her male friends are now suddenly intimidated by her and her female friends have grown distant since winter break. She doesn’t think much by it, always trying to think in the positive. Her grandfather had always told her that being a “negative nancy” was only going to lead to failure. If she wanted to succeed she needed to be positive and use her energy in good, productive ways. So that’s how she’s lived her life. Her friends will come around and divorce isn’t going to mean her parents won’t be proud of her. She refuses to let people sink into their misery, even if they find her annoying.

When her father brought her along to the summer camp that he’s been working at as a way to getting to spend more time with her she was happy to come along, though it’s not going to work out quite like he thought it would. Will Ryana make the most of the experience?

"You're not very smart, huh?"

Cheryl Blackwell-Carter || 14 || Female

Appearance Details
  • 5'2"
  • Green Hair

Belongings
  • Backpack
  • Various Supplies including a flashlight, lighter, etc.

Character Summary and Crest
While it is no surprise that the Digidestined who represents reliability would be reliable, Cheryl is definitely more complicated than that. An outspoken girl with a talent for being overly prepared due to her innate fears and insecurities, the green-haired girl has more or less been a emotional mess for as long as she can remember. Up until she was twelve years old there had been no stability or security in her life; her father was in the military and her life was constantly moving.

While other girls made longstanding friendships, she made short-lived acquaintanceships. For the most part what this would do to Cheryl was make her fear not only the unknown but also to doubt her life could ever be secure and normal. Due to this lack of normal, healthy relationships with other children she found herself not understanding the subtle finesse of conversation. Where other children know how to read social cues and visible physical tics, Cheryl can't. As a result Cheryl often takes the “be honest and never lie” mentality that her mother raised her with and takes it to its most “logical” conclusion and speaks her mind with absolute no finesse or filter. If someone is acting stupid she will tell them they are acting stupid, she isn't afraid of speaking her mind no matter how inappropriate it may be, and generally isn't very nice despite not meaning anything by it. Cheryl is never actively trying to antagonize someone, it just happens due to her social skills [or lack thereof].

That aside, Cheryl is dependable, prepared, and organized. She was in the Girl Scout's of America for a short time and has obsessively looked to her father as a benchmark. She's absolutely afraid of getting sick, being seen as “weak”, and generally not meeting the ridiculous standards she's set for herself. In her spare time all she does is read and watch things related to survival, disease, and cooking. After all, if she cannot rely or trust anyone else in the future, what is exactly going to happen to her? Such a question is one she asks herself frequently despite her life finally seeming to become secure with the constant moving from state-to-state being a thing of the past. But her parents have said similar things in the past and life has reminded them that they can't make such promises. It's not that Cheryl thinks her parents are liars, she just doesn't believe things will turn out like they think. But such paranoia and pessimism is probably a bigger flaw for her than even her extreme lack of social skills.

The idea of being in the mountains with a bunch of kids she doesn't care about is stressful, for sure, but perhaps she can find something good about the experience?

Digimon Partner

Betamon is innately curious, optimistic, and honest. When there's a challenge in front of her, Betamon is the first one to formulate a plan if a more impulsive digimon hasn't already jumped into the fray in the first place. However, Betamon is not cowardly by any stretch of the word, even if unprompted courage frustrates them in tense situations. Betamon's flaws are known to them and they are always second-guessing themselves, which in situations where initiative is more important than planning is quite dangerous and problematic. But perhaps it is something of a double-edged sword, knowing one's flaws speaks to a potent wisdom even if they don't have the strength to discard them at important times.

Ultimately, what Betamon values the most above all else is her friends; even if she cannot fully understand or trust their decisions from time-to-time. The bond between them, their fellow digimon, and their partner is very strong and they hold a strong sense of self.

"It's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance."

Wesley || 14 || Male

Appearance Details
  • 5'3"/ 105lbs
  • Pale skin but not unhealthily so
  • Skinny, untoned body
  • Black hair and greyish-blue eyes
  • Wesley's has a somewhat relaxed take on formal wear for his every day outfit, though usually it contains a few of the following:
    • A buttoned-up T-shirt with a plain white or black shirt underneath
    • Slacks
    • Dress shoes for events and sneakers for everything else

Belongings
  • A black backpack that contains his notebook and a few pens and pencils
  • His camera that is always on his person due to his love for taking photos and having a passion for photography.

Character Summary and Crest
It's ironic that Wesley Alexander Cross becomes the digidestined to represent friendship when making friends is incredibly difficult for him. Despite this, there was one person who knew him the most.

Growing up in upper class London in a family that had wealth but also prestige, it was hard for Wesley to feel like he was recognized, but there was nobody who made him feel valid in a family where only the oldest mattered and who also saw him as someone who could do great things. This person was his older brother of three years, Sylvester. Sure, he had other siblings but they were younger. Sylvester was the one who he looked up to most. To his parents, Sylvester was the apple of their eye, the one who Simon and Yvonne could place all of their hopes and dreams on. Sylvester always encouraged Wesley to follow his passions, which always centered around photography. First with polaroids, which his brother gave him for his ninth birthday, and eventually giving him his first "professional" camera that the pros use.

Sylvester was his best friend and his hero.

So when Sylvester was taken from them suddenly, by an illness of unknown origin just three days shy of Wesley's eleventh birthday. It rocked the Cross family to its core, felt not only by his parents but his younger brother and sister, Benjamin and Cassandra. The biggest change of all, however, was not the emptiness that his passing left in their home, but Wesley becoming the focus of his parents expectations. Perhaps it was their way of coping with Sylvester's death, but it didn't change anything. Simon tossed him straight into the pit of more work than fun and Wesley's confidence was practically eliminated. He became something of an empty shell who didn't speak unless spoken to and became a well-mannered, almost timid boy, doing what his parents told him to (mainly his father). His mother gave him some leeway.

Thus why he was at summer camp. His mother persuaded his father to allow him to experience some fun, claiming balance was good for him or something. The only way he'd allow it, however, was if they temporarily relocated to Salt Lake City, which was roughly an hour away.

So, Wesley has that cloud looming over him.

Digimon Partner

At his Digicore, Hawkmon represents everything that Wesley could be: confident, able to speak up without being addressed, and sure of himself. But they also share a certain genuine compassion for those close to them. Hawkmon is an assuring bird-type Digimon who always makes calculated decisions based on what's best in the given situation. That being said, he is also fiercely protective over those closest to him and if they are in danger, regardless of the size of said danger, he will do everything in his power to defend them from it - which sometimes can lead to a sliver of impulses taking over.

"All I’ve need to know in life, I’ve learned from school, my parents and Disney."

Sierra/Cici (rarely) || 14 || Female

Appearance Details
  • 5‘2"
  • 100lbs
  • Long blonde hair, usually worn straight down, aside from some strands from her bangs which are tied back.
  • Deep blue eyes
  • Sierra can usually be found wearing the following:
    • A rotation of long-sleeved sweaters of various colors.
      • She wears a clear/purple amethyst pendant over her sweater. It is her birthstone.
    • Black leggings, with fleece linings from September to April.
    • The blue bow that ties her hair back. She always has it in. She doesn't like how her hair looks without it.
    • Silver flats or sneakers. Depends on what she's doing.

Belongings
  • Satchel containing her notebook, a few pencils and some markers
  • Her iPod loaded with an assortment of songs from Disney movies and from the TV stars' solo careers.
  • Honeypie snacks of course! Although she prefers the lighter options like the Sweet Mix and the Strawberry-Honey Cake.

Character Summary and Crest
Sierra Young has always believed in the good in the people of the town. She's believed that there was a force that brought people together to sing or dance or do whatever it takes to lift spirits. She's believed that love conquers all. She's just never found her own person to be that force in her life.

The Youngs are very well known in Ridgewood. Sierra's father Steve is a second-generation owner of Honeypie Bakeries, which is the largest employer in town and supplies the entire state with baked desserts found in all grocery stores. Her mother Christine is a second-grade teacher at the local elementary, and also known for her hand in creating a couple of Honeypie's best sellers. The company sponsored a lot of charity events and made sure that Sierra had the eye of everyone as she made her way through the local school system.

However, that has left her very lonely. She's seen as the crown princess of Ridgewood and as such, it's been tough for her to find friends that actually want to be with her for her, and not just because they want free Honeypie samples or to lounge in the spacious McMansion on the outskirts of town. It's left her feeling hollow, like she's not really a person and more of a trophy or a ride.

Sierra just wants to find someone who she can have an actual connection with. Someone who can share with her the same passion she has for the things she enjoys: writing, sketching and maybe some media work, since she's got some ideas for Disney. Someone who will make her feel like Sierra and not a Young. Her parents think a mountain camp is the answer for the depressive thoughts she's expressed lately. Only time will tell.

Digimon Partner

While her partner is wondering how to get that Disney feeling from something other than Disney, Lunamon already has it. Lunamon is a bubbly Pokemon, willing to infuse whatever she can with her positive attitude. Some might say she is too positive, but in the face of things, that's what Luna knows to do. However, even she has her foes to slay. She is a clean freak and does not care for dirt on her or anyone else. She will use her ears and her bubble power to wipe things down. She's like a fairy godmother, but much smaller and... rabbity-er...

"People don’t like the truth when it hits them in the face. Literally."

Lexi/Lex || 15 || Female

Appearance Details
  • 5'7"
  • 110lbs
  • Dishwater blonde hair, usually worn straight with the bangs hanging in front
  • Deep brown eyes
  • Lexi usually is seen around town wearing the following:
    • A v-cut t-shirt of her choice from the trips to thrift shops all over the world, usually a graphic tee, sometimes with the sleeves rolled up. Can’t hit with long sleeves.
    • Jeans with slashes in the front, always on the knees, but sometimes in other spots
    • Metal rings on each of her outside two fingers. Hurts them more than it hurts her.
    • Sneakers with rubber soles. Need that traction.

Belongings
  • A wallet with some IDs she uses for various things...
  • A small crossbody for storing the various things she gets...
  • A pack of cigarettes for when she gets very stressed out

Character Summary and Crest
Alexis Marie Parsons hasn't had a chance to put her roots down yet, but one thing she's learned is that if people don't want to listen, shutting them up works just as well. Maybe her brand of sincerity isn't appreciated by many of her opponents, but it's led to a sense of stability in a world that consistently changing on her. Sometimes that's enough to hold onto. Sometimes it leads to a broken nose and a broken finger.

Lexi was born in Victorville, California, but did not stay long. Her father worked in the army and was consistently moving the family to posts around the states and around the world. From New Orleans to Germany, from Ridgefield, Utah to Okinawa, the Parsons never stayed in one spot too long thanks to Adam's wanderlust. It was too much for April, who bailed during the time in Maryland to move back home to California. Adam retained custody of Alexis due to April's move, and continued to jettison her from place to place.

Not having a lot of time to make friends, and knowing that there would no reason to do so, Lexi didn't bother playing nice with other kids. She spoke the truth, and if they couldn't handle it, there were one of two ways it usually went. The first way allowed for silent coexistence. The second way landed Lexi in the principal's office. Repeatedly. She started drifting towards seedier tendencies in junior high, and hasn't seen any reason to deviate.

Her father's starting to realize that he may not have been doing enough to keep his only daughter on the straight and narrow. With her mother asking questions about how her daughter is being raised and wondering if she should move to California with her new step-father and half-siblings, he's trying to figure out what he can do about Lexi's extra-combative nature and inability to bond with anyone her own age. This camp may be his only chance to keep his daughter close. Question is if she actually wants it anymore.

Digimon Partner

While Lexi is more in-your-face and brash, her partner Ghostmon is more shy and timid, willing to hang back. She doesn't put herself out there and doesn't have a lot of confidence in her abilities. Maybe that's why she's with Lexi; to be able to gain some self-belief while showing Lexi that fighting isn't always the solution to her problems. If only she wasn't scared of trying to go against her DigiDestined...
