She wasn't at all surprised when the dwarf instantly snatched the tools from her and started going through them. After all, they were fairly important to him, all dwarves as Nadia had pointed out to Runa earlier, were particular with regards to what tools they had and used. So she sort of just waited patiently as he looked through the bag, taking the time to stand there and pet Betty as she waited. This sort of situation was one that she wanted to rush along, but knew that she might annoy the dwarf if she did. Though it didn't seem like Nadia shared that sort of sentiment.

Klara giggled slightly when Nadia bluntly reminded the dwarf of their agreement, and the dwarf eventually giving them a compass of some sort. "Wow, that's an interesting looking thingamabob, compass thing, this will be fun, and helpful based on what you said it should do. For that I have to say thank you, your help is appreciated," she said to him with a smile before looking over at the other two when Nadia handed Runa the compass, and the latter asking about heading off. "Yup, I say let's get going, no time like the present right? Not like we're getting any younger. Let's goooooooo!"

Nadia couldnt help but smirk slightly at Klara and shook her head slightly but smiled towards her friend, once the compass was in Runa's hands the needle spun around erratically before it eventually came to a stop. It ended up pointing in the direction of North East as Nadia moved a bit closer to see where it had been pointing. "Alright then, looks like the thing is working I guess." Nadia said turning to look at Brokkr and gave the weird dwarf a friendly smile and nodded towards him. "Thanks for the tool." Nadia said as Brokkr nodded towards the three of them.

"Yep, now go and stop annoying me." The dwarf said as he went back to starting to work on what he had been working on before, Nadia nodded slightly as she left the shop of sorts looking over at Runa and Klara. "That wasnt to bad actually." Nadia said giving a bit of a smile towards the two of them and gently started to pet Betty. "Lead the way Runa." Nadia told her, since she was given the compass she hoped that it would actually take them to where they needed to go.

In the distance Arnora paused seeing several large tentacles rising from the surface a Kraken came out she turned to look at the crazy ass guy still trying to get into the water and caught up to him grabbing Gerric by the collar and dragged him back towards the beach. "You are going to get yourself fucking killed you dumbass or turned into sea food." Arnora said, she was sure as hell wasnt going to get into the water with two massive sea monsters moving around in there. The draugr had their attention on the three of them now as one charged forward towards Lara swinging its sword at her, but missed.

As Arnora held out her hand sending a wave of ice at one of the draugr that had tried to attack Lara turning it into ice, she looked towards the cave they needed to get to shelter as soon as possible again. Elizabeth wasnt in good shape right now either as Arnora made her way over towards it looking at the two of them. "Get back into the cave and I can create a barricade." Arnora told the two of them.

A hand caught Gerric’s collar and only chance saw him delay before impaling the assailant with a dagger, a delay that let him see the very living features of Arnora. Surprise took the edge off his wild reckless rage but not before a torrent of water swept a draugr up into the air and removed its undead limbs one by one.

Satisfied, he followed one of his least favourite people back to shore and into the cave. In there he hoped he would find some of those that came with him, but to his disappointment he did not.
Instead there were others that he was not familiar with. All had that hint of a warriors soul but one seemed as if that soul was ready to disembark from its body.
He was speechless as he stood shivering before them with blue lips and ice in his beard.

Lara looked over at Arnora as she dragged the figure back towards them. "Duck!" She took aim and tossed her sprear at the drauger that was pursuing them, and she made a gesture of victory as it hit it and took it out. She knew with time her spear would come back to her, it always did. So she turned to Arnora and helped her by tacking Gerric from her.

"I'll check him over, you make that barricade. Stupid idiot... why the hell did you go into the water?" She looked at Gerrick and looked him over. She could tell that hypothermia was probably starting to set in from the color of his lips. She ripped more of her clothing apart to patch him up and then sighed a bit. What they needed was a fire, but that was ill advised at the moment. She swore under her breath in Danish as she tugged a blanket out of her backpack and wrapped it tight around him. "Walk around if you can, warm up your joints."

Runa glanced at Klara in confusion, mouthing the word thingmabob. She didn't know the meaning of that. By context, she guessed that it just meant thing, but English could be incredibly confusing at times and she wouldn't be surprised if it meant something else entirely. She made a mental note to ask later, preferably when Klara was a little less hyper. She was right too - they were on a time limit and needed to focus on accomplishing a million impossible things in order to keep everyone in the universe from dying horribly. She nodded at Nadia when she told her to lead the way and she looked down at the compass, seeing that it was pointing towards the northeast.

She wasn't really sure what to say, so she just started walking in that direction. She didn't really know what she was looking for, nothing seemed to happen, and she had no idea how long they'd need to walk to get to their destination. She was filled with anxiety over the entire thing, and she didn't want to turn around and ask the dwarf for more detailed instructions on how to use the compass. She'd just have to trust that they were going the right way.

Gerric Roar Halfden

Location: Niflheim
Skills:Water manipulation

Unsure where to begin or how to answer, for what seemed like a long moment Gerric just stood and stared blankly at Lara. A faint hit of confusion stuck to that frozen face of his. Now that he was unmoving the shivers where undeniable. He wasn’t sure if her first question was a real one or if simply the frost had already started to settle on his brain. The thought that Arnora was behind him, someone he hadn’t seen in many many years, pulled at his focus and caused a whirlwind of emotions to plague him.

“Wh, What!?” Gerric finally responded to the blonde woman incredulously as he denied her advances to aid his injury with a waving hand.
Sceptically he found words enough to answer that which he believed too obvious to need explanation. His words came drawn out and slightly slurred, slipping between chattering teeth and through tired numb lips.
”I was fighting. was his first and complete answer, speaking as though those three simple words covered everything. He continued on to the next, a pitying look in his eyes.

”Yer never had the cold in your bones before have you?” he asked without really asking.
”Were I not a son of Aegir, and fool enough to follow your advice, the cold would put me to a sleep I’d never wake from. No amount of walking could distance me from that fate, especially here. I am of the sea and lands of snow and still I have never known a chill like that of Niflheim.”
Then he pauses before adding in with a coy smile.
”Besides, everyone knows huddling naked is the best way to warm a body.”

Proving he had no intent to get naked, he threw his arms out wide and closed his eyes in concentration. Before his feet a small pool of water would appear as he tried to drag all the moisture out of his clothes, essentially drying the freezing cold fabrics with his father-given magic.

Despite his best efforts it was all too late for him. The ice of Niflheim had sunken deep into his bones. His body temperature had dropped drastically, and here, in this cold dark cave, being watched over by some of the fiercest and most merciless of creatures, Gerric would not find aid. Had he the strength he’d spend the last of it to stab Anora through the back. But he didn’t.
His limbs were weak, his head heavy and his mind sluggish. Darkness encroached upon his vision, his use of magic draining his life as quick as the cold he sought to remove.

It was not an honourable death, nor a brave or mighty one. He’d rather have gone out to the blade of a drugar, fang of the world serpent or tentacle of the kraken. But just like his life, his death did not go how he planned. This time there would be no valkerie, this time the darkness would be final.

With no words of warning, just a battering of his eyelids, Gerric slumped against the rocky wall and slid down to the hard unforgiving floor, falling into his last and final sleep.

"Thank you again for your aid, now let's be off! We've got an adventure to go on!" she said instantly to the others in the area with a bit of a giggle before waving slightly at the dwarf and following after Nadia and Runa. Sure, they more or less were trying to stop the end of the universe or something like that, but that didn't stop this from being an adventure and adventures were always fun! Even if they meant that you could die for real, it didn't stop her from enjoying them, she truly loved the rush of adrenaline that typically went with them, and the fighting, can't forget how much fun she has with the fighting she gets to do.

Klara figured that the three of them probably looked a little strange to anyone looking at them, after all, they were more or less just following a little compass around and not even sure where exactly it would lead them. "Uh, is the compass supposed to start glowing like that?" she couldn't help but ask, glancing at the compass as it started to glow somewhat now for no real reason that she could see. Maybe they had reached their destination or something like that? She seriously doubted that, but she could hope right?

Nadia looked at the compass as it started to glow brighter, and brighter before it suddenly left Runa's hands and it started to float right in front of the three of them. "I dont think its suppose to do that.." Nadia said as she was reaching for her weapon just in case something did pop out and attack them. She looked at Runa and Klara for a moment wondering what it was actually doing she still had no clue at all really until there was a bright flash of light just as a portal opened up right in front of the three of them.

"Okay thats actually pretty cool." Nadia said as she couldnt help but smile slightly, she just hoped that it was a place that they were needed to go to. As Nadia walked through the portal, she didnt recognize it all really but it was really cold as Nadia took a few cautious steps further inside. Runa would actually recognize the place was from her dreams when she had died, before coming to Valhalla the area would give Nadia some creepy evil vibes.

Arnora looked at Elizabeth who seemed to be slowly coming to, she was glad that she was, she turned to stare at Gerric who had pulled out his flask. The guy always gave her some weird vibes Arnora had no idea why the guy hated her, as Gerric took a drink from it Arnora got the scent of rotten eggs coming from it. She also got a glimpse of some kind of weird colored liquid coming out of it Lara would catch a glimpse of Loki giving her a evil smile and wave before disappearing from her view.

Arnora knelt down next to Elizabeth when she noticed something off with Gerric as he started to grab his throat and started to cough, and what looked to be a mix of blood and detergent as well as the fowl smelling acid. Her eyes going wide as Gerric suddenly fell down to the ground and started to vomit his insides now as well.

He also had a sudden release of bowel movement as well and started to literally shit and pissed himself as the guy slowly and painfully was dying in front of the three of them. Arnora was speechless as to how that even happened in the first place as well to. Arnora noticed the drauger were coming and she quickly thought as he grabbed Gerric as he slowly vomited some more blood and tossed his body outside. Using her powers Arnora quickly made a large ice wall sealing the three of them, as the undead had their feast.

Lara was weirded out by Gerric, especially at his words. She frowned for a moment as he said that and shuddered. Was he implying he wanted to get naked with her? Gods no. He disgusted her. However as he pulled out his flask, she saw someone behind him she had not expected to see. She gasped as she realized that it was the trickster god himself, up to some kind of trick and she was to speak but Gerric took a long swig and then the god vanished.

Lara stepped back and closer to Elizabeth and Arnora at that point as she ice wall was summoned up to keep the now dead disgusting man apart from them. She dare not speak still, as the draugr were right there on the other side of the wall. They still needed to figure out a way to escape, and it seemed that it might be up to just Arnora and herself. Elizabeth was still between life and death and there was no clear side which side she would land on.

"Well it kind of looks cool to me, wonder what is going on with it if it isn't supposed to do that sort of thing," she commented, just watching the compass sort of just dancing around and glowing as it left Runa's hand suddenly. Klara wasn't sure what was going on with it exactly, all she knew was that most normal compasses didn't glow and fly out of someone's hand. That was interesting to her, but those thoughts weren't really important at the moment, since now she was really watching the compass, curious more then anything.

Of course, then the compass decided to open up a portal of sorts, that was cool. "I mean, think that is what it was supposed to do based on what the dwarf said to us. So yay for the thing actually working!" she said happily with a smile, itching her cat behind the ears. "Let's gooooooooooo! This'll be a great adventure," she added, before following Nadia through the portal and she glanced around the area that they were in. It wasn't any place that she recognized, but she was keeping an eye out, trying to see what it was that was around them.

Nadia looked around the area, it was really cold and dreary looking to her as she thought about it as she took a few steps forward, Nadia would turn around and quickly grab Runa and pulled her through the portal as well. She wasnt sure how long the portal would stay open for them, and she certainly didnt want to have Runa fall behind in a world that she barely didnt even know. "Didnt want you to get separated or anything like that." Nadia told Runa and gave her a slight smile as she looked around the area was really cold to her as she rubbed her arms slightly. The whole area looked like it was dead or something like that.

She took a moment and noticed a few bridges in the distance, she took a moment and squinted to see what was there, and noticed that they were the dead. Nadia started to shake slightly, she had an unnatural fear of the undead, since she was killed by a group of Draugr before she died trying to save her cousin. "Is it a bad time to mention that i'm a bit terrified of the undead?" Nadia asked looking over at Klara and Runa.

Arnora Skadidottir

Astrid had gotten separated from Gerric and his group of Einherjar, her death sense was tingling though the death she would sense wasnt an honorable death at all. And it would lead her over towards the beach nearby, and she would see a group of draugr having their feast on a very much dead Gerric. She would see what looked to be some kind of cleaner or acid coming from his mouth, she wouldnt really know what it was though the draugr wouldnt even see her they were to busy enjoying their yummy feast (of a man child).

Arnora sighed slightly the ice wall that she had made looked like it was holding right now, and she didnt really hear anything from the other end either aside from the draugr having their feast right outside. She turned to look over at Lara and made her way over towards her gently resting a hand on her shoulder. "Are you okay Lara?" Arnora asked looking at her, she then paused as she could hear a groan coming from Elizabeth as she seemed to start to come to now as well to.

Runa stopped dead in her tracks when the compass started to glow brightly and then leap from her hands. She squinted, trying to shield her eyes from the blinding light. She raised her hand slightly, looking away as the light intensified into a flash, and suddenly a portal was revealed in front of them. It boggled the mind, seeing a portal - although she supposed they had gone through one of sorts earlier when they left Earth and went to the land of the dwarves. The compass was clearly working. Runa didn't need a lot of experience to know that the portal was exactly where they had needed to go - it was the hellish land of her nightmare, or whatever the term was for what she had experienced right after death.

It was a good thing that Nadia pulled her through the portal, as Runa felt like she had been drowning in despair and shock. It was real then. Whatever small part of her that had been denying all of this was happening had to concede now. "This is where I went, when I died," she explained softly to Nadia and Klara. Her eyes widened a little bit as Nadia admitted she was afraid of the undead. Runa hadn't thought that Klara and Nadia were afraid of anything. They were fearless - perfect, even. "...There'll be a gatekeeper, he won't let us pass."

Astrid frowned as she had followed her death sense and was now witnessing the dragur eat the last of the group she had been tasked with escorting. She wasn't sure why Odin had tasked her with this group, but now here she was, stranded in Niflheim, cold and very much so one of the few living things around. What was she going to do now?

It was then her eye caught the ice wall on the other side of the dragur. It didn't seem... natural. It seemed like it was newly made, and if she was believing her death sense, there were others on the other side of the wall, other Einherjar that had already died and were on their own missions. She looked at the group of dragur and took the risk of them being distracted and dashed over to the wall and gently tapped upon it.

Lara looked over at Arnora and tried to offer a small smile, a small comfort, but it was hard, as it was only getting colder and when she heard the groan she got up and moved to check on Elizabeth again. "I'll be fine, and it seems that Elizabeth is finally coming around... maybe she can give us some aid." She looked at Arnora and this time she really could offer her a real smile until...

She heard the tapping. It didn't seem like it was erratic, and she was sure if it was a dragur they would be banging, not tapping on the wall. "That's... odd. Do you think that someone is on the other side or do you think it is a trap?" She pulled out her spear, ready just in case anything was to happen. However a voice spoke softly on the other side, in old Norse.

"Hello? Can I get some assistance?"

"What did the gatekeeper guy say then?" Nadia asked looking over at Runa for a moment wondering how she even gotten to Helheim in the first place. She looked over at the undead and shuddered slightly, she really, really didnt want to be here at all but they had a task that they needed to do and prevent Ragnarok from happening. "Lets get going the sooner we get out of here the better." Nadia said as she started to walk further down as they approached a bridge she noticed a rather large gate in the distance.

Nadia suddenly froze as she came face to face with an undead looking soul, she started to breathe heavily and backed up slightly bumping into Runa slightly. She reached for her sword, trying her best to stay as calm as possible, Runa would see the massive gatekeeper standing at the entrance to the gate. Slamming it's massive weapon on an occasional soul that he didnt deem worthy of entering Helheim causing the ground to shake violently.

Elizabeth was still asleep but her breathing had stabilized which would be a good sign to her as Arnora turned to look at Lara and nodded towards her. She had to make a decision and if they didnt do anything then the Draugr would end up overrunning them and they would most likely be dead. She looked around the cave for a moment noticing that the cave led much deeper, and thought about going deeper than dealing with a herd of the undead. "When Elizabeth wakes we should explore the cave, maybe it will be a shortcut to the Ship of the Dead?" Arnora suggested, when she heard some tapping.

"The undead are really dumb and would be banging usually." Arnora said when she heard a woman's voice on the other end, and instantly waved her hand slightly creating a small opening for Astrid to come through. "You are a Valkyrie right?" Arnora asked looking at her and recognized the cloak that she had on her. "Wouldnt mind the help either."

"The undead aren't that bad. Not too sure what's so bad about them or whatever, also if you want to go off of technicalities, wouldn't we be considered undead? I mean we have died, and undead would technically be anything that gets brought back from the dead or something like that right?" she said instantly to Nadia with a bit of a shrug. Everyone was afraid of something, she just thought that the undead was just a bit of a weird fear to have. At least in her mind, she wasn't going to tease Nadia too much about it, but by all means in her mind they technically would count as the undead.

"A Gatekeeper? Sounds a bit ominous," Klara commented towards Runa, as she glanced over at Nadia who seemed to be somewhat freaking out over a undead soul looking thing. "...Wait if you don't like the undead, you do realize if I remember correctly we were told we were dealing with Hel, which kind of just says right there we're probably going to be dealing with the dead... Anyway Runa you said something about a gatekeeper, is that the giant looking guy or whatever over there?" she asked, pointing towards the guy who had a giant weapon looking thing that was causing the ground to shake.

Runa hesitated for a moment, recalling the exact words that the gatekeeper had said to her. The gatekeeper had spoken English to her, so at least she didn't need to translate the words for Klara and Nadia. Things were often lost in translation and she wasn't particularly good at doing sentence to sentence translations. "'You should not be here daughter of Balder, you shall not find him,'" she said, quoting the gatekeeper word for word. It helped that it had been so short and simple, combined in with the fear and trauma she had been facing and it was really cemented into her brain.

She flinched slightly as Nadia bumped back into her, still not great overall with physical contact, especially when unexpected. Runa then nodded at Klara's question. "Yes... That's the one..." she replied softly. She winced slightly every time the ground shook from the gatekeeper shoving his weapon down. She didn't think it would be possible to sneak on by him. There had to be another way into the place, right? Like... some secret back entrance that the gatekeeper wasn't bothering to guard?

"Thank you kindly... I do appreciate it." Astrid walked in and gently tugged down the hood of her cloak, letting her blond hair fall free. "I was out here on a quest with some other Einherjar, but sadly they have all perished. The last of the group I was with is just outside... and well, it seems that I might have to wait to try to return to Vallhalla and let the Allfather know we have failed..."

Lara looked at the Valkyrie for a moment before looking around at their small group. "Maybe you could join us? We could use another hand, and well..." She looked to Elizabeth for a moment. She was doing better, and they were thankful for that, but there was no guarantee that she would be useful for a while. She had taken quite the blow earlier, and it would take her some time to recover from it, if she ever did.

"Maybe, it might be wise to stick together out here... and goodness knows that it would be shameful to return without helping as much as I can. I am Astrid, a pleasure to meet you and work together with you." Astrid offered a small smile to the group and then she knelt down next to Elizabeth. She was about to look her over when Lara set her hand on Astrid's shoulder.

"Let me look you over first. It looks like you have seen some action." Lara knelt down next to Astrid and started to look her over. The Valkyrie had some injuries it seemed, and it first Lara was struggling to remember even the basics, but after a moment, she soon has Astrid patched up with some supplies from her kit.

"Thank you. So, what is your quest, if I may ask?" Astrid rubbed her shoulder a bit as she looked at the three of them.

Nadia turned to look at Klara for a moment, she wasnt sure if she knew how she had died. "The reason why I have a fear of the undead, is because I died, at the hands of some Walking Dead extras thank you very much." Nadia said sighing slightly as she looked around for a moment, she knew that bridges had supports underneath and above them. So they could potentially try that way maybe as she stared at Klara poking more about the undead some more. "Well if we are undead we look pretty good then without the decaying flesh and nasty breath what what not." Nadia said sarcastically and rolled her eyes slightly.

Nadia walked over to the ledge of the massive bridge seeing what could be a possible way for them to navigate without to much of a problem and hopefully undetected. "Here, should be a way to travel under it." Nadia said as she managed to climb on a small platform below, her feet slipped slightly. She looked down seeing the long fall before them. "Be careful it's really icy." Nadia said as she managed to get a better grip now and started to walk along the support beam.

Elizabeth slowly started to come to as she slowly opened her eyes and looked at the three of them. "What happened?" Elizabeth asked as she slowly sat up and looked over at Lara. "Thanks." She said as Arnora turned to face Astrid for a moment asking what their quest was, as she thought what they should do an extra pair of hands would really help with their quest now. "The Ship of the Dead looks like its getting ready to move, and the draugr seem to be getting it ready to. So we are kind of tasked with keeping it where it is." Arnora said softly as she moved a bit deeper into their little cave.

"We should find a way to make some torches and we can hopefully see if this will take us to the location we need to go." Arnora said to Astrid, Lara and Elizabeth as she slowly stumbled back up to her feet. The undead were right outside and Arnora wasnt to keen on going out into the open again.

"I mean the idea of us being undead or whatever is kind of cool, but that's just my personal opinion. Since as you just said, we are waaaaaaaaay better then any other sort of undead that exists in the universe," yup, Klara was starting to ramble a little bit again, not much else she could really do though, she typically wasn't able to stop rambling once she started. "And what is the Walking Dead? Just referring to zombies or something like that? Or is it yet again another reference that I don't understand since I know not too much about the present day on Earth."

She nodded her head slightly at what Runa said with regards to the gatekeeper and what he had said to her, before her attention was drawn once more to what Nadia was saying, about a possible way they could slip in. Looking down at her and the ledge that she was on, Klara just shrugged, "Looks simple enough," she said as she petted the cat that was still on her shoulders, "Alright Betty, hold on." With those words that were directed towards her cat, Klara climbed down after Nadia and landed on the platform as well, "Come on Runa let's go," she said to her with a slight smile and wave.

Runa understood the reference to the Walking Dead - some people at school would play a game that had been based off of the show. It was never her cup of tea, but it was hard to not know about it. She was more shocked though to hear that Nadia had been killed by zombies. From what she was beginning to understand, every myth and legend existed in some shape or form. She had to wonder if the Norse gods were the only ones out there - or if there could have been others. She decided she'd ask the question later. They had more important things to focus on.

She bit her lip slightly at Nadia's solution to the entrance problem - she wasn't thrilled about the prospect of another climb, although at least there wouldn't be a giant squirrel shouting abuse at them. She took a breath and started to climb down onto the platform after Nadia carefully, managing to not slip or anything and she thanked her lucky stars for that. She then started to walk on the support beam, going slowly and carefully in order to avoid plummeting off of the thing.
