Yeah. I get you. He can be useful in a pinch but its just for a pinch. If he helped with a broken limb, you'd still need a doctor to set it right. If there's a hole in the ship he can plug it, but it would be wise to get the shipright to double check.

Looks good. The only question I have is how did she go about learning fishman karate? Did other fishmen just offer to teach it to her? Did she stay with some here and there and naturally picked it up?

It's not a big deal as your character is accepted. I'm just curious because a point was made she grew up being cut off from her fishmen heritage. So I figured spending time with fishmen would have been more noteworthy.


Admittedly, I just didnt want the backstory to drag on for too long. I can add in the mentor that taught her the basics though.

Bit confused on the state of things, to be honest.

Have our characters already joined up?

Who's throwing the pirates into the arena, the marines or the Lighthouse Pirates? Are we also all prisoners?

@The Irish TreeNo. Our characters haven't met.
Your characters can be prisoners, members of the crowd, people working under the pirates, someone who accidentally found themselves there.

The marines are transporting prisoners to sell to the pirates in charge of the arena. The owners of said arena will be the ones who'll throw the prisoners in to fight.

@malmshodes Not necessarily. Just kind of missing context. I could do a thing where perhaps Jaden heard a rumor that a haki practitioner was being held at this pirate arena?

It's really up to you, but i think it would be easier if she was a prisoner. You could also say she was security for the pirates until she found out what was going on
or she somehow found herself as a spectator in the crowd

Okay, so I'm thinking to rework Jaden's profile like this:

I think the encounter with the Rokushiki user should happen earlier in Jaden's life than when it did. Perhaps said user was actually a member of The Marines, perhaps even a CP-9 operative, but went rogue to become a pirate. His crew raided Jaden's city, and in trying to protect the librarian, he was taken down by said Rokushiki user's more advanced technique.

As far as the operative knows, Jaden's dead, and the librarian is among those taken as slaves. I might also make the librarian younger, if only so the pirates would find her more useful. So, using this new anonymity to travel the world and search for the librarian and the other people the pirates enslaved. Along the way, he's hoping to find more knowledge of techniques that he could use against the pirates, especially their captain.

Which would bring Jaden to this fighters pit. There's more, but I'll PM it

That could work. I'll have to see the reworked CS before I can approve though.
Though I'm a bit confused, because I thought the user and the librarian were two different people.
