Dean Winchester

Dean scrambled from the floor, groaning a bit with how hard he had fallen down the stairs. He shook himself and looked up the stairs to where Cason had run with his knife, “DAMMIT!”

After yelling, he looked to Mika as she shouted for him to take the shotgun, his hand instinctively coming out to grab it, and open it in front of him. He took the shells from the table, and slipped them into the gun one by one as she ran away from him. It wasn’t the best weapon to have against a hoard of demons, but it would be better than nothing.

He turned the gun toward the back door of the basement, planning to shoot anything that stepped through, but the demons at the top of the stairs caught his attention as they focused on Mika. He saw red pretty instantly, stepping up to the base of the stairs and pointing the shotgun at them just as Mika was flung, “Mika! You good?”, he yelled across the room. Her gunfire told him his answer, and he fired a salt round into one of the demons chest.

Through the back door, another five demons came through, all running for Dean as he fired blasts at them, and eventually emptied the shotgun with a groan. Throwing it to the side, he bent down, pulling a punch knife from his boot and squared up on the demons with the knife between his fingers.

As they rushed him, he stabbed at random points, a couple of them in the eye to slow them down, another in the throat, fighting with every ounce of energy he had left in him to make sure they stayed away from Mika. He wasn’t concerned about the door behind him, as the demons couldn’t cross the threshold of the panic room. But he could protect what was his.

However, even though he fought valiantly, a demon stepped forward with the crowbar Mika had dropped near the stairs, and with one swing to the face, took Dean down. It made a ‘crunch’ as it connected with his ear, causing him to see stars, before everything went black, and he crumpled to the floor. The demons around him laughed, turning their attention toward the panic room.

All of them sneered at Sam through the open door, knowing they couldn’t get in, but knowing he would eventually have to leave the room. Everyone was fair game tonight.

Cason

Esme grunted when she connected with the floor after being thrown through the door. When Cason appeared at her side, she had to admit she was glad to see him at that moment. She ached all over from the beating she received outside. She slightly rolled to her side with a groan to look at him.

“I’m okay.” she told him, forcing herself to sit up as Bobby splashed the demon with holy water. She then looked around for her knife, finally spotting it a couple of feet away from her. She was thankful that it actually made it inside the house. She crawled over to the knife. Once it was in her hand, she forced herself to her feet. Once on her feet, she staggered a bit, but it was clear she could still hold her own.

Cason sighed in relief when Esme answered him, picking up his knife he shoved her up onto her feet and pushed her forward toward the demons she was fighting. He turned and stabbed a demon through the chin, watching it spark out before removing the knife and turning to another.

The demon punched him in the face with a force he wasn’t used to, grabbing his hand as he tried to slash her in the face. She squeezed at his wrist, his bones starting to crack, and ripped the knife from his grip, turning him around to face Esme with the knife pressed against his throat, “STOP! All of you…stop…”

Sarah attempted to come to his rescue, running toward him, but he held a hand out to her, nodding toward Esme, to keep her focused.

It was then that Cason peered over and noticed that Bobby had been taken as well, during the chaos, a large knife pressed to the side of his neck as the demon held him, despite his protesting.
As he glared around the room at demons who were his lessers, winning, he heard steps coming up from the basement and turned his head to see something that made his stomach lurch. A large male demon was carrying Dean Winchester’s body, or what seemed to be his dead body into the room. The demon tossed Dean onto the floor in front of all of them, and stood over him proudly.

“Good. Now…we have one more to gather down stairs, the feisty cutie this one is canoodling with. Once our boss has the tiny one in the vault, we’ll be out of your hair, and everything can go back to sunshine and rainbows…well…maybe not for him.”, she quipped, giving a fake sad look to Dean, whose head was now bleeding a nice puddle on the hardwood from his ear.

Annabeth

Annabeth didn’t want to stay back. She wanted to kill the demons, which she knew she and Sam were both extremely capable of doing. She stepped forward, raising her hand at the demon fighting Dean, before Sam pulled her behind him and Dean went down hard.

“DEAN! We have to help them. Sam…we have to…”, she complained, fighting against his arm a bit. She was cut off however, by an unfamiliar voice and a gust of wind.

“Sam Winchester…you’re just as cute as I thought you would be.”, a tall male angel with black hair and blue eyes, similar to Castiel’s stepped in front of both of them, causing Annabeth to flinch as he interrupted her, “Lucky for you, I’ve been instructed not to harm a hair on your head. Well…maybe one or two.”

“What do you want?”, Annabeth calmly asked, stepping around to Sam’s side. The angel laughed, echoing inside the large room, and pointed straight at her face.

“Demons can’t come in here and I show up in the heat of the battle. Who do you think I am? Castiel? That pathetic, weak, attached excuse for an angel. No…I’m…”

“I didn’t ask who you are. I asked you what you want!”, Annabeth snapped at him, her eyes starting to fade to white. The angel laughed again, stepping forward and looking closer at his eyes, before raising his hands in front of him to feign being scared.

“Are you going to go nuclear in the room with your boy toy? Or do you even know what you’re capable of? We’re going to make you a soldier for Lucifer! You should be grateful! You’re coming with me…one way or another.”

Annabeth sneered at him, before giving up and dropping her shoulders. She knew what he would do, if she didn’t go with him. She knew that he would hurt Sam as badly as he was able, without killing him, and wouldn’t stop from hurting her just as badly. He would probably kill everyone in this house.

“I know…”, she whispered.

“Then say your goodbyes and lets go. I’ll call everything off, and your friends get to live. But right now, Dean Winchester is dying. The others are subdued…or will be, and there’s only one way out. It’s you, or them…”, the angel explained, holding his hand out to her.

She turned to Sam, a sad smile on her face as she stared at him, knowing that he was going to be devastated, but she couldn’t let his brother die. Not to mention this was going to end the same way, only on one hand it would end with them all dead and the other hand would end with her going, and they could survive.

“Sam…”, she whispered, almost flinching at her own voice, “I have to go. I have to. Don’t…please don’t argue.”

She broke off, and reached a hand up to his cheek, playing with his sideburns for a few seconds before standing on her tiptoes and giving him a lingering, deep kiss. She pulled away, pressing her forehead against his briefly, “Close your eyes. Sam…close your eyes.”

Many demons were attempting to swarm into the center of the house. In this place, Benjamin was invisible to the demons, thanks to his putsie bag. As they were shooting their weapon's fire into the room, all shots would miss, piercing through the walls and generally messing up the property quite a bit. They weren't prepared for Benjamin being there to defend the others. He would telekinetically mangle them through crushing their skulls, and breaking necks telekinetically. However, the more demon vessels that Benjamin destroyed through his magical powers, the more they would replace the fallen. Eventually, the house was over flowing with dead, and Benjamin would magically conjure an incinerating stream of fire that would not harm Mister Singer's house at all, despite the demon bodies getting annihilated.

However, the stream of demons came at Benjamin, almost like a line of ants. Getting frustrated with having to kill so many enemies, in just two seconds, Benjamin expanded his forcefield to the size of a large wall, he manipulated his mind energy into a hyper speeding full on slam, hitting these demonic vessels hard enough to render them into fine paste.

He turned his head, noticing that Bobby and Natalia were furiously attempting to defend themselves against mid ranking demons. With several gestures, Benjamin was speaking an incantation with his mouth, lasting several seconds, and conjured a lightning bolt to strike one of the demonic foes from behind.

MIKA

After Mika fired off some rounds as Dean asked her if she was good, "yeah" she simply called back out to him after she got her shots in which gave Dean an opening for his own attack. She got up do to her feet, not wasting time to dust herself off, instead holding her handgun out waiting for the next opening so she could get another round off, but the hand to hand combat with Dean was making it difficult to get a clear shot.

"SAM KEEP HER IN THERE!" She called dout a bit louder so he could hear her, seeing him twitch with the need to get out and help his brother. She gave him the look to let him know she got this when another demon came for her making her fire off a few rounds.

It was useless, she didn't have anything on her that would truly get rid of these sons of bitches and she knew with the onslaught none of them could rattle off some Latin in time. Then it hit her, maybe Sam could start trying getting rid of them with an exorcism whilst the rest of them tried to keep them back.

But before she could give Sam the idea, she saw Dean get smacked round the side of his head with the crowbar she dropped when she got flung and went out cold onto the floor. "Dean!!!!" shhe screamed, seeing red and went charging at the demon responsible, only to get nabbed by one that wasn't at the door sneering at Sam and Annabeth or lifting Dean's limp body up from the ground and carrying him upstairs.

She struggled against the grip, desperate to get free but she couldn't. She couldn't risk losing Dean again, she needed to break free so with a strong thrust she slammed her elbow into the demon, breaking free and going for a kick, only to get smacked in the back of her head knocking her to the ground, her vision hazy and swimming. Next thing she knew, she was being hauled off the ground and carried as she sort of saw an angel appear out of nowhere in front of Sam and Annabeth and there was nothing she could do to help protect them both.

NATALIA

She saw Benjamin using as much magic as he could to try and help her, Cason, Esme and Bobby but it was proving fruitless. Nothing was staving off the asshole as she pulled herself back onto her feet to refocus on those who were focused on her. She grabbed a silver kitchen knife off the counter to go hand to hand combat with the demons when everything seemed to pause as a female came up from the basement carrying her unconscious brother and throwing him onto the ground like he was a dirty rug.

"Dean!" she exclaimed, seeing the blood pool coming from his ear and head, thinking he was dead once again. She just wanted to help Bobby and everyone but she was stunned to her spot knowing they were outnumbered and there was nothing they could do. Hearing the demon describe Mika and hear them say they were here to grab her also, Natalia saw red, narrowing her eyes.

"you ain't taking either of them bitch" she sneered, worn out but was prepared to go one more round if she could.

The demon holding Mika made it upstairs, "we got her, we need out of here, a bloody angel is down there" he told the female demon that had earlier brought up Dean. Natalia gasped seeing even Mika nearly out cold, her eyes glancing over to Bobby knowing he wasn't going to take this well in the slightest. She saw Mika trying to focus on Dean's body, knowing also that she was thinking he was dead.

SAM

As he looked over at Mika, he just knew what she was thinking and he was more than prepared to start exorcising the demons when his brother getting smacked by the crowbar completely threw him off guard.

Seeing his brother get knocked out cold by a crowbar made him flinch and go to make a step forward as Annabeth also screamed her concern for Dean, just as Mika did. He was about to go agree with her when an Angel appeared in front of him and Annabeth and Mika got hit so hard she went limp but he could see she was still awake.

Everything was going so drastically wrong and moving so fast, his own head was spinning trying to think on his feet and come up with some kind of plan on the spot. His mind was blank as the angel kept his attention, demanding that everyone would be safe if Annabeth just went with him.

He wanted to protest but Annabeth turning his face to look at her and pleading with him to just let her go made him go against everything he was ever brought up to believe in doing. He kissed her back and slowly nodded. At her request, he closed his eyes, reluctantly letting go of her so she could just go with this Angel.

Esme Stirling

Cason shoved Esme so fast at the demon, she didn’t have the chance to take in how relieved he was that she was alright. She charged at the demon as she brandished her knife. He grinned, and his eyes turned red. Her eyes narrowed to hide her surprise at his level. She slashed at the demon, catching his arm as he sidestepped her and slammed her into a wall. She groaned as she hit, then pushed herself off for another attack. She swung her blade at the demon, slashing his chest deep. The demon yelled in pain as the wound sizzled from the blade. In his rage, he backhanded her that sent her stumbling to the side.

“You are a feisty one, aren't you?” he grinned. “You have no idea.” she spat. She spun to shove her blade through his chin, but another demon that popped up behind her caught her in mid-attack. The female demon pulled her by the arm and quickly snapped it, causing a scream of pain to leave Esme’s lips and dropped her knife just as they had captured Cason. The female demon pulled Esme’s back to her and wrapped an arm around her throat and a knife to her chest, as Esme held her broken arm with her left hand. The male came up and knelt down to pick up Esme’s knife.. However, when he touched it, it burned him, causing Esme to smirk through her pain.

At her smirk, the male punched her in the stomach, causing Esme to groan and cough. The female demon held her tight around the throat, then leaned her head down to whisper in her ear. “Move and I’ll snap that pretty little neck of yours.” She squeezed Esme’s neck more to emphasize she meant what she said, causing Esme to gasp a bit. She could feel the pride radiating off the demons in the room at their success in capturing them. Her eyes darted to the stairs at the sound of footsteps coming up them, her eyes going wide as she saw Dean’s limp body in the arms of a large male demon, followed by another caring Mika.

“Dean!! Mika!!” she called out to them as they were tossed onto the floor. She could see that Mika was still breathing, but had been knocked in the head pretty good. Dean’s appearance scared her. He looked dead, and she could see the blood pooling from his ear. She scanned the room, seeing they were outnumbered and had been overtaken. Nothing about this had gone to plan, and now it felt like a helpless situation. They had failed to keep the demons from coming and taking over, Dean was out cold and dieing from his head injury, and Sam and Annabeth could only stay in the vault for so long.

Her feelings of hopelessness were now making her aware of all the other emotions in the house. She couldn't stop them from washing over her like a flood. The ache in her chest soon turned into a soft burn and then a fire, followed by a headache. Her breathing became labored as she tried to fight against the emotions overwhelming her, but it was useless, they were too strong this time. Looked at Dean and Mika on the floor not far from her, wincing as a fire erupted within her chest. She tried to hold back her whimper of pain, her body shaking from the pain and effort to stay quiet.

She scanned the room again, taking in all the humans and Cason. Her head soon felt as if it would explode at any moment. Her vision was blurring and everything felt as if it were spinning, her eyes started to roll back in her head. Esme’s head rocked forward, her chin resting on the female demon's arm briefly, then her head tilted back, her eyes rolled into the back of her head. She took in a sharp breath, letting it out as a scream as a blast shot from her targeting the demons and incerating them. Once it was over and was no longer in the demon’s grasp. She fell to her knees, cradling her arm in her lap and slumping forward and breathing heavily.

Cason and Bobby

Cason took a deep breath as he saw Esme finally overrun, gritting his teeth and looking down as her arm was snapped. He growled in frustration. It was over. There was no way to survive this, especially with Alastair showing up any second. The demon holding him wrenched his face up to watch as the the demon holding Esme tight to her body. He struggled briefly, the demon knife searing against his skin, causing it to blink and flicker as his eyes turned black. But it was no use trying to get away. He was no good to Esme, dead.

“Esme…look at me. You’re going to be fine. LOOK AT ME!”, he screamed across the room to her as she began to lose control. He knew the look and could already feel the heat radiating off of her as her eyes rolled back in her head, “Esme, listen to me!”

It was too late. A fire washed over the room, taking every demon in the room with it. The demons outside smoked out, waves of screams still echoing after the blast had calmed. Cason hadn’t even realized that Sarah had tackled him almost instantly, protecting him with her body as the demon holding him turned to ash.

When she stepped back from him, whining at the state he was in, his body felt numb. He attempted to push himself off the ground, but his body wouldn’t cooperate. Lifting his hand from the floor, he took a look at it and gasped. His skin was flaking from the bone in spots, others were badly burned and charred, causing him to groan loudly as Sarah laid her head at his side.

“Esme…hey, are you okay?”, he groaned out, beginning to shake from what would be temporary but intense pain. He could see her, not far from him, cradling her arm and was helpless to do anything about it. He let out another groan, concentrating his energy to healing his wounds.

He then saw a familiar face looming over his, barely paying attention to the Hellhound he had just nudged with his leg. Bobby Singer leaned down, clearly dazed and in shock at what had just happened. He grabbed Cason by one of his badly burned arms, pulling him up high enough to wrap his arm around his neck as Cason screamed out in pain.

“How you survived that blast, I don’t know…but you’ll heal, right?”, Bobby asked as he helped Cason limp over to the couch. He threw him roughly into the cushions as Cason laughed and groaned, “Think about it. It’s only half your body. That’s half the healin’. Get to it. We’re gonna need ya’.”

Bobby stepped away from the couch, running to Dean’s side to feel for his heartbeat. He shook his head, “No. No no no. Don’t do this to me again, boy. Not again!”

He turned Dean’s head over to look at the wound to the side of his head, pressing his fingers against it to find a deep hole from the neck of the crowbar penetrating his skull. As tears forced their way to his eyes, he bowed his head.

“Dammit…”

Annabeth

As soon as Sam’s eyes reluctantly closed, Annabeth let her hand fall from his face slowly, trailing down his neck and onto his chest, before she stepped away completely. With a flutter of wings, she and the angel were gone, with them went the demons outside, and everything in the house went silent, apart from Cason’s screams.

She landed roughly on her feet, being shoved away from the angel and straight into a set of arms. The man she fell onto laughed brightly as he pulled her away from him, holding her arms roughly and turning her side to side to make sure she was safe. It was then that she recognized him from the junk yard.

“Alastair…”, Annabeth whispered as she looked up at him. He smiled even brighter, brushing her hair away from her face, and let go of her. The angel that had brought her to the warehouse smiled brightly as Alastair stepped over to him.

“I killed a Winchester…”, he quipped, and Alastair’s eyes went huge at the same time Annabeth’s did.

“WHAT?! You told me you were going to fix things! I did what you asked!”, Annabeth suddenly screamed, causing the lights above them to blast out of existence, and every window cracked. Alastair became concerned for his safety as he turned to her and placed a finger over her lips, before turning back to the angel.

“Which…one..?” He asked, hoping for all their sakes that it was Dean.

“Dean…Winchester.”

“NO! NO!”, the windows shattered, as if a bomb went off in the building and every demon guarding the doors began to choke as she held her hands in fists at her sides. Alastair smiled, coughing a bit of smoke, before wiping his mouth and clapping his hands together with a laugh.

Back at the house, Dean lay dead on the floor as Bobby mourned him. Bobby had no idea how to tell Sam. He had no idea what was even happening.

At the warehouse, Annabeth picked up a large shard of glass, holding it to her throat with sobs screaming from her throat, “I will kill myself…right now.”

Alastair sighed sadly, “Don’t do that, my sweet girl. Sam’s still okay! See?! We all win today!”

“He’ll come for me, you know. And now…you’ve killed his brother?! You’re all going to die! FIX HIM NOW! Or you can explain to Sam Winchester why you killed us both…”, Annabeth snapped, slicing her skin a bit to show she was serious.

“Okay! Alright calm down. Calm…down…I know you’re upset. I know you love them. So, I’ll make a compromise…”, Alastair held a hand out to her, reaching into his jacket with the other hand. He pulled out a glass bottle full of what looked like blood, and held it out to her.

“I didn’t say I was negotiating. FIX HIM OR I DO IT!”

“Drink this.”, Alastair said with his eyes fixated on her throat that was now dripping blood onto her white t-shirt, “Drink this, and I’ll send him back, right now…to fix your boy. Kill yourself, and I’ll have him fix you, and this freedom you have now. It goes poof, into the sky…you’ll spend the rest of your days in chains until you’re no longer of use to me. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?!”

Alastair’s sudden scream caused Annabeth to flinch heavily as tears streamed down her cheeks, mixing with the blood on the front of her shirt. She snatched the bottle from his hand, dropping the piece of glass with a sigh. She slowly unscrewed the lid of the bottle, and took a long drink of the thick liquid inside.

“Go. Go to them, but go slow. I want to make sure she swallows the whole thing, before I hold up my end of the bargain…”, Alastair muttered to the angel, sending him off.

“What did you do to get an angel working for you?”, Annabeth asked Alastair as she choked down another gulp of the blood.

“There’s an entire faction of angels, in heaven that believe in Lucifer’s cause. Say you know the guy, and they come running.”, Alastair laughed, signaling for her to finish drinking the bottle of blood.

1 hour later

The angel landed in Bobby’s living room, undetected and unseen, other than a slight wind from his wings. He stepped up to Esme, briefly touching her forehead, her arm suddenly repairing itself. He then stepped carefully over to Dean Winchester’s body, weaving in between his pathetic mourners and laying his finger tips against the man’s temples.
Within a few seconds, Dean gasped loudly, his eyes shooting open.

NATALIA, MIKA AND SAM

Nat didn't know what the hell was about to happen but looking at Esme, she knew it wasn't going to be anything good. Then came a blast she hadn't expected in the slightest, making her use her arms and squatting to shield herself, feeling the burn on her arms in the process. Gritting her teeth she held out until it over which was as quickly as it happened, slowly looking up and standing up onto her feet as she watched Bobby pull Cason up onto his feet roughly and throw him onto the couch.

With Mika on the floor by Dean just about still conscious, she knew this whole situation was going to get so much worse if they didn't fathom something out soon. She walked to the entrance of the basement and yelled downstairs, "SAM! GET YOUR ASS UP HERE NOW!" before turning back to the two toxic lovebirds on the floor as she so loved to call them, much to their annoyance. She went to Mika as Bobby went to Dean and pulled Mika up slightly, checking the back of her head and saw a little blood but nowhere near as bad as it was for Dean. "you're alright...you're alright" she sighed.

That moment of relief though didn't last when Sam came stomping upstairs and froze in his place as he saw Bobby in a right state over Dean's lifeless body. "No...no Bobby...h-h-he can't be..." Sam stammered, lifting his hands into his hair, tears rapidly filling his eyes as his breathing hitched to an erratic pace, going over and falling to his knees as Mika came round properly.

Sam grabbed Dean's body by his shirt looking down on his big brother. "Dean no, don't do this. Don't you dare leave us again!" he sobbed which made Mika wake up a lot more quickly, ignoring the seering pain in the back of her head and the dizzy vision she was experiencing. "Dean?" she asked, looking around before laying her eyes on him. Sam and Natalia both looked at her full of sorrow and sympathy, knowing how much this was going to tear the woman apart once again.

Natalia tried to keep Mika in her grip but it was no use, Mika scrambled out of her tight grip and over to Dean where she placed her hands on his head, his blood soaking one of her hands, making her shake for fear of losing him. She began to blame herself for dropping the bloody crowbar, if she hadn't have left it available for the demons to grab ahold of, he wouldn't be dead. This was all her fault. He was dead....because of her.

Mika's shaky hands stroked Dean's face, instantly crying as she felt no pulse from him, her forehead falling onto his. "You said you wouldn't leave me again" she sobbed quietly, her tears falling onto his cheeks. She just got him back for christ's sake and now she was losing him all over again. It was too much to take. "We have to bring him back....WE HAVE TO BRING HIM BACK!" She cried, first quietly, then shouting it as she looked at them all in the room with pleading eyes. She wasn't going to let them just bury him again, or worse...give him a hunter's funeral because he came back once, he could do it again...right?

Natalia silently cried as she saw the woman she actually admired for so many things just break down all over again, holding her hand to her mouth as it all sank in. "We...we don't know if that's possible Mika...maybe we should giv ehim a hunter's funeral this time..." she suggested, hating herself for suggesting it. "NO!" Mika shouted at her. "No one is touching him!" Mika yelled angrily. Sam cried, seeing his family self destruct and break apart once again and he couldn't take it. He couldn't take living on hope that they could bring him back a second time. "M-m-maybe Nat's right..." he mumbled, making Mika snap at the man who she considered like a baby brother. She pulled out her handgun from the back of her pants and aimed it at all of them, "I SAID NO!" She sneered, fully prepared to shoot any one of her family or the group if it meant keeping Dean's body in tact.

ONE HOUR LATER

For that hour she kept any of them that tried to stop her at a stand off. She had utterly lost it through her grief and she internally decided that if Dean couldn't come back, well then she'd just shoot herself so she could still be with him. Yet it didn't need to come to that as suddenly there was a gust of air in the room, a gust that she just assumed was from one of the many broken windows, Esme got healed and the one wish she ever had came true. Dean came back.

Mika went wide eyed as she looked down at the man in her arms waking up with a jolt. "Dean? Dean!" She exclaimed, flinging herself round him hugging him tightly. "Holy shit you're back!" she said, muffled by her hugging him tightly.

Natalia and Sam both went wide eyed in shock as well, wondering what the hell just brought him back this time and how. They were stunned, frozen in their retrospective spots that was now beside each other, Nat's arm round her brother's waist as they consoled each other.

Esme Stirling

Esme dropped her head, her hair falling forward to cover her face from view. She barely heard Cason’s words from all the pain she was feeling, but she slowly shook her head no. If she was being honest with herself, she didn’t feel okay at all. Her whole body felt broken, and the uncontrollable shaking didn’t help any. She cut her eyes up seeing Dean laying on the floor, with Bobby at his side. His actions said it all, Dean was dead. The demon that had carried him up the stairs and threw him on the floor had killed him. Esme carefully uncurled her legs from under her, then carefully inched her way to a wall.

It was the only bit of movement she could muster. She leaned her side against the wall, keeping her back to everyone in the room as they made it to the room. They all had failed miserably in the fight. Not only did they lose Dean, but they lost Annabeth as well. She knew because she couldn’t feel anything from her. Esme curled in on herself as she leaned against the wall, tears streaming down her cheeks as she heard and felt everyone's grief. She closed her eyes and held her broken arm against her body. She felt like a complete and utter failure, but she also couldn’t figure out how she had taken out all the demons in the room.

Plus, she really wasn’t in the right state of mind to figure that out right now. What she had done actually had her scared of herself, and she didn’t get scared that easily. She could only imagine what the others would think of her once they had composed themselves. She had just literally become a demon nuke, and somehow Cason had survived the blast. She was an emotional time bomb, and there was no telling when she would explode again. She sighed and rested her forehead on the wall, tears streaming down her cheeks as she silently cried and cursed to herself. It suddenly became clear that it was dangerous to be around this group.

One hour later

Most of the hour she spent pressed up against the wall, not looking at anyone and keeping her back to them. Their grief plus her own was ripping her apart and keeping her tears flowing down her cheeks. She had been trying to think of what they should do and how they could bring him back, but she could think of nothing. She hated herself for agreeing that they should give Dean a hunter's funeral, but it had felt like the only option when the others brought it up. She then felt a gust of wind but didn’t think much of it. Thinking it came from one of the broken windows or through the front doorway, it was wide open after all, from her crashing through it.

She then felt a touch on her head, but saw nothing it could come from. She winced and held back a cry of pain as she felt her arm repair itself, along with any serious wound she had. She took in a deep breath, then looked over at Dean when she heard him gasp for air. Esme’s eyes widened in complete and utter shock. He was alive. She wiped away her tears with a small smile on her lips as Mika flung herself at him. She could share in the happiness that he was back. She then picked up her knife from the floor and pushed herself off the floor and onto her feet, stumbling a little, feeling every sore spot she had as she did.

She wiped the blade on her pants and put the knife in its sheath on her belt, then looked at Dean. “Glad to have you back, Dean.” she said softly as she wiped away more tears from her cheeks. She then quietly pushed herself off the wall and walked to the front door and out onto the porch. Once outside, she breathed in the cool night air and sat on the porch steps. She ran her hands through her hair and then down her face before propping her elbows on her knees and putting her face in her hands. Violet soon joined her, laying down behind her and curling around her with a whine and gentle nudge

“Hey Violet.” she whispered as she pulled her face from her hands. Esme leaned into Violet and rested her head on her shoulder, more tears threatened to fall from her eyes as thought filled her mind. Violet then laid her head down on Esme’s leg with a whine. Esme placed her hand on Violet’s head and gave it a scratch. “After what happened in there, I don’t even know if I should stay.” she whispered to her. “I could have easily killed them along with all the demons…… I’m actually surprised you’re here with me.” she continued as she closed her eyes. Violet responded with a small whine and curled around Esme more as she nuzzled her leg. Esme gave a weak smile at the gesture. “Thank you.”

Dean Winchester

Dean frowned in confusion as Mika flung her body over him. She seemed frantic and confused but also relieved. He listened to her words and frowned even deeper, “What? What do you mean I’m back?”

He sat up a bit, pulling her with him, and wrapped his arms around her in a groan, bringing a hand up to touch the wound that was now healed on the back of his head, but still ached as it finished healing.

“What the hell happened? I was fighting the demons and everything just went black and…did I die?!”, he gasped, staring at Mika with wide eyes, before staring around at everyone else with a terrified look, “DID I DIE?!”

He turned to Bobby, his wide eyes not changing a bit as he tried to process how he was alive, considering all of their faces. Maybe God did have big plans for him, or something. He hugged Mika a little tighter with a sigh, realizing that sometime while he was dead, the battle had ended.

He then pulled back to look around and see if they had lost anyone. Cason looked rough as he sat on the couch, over half his body was burned and visibly regenerating. Esme spoke to him and his head snapped to her with a warm smile, “You look like crap…”

He then glanced to his brother, “The girl. Did we win?”

Cason

Cason’s body had had an entire hour to begin repairs, and it was working fast, to his relief. His hair had almost all grown back in, and apart from a few deep burns to his right cheek and down his arm, he was relatively healed. He stood with some effort from the couch as Dean panicked and the others seemed relieved. He couldn’t lie, he was relieved to see Dean Winchester back in the game, especially now.

Seeing Sam in the room, and noticing that he hadn’t gone back down stairs caused his heart to skip a beat. Annabeth was gone. She was truly gone. He let out a shuddered sigh, and scanned over the group as Esme stepped outside, “We could have used your help Dean. Good to see you up and moving…”

As he got to his feet, he headed for the front porch as well, stepping quietly out the door behind Esme. He didn’t approach her, just watched Violet take over, wrapping herself around her to try and calm her. He knew she had to be blaming herself for losing control, when in reality, she had saved them all.

Well. Not so much Cason, but everyone else. He stepped forward toward the wide set of steps she was sitting on, and took a careful seat next to her, his knee bumping hers to show that he was there on good terms.

“You okay?”, he asked, now able to fully check her over, “You realize you saved the day, right? Like…we’re all alive because of you.”

Annabeth

“That’s enough…”, Alastair groaned, as Annabeth sat shivering on the floor. She had drank nearly three gallons of demon blood within the past several hours, and she felt like her heart was going to beat out of her chest and run away. Her head was swimming, and she couldn’t see much of anything, other than Alastair’s eyes as he bent down and helped her off the ground, “You’re strong enough to kill just about anyone you want to, now. I’m really impressed.”

“So I can go?”, she asked, and Alastair’s face changed to pure sadness as he peered into her blue eyes. He shook his head sadly, and stepped away from her, stepping over dead demons as he did so.

“I actually need you to go back into your room. I have to make a supply run for more blood and…well…I don’t trust you not to kill the non angels in the building and bleed them dry.”, he quipped, gesturing for the large male demon that was guarding her to take her back to her room. He then stepped out the door of the warehouse, and disappeared.

The demon grabbed her arm, pulling her as her feet skidded across the ground. She protested, trying to wrench his arm away from hers, as well as concentrate through her headache on exorcising him. But her nerves were too high for her powers to work properly as he drug her. He finally stopped and coughed a bit of black smoke, sneering, “You’re not supposed to do that, remember? I have permission to break both your hands into pieces if you do so. So, which finger first?”

“No! No wait. If I could just get some air, and calm down…maybe I could come back and be better?”, she asked the demon, who laughed, not making eye contact with her. He then accidentally caught her glance, and she concentrated harder, staring into his eyes, “You will let me go, and give me your phone…”

“Um. Okay.”, the demon whispered, his eyes dazed as he pulled his phone from his pocket, and gently released her wrist. Annabeth sighed, relieved that one of the powers Alastair had mentioned was real. She snatched the phone from his hand, and sprinted to the door, the demon simply standing there with his hands at his sides.

As soon as she stepped outside, she took a deep breath in the chilled air, closing her eyes and tipping her head back. After several seconds of absolutely worshipping the fresh air in her lungs, she snapped back to reality and pulled the demon’s cellphone in front of her.

Fumbling, she closed her eyes to remember Sam’s number that she had memorized before they ended up in the vault. He would come for her. He would meet her, and she could tell him everything, before coming back. If she stayed with him, tonight would happen all over again, but she could at least warn him, and give him the command to kill her, if the time came that he needed to.

After the number was punched into the phone, she pulled it up to her ear and closed her eyes, “C’mon Sam. Answer the phone. Please be okay…”

As she waited for him to answer, a gust of wind caught her attention and the smell of…roses? The faint sound of music could be heard from the warehouse, as the demon inside sang a hair metal ballad, seemingly to no one.

Esme Stirling

Esme didn’t know Cason had followed her out and stood back, watching her with Violet. His sudden appearance at her side and bumping his knee to hers caused her to flinch a little and curl more into Violet. After almost taking him out with the other demons, she figured he’d keep his distance for a little while. She kept her eyes closed as he spoke. She knew he was right, but she still couldn’t push the thought from her mind that she could have taken the others out, too. She purposely jumped over his question of if she was okay. She didn’t feel okay and knew how he’d act if she told him.

“Yes, I do realize that.” she mumbled. “But…… I could have easily killed the others as well. It was a…… A fluke that the others weren’t harmed or…… Killed.” she continued. The thought of having accidentally killing the others made her sick to her stomach, and she would never have been able to forgive herself for it if she had. She wiped away a tear that escaped her closed eye and sighed heavily, wincing a little at the pain she felt from her soreness. “I’m an emotional time bomb…… I could hurt anyone at any point without meaning to.” she mumbled, becoming drowsy.

“I should leave…. Get away from them……. I feel everything they do…… It’s dangerous to stay.” She fell silent as exhaustion finally took hold of her and she passed out against Violet. A tear slid down her cheek and her breathing slowed to show she had fallen into a deep sleep. Her face had relaxed into a soft expression as she slept, it no longer held the pain and self-blaming it had before.

Cason

Cason furrowed his brow, glancing over to look at her face as she spoke. He was tempted to wipe the tears that fell from her eyes, but he refrained, wanting to make be less possessive and on top of her, like she asked. He knew she was right about the fact that her nuclear moment could have been bad for everyone, or at the least, as bad as his injuries. Only the others couldn’t heal the way he could. He sighed, kicking his heel against the step as she kept explaining.

His head shot up when she mentioned leaving, “No. Esme…Don’t say that. You just need to find a way to calm yourself, around people that feel things a little too much, you know? I mean, when I was younger, I had moments, and if it wasn’t for…her.”

He broke off, not wanting to talk about the woman he had been with, before the war. She was a British girl, an empath like himself. He could still see her blue eyes and bright blonde hair as it shined off the ocean, while they snuck around in her father’s mansion. He shook her out of his mind and continued, “I would have probably killed…”

He then noticed that she had fallen asleep on Violet, who was being as protective as ever, simply letting her lay there. Cason’s face fell into a sad gaze, as he reached a hand over, brushing his thumb down her cheek, slowly, his one working eye squinting to avoid the rush of emotion he was suddenly feeling as well. Being a demon, and dealing with human emotions was rough, and most of the time he could turn them off, like he figured Dean was able to do in Hell. You do what you have to do to survive.

But with Esme, he felt everything. He felt her loss, her remorse, her guilt, and though he wanted to shoulder all of it, due to his unfortunate feelings for her, he had promised her he would stay back a bit.

“What are you doing to me?”, he asked in a whisper, backing himself off the steps to stand. With Violet’s help, he was able to lift her into his arms, placing a small and almost automatic kiss against her temple as he carried her back to the door. Shoving it open from the broken door frame, he re-entered the house, careful to step around the broken salt line and over to the couch.

He caught Bobby’s attention, causing him to raise his eyebrows as he laid her down gently on the small couch, careful with her head as he lowered it onto the pile of pillows near the arm. He stepped back, painfully pulling the jacket he had conjured himself from his arms with a groan, and sighed as he stared at her. She wasn’t going anywhere…

He covered her upper body with the jacket, tucking the collar under her chin and then brushing her hair away from her face gently with a sigh. Stepping back from her, he picked up her legs, and flopped onto the other end of the couch, laying her legs across his own, with his arms draped over them. He had nothing to do but heal, and he could do just that, while making sure Esme was safe, no matter what agreement they had.

Violet nudged him as she finally made her way into the house, her body moving his legs to the side. She carefully pushed herself up against the couch and laid down, her head nuzzling under Esme's hand with a huff.

SAM WINCHESTER

Sam's thoughts and relief of having his brother back alive were completely interrupted when he felt his phone vibrating in his jeans pocket, making him peel away from Natalia ever so slightly to answer the call, instead of answering Dean's question. Looking at the number, he didn't recognise it at first, but answered it cautiously anyway, wiping his eyes to compose himself. "hello?" he answered.

"Sam?", Annabeth breathed, as relief washed over her. She brought a shaky hand up to cover her eyes as a couple of tears of both relief and stress fell from her eyes, "Oh my god. You're okay. You're okay...um..."

Sam felt his whole entire core freeze up out of shock that Annabeth was still alive and okay, or as okay as one could be in her situation. "Anna?!" he replied in shock, stepping away from everyone in the room and taking the call in Bobby's hallway. "are you okay? Are you hurt?" he asked in quick succession.

Anna smiled slightly at his asking if she was okay, considering everything that had happened, "Um...I don't know, honestly. I'm with Alastair, and Sam...I need to talk to you, somewhere safe."

Her voice was shaky, as the demon blood in her system raged through her veins.

"it's okay, it's okay. You can talk to me, I'm away from the group. What's happening? Do you know whereabouts you are? Anything that can help us find you?" he asked her, honestly so relieved to hear her voice, but on edge that she was with Alistair. He knew this was not going to be good news for Dean, who had just come back to life.

She continued rubbing at her eyebrows, hearing the heartbeats of the demons Alastair had locked up for draining as she stood outside the warehouse, "I can...um...I can hear a train. I don't think we are out of South Dakota, but you can't come here. This place is loaded with demons, and if he finds out I'm even outside..."

She broke off and sobbed, gasping harshly, "He's going to kill you if he even finds out I'm gone."

Sam listened to her explanation of where she was convinced of her location and nodding, knowing the area well enough of where she could be. The idea of not being able to go after her killed him and it was one request he couldn't oblige. "hey... Hey hey.. Its okay, shh" he cooed softly to her as he heard her sob, just wanting to comfort her.

"we'll figure something out, but get back inside and stay safe. I will save you Anna, I swear to you. I'll save you" he told her.

She nodded her head, looking around the area to see if she could find a way away, as she took a deep breath at his shushing, "I um...if you come, there's a road under the railroad tracks that leads up to what looks like a building. I will try to...I will try to get back there, and..."

She broke off with a sigh, "Please be careful. Please, Sam..."

Sam nodded even though she couldn't see it, the description ringing a bell with him, "I know the place, stay safe. I will be, I promise. Just keep playing the long game for me, I'll get you out. Just hold on for me" he said to her.

She nodded in return, feeling relief in his voice that washed over her. She dried the tears on her face, wiping a bit of blood from her mouth with them, "Goodbye, Sam."

"see you soon Anna" Sam replied, refusing to say goodbye as it felt too final to him and he was refusing to say anything so final just yet. He hung up the phone after, seeing a notepad and pen on the hallway dresser, grabbing the pen he scribbled down the location of where Anna was and snuck on out the front door.

MIKA CHAMBERS AND NATALIA WINCHESTER

Mika couldn't believe that Dean was so confused as to why they were all so frantic and confused but relieved at seeing him very much alive. She was about to say why they were reacting the way they were when it dawned on him. She nodded at him, "you did. The female demon killed you with the crowbar I dropped when I got flung across the basement. You've been dead for an hour" she explained, wiping her eyes.

She revelled in the fact he was hugging her tightly before he looked around the room to see who was still around and who wasn't. They all looked pretty rough around the edges but it was clear that Cason had the worst of the blast that saved all their asses, thanks to Esme. She still didn't understand why Esme could have done such an action, but boy was she was thankful she did, even if that on top of the big fight caused a lot of destruction to her home.

She looked at Sam and Natalia as Dean asked about where Anna was, wondering how Sam was going to explain why Anna didn't come up from the basement with him but it seemed his phone was more important than answering the damn question. Instead the explanation was be given by Nat as she had quietly spoken to Sam about it when everyone was mourning Dean, fighting over what should be done with his body and Mika going completely apeshit holding them all at gun point.

"An Angel got her Dean.... He took her to Alistair and we don't know where" Nat explained somberly. "Sam told me there was no other choice, it was let her go or he got killed in the bloodiest way possible" she added, "he chose to let her go in that moment as that was Anna's wish. She didn't give him a choice really. She didn't want us to lose both of you boys" she added.

Whilst Natalia was filling Dean in on what happened whilst he was technically dead, Mika listened also, but not only that she was aware of Cason going outside to talk to Esme before bringing her sleeping form back inside after a few minutes and like Bobby, was watching with curiosity at how gentle he was being to the other woman. Yet unlike Bobby, she was secretly and selfishly hoping that if Cason continued being the main focus of Esme in one or another, she would keep away from Dean. Promise or not to try and be ncier to Esme, she couldn't just switch off her jealousy like a light switch.

Dean Winchester

Dean couldn’t believe what he was hearing as he met Nat’s eyes. They had lost. The girl was gone. Sam had, for some reason, chose himself over her. Dean thought about it, and thought about Alastair, and then realized no…no he didn’t. He took a chance, because Alastair would have slaughtered all of them, if he wanted her bad enough.

He turned his head to the side, cracking his neck that was still incredibly stiff after being dead for a time, and moved himself to try and stand, turning his gaze to Mika. He noticed where her gaze had fallen, and he swallowed, realizing she was still thinking about what had happened at the hotel with Esme.

“Well then, we gotta go get her…”, he grumbled, pushing himself away from Mika and off the ground.

“No hold the hell on…”, Bobby stopped him in his tracks, “You just came back from the dead…again. Can’t you take a damn minute to appreciate that?”

“No. What I can do is go and kill Alastair. The son of a bitch is going to use that poor girl as a weapon. I can’t let him do that, to her or to the universe. What the hell do you think he wants her for?!”, he almost shouted at Bobby, who flinched but stood strong against him as they stood toe to toe.

“And you’re no good to anyone dead. None of you are. We stay here. We regroup. We wait for Sam to get back and we figure this out together. Going in half cocked is what got us in this mess in the first place!”, Bobby shouted back, grabbing Dean’s shirt. He let him go, patting him on the chest, “Give us a chance to just appreciate you being alive, boy…”
“Fine. Start making some calls. First thing in the morning, I’m going to find him. You can either come with, or I’ll take him myself…”, Dean spat, stepping away from all of them to walk into the kitchen. He was practically dying of thirst and starting to shake from anxiety, while talking about the man who had forced his hand in Hell. He didn’t want any of them to see how shook up he was.

Annabeth

Anna fumbled with the phone in her hand, trying to make a decision on what to do. She could still hear the demon singing, oblivious to her being outside. Alastair would be gone potentially all night, as he rounded up more demons for the holding tank. So... She took off in a run, sprinting toward the building she had described to Sam. As she stepped inside, she looked around the building, noticing that it wasn't warded at all, which would leave them sitting ducks, but she had to take her chances. She needed to tell Sam face to face that she likely wouldn't be able to come back to him, despite how desperate he seemed to get her out. Until Alastair could be killed, there was little hope... She sat on the bottom step that led to the rafters of the second warehouse, curling her arms around her stomach and letting out a soft sob at the situation, and the rushing of demon blood through her brain.

Outside, Sam instantly went to his car, knowing that if he drove it would be much quicker than walking it. It also meant that IF he needed any weapons, he would have them. Taking his keys out of his pocket of his jacket, he quietly got inside his car and drove off as quietly as he could before then speeding up to get to the warehouse near the railroad in question. The drive took only around a few minutes for him in total, but knew it'd have taken longer if he were on foot and he couldn't risk taking the longest mode of transport to get to Annabeth. As he got there, he pulled up close by but not so close that any demons watching the area would spot him. Turning the engine and headlights off, he got out of the car zipping his jacket right up from the cool night air and walked to his trunk where he quietly unlocked it and pulled out his flashlight and at least a knife that he could easily stash away securely. Closing the trunk once more, he stealthily headed over to where he needed to meet Annabeth, finding a way in after making sure the coast was clear.

Anna covered her arms as best she could in the cold warehouse as a familiar and safe prescence swept over her body, causing her to look up suddenly as Sam stepped into the large room. She almost yelled to him, but instead stood from the step and sprinted toward him, quickly throwing her arms around his waist. "Oh my god. It's so good to see your face...", she gasped against his chest, taking a deep breath of the safety in his scent as she held onto him.

As Sam got into warehouse and snuck his way through the back way, he just had the feeling that Annabeth was nearby, which got confirmed when he looked ahead of him after checking either side and saw Annabeth running at him and instantly hugging him tightly. He wrapped his arms round her, turning his flashlight off so they could be in private and not risk their presence to any demons. "It's good to see you too" he replied, kissing the top of her head out of instinct.

She breathed a few more deep breaths against his chest, before pulling back from him, realizing they were likely on a time schedule. She peered up at him and bit her lip before starting to explain, "The angel brought me to the warehouse...across the lot. Alastair has been making me drink gallons...GALLONS of some kind of blood. It's making me feel horrible. He said he would chain me up and kill all of you, if I tried to get away, and has been t-torturing me...making me kill." She looked down from his eyes, taking a deep breath, "It's why I can't come back with you...but I needed you to know, and hear it from me. I can't let him hurt you.”

As she spoke to him after pulling herself away from him, he listened intently, glancing up toward the warehouse across the lot out of instinct before looking back at her. He went wide eyed then his eyes narrowed in anger as she told him what Alistair was making her do. It was so much like what Ruby was making him do and he never wanted this for her. She was too innocent to be put through this.

He placed his hand on her cheek and rubbed it with his thumb as she told himt hat's why she couldn't come back with him, and as much as he wanted to plead and beg her to go with him, he knew deep down, that Alistair would do as he says, if anything that Dean said earlier on in the day was anything to go by. "O...okay" he stammered his reply, lifting her head from under her chin with his thumb, to make her look at him again, giving her a reassuring small smile. "I know how you feel....believe me. I get what you're going through, but that's between you and me" he then told her. "So get back there so he doesn't know you've gone, but the moment you can, you update me. I will come back for you when it's safe to do so" he said once more, kissing her forehead.

As she took in his expressions, she realized that he knew what was coming before she even explained her plan to him. She almost wanted him to protest, but on the other hand knew that if he did, she would likely stay. She nuzzled into his hand, closing her eyes as she took in the calm that washed over her, and the warmth of his calloused hand.

“I’m so sorry you came all the way here, for this. I wanted to look you in the eyes to tell you.”, she whispered, as his thumb raised her chin and she stared between his eyes, trying to talk herself into running with him. It hurt her stomach like cancer to think about staying, or to think about him driving away, now. His kiss against her forehead caused her eyes to flutter closed again as she sighed, “I’m pretty sure that’s not going to happen any time soon…”

She then stepped back, raising her hand to his and lowering it to his side as she stepped away from him, “Take care of yourself, and if you get a chance, kill him?”

She then turned and wrapped her arms around her body again to shield her bare arms from the cold as she began stomping across the gravel floor of the warehouse, back to her demon Nanny.

MIKA CHAMBERS AND NATALIA WINCHESTER

Mika did not intend to make her glance over to Esme and Cason be all that noticable to Dean and she didn't truly realise Dean had noticed or that he was thinking it was all because of what happened in the hotel. Sure it was partly because of that but she was more curious and confused by Cason's attachment and how it seemed to be getting more clingy toward Esme, but also glad. Not only that but the fact Esme had completely burnt herself out by doing what she did, she had to admit that she was actually concerned for the woman and hoped she would be alright, despite her jealousy.

Dean's grumble about needing to go and get Annabeth made Mika look back at him. She did not agree with that idea in the slightest as they had no plan, he was just back from the dead, she was nursing a damn concussion herself and Esme was still out cold needing all the rest she could get right now. Standing up after Dean did, she watched as Bobby was the first to stop Dean and try and convince him that it wasn't the best idea. Yet she wasn't expecting the two men to go toe to toe in front of everyone and Dean not think rationally over this.

She went to step up to get between them when Nat grabbed her arm to keep her back, "Bobby has this" Nat whispered to her which luckily for her, worked on Mika as she did stand down. Nat knew as well as Sam did (if he was there) how much Mika hated the two of them fighting or arguing but right now was not the time to get in between them. Even if she could understand why Mika would want to.

Dean storming off made both girls sigh as Nat let go of Mika's arm and ran her hand through her hair with a hefty sigh escaping her lips, wondering why Sam would clearly sneak off without the rest of them as he hadn't come back into the room after the phone call and it was eerily quiet in the hallway. Turning her head to see it was empty, she knew Bobby's assumption that her brother ran off to try and deal with it himself was indeed stupidly correct.

Mika went after Dean but kept her distance, leaning against the kitchen table just watching him get highly affected by the fact Alistair was involved with this. SHe felt like as much as Dean wanted to be alone, the fact he told her evreything earlier on, she would get away with being in the vacinity with him. She took a couple of moments before heading to the cupboard that had the painkillers in them as an excuse for being in there, "We'll get her back Dean ya know, we're not gonna leave her" she spoke quietly, pulling the box of painkillers of varying kinds down and rummaging through it for the strongest ones.

Looking at all the small text made her have to blink a few times to refocus her eyes, an aggravated groan lowly escaping her lips as she did so as she realised with everything going on, not once did she ever check on her own health as she properly came round.

SAM WINCHESTER AND ANNABETH

Sam listened quietly as Annabeth apologised for asking him to come to her, only to be told to not bring her back with him, but despite his emotional mind wanting to ignore her and drag her out of there, he knew what she was saying was the right thing to do. They had to play the long game, even for a little bit for the sake of everyone's lives. They couldn't losing anyone else again. At her request to kill Alistair if they get the chance, he nodded as his hand went back to his side. "You can count on that happening and we will bring you back....alive" he told her, pure conviction in his belief of what he was telling her. As she walked away, he turned his flashlight back on and headed back to his car. It was the hardest walk away he ever had to do to date.
Cupid sat above them in the rafters of the warehouse, tears streaming down their face as he watched them walk away from each other. This wasn't supposed to happen. Snapping his fingers, a faint melody started playing from out of nowhere, causing Anna to turn, her eyes narrowed as she peered up at the ceiling or anywhere the music could be coming from.

The faint sound of a melody was just about heard from Sam but at first, he didn't think much of it. He just thought the demons around had put on a radio or something similar to make it look perfectly normal. So he didn't think to go back and investigate, it wasn't like he had heard of any kind of hunt that required weird sounds of music playing out of the blue. As he got nearer to the exit, his thoughts started coming to the front of his mind which then caused him to start singing out loud, but quiet enough so as not to be spotted.

He stopped walking, turning his heels to look back at where he had just come from, confused as to why he was singing his thoughts and feelings toward Annabeth.

Anna turned, staring at Sam as she heard music, mixed with his voice and the look on his face.

"You know I want you. It's not a secret I try to hide. I know you want me. So don't keep saying our hands are tied...."

"Sam?", she asked, stepping closer to him.

He started walking back toward her, his mind wanting to stop singing, but no matter how much he tried, he couldn't stop the lyrics from pouring out of his mouth. "You claim it's not on the cards, fate is pulling you miles away, and out of reach from me. But you're here in my heart, so who can stop me if I decide that you're my destiny?" he kept singing as he looked right at her.

"what if we rewrite the stars? Say you were made to be mine... Nothing could keep us apart, you'd be the one I was meant to find"

Anna kept the confused face on until something washed over her and her face relaxed, listening to him sing the words to her. She stepped up close to him, placing a hand on his chest, running it around his back as she circled him and he continued.

"It's up to you. And it's up to me. No one can say what we get to be...."

She closed her eyes, as she came around to his front, running her hand up his chest to touch his face as he sang.

Cupid smiled, his eyes welling up in tears as he watched them.

Sam watched her as she circled around him, looking as confused as he was feeling but he knew that whatever force was making this happen, he had to just go along with it. He listened as she started singing back, seeing instantly that it was affecting her as well as himself.

"maybe we can rewrite the stars, maybe the world could be ours tonight"

She paused, leaning in close to his face while standing on her tiptoes, screaming inside her head that this was sending the wrong message, and...she couldn't stop.

"You think it's easy?", she stepped back from him after singing the words and continued, while walking away from him, "You think I don't wanna run to you? But there are mountains and there are doors that we can't walkthrough. I know you're wondering why, because we're able to be just you and me, within these walls.", she covered her arms with her hands, "But when we go outside, you're gonna wake up and see that it was hopeless after all..."

He watched her intently, following her every movement with his eyes. He then walked around her, hugging her from behind, his arms around her own, swaying her side to side as she sang the chorus before spinning her outward and pulling her back into him as she sang.

"No one can rewrite the stars. How can you say you'll be mine...", she sang, colliding with his chest and stepping back up onto her tiptoes to lean in close again, "Everything keeps us apart and I'm not the one you were meant to find!"

She pulled back from him, restrained from running by his hands, "It's not up to you. It's not up to me when everyone tells us what we can be. So, how can we rewrite the stars and say that the world can be ours tonight?"

Every time her mouth opened he was blown away by her as he began singing beside her again, "All I want is to fly with you, all I want is to fall with you, so just give me all of you!" he sang with her, his eyes pleading as his all his inner thoughts and feelings about being reunited with her came pouring out of him within the lyrics.

She sang in unison with him, her heart pounding at the idea that she could actually go back with him, and there was some force in the world that wanted her to. But her mind was still not believing it.

"It feels impossible! Is it impossible?!", she sang out, throwing herself into his arms, staying close to him this time, "How do we rewrite the stars? Say you were made to be mine. Nothing could keep us apart, 'cause you are the one I was meant to find. It's up to you, and it's up to me. No one can say what we get to be! So why don't we rewrite the stars, changing the world to be ours..."

As they finished the chorus, she dropped back to her feet, staring at him, her lips touching his, "You know I want you. It's not a secret I try to hide. But I can't have you. We're bound to break and my hands...are tied."

She sang the last few words slowly, her lips moving against his before pulling away from him completely. She stepped back and sprinted toward the exit, which caused Cupid to almost cry out for her, on Sam's behalf.

With her running off, Sam sighed as the song seemed to fade to a close. Picking up his flashlight off the ground that he at some point dropped, he exited out the way he came in and got back into his car, driving back to Bobby's in silence.

Dean Winchester

Dean leaned against the counter, his palms holding his weight, and turned the sink on angrily and filled a nearby glass with water as Mika stepped into the kitchen. His hand was shaking badly as he filled it up, and he sat it down roughly on the counter to stop anyone from potentially see his shivering. Blinking heavily as a stray tear escaped his eye.

He heard her footsteps, and carefully glanced over at her as she opened the cupboard to fetch the painkillers she needed. He turned his head back to the sink and placed his chin against his chest, squeezing his eyes shut, “It’s not the girl…it’s what she is. It’s what…Sam…is. If Alastair figures out how to activate whatever it is that makes her tick, he’ll use her and then use her to get Sam…”

He muttered the words quietly, opening his eyes and glancing over at her again. He realized she was having issues with the labels, and let out a heavy sigh, grabbing the glass of water and bringing it to where she was standing. Dean sat the glass of water on the counter in front of her, and snatched the box out of her hands.

“Give that to me. Did anyone check you over? I was dead…they should have…”, he muttered just as angrily, easily finding what she needed and tossing it next to the glass of water. Sitting the box next to everything, he turned back to her, the tear on his face falling from his chin as he put on his business face and turned her face toward the light with both his hands. He moved her face side to side, watching her eyes, “Shockingly, your pupils look pretty good…but you got rocked. Can you take five seconds to think about yourself? Please?”

He turned back to the counter, letting her go and popped the pills out of their packaging, before picking up the water in his other hand and holding them both out to her, “Here…”

Annabeth

Annabeth let out a hard sob as she stepped back into the warehouse to see the demon that had been watching her dead on the floor, his body wrecked from some sort of torture. She let out a shaky breath, and saw the set of feet standing beside him, her eyes closing in regret.

“I thought…I made things clear.”, Alastair groaned, a group of demons stepping up beside him. They all glared at her as he spoke, but were smirking, “And now, unfortunately I’m going to have to kill Sam Winchester…I’m sad about it, honestly!”

“He didn’t have anything to do with this. I just needed to…”

“STOP LYING TO ME! I saw the overgrown piece of flannel pulling away from here in that rust bucket. He was here. He came to your rescue, right?”, Alastair snapped at her, causing her to flinch, “What plan did you hatch with him?”

Anna stood, not saying a word, until Alastair stepped forward and raised his hand with a wide smile, “How does it sound to you? No angels. Just a hoard of demons while the Winchesters are trying to patch themselves up. And I have on good authority from a…source, that their little demon bomb? She’s out cold. Spent.”

As Anna listened to Alastair, she began to shiver, her hands balling into fists, and the lights flickering around them. Cupid flew in, a small gust of wind blowing Anna’s hair as he did so. Alastair looked up toward where he was sitting and smirked.

“An angel?”, he whispered, as music started to play again. This time the music was heavy, and the walls of the building began to shake, “Anna….don’t do anything you’re going to regret…”

“Ooh…Heavy!”, Anna suddenly smiled, her eyes turning white as the room quivered and the demons began stepping forward. Alastair turned to them, yelling something that Anna couldn’t hear over the music. She slowed her breathing and thought of Sam, visions of them running through a field, holding hands, happy.

“I wanna love everyone. Empty every bullet out of every gun. Please take me back to where we began. Ba ba ba ba….”, she started to sing, causing the demons to stop approaching for a second and stare, confused. The music hit a heavy note again and she rushed forward, squeezing their heads with her powers, each of them popping with a gush of blood, “Get me, get me bloody please get me bloody…”

She shoved one of the demons to the ground, her foot on his chest, “You can get down on your knees if you’re naughty…”, bringing her hand into a claw, his head exploded.

“PLEASE get me bloody!”

She then began dancing in a circle, frolicking as Alastair screamed behind her, realizing he couldn’t blast her with his white light, but the light caused another vision, “Maybe we can save the world. From every evil boy and dangerous girl. Please make me believe in harmony….”

As she touched Sam’s face in the vision, she came out of it and the evil smile reappeared on her face as she threw her hand out in front of her, causing more blood to splash onto her white t-shirt, now completely saturated and dyed red. The song turned heavy, running through the verse again, as the gravel became puddled with blood. It was then that she realized Alastair was on his own.

She stepped up to him, “Please get me bloody!”

His hand broke backward, causing him to scream, at the same time both his legs snapped and he fell to the ground. She smiled brightly and began dancing around the room as the softer part of the song played, Cupid staring on in horror at what he had made her do, by just helping her stand up for herself.

“I wanna love everyone. Empty every bullet out of every gun.”, Sam’s bright eyes shined in the sunlight in her head as she danced, “Maybe you can save the world for every boy and every girl! Take me back. Take me back. Take me back to the place where we began…”

As the song ended, she came out of her trance, her eyes fading back to normal and gasped. Somewhere close to thirty demons were piled in various states of dismemberment around her, a hoard of black smoke frantically making its way out of the warehouse from the dead meatsuits.

“Holy shit…Oh my god…”, she gasped again as two angels appeared in front of her with fear and concern in their eyes, grabbing both of Alastair’s arms and disappearing with him. She turned toward the door, panicking and made a break for Bobby’s house.

MIKA CHAMBERS

She listened to him say what it was about Annabeth that had him so incredibly worried. The somber thought of there being a very big reason as to why Alistair would want Annabeth had never truly strayed from Mika's mind but with everything else that included trying to stop everyone giving Dean a hunter's funeral, trying to stay very much conscious and just plain out grieving, she couldn't let herself think about all the possible problems of Alistair's need for Annabeth as well.

It was only really now that she wanted to suss out Dean's mental state did she even let herself think about her own problem as well as thinking about how they needed to get Annabeth as soon as they were all at a status where they'd be useful. She nodded at his words, knowing he was right. "we won't let anything happen to her... or Sammy." she replied as she kept trying to focus her eyes.

She got taken off guard when he snatched the bottles from her hands, not expecting him to suddenly just take charge of what she was doing before asking if anyone actually checked her over. "Think Nat checked I wasn't out cold but...we didn't exactly get a chance to think of us. Considering you died again....and all." she replied quietly, not wanting to piss him off even more and seeing the tear that has escaped his eye, fall from his chin.

As he grabbed her face and angled her toward the light, she just let him check her over, making sure she was coherent enough to be okay. At his words, she sighed and gave him the most sheepish smile she had given him in a long time. "I'm sorry Dean, i'll do better" she promised him, letting him get the painkillers out of the packet for her and hand it to her, where she took the tablets and the glass of water from his grip and took them with a swig back.

"You know we're all worried about you...right? Me mostly" she told him quietly, putting the glass down on the worktop when she was satisfied the tablets did go down her throat with no problems.

SAM WINCHESTER

When Sam iniially started his drive back, he found himself having to pull over on the side of the road at one point, just before he got to the last two minutes of the journey back to Bobby's to try and process what the hell just happened and who the hell was even to blame to the break out song and dance number. Not only that, he felt like crap that he still had to walk away and leave Annabeth in the hands of demons and not just go get her back, in the hopes he could kill as many demons as possible or at least exorcise them back to Hell without dying himself.

He wasn't even aware of how long he had been at the side of the road when he saw a familiar small framed figure running down the road in the direcion he was going in. "Anna?" he questioned to himself, quiclly getting out of the car and standing in front of the driver's door. "Anna! Anna get in the car!" he called out to her as she got close enough for her to hear him.

He knew that if by some chance demons were after her, she'd have a much better chance of getting away if she got in his car and they drove away at a decent speed. It was her only hope of getting away safely, but as she drew closer he noticed something wasn't right about her. She was absolutely smothered in blood and looking far from okay.

"Crap..." he gasped to himself.

Dean Winchester

“I was dead. Dead bodies don’t go anywhere. That’s something we’ve had as a hard rule since we were kids…”, he muttered to her when she brought up his death again, “If there’s a dead body and living in danger, go with the living.”

He was concerned. Of course he was. He woke up in better shape than she did, and he had died! He watched her carefully as she took the pills from him and downed them, sighing in relief that she at least agreed to that. He leaned forward at her last words, kissing her on the forehead, his hand resting on the back of her head, “I’ll be alright. But I won’t be alright if anything happens to you. I think you know that…”

He pulled his lips back from her forehead, giving her a small smile to make up for being so short with her. He brushed the hair away from her face a bit, with another sad sigh, “You gotta learn when to leave me alone, you know? Run. Don’t stand there and take a beating. You almost got yourself killed tonight.”

He knew she wouldn’t like the words, but it was the truth in his eyes. He would end up a raging lunatic if she was hurt worse, or dead. The group had better think themselves lucky it was him. He lowered his hand to pick hers up, bringing it to his lips and kissing her knuckles to wave a white flag…

Cason

As Cason watched Dean and Mika, and how they were around each other, he narrowed his eyes, wondering what they had done to stay together so long, as much as they seemed to butt heads. Dean was harsh and abrasive, and he was that way with her…and she stayed. He was almost mesmerized as he listened to their conversation.

Glancing down at Esme, he ran a hand over in front of her mouth to make sure she was still breathing. Happy that she was, and seeing how calm the hellhound under her hand still seemed, he smirked. He leaned over, his face staring down at hers, as he stared at her lips and then back up to her closed eyes, noticing how peaceful she looked.

But they needed to figure out their next move about Alastair, and quick, as their tricks wouldn’t keep him away forever and he had any demon he wanted in his back pocket. He sighed, his lips almost touching hers, and then moved over to her ear, whispering softly, “Rise and shine sweetheart…”

As he spoke, he gently ran a hand down the side of her face, not even paying attention to the fact that he was still healing. While most of the charred skin was healed, his left eye was still very much burned away, and he had horrible scarring for the time being on most of his body.

Annabeth

Annabeth slowed down her run to a slow walk as she heard Sam’s voice calling out to her. She stopped walking altogether and stood with her back to him, blood dripping from her hair and still running into her mouth as she gasped for air.

Turning, she couldn’t believe he was even there. It had to be a trick. It had to be a trick…

“Sam?! Stay back! Please!”, he called out to him. But the longer she watched him, and the wind hit his hair, she noticed he didn’t smell like a demon, which she was very acutely aware of at this point. He smelled like…Sam.

Taking off in a sprint, she closed the distance between them, falling onto her knees in front of him, as she felt safe enough with him to finally break from the trauma of what she had just done.

“I don’t want to hurt anyone…I don’t-…”, Her voice broke as she touched the pavement with her hands, leaning her head down to it near the side of the car, “I killed them all…”

Esme Stirling

For the first time in months, Esme’s dreams were nightmare free. Something had somehow held the things that normally plagued her dreams at bay. Maybe it was from how drained she became after becoming a demon nuke. She had slept through everything going on in the house, not hearing a thing. She didn’t even wake when Cason leaned over her with his face just inches from hers and stared at her. At Cason’s voice and touch, her eyes fluttered open and landed on Violet, who was still nuzzled under her hand. She blinked the sleep from her eyes as she breathed in deeply, soon regretting it when she felt how sore she still was.

She then felt someone leaning over her, not realizing it was Cason at the moment. She suddenly lifted her head to see who it was, banging her against his and hissing in pain. Pushing him back a bit, she pushed herself up and swung her feet off the couch, being careful not to kick Violet as she sat up. Holding her head with one hand, she looked over at Cason and winced a bit at his appearance. “Dude, you look like crap.” she said in a pain filled voice. She placed her other hand on her pounding head and leaned back into the couch, and closed her eyes.

She fell silent as her thoughts drifted to when she lost control of herself, and what had happened to the demons that were in the house. Then thought about Cason’s appearance and sighed heavily. “You just barely made it through the blast, didn’t you?” she mumbled. Moving her hand over a bit, she looked at him again. “How did you survive it?” As she waited for him to answer, she gently massaged her temples to try to lessen the pounding of her head.

MIKA CHAMBERS

She didn't want harper on about his death, but she couldn't help it and as much as she knew he was right, they always said protect the living, she just lost her mind when he died. The whole group did, granted she lost it a lot more than everyone else but that hour was fuelled with so many arguments, none of them were thinking clearly, not just her.

As he kissed her forehead, she closed her eyes savouring his kiss as she always did, lightly nodding as he told her he'd go insane if something happened to her. Those simple words putting her at ease over absolutely everything once again. "I know and i'm sorry. I tried protecting Sam and Annabeth, tried to get to the other as well when I was jumped. I swear, I tried to protect everyone else" she told him quietly and softly.

It was mostly true as well, she didn't just stand there but the moment she was put into a lockhold there was only something she could do before she got hit from behind and it wasn't like Sam tried coming out of the vault to help her even though Annabeth begged him to. She just wasn't going to tell Dean that as she knew that'd piss him off greatly.

"I'm just glad you're back now." she added as he kissed her knuckles as his version of a surrender. She didn't want to tell him that everyone in the room wanted to burn his body from the get go, she didn't need to give him the extra stress of the unsaid information. She also didn't want to think about how he'd be if it was her that died, knowing how he can get when she gets injured on a job.

She then lowered her hand in his and leaned forwrd kissing him, letting it linger to tell him that she accepted the white flag gesture and there was no need to dwell on what could have been much longer, before pulling away and looking him in the eyes. "I'll be okay when these painkillers kick in." she reassured him as best she could, resting her forehead against his.

NATALIA WINCHESTER

Nat felt bad when she saw Mika go to the kitchen clearly to get painkillers and none of them had done anything to truly see if she was okay. Sure, she checked if Mika was still alive but other than that, none of them even looked in Mika's direction because of their worry about Dean being dead, albeit temporarily and Annabeth choosing to go with the Angel.

She could see how Dean was being quite forceful with Mika to make her take the tablets and water, as well as doing what they all should have...make sure her concussion wasn't bad enough to need her being taken to hospital. It made her feel utterly disappointed in absolutely every single one of them in the room.

Yet the moment she saw the two lovebirds be close once again, she smiled to herself glad that they were still on good terms and not fighting....again. She also noticed how Cason couldn't resist but look at the two them but didn't fully understand why Cason would want to watch. Was he learning about the group? Wondering how they were still good? Or was he simply wondering how Dean was still alive and how Mika was? She just couldn't put her finger on it, but then took note of how he changed his attention to Esme again.

His attention and the way he was with Esme was curious to say the least. She could have sworn that Cason was almost taking notes from what he witnessed in the kitchen to know how to wake Esme up, and if that the case, then maybe Cason being smitten with Esme would keep any drama possibly from breaking out between Esme, Mika and Dean. Though she wasn't holding her breath for it.

SAM WINCHESTER

He watched Annabeth run to him, before slowing down then realising it was safe to sprint to him which she did. The moment she got to him, he watched as she fell onto her knees noticing how bad of a state she truly was and wondered what the hell happened. Did she kill Alistair?

He listened to her sob and confess about killing 'them all' which made him instantly kneel down in front of her and lift her head to look at him. "Them all?" he questioned, looking in her eyes and seeing the torment that she had. Her eyes didn't seem to have that strong bright blue hue anymore, but instead they were dull and scared.

He helped her up onto her feet and opened the back seat car door so she could just have all the room she needed to curl up in the back seat. "Lets get you back to Bobby's...you can tell me all about it then and get you cleaned up" he told her softly, even if he was freaking out in his mind at what happened to her, at what Alistair made her do. He was terrified FOR her, not of her.

This Alistair needed to be taken out....and fast. As well as any angel that was siding with him. They messed with Annabeth, killed his brother, almost killed someone he saw as a sister in law. It was now very very personal and he was done playing their games.

He got into the driver's seat when he was satisfied that Annabeth was safe in his car and drove as quickly as possible back to Bobby's which took him a matter of two minutes as he went a tad faster than the legal speed limit and was closer to Bobby's than he initially thought.

Dean Winchester

Dean had a small pang of guilt hit his stomach as he thought about her trying to protect everyone, after he stupidly ran at the demons with nothing other than a knife. He should have known better. He got himself killed, because she was another weakness, just as much as Sam.

He gave a small smile to her being happy he was back. It wasn’t as if he didn’t already know, but it was good to hear her say it. He was, however, curious about where the hell his brother was. He hadn’t heard a peep from Sam since he came to. He shook the thought from his head, as Mika kissed him, closing his eyes and bringing a hand to wrest on her cheek, gently.

As she pulled away, he pressed his forehead against hers, breathing deeply through his nose as he stared into her eyes, “You better be. I don’t want to have to kick your ass. And you still owe me for skipping out on our last night on earth…”

He laughed, kissing her again briefly as a knock at the door caused him to flinch, and gasp. He pulled back from her, “You stay here…”

Dean pulled away from her, quickly running to Bobby’s desk and grabbing the handgun Bobby kept there for safety. He knew that if it was a demon it would do no good, but he could at least slow them down. He stepped up to the door, carefully placing his hand on the doorknob, the gun pressed against the glass at chest level, and whipped it open.

What he saw on the other side of the door made his eyes go wide, taking a step back, and lowering the gun.

“Sam?!”, he asked, his eyebrows almost in his hairline as he stared at his brother, and Anna covered in blood.

Cason

Cason yelped and let out a groan at the impact of Esme’s forehead against his, falling over onto the couch as he assessed whether he was in for more healing time. He kept his arm wrapped around her waist until she pushed him back.

He shook his head, trying to get a sense of how hard she hit him, and then worried about her, more. He leaned forward, staring at her face, as she leaned back, “I’m fine. I didn’t hurt you, did I?”

Cason didn’t even expect an answer. He just wanted to ask, since he was the one that scared her, which was never his intention. He made a mental note to stop scaring her. It wasn’t romantic, and half the time it ended in one of them bleeding.

As she turned her gaze back to him, and asked about the situation earlier in the night, he simply nodded, gesturing to his almost regenerated eye. It was black, at the moment, but was doing its best to heal, along with the skin and hair of his eyebrow. He shook his head, reaching out to gently touch her hand that rested on her temple, working a tiny bit of his magic again, to hopefully help with the pain.

“I um…Sarah, actually. Sarah reacted, and realized she had to help one of us. Seeing as you were going to blow either way, she chose to save me.”, he explained, his face intently staring at her, showing the level of care he was being forced into. He then glanced over to Sarah, who was fast asleep at his feet, “She’s a good girl.”

At the sound of a knock at the door, Cason sat up a little straighter, still concentrating on Esme’s head while he watched Dean. His eyes turned black at the smell of demon blood, however, and he held his free hand out, “Dean stop! It’s a…”

His eyes turned to saucers as the door opened.

Annabeth

Annabeth flinched at Sam’s touch, nodding at his question of ‘all?’. As far as she knew, the angels had killed Alastair as soon as they took him. Why wouldn’t they? She could barely stand as he helped her up, her legs quivering under her weight from the amount of demon blood her body was craving. What little demon blood was running through Sam’s veins assaulted her nose the second she came close to his chest, taking a deep breath as her eyes flickered between blue and white.

She held onto him for dear life, though. She was so thankful to be safe with him, and she knew she was. She didn’t have to run ever again, unless she chose to. When he sat her down in the back seat, her hands came up, begging him not to leave her, even though she knew he had to in order to drive them.

“I’m dying…”, she whispered out of fear, as his heartbeat rang through her mind. Covering her ears, as if she could keep the sound out, she laid down in the back seat and curled into a ball, holding her shins tight to her stomach.

It didn’t seem long before they had rolled to a stop, Anna smelling Cason the second Sam opened his car door. She lay still, not knowing if she could walk on her own, and waited for Sam to come and help her.

As soon as she had stability to do so, she scooted out of the car, keeping her head down and her face buried in Sam’s side as he walked to the front door of the house and knocked. She heard Dean’s voice, but didn’t raise her head, until Cason’s scent hit her nose.

“Dean close the door. DEAN CLOSE THE DOOR!”, Cason suddenly screamed into what seemed like an echo chamber around her. She didn’t even realize she was growling against Sam’s side, her fingernails digging into Sam’s arm. Cason stood from Esme, and stepped back, falling onto the ground with a thud, scrambling to get away from her. Dean seemed confused, until she lunged, shoving Dean harshly against the wall and pounced on Cason, her eyes white and her teeth snarling, dipping down toward his neck…

Esme Stirling

Esme continued to look at Cason, watching the repairing process going on. As he reached over and helped with her pounding head, she sighed a little as she felt the pain subsiding. She closed her eyes briefly as he explained how he survived her explosion earlier and winced a bit at hearing Sarah got involved. When she opened her eyes, she saw the care he was feeling, then looked over at Sarah, a small smile coming to her lips as she watched her sleep. “Yes, she is.” she mumbled. She lowered her hands from her temples when the pain was at a more tolerable level.

About that time, there was a knock at the door. She couldn’t help but noticed how Cason reacted while still trying to take care of her head. Her attention stayed on Cason, watching his eyes turn black as she felt him become nervous. She felt it growing as Dean walked over to the door and opened it. Esme’s head snapped to the door, her eyes becoming saucers as her eyes landed on Annabeth. She then winced as Cason began screaming at Dean to shut the door, and could feel his emotions rising. Her eyes were still saucers as she looked at Annabeth as she began growling, which made her extremely confused.

That was, until Cason jumped up from the couch, stepped back and fell, then tried to scramble away. She was tempted to help Cason up, but when Annabeth lunged forwards and shoved Dean, her mind instantly shifted to Dean out of instinct. She ran over to Dean just as Annabeth pounced on Cason, dodging and jumping over debris that was in her path. When she reached his side, she placed a hand on his arm. “Hey, you alright?” she asked him, concern showing in her eyes and tone.
