T H E S T O R Y S O F A R... The Canis Series, funded by Veridian Technologies, was going to be the next step in crime prevention. A highly mobile one man army capable of detecting and terminating even Superhuman crimes completely autonomously, and with no risk to human life. The Canis series would've lived up to it's tagline "The Hero of Tomorrow". If Veridan Technologies had not decided to defund and refocus the project. Much to the chagrin and consternation of the engineering team, the canis project moved its focus away from combat programs and weapons development. The new focus of the project was to push Veridian Technologies' new Zero Point Energy Core and how safe and portable it was. The engineering team was furious when they found out that the project they had worked so hard on for so long was to be used as a backdrop for a clean energy initiative. It seemed that there was nothong to be done and that "The Hero of Tomorrow" would never come. A few months before the project was due to be shut down, however, the engineering team came together and decided to screw the corprate mandate and made the Machine of their dreams. They all understood that they'd most likely be fired and their hard work would be put in a warehouse at best, but it was the defiance that mattered at the time. The night before the unveiling of the new energy core a break in occured at Veridian Technologies' lab and The Canis series made headlines as Canis V stopped its very first crime, its own theft. Now with a very public debut of what was apparently a crime stopping robot, Veridian Technologies has put the project on ice until they can figure out what to do with Canis V. P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) Canis V completes its mandate with no hesitation or question. It completes it's missions to the best of its vast abilities every time. Lately, though Canis V has detected something... missing. Or maybe it was never there? Canis V seeks to understand the fullness of itself and others. It seeks, not directives and orders, but purpose and meaning, even if it doesnt know what those things are yet. |
