We will start at Wing Zero Academy - a school at the heart of the city, teaching their students all manner of education and development. Currently, the ongoing construction of Station 51 - also known as "persephone" where humans can move off-world. With the time for space travel imminent, Wing Zero Academy teaches its youth all manner of knowledge around astro-exploration, in addition to standard school curriculum. Wing Zero Academy has a dormitory, and you'll be a student living on-campus.

At the start of the game, you'll be at a local shopping center, where a sudden strange occurrence completely upends your destiny: the crash-landing of an alien space ship.

Although I don't want to give too much away as to the nature of this discovery, the small group of you who recover the craft and discover what's inside will be gifted a strange new ability: with the ability to transform into Sentai - a group of heroes destined to save the world from interplanetary threats.

The game will be told episodically, but all in the main in-character threads. We'll continue to expand the roster as we grow! For now, let's get a sense of your character, and the direction their story might go.

My DM-Style involves communication directly with the players outside of the game thread - the example I give is that you may log in to a message from me that says "Your character is aware of the following secret...." and it's up to you how you would like to utilize or not utilize the information provided. You might also get a message along the lines of "your character is periodically starting to get these strange headaches." All of this will be to help move the story along or move into different avenues.

As for the Sentai themselves, I am working on the "theme" of the team. For example, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers were Dinosaurs, Some other team was ninjas, another was wild animals, I'm planning on doing something sort of similar. How I'll dictate colors and themes and weapons will happen through the course of the game. For now: let's get a sense of you guys!

Personality: Nate is fun loving and more interested in learning by doing than by studying theory. Still he understands that good grades are important if he wants to achieve his dream and does try in school. He is calm under pressure and willing to take risks if needed but isn't too good with heights.

Short Biography: Nate's father, Dan Kelly under the pseudonym of Clem Khan is a semi-famous author, focusing on fiction set in the Age of Exploration. While Nate wasn't too interested in the books themselves he grew up with replicas and scale models of ships, temples, pyramids and maps which did catch his attention.

Name: Finley “Finn” Logan

Personality: Finn is a bright, cheerful person, with an optimistic view on life. He can often be found with a smile on his face, even when things look bleak. As such, he often makes jokes, and does silly things when the situation is tense to lift people's spirits, but his attempts to make people laugh sometimes gives others the impression that he doesn't take things seriously. Finn has no idea how to react if somebody accuses him of this, other than shrug his shoulders and move on. He believes there is some good in everyone, and for that, he is very trusting of others.

Finn is very energetic, some would say hyperactive even. So much so, that it is very difficult for him to sit still and concentrate on one thing for long periods of time. Because of this, he likes to actually do stuff, instead of sitting there reading about it. While he is able to think quick on his feet during intense situations. he often acts impulsively, and jumps to conclusions without thinking first.

A genuine nice guy, he is always willing to help someone in need. Often putting the needs of others ahead of his own. After his parents divorce, and dealing with bullying, Finn is able to empathize with others in a similar situation. He makes it his personal mission to befriend and help people like this. Sometimes though, he can be too nice, to the point of gullibility, and people often take advantage of him for it. Finn is very outgoing and social. He likes meeting new people, and making new friends. He is not afraid to strike up a conversation with a random stranger. He openly expresses affection through touching in the form of hugs, holding hands, as well as stroking and grabbing shoulders. Being used to having to watch over his little sister, he's become accustomed to taking care of people.

What do they want to be when they grow up?: He doesn’t know yet. Maybe a baker, maybe counseling LGBT kids, maybe figure out how to do the cheerleading thing professionally, he hasn’t decided yet.

Short Biography: Despite what Finn would tell you, Finn did not have the happiest of childhoods. After Finn’s little sister was born, the family started experiencing financial troubles after his father was laid off. The parents would often argue, and his father would often drown his sorrows with alcohol. Eventually, this would result in his parents divorcing. Finn lives with his mother and sister, and doesn’t see his father too often. The two have a strained relationship.

Things weren’t any better at school either. Finn didn’t really share many interests with other boys. He had more stereotypically feminine interests such as playing with Barbie dolls instead of Hot Wheels the otner boys were into. He was also a scrawny child, who wasn’t all that interested in sports. As such he was often called a sissy by other boys and bullied constantly. His father not so subtly reaffirmed the same sentiment. Implying that living with his mother and sister was turning him into a girl. Finn would sometimes cry in his bedroom at night.

Through all the drama, he tried to maintain a friendly upbeat demeanor in order to be a good example for his little sister. He had to care for her a lot when his parents were otherwise unavailable. Since he was the one that had to make dinner for the family, he developed an interest in cooking.

Eventually, a things changed when Finn’s mom got a job offer in a new city. This new city was also the home of the prestigious Wing Zero Academy. It was Finn’s chance to reinvent himself. New school, new people, new Finn.

Now a senior, Finn has undergone a glow-up in every sense of the word. He’s athletic (thanks to competitive cheerleading), openly gay, and socially magnetic. His genuine kindness and infectious energy earned him fast popularity at Wing Zero, where he’s now the captain of the school’s performance squad. He still loves cooking, especially for his dorm mates, and has a particular soft spot for helping out students who seem lonely or left out.

Though he’s not sure what career he wants after graduation, one thing Finn knows one thing: he wants to help people. Always.

Full Name: Solomon 'Sully' Price

Personality: Solomon Price is very much unlike his namesake, the wise King Solomon. He is selfish and self-centered, unable to see the benefits of teamwork. The young man lacks wisdom and stubbornly follows his own path and whims. He comes off as abrasive and often leaves others in the dust in pursuit of his own desires. Living by the motto of ‘act first, think later’, Sully takes problems and opportunities alike and runs with them, refusing to waste time on hesitation. This makes him a fast thinker, but also stubborn and hard-headed. However, there is some light to him. Sully is a person who exudes confidence, standing by the decisions he makes with unwavering commitment. He is a staunch defender of whatever cause or person he attaches himself to. Having Sully in your corner is having a loyal ride or die ally who will stick by you in the thick of it. His persistence is strong and he will try every avenue possible in solving an issue until he’s physically unable to continue. Unfortunately, for the moment, his focus is solely on shallow, glory-seeking efforts. If only there was some cause bigger than himself to get involved in…

What do they want to be when they grow up?: Sully wants to be a famous racer. Ever since he was a young child, he’s always had a passion for vehicles of any kind. Sometimes he wants to race cars professionally, other times he wants to race motorbikes. It depends on what day you ask him.

Short Biography: Solomon Price was born the only child of Lance and Nicole Price. Lance is a professional racer whose career led to extended periods of absence from the family. However, he was a loving husband and father who took every opportunity he had to be with his family during the off-season. Lance and Sully would spend time at the tracks spectating races and occasionally looking over cars at home. It was from his childhood that Sully would develop an affinity for all things automotive. And it was watching his father competing and earning the praise of thousands that cemented Sully's dream to become a world-famous racer himself. However, such ambition came with the addition of an ego the size of the ocean. As soon as he was old enough to operate a vehicle with a motor, the adrenaline junkie was hooked. When not attending school (or finding ways to avoid attending school), Sully can be found on his dirt bike, zipping and zooming through the streets of the city. Although he lives on-campus while attending Wing Zero Academy, his house is close enough that he can pop in on weekends and tweak his dirt bike.

As long as you folks are cool with it, I'll play the opening a little close to the chest for now! I appreciate you guys jumping in without 100% certainty which ranger you may end up as, or what your team's theme might be - so thanks for being patient. I think it will kinda be cool to discover things as you go along, not unlike a dungeons and dragons campaign.

Gotcha! I'll probably have a WIP sent sometime today and get it edited up into a full character sheet in the next day or two. Be prepared for one... indecisive teenager. So, a very normal one, I guess.

Also, where do people go for their image refs these days? I've been out of this side of the RP scene for a hot minute and have found Google images to be less and less useful by the day. (unless I'm just using it wrong, idk)
