GMPC:
Cecilia Castoria
Description: Cecilia stands at an average height of 165cm (or 5'5") tall, having a healthy and shiny caramel skin tone, bright yellow eyes, along with long and blonde hair. She's got a curvaceous figure.
17 | Female | High School Student
Personality:
As a person, Cecilia is a fairly typical young girl. She enjoys being pretty and stylish, worries about her figure and weight, browses social media to an unhealthy degree and enjoys gossiping and hanging out with friends or classmates after school. She likes junkfood but feels guilty after eating it, listens to all the latest pop idols/bands and tries to keep up with all the latest trends and fashion. Really, she's the cardboard cut-out of your stereotyppical high school teenage girl that you could find anywhere. Well, for the most part anyway.
Aside from her categorization as a vapid valley girl, Cecilia is actually a really sweet and kind-hearted girl. She takes time out of her day to help others, like if she sees an elderly woman trying to cross the street, she'll offer to help. If she finds a lost child crying, she'll stay with them and look for their parents. She's got a gentle heart and caring nature towards her fellow humans. She also gets flustered and shy whenever she's praised or thanked, and gets all awkward and doesn't really know what to do. C.C. is also fairly open-minded and tries not to judge others or their hobbies and intrests (though it does still hapen), and is for the most part at least tolerant and accepting of people with different tastes or thoughts than herself. Mostly.
As a heor though, Cecilia is less pleasant, at least to devil-doers. She's got a strong sense of right and wrong and doesn't take kindly to seeing others inflict pain or villainy upon the innocent. Towards those who've chosen to go down the path of a criminal, C.C. has very little patience and even less empathy, and will summarily do whatever she can to stop such people from 'getting away with it', as it were. She still retains her same traits of caring and compassion for regular people though, and will prioritizie others safety and well-being over stopping criminals, and even her own health. She's the self-sacriifcing type and has a strong conviction to use her powers for others and for good, and not for herself or any selfish motivations she may have. Still awkward and shy when praised or thanked though. Blushy cheeks and all.
Background:
Cecilia is the only child of Stewart and Pamela Castoria. At a young age, she was doted upon and cared for wiht great love and care by her parents, who also made sure to instill into their daughter the importance of moral values and the importance of right and wrong. Stewart was a cameraman and Pamela was an on-field news reporter, so the two worked closely with one another even outside of the domestic confines of the family's home. They weren't absurdly rich or wealthy, but not poor or anything either. A fairly typical, middle-class family that got along well and had a, for the most part, pleasant life together.
That all changed some 7 years ago, when she and her parents were visiting a Resarch Facility over on the outskirts of paragon City. The family had been unable to find a babysitter, but given how well-behaved Cecilia was, the pair figured they could bring her along on their joint assignment, so long as she promised to be good. And she did. The facility was a, at the time, state-of-the-art location with high-tech machines and science and all manner of cool and exciting things. Her parents were there to do an interview with one of the lead scientists, who was apparently working on some new form of energy or somehting. The details are a bit unclear and C.C: honestly doesn't remember things all that well.
Reason being that, sometime during their visit, there was an accident. Something in the facility broke or got loose or was unsealed or something. Regardless of what exactly happened, an alarm was sounded to evacuate the place. Unfortunately, the Castoria family and lead scientists were in the very core of the structure at the time, and they just couldn't make it out in time, before a strange, blue-green gas of some sort covered everything and slowly choked them all. C.C. doesn't remember anything after that for a good long while, ony that she eventually woke up in a hospital bed, dazed and confused. She asked where her mom and dad were, but the nurses and doctors only shook their heads and apologized. Apart from her, nobody else caught in the gaseous cloud had survived.
The news and realization was devastatinga nd the girl became incredibly distressed and depressed. Fortunately, her aunt was - on her father's side - was notified and quickly came to Paragon City to take the orphaned girl in. But it was a tough year, a very tough one. Her aunt, Laura, didn't have any kids of her own and wasn't exactly what you'd call prime mother-material. She wasn't a good cook or very competent at chores... She wasn't sure how to cheer her niece up or what to say or do. But she tried. ANd Cecilia knew she did. So even if things were hard, and sometimes strange or didn't always turn out great, the two slowly built a mutual relationship of fondness for one another.
Stranger still was the fact that, about a year after the accident, a news program revvelaed that the disaster at the lab hadn't been an accident, but an intended act of sabotage. When this was brought to light, it's very understanable to see why Cecilia was upset. So upset, in fact that... Somehow... For some reason... She managed to manifest some kind of wierd, force-related power... Which did a number on their home. Initially frightened, and freaking her aunt out, Cecilia wasn't sure what to do or how to or where to... But, as with everything, time and patience, and love and nurturing support, found a way.
Having suffered from tremendous survivor's guilt after the incident, and now having been given powers - most likely by the very same gas that killed her parents - it became clear to the young girl. Bad people had caused the deaht of her family, and had caused her to gain these strange new powers... Then it was only right that she use these powers to pay them back, and anyone else who ever throught of doing something bad. Initially reluctant to let the girl put herself in danger, Aunt Laura eventually agreed to let C.C. take the SHE once she was old enough, provided she could prove that she'd gained control over her newly awakened powers and that she was in suitably fit condition to do all that running and jumping around.
Thus, after entering high school, Cecilia joined the Track and Field club to help keep herself inshape. She also took extra care to enver skip out on or miss gym class. Her other studies were... Mediocre... But, hey, at least she wasn't failing anything. And so, a year passed, the girl trained and practiced her ability after school, whenever she had some time to herself, away from friends and chores and homework. Practice makes perfect. And thus came the day, where she finally took the Hero Exam, passed and has now just received the letter of success. The time has come.

Description: Stella is 5'3" (160 cm), with light skin, dark shoulder length hair, and brown eyes. She has a slim and svelte figure, with lightly toned muscles.
19 | Female | College Student
Personality:
Stella is driven by an insatiable curiosity and hunger for knowledge, finding interest in many things others might think are boring or pointless. Where her fellow heroes are concerned, she loves to hear their stories, the details of how they acquired their powers, their motivations to do what they do. She is not quick to judgement, even where the villainous are concerned, and tries to see the best in people. Violence is not a first choice of hers, but when it needs to be employed, Stella tries to be swift and decisive.
She has the heart, empathy, and kindness she needs to be a good hero in Paragon City, as well as a determination and fearlessness that will help her overcome villains, and the barriers her own family have put in front of her. As she's still a teenager, she is prone to impatience, sometimes feeling like she's ready for greater things, or being held back, which can sometimes make her reckless or impetuous, but her heart is almost always in the right place.
Outside of hero work Stella is very easy to get along with, always ready to lend a hand or an ear. She's not wildly outgoing, and due to the frequent training of her teenage years she missed out on a lot that other kids got to do, making her maybe a little bit naive, but she's also a quick learner, and adapts pretty well to whatever environment she finds herself in.
Background:
Stella Noemi Kennedy is the only child of one James Kennedy, a former assistant to the Ambassador to Japan, and Hanako Mori, whom he met while working in Tokyo. As James described it, they had a whirlwind romance that led to Hanako wishing to leave Japan behind and see the world with him, a decision that was unlikely to go over well with her wealthy family. Less than a year after leaving Japan behind, Stella was born.
Her childhood was more or less idyllic, growing up with means just outside of Washington D.C., her father continuing his political career while her mother largely stayed home to raise her. When she turned seven, however, tragedy struck the family, as Hanako was killed in a car accident, leaving Stella with only vague memories of her as she grew older. James grew withdrawn for a time, his career plateauing, and he struggled to raise Stella alone.
When she was thirteen, Stella began to grow more and more curious about her mother and her past, and the entire half of her extended family she never got to meet. This coincided with James beginning to move on, and entering into new relationships. Digging though her mother's old things, Stella found a locked suitcase and pilfered it for her own. She'd taught herself to pick locks, and managed to pry it open, finding a mysterious treasure trove of her mother's history, from the time before she ever met James.
In the suitcase was a strange bodysuit, a mask, a pair of ornate bladed fans, and a journal full of entries all written in a bizarre script that wasn't Japanese or any other written language that Stella could identify. The last message was in English, however:
Follow your heart and stay true to yourself. Nothing can stand in your way. I believe in you.
Her mother had been some kind of superhero? Stella had more questions than ever. Did she know her daughter would find this eventually? Why did she leave her old life behind? To answer these, Stella knew she had to seek out her mother's family. But she didn't know where to start, and her father knew frustratingly little about Hanako's past. Stella kept what she'd learned to herself, feeling bitter towards her father at that time for leaving the memory of her mother behind.
It was only a matter of time until Stella tried to follow in what she believed were her mother's footsteps. At fifteen, she donned the suit, finding it fit her strangely well, masked her face, and took up her mother's weapons, setting out into the night to fight crime. It went about as well as one would expect, nearly getting herself killed when she tried to break up a gas station robbery. She would've been shot if not for the timely intervention of another masked man.
Mori Kenta, he was called, and Stella picked up on the name immediately. He'd been watching her, or watching over her, though he refused to say for how long. He was her mother's brother, and thus he immediately became Uncle Kenta to Stella. Grumpy and aloof, he'd apparently been given the "honor" of bringing Stella into the fold of the Mori clan.
They belonged to an ancient bloodline of mystical warriors dedicated to protecting the world from yokai, demons, and those that sought to summon them and other magical evils. Stella asked countless questions, but only learned that through meditation and many secret techniques, anyone of the Mori bloodline could activate powerful abilities to cut down any yokai, and shield themselves from all manner of magical tricks. Had Stella not discovered the truth, she would've been "allowed" to live a normal life, but now that she'd taken up her mother's blades, she needed to be taught to use them.
That proved difficult. Had Stella been born in Tokyo with the other Mori she would've been taught from early childhood. Instead she was a fifteen year old who didn't even know the very basics of their ways, and finding "inner harmony" was extremely challenging for a girl in such a tumultuous period of her life. Kenta proved a tough master, uncompromising in Stella's physical and mental training, and like a brick wall whenever she asked questions she wasn't allowed to know the answers to yet, about the clan or her mother. One of the few things he did tell her was that her mother had been known as "Butterfly" among the clan. Stella decided to take the name up for herself.
Four years later, Stella finds herself headed for Paragon City alone, having learned the basics of her clan's ways from Uncle Kenta. Apparently the leader of the Mori clan, known to her only as "the Daimyo," found her progress insufficient. Kenta warned that Stella would be treated as an outsider by her people, not worthy of their knowledge, until she can prove herself on her own. How exactly she must "prove" herself remains a mystery to her, but in the meantime Stella intends to do all the good she can in Paragon City. She gained acceptance to Paragon City University to study history, which is all that her father believes she's there to do. She hopes to learn about her family history, or the history of the demonic forces they fight, when she isn't on the street battling villains.
After taking and passing the Hero Exam, Stella is ready to find her destiny, and unravel the secrets of her family's past.

Magic | Infiltrator | Level 1 | MAGI
Superpowers:
Wind Manipulation: Through her fans and her own inner focus, Stella is able to shape the air around her for offensive and defensive purposes, to complement her own martial training.
Magical Resistance: Meditative techniques passed down through generations of her ancestors allow Stella some resistance against any attacks or effects of a magical or otherworldly nature. She only has access to the most basic secrets of her clan, however, and needs to prove herself worthy before the more powerful techniques will be made available to her.
Weakness: She has barely any advantages over a Natural hero, so fists, knives, bullets, and mundane forces can all hurt her as much as any other person, and she needs to rely on stealth, speed, and teamwork if possible in combat. It's only against magical beings and powers that she is unnaturally resistant.
Supplementary Powers:
Inner Harmony: By beginning the process of achieving inner harmony, Stella has just begun to unlock the hidden power of her bloodline. At the moment, all this means is she's slightly stronger, faster, and quicker to heal than a normal human of her size and build should be.
Name: Wind Slash Type: Active Rank: ★ Range: Ranged Description: A vertical slice of her fans hardens the air into a sword-length blade, which is launched forward at high speed. Very dangerous at close ranges, but dissipates harmlessly after it travels about 15 meters. --- Name: Wings of a Butterfly Type: Active Rank: ★ Range: Melee Description: Stella uses her fans to launch herself into the air about 10 meters high, potentially in a direction of her choosing. The launch creates a small burst of air around her strong enough to knock back or knock down a normal person standing within a few steps. She travels in a graceful arc, with a smooth landing. Useful for an escape when Stella's surrounded or hurt, or to quickly jump to places normally out of reach. --- Name: Huntress of the Arcane Type: Passive Rank: ★ Range: Self Description: Stella can sense the presence of magical beings or items within a 30 meter radius, but not their exact location (so something invisible or disguised could still hide from her).

He likes to believe that everyone is ultimately good, and always gives people the benefit of the doubt. However, he can be quick to trust the wrong people because of his optimism. He rarely ever gets mad at others. Even if he does get mad, he gets over it very quickly. He openly expresses affection through touching in the form of hugs, holding hands, as well as stroking and grabbing shoulders.
He is easily exciteable and hyperactive. It is difficult to get him to sit still and focus on a single subject for too long before he gets bored and move on to the next thing. While he is able to think quick on his feet during intense situations. he often acts impulsively, and jumps to conclusions without thinking first. Even in conversations, he tends to go off on tangents. He is also quick to apologize for anything he regrets doing, even if he hasn't done anything wrong. His parents punished him harshly for any little mistake, so he is constantly concerned about displeasing others.
He is both a pop star and superhero in order to bring joy and happiness for others. He also enjoyed the attention and fame being a superhero brings. After he left the institute, he became an actor for the purposes of getting attention and fame. Cameron knows he is adorable, and he does use it to his advantage if he knows if it will benefit him somehow. He’ll use his cheery personality, and childish behaviors to manipulate others. He’ll play dumb, and act like he doesn’t understand the other person’s request, to avoid rejection, or just get out of situation he doesn’t like. He is also very good at acting, and knows how to say just the right things to get what he wants, or just to get attention when he feels lonely.
Cameron has a passion for cute and pretty things. Most of his possessions are pink, he has a collection of plush toys and fashion dolls, and has many other childish interests. So many people have a problem with an adult man liking such things, but Cam does not care. Due to his upbringing, he missed out on his childhood, so now he's making up for lost time. He loves every kind of sweets and desserts. Ultimately, Cameron not only wants to be happy himself, but also to make others happy.
Background:
Cameron was born to Movie Star Luana Mason. She had an affair with another actor, and only kept the child for the publicity. For a while, Cameron was raised by nannies hired by his mother. As Luana got older, she became less relevant and lost out on roles to younger actresses. She turned her attention to her son. If she couldn’t be in the spotlight anymore, then she would make her son a star, and live the glamorous lifestyle of a celebrity through him.
So, when Cameron turned 5, he was put through all kinds of lessons. Singing lessons, dance lessons, acting lessons, and he was still homeschooled to get a normal education. Cameron didn’t understand what all this was for, but went along with it to please his mother, and he believed she had good intentions. Besides, Cameron did enjoy some of the lessons his mother put him in. He liked singing and dancing, and it was discovered that he had a beautiful singing voice.
When he was 12, Cameron discovered what all these lessons were for. He was entered into talent shows, and taken to various recording studios where he was made to sing and perform for people. He soon got himself a record deal. He soon launched to the top of the Pop Charts with his hit single “Love is Like a Gummy Bear.” All of a sudden, Cameron was a bona fide Pop Star, and his stage mom was his manager.
After this, Cameron’s life became much more hectic. He was recording songs, doing concerts, and all the things that Pop Stars do. His had a tight and brutal schedule. His mother loved it, and she lived a glamorous lifestyle on Cameron’s money. She also became much more strict with him. He would be punished for the slightest slip up (sometimes beaten.) Despite the harshness, Cameron found himself enjoying being a Pop Star. It gave him a sense of purpose. To bring joy into people’s lives. Cameron had a number of fans. On the days when things were difficult, he had to remind himself that he was making people happy. He also enjoyed all the fame and attention he got from being a Pop Star. Whenever he was paraded out in public, Cam was the one front in center, the center of attention. He was always willing to interact with fans and pose for pictures when his mother allowed it.
Things changed when he turned 18. While he loved being a Pop Star, he could see that his momager wasn’t a nice lady. He was spending his money, and frankly he wanted a little more freedom. So, he fired her. There was a lot of drama, and lawsuits involved, but Cameron came out ok in the end. He got a brand new manager who was actually a decent human being, and Cameron now had room to breathe a little.
To celebrate, Cameron put on a major concert. Everything was going well, but several things happened to make the concert end early. There was an explosion at the laboratory that was near the concert venue Cameron was performing. This caused a strange blue mist to spread all over the area. As everyone was trying to evacuate, Cameron was unfortunately struck by lightning, and had to be put in the hospital.
Months later, Cameron woke up from a coma and was released from the hospital. Fortunately for him he was able to resume his Pop Star career. He got a ton of publicity from the incident. He would soon came to discover that he had Super Speed abilities. Now he tries to balance Pop Stardom, with being a superhero. Cameron fights crime and disasters while bringing joy and positivity to Paragon City, even if he’s a little lost whenever the scientists start explaining things.

Lorie is the type of person who enjoys the creature comforts of her comfortable room. She finds it hard to make friends IRL so all her friends are online that she gained through playing MMORPGs and participating in public community forums about anime, games, and all other nerdy matters. She's passionate about the things she likes and she will defend a topic with her life. She can spend the entire day inside her room whenever she can, though she likes to keep herself clean and tidy unlike other shut-ins. When she goes out, it's only for conventions and events for the stuff she's interested in.
While she's energetic and outgoing online, Lorie's meek and quiet IRL. Believe her, she's tried making friends at her school, at the park, at the mall, but they're always so judgmental about how she's gained weight despite being in a physically active family and how her parents must be disappointed in her for being a geek instead of being cool like them. That's why she prefers to be a wallflower in public occassions: standing on one corner of the room while occasionally looking up from her phone constantly glued to her hand. She's learned to not care about what other people say about her. Life's too short for that after all!
Despite that, Lorie is a kind young woman with a heart of gold. She'll give someone a bandaid or a candy if she sees they're hurt or unwell, but she's not the type to take credit for helping. She doesn't need all that validation; Lorie is the type that gets the job done as quickly and efficiently as she could while still being unapologetically herself.
Background:
Lorelei was born into a normal human family that had a passion for physical fitness. Her family members excelled in their chosen lanes: her dad was a famous wrestler and dietician, her mom was a sports medicine physician for international sports teams, her big brother was a silver medalist Olympian turned coach, and her little brother was already the youngest black belter in the world at the age of 5. As for Lorie, she was never really that physically good compared to the rest of her family. She failed in any sports and physical activities she did, but at least she could keep up with them with their weekly family jogging.
She had an uncle as well, her dad's twin brother who's a tech professor at a university. Although their faces may look the same, her dad had a much bulkier build than her thin-bodied uncle. Their personalities were vastly different as well, they're always butting heads about anything and everything. When their uncle came to babysit them, he lent them his gaming console which Lorie was completely fell in love with. Eventually, her love for gaming naturally lead to her gaining a similar interest to anime, and soon to coding and technology as well. Her dad and uncle argued, in the comical sense, but seeing how passionate Lorie was in this field and how happy she was compared to her trying to do sports and activities, they decided to set their differences aside for her sake.
For her major project, she was inspired by her favorite anime and her family's love for physical fitness and decided to combine them. With the help of her family, she was able to create three devices. First was a visor that could scan a person's general biometrics at a glance like their body temperature, blood type, allergies, etc. Next was a pair of boots that can collect kinetic energy and give them a big jumping boost for movement and flexibility. Finally, she created a staff that where she could recalibrate wavelengths of light to heal wounds and injuries. The purpose of these devices was to improve the person's ability to perform physical activities in and out of sports while gaining insights on their mental and physical wellbeing. Unbeknownst to her, her little brother mistook the staff for a toy and messed with it, accidentally reconfiguring the staff and making it able to create solid structures made of light. Lorie was able to retain the staff's new feature, and she simply reenvisioned the designs of the devices for cosplay purposes. Cute and functional, as she would say.
Her big brother suggested to test them on a team he's been coaching and review the results. However, a series of misfortunate events happened that lead to a few accidents and injuries for them team. Lorie wasted no time using her visor to assess the patient's status and recalibrating her staff based on the degree of their injury to better heal them, while she used her boots to quickly go from one patient to another. While they still needed to go to the hospital to recover fully, it was thanks to Lorie's tech and her passion for helping that she saved them from sustaining major injuries.
After what happened, he talked to her parents and uncle and then talked to Lorelei about using her talents for good. They saw how much time and effort she poured into her projects and the way she immediately jumped into the action and help those people was a trait that a natural hero possessed. Her parents were still very proud that Lorie had managed to blend her family's dreams for her with her own hobbies and talents, they and encouraged her to give the Sanctioned Hero Exams a try. Lorie was against it at first but seeing how supportive her family was plus given the prospect of becoming her favorite anime/game character IRL, she took that chance.
Now that she passed the exams, being a hero was definitely like cosplaying as a character in a video game but with a few caveats. Stakes were definitely higher, consequences of one's actions were graver, and there were no do-overs; she only got one shot to do everything right. On the brighter side, she's used to playing games in the hardest difficulty.
Civilian Skills:
She's more athletic than the normal citizen, and her knowledge about anime and gaming is through the roof. She also knows how many calories each food contain give or take. Perks of being a daughter of fitness enthusiasts.

Description: Standing at about 5'7", the most notable part of Alain is his long hair. While it is naturally black in colour, the manifestation of his mutant heritage causes some of it to gradually pale to an unnatural white, with a glacial texture. His eyes are also a stark white, for the same reasons. Alain usually tends to dress in white or other pale colours to match with the theme of his hair, as well as to reduce the amount of heat he'd receive. It's also quite common to see him wearing summer clothes during the winter months.
Age 19 | Gender: Male | College Student
Personality:
Alain is the type of person who would have a caustic or sarcastic response for every situation, but holds it back to avoid hurting people. He is a weary and bitter individual, who holds a nigh-certainty that life is not fair. But, he is also a kind individual, one who believes life's unfairness is yet another reason to aid those in need and be a good person. Almost the embodiment of the phrase "Prepare for the worst, but hope for the best". This dichotomy can make it a tad difficult for one to get a grip on his personality; he could claim it pointless to perform a temporary fix as the problem would remain unsolved, and then do it anyway under the belief that someone should do so as it would still help people.
As a hero, Alain attempts to replicate some of his father's approachable cape demeanor, along with his mother's propensity for ice puns; but with his own spin on it. He comes off as a bit of the silent, stoic type of superhero; but one more approachable than most, with quips and one-liners that do come relatively often.
As a person, Alain is a friendly and polite individual. The kind who'd hold the door open for people without being asked to do so. He has a knack for social interaction and can get along well with a variety of people. This makes him tend to come off as a nice young lad. He does however reserve his more bitter or rude commentary for the presence of people he gets along with or feels more comfortable with. Though rarely he may make such a comment publicly.
Background:
Grandson of the (deceased) famous ice-themed superhero Madam Frost, middle child of Lady Hailstorm and The Iceberg, and related to many more ice-themed heroes; Alain always felt as though there was a legacy he should live up to. It wasn't ever forced upon him, nor did anyone ever imply anything to that nature. However, one did not simply grow up, in Paragon City, surrounded by a family of heroes, without developing a dream to do the same. A dream, to help those in need, be a voice for the voiceless and maybe even save the day.
Unfortunately, Alain did not inherit his famous grandmother's knack for ice tech, nor did he possess the gift of magic like his younger sibling or any other such talent. His only claim to superpowers, as it were, was inheriting a form of his father's mutant powers. Doubly-breaking his dream was that the powers in question were seemingly very weak. Being able to throw a handful of snow at someone or make a few icicles did not make one a superhero after all. With the drawbacks of extreme heat vulnerability limiting his ability to go outside in the summer months and his usually coloured eyes and hair marking him as an obvious mutant, his opinion was that his powers were more trouble than they were worth.
The final death knell to his dream, as it were, was that he did not have quite the level of drive or unhealthy determination to make it as a power-less hero. No matter how hard he tried, Alain was simply unable to keep up with the physical requirements to swing from rooftops, beat up a room full of gangsters or pinpoint a bullseye from 1200 meters. He couldn't quite make the cut.
So instead, Alain resolved himself to a comparatively mundane life. He got enrolled in a local college, joined a debate team, volunteered at a few charitable organizations and even managed to score himself a position at PROC. ...as an administrative assistant, on a part-time basis. It was not the most glamourous position in the world, but the pay was good and he felt as though it was the closest he could get to heroics. Alain was mildly satisfied with his life as it was; good friends, a cherished family and a decent job. But, deep down inside, he still wanted to do more, to be a hero, like the rest of his family was.
So naturally that would be the point when he got kidnapped by a shadow demon.
Well, kidnapping is perhaps not a completely accurate term. However, when a supervillain suddenly drops someone through a portal to the Arctic Circle; the act is best defined as a kidnapping. For you see, one of his sister's archnemeses, an ancient creature of darkness, evil, and other such things had been looking for ways to harm her. In this process, the fiend had discovered Alain, and through the use of magic, learned of the true scope of the lad's power. The shadow demon figured that the man's bitterness, latent envy, occasionally caustic demeanor and drive to be more than he is could make an excellent supervillain. So, the ancient horror decided to attempt to recruit Alain, dropping the lad through a portal to the arctic, and made him the offer of a lifetime.
Alain refused it immediately, for he was not that kind of person. While it is true that he was a tad bitter about his circumstances and mildly envious of his familial peers; these sentiments were born of his own desire to help people, like a hero could.
The first thing he did with this discovery was flash-freeze the villain; thanks to the frigid climate of the Arctic Circle severely amplifying his powers and the element of surprise. The second thing he did was run like hell and trigger the emergency communicator he was told to always keep with him in case of a supervillain (as some supervillains may tend to go after the family of a hero). Thanks to his quick thinking, the villain was easily apprehended without much delay.
This new realization of what he was capable of, coupled with the gentle encouragement of his family, galvanized Alain. He studied, trained and, eventually, took the S.H.E, managing to pass it and become a registered hero. Alain isn't too sure how to feel about this. He had given up on the idea of being a superhero years ago, thinking it impossible, and now he had done it. But there is one thing he does know:
At long last, he had achieved his old dream. And so far, it has been exactly what he had hoped it would be.

(Image Pending) Alain wears a gray-white costume, climate controlled to keep its wearer from heating up. It is more of a plain bodysuit in appearance, with a few intersecting geometrical lines to add some variety and to avoid any correlation or resemblance to the hero costumes used by his family. The costume also contains some light armoured plates placed in a way to avoid impeding his movement. Alain also wears a head-concealing helmet, as a safety precaution to avoid being identified and to avoid concussions.
Mutant | Controller | Level 1 | ELITE
Superpowers:
Primary Power: Escalating Cryokinesis: A form of cold/ice generation and manipulation that increases in power and control within lower temperatures and with the presence of ice & snow. On an average summer's day, Alain could only generate a small nigh-harmless puff of snow and lower the temperature of the nearby area by a few degrees; however the presence of that lower temperature and generated snow would allow him to perform a stronger use of his ice powers, which would further cool the area, and so on and so forth. Due to logistical, collateral damage and practical concerns, an upper limit to his growth has not been tested; however it is theorized that it could involve physiological changes and allow access to thematic secondary powers. As a necessary biological requirement to use his powers safely, Alain is also immune to the detrimental effects of cold.
Secondary Power: Social Knack: Not a real superpower but more of a honed and trained skill that would be relevant in the act of superheroism. Alain is very good with people, at interaction, comprehension and prediction.
Weakness: As mentioned, it takes time and good conditions for Alain's powers to do much of anything; let alone grow to his potentially monstrous heights. Attacking him fast and hard before he has the time to scale up will leave him in a mostly-defenseless position. Plus, the warmer the area he is fighting is, the more he'll need to build up before being capable of doing anything. Additionally, any way to generate heat could be used to slow, stall, or possibly even revert the growth of his winter storm. (examples of this include; the use of a flamethrower, fire powers or a large combustion engine of some kind of giant car.) Lastly, Alain is also more vulnerable to heat than the average person. While he can attempt to mitigate this with his ice powers, it remains a fairly notable weakness that can get in the way of his day-to-day activities.
Supplementary Powers:
None at the present moment.
Name: Thermal Depletion Type: Active Rank: ★ Range: Ranged Description: Alain designates an area and lowers the temperature within it. The lower the temperature of the area in question, the easier and faster it is for him to cool it further. --- Name: Frost Generation Type: Active Rank: ★ Range: Melee/Ranged Description: Alain can create ice and snow from his body or from any sufficiently cold object that he can then move around. By default, this is a hand-and-a-half-full of snow or a couple three foot icicles; but as with all of his techniques it scales up. In a sufficiently cold environment he could use it to generate and manipulate wire-like ice constructs to trap and tie up opponents. Immediately encasing someone in ice, however, would require an extremely cold environment and is not presently feasible outside of niche situations. --- Name: Cold Detection Type: Passive Rank: ★ Range: Ranged Description: Alain can sense the presence of any sufficiently cold object or person around him, in a range that grows depending on how cold the object/person is. A maximum temperature of 0 degrees Celsius is required for him to sense something. Alain primarily uses this to sense the location of his own frigid constructs, thus allowing him to use the position and movements upon his snow to detect motion and tag opponents.
Description: Dermont stands at a solid six feet (183cm) and a hefty 254lbs (113kg). He is a somewhat husky young man with a paunchy gut but with an otherwise strong build, with visible muscle on his arms and legs.
His skin is pale and pocked with the occasional pimple. His hair is an auburn brown and reaches just past his shoulders. His eyes are brown and somewhat beady. His face is angular with a strong jawline, which is kept well-shaven. Unlike the rest of his body.
Age 22 | Gender: Male | Occupation unemployed nerd
Personality:
A down-to-earth young man, Dermont is generally speaking soft-spoken and shy. He thinks very little of himself, and it shows in his personality: timid around others, humble and patient in the face of adversity. He would much rather endure his issues rather than face them. He asks very little of others, which many might see as selfless, but in truth, it all goes back to his lack of confidence. He sees others as simply more important and more likely to do something with their lives. In his eyes, he is just an unemployed nobody nerd without a care in the world.
While he might be a bit rough around the edges, mostly lacking etiquette and tact, Dermont is otherwise a very kind person. He is patient with people and slow to anger, and empathetic to even those who seem actively evil. Despite putting himself into danger, he is shockingly light-hearted about things. He uses comedy as a defense mechanism and a way to cut the tension. Quips are a particular favorite of his.
Background:
A kid who grew up bullied for his name, unnoticed for his looks, and generally a complete nobody all his life. With the real world being so harsh, he turned to the fantastical, enjoying reading and movies while other kids played outside. During his first year of college, he saw a flyer for a LARP group and eagerly joined. There, he met his only true friend, a man in his late thirties who began teaching him how to play a 'Warrior'. Strange as it was, LARP became Dermont's favorite thing, and so he threw himself into the hobby. He began reading old sword-fighting manuscripts, practicing daily, and demolishing the competition.
It was during a huge LARPing event that his life changed drastically. While scouting deep into the woods to try to find a way to flank the opponents in tomorrow's 'battle', Dermont stumbled upon an enchanted grove. Sitting on a bizarre stone altar was a glowing sword. Mistaking it for the 'loot' scattered across the area, Dermont moved closer to inspect the weapon. When he touched it, the weapon spoke to him, proclaiming that Dermont was one of the greatest swordsmen of the time and the only one with a heart pure enough to be worthy. Dermont accepted the responsibility and so he was clad in new armor.
At first, Dermont was eager to accept his new weapon. He showed it to his fellow LARPers and to his surprise the weapon seemed pleased by them. These were the warriors who had trained him, and it gave thanks. Their time in the game together quickly showed Dermont that the sword meant business. When the orc cosplayers showed up it acted as though he should slaughter his friends, struggling to understand that this was all ficticous.
Once he brought the sword home, the shock hit Nothung. Dermont was content to lounge in his family home, eating pizza and watching reruns. Instead Nothung gave him an ultimatum. Do as he says or be rid of it's divine power. Dermont was put on an intensive training regiment, but his constant junk food consumption and years of doughiness did not diminish in mere months. Eventually he was instead told to go to Paragon city, expected to join the ranks. As eager as Dermont was, he had to admit that he did not feel ready. He was once again told that it was either this, or lose the sword entirely.
His family tried to stop him, but once Dermont showed them the true power of his sword, they relented. It was his responsibility to wield this great power. Dermont was an adult now, and they could not stop him from making this decision, despite how sad it made them.

Valiant
Origin magical | Archetype Tanker| Level 1 | Group MAGI
Superpowers:
Primary Power: Holy Arsenal: Nothung the Dragonslayer, a magical and ancient source of power. It is a sentient weapon imbued with a purely good essence. Though its personality may have become jaded it's powers are virtually the same. Grant a user with a set of armor to defend them and a sword that can slice the flesh of the infernal. In time more items may be granted to him by MAGI, or perhaps by his weapon itself.
Secondary Power: LARP Skillz: Dermont has no real powers. What he lacks in superpowers, he makes up for with raw experience. He has spent years dodging lightning bolts and arrows, fighting off swarms of sword-wielding knaves as flail-swinging ogres. THey may not have been real but they prepared him for his time in the big show!
Weakness: Worthy of the weapon: Only those deemed worthy by Nothung may use its abilities; to anyone else, it is a regular sword. Should Dermont not be pure of heart or somehow become unworthy as a warrior, he will not be able to use it. Nothung, the sword that grants his power, requires its hero to stand tall against adversity and put the destruction of evil before anything. It expects Dermont to prioritize culling evil over saving lives and to sacrifice himself if necessary. It does not allow its wielder even to entertain thoughts deemed 'impure' either.
-The weapon makes the man: Without his magical tools, Dermont is practically defenseless. He's not a particularly strong human either. Dermont knows this, and so he ties his worth as a hero directly to his weaponry.
-Starstruck: Dermont grew up hearing about these heroes/villains all the time, they are like celebrities to him, and sometimes, when dealing with a big threat, he can't help but geek out. This can be an issue when dealing with dangerous foes, especially as he may still want their autograph.
-Just a human: No super strength, no amazing powers, no predetermined destiny or lineage of heroes. Dermont is your everyday dork, and he breaks easily. Physically or mentally.
Supplementary Powers:

Name: Holy beam Type: Active Rank: ★ Range: Ranged Description: From the tip of his sword, a beam of concentrated light blasts from his sword. This beam deals more damage to a foe based on the darkness in their heart. To a common thug, it might just feel like a punch. To a hardened merc it may feel like a sledgehammer. To a Demon, it may feel like a gunshot. --- Name: Absorbing sheild Type: Active Rank: ★ Range: Melee Description: The shield used by Valiant has the capacity to absorb certain elemental attacks and release them back at their foes. Electrical, purely magical, fire, and ice-based attacks that are successfully blocked can instead be absorbed to blast out later. Only one attack can be absorbed at a time, and only so much energy can be absorbed at once. --- Name: Sanctuary Type: Passive Rank: ★ Range: Melee Description: Valiant's body is cloaked in the magic of Nothung and the armor it creates. This helps alleviate damage from most mundane means. It is by no means a surefire way to save the vessel but most blades fail to cut through his armor. The magic helps give some minor protection from magical attacks. In similar fashion, it just slightly diminishes the damage dealt.
Description: Tall, lean, athletic build honed by years of extreme sports and martial training. Dark hair kept sharp and clean, grey-blue eyes, aristocratic features. Dresses like someone who grew up rich but is trying to look a little more grounded: tailored jackets over casual wear, watches that cost more than a car, but scuffed sneakers he swears are “lucky.”
19 | Gender: Male | Heir / Philanthropist-in-training
Personality:
Victor Malvern carries himself with the polish and poise one would expect of someone raised in wealth and expectation, but beneath the surface lies a young man wound far too tight. His father’s relentless drive for perfection left Victor with a deeply ingrained sense of vigilance; he is constantly measuring, adjusting, preparing for what might come next. Even in moments of calm, there’s an edge to him, as though he’s waiting for something to go wrong.
In combat, Victor is pragmatic and precise. He approaches every situation like a puzzle to be solved, stripping away emotion in favor of efficiency. This makes him appear cold at times, but in truth he’s simply learned to bury hesitation beneath layers of discipline. Out of costume, however, he is still learning how to relax. Years of pressure have left him restless and uncomfortable in downtime, though he makes a conscious effort to ease off and discover who he is beyond his father’s shadow.
Socially, Victor can be reserved, but not unkind. He has a dry wit that slips through when he feels safe enough to share it, often tinged with the gallows humor of someone who has seen too much, too young. Though he tends to hold others at arm’s length, it isn’t from disdain but from habit; letting people close was never something he was taught. For those patient enough to break past his shell, he proves loyal, reliable, and quietly protective, though still haunted by the instinct to second-guess himself.
Background:
Victor Malvern grew up as the only son of a powerful industrial magnate. His father built the Malvern estate on money and corruption, owning both legitimate R&D companies and shadowy contracts with less-than-legal partners. From an early age, Victor’s life was engineered, extreme sports like skiing, skydiving, and base jumping became his playgrounds, martial training and weapons practice his education. It wasn’t enough to succeed; his father demanded mastery.
Over time, Victor became skilled in disciplines most boys his age wouldn’t dream of, especially tactical marksmanship. But it was never his choice, only a performance for a father who saw him as the next perfected Malvern heir.
That future ended the night Victor uncovered proof of his father’s corruption. His confrontation came when his father was already deep in drink, guilt simmering beneath his anger. The argument spiraled, and instead of a violent outburst, his father made a final choice: he ended his own life. It was Victor who found himself standing in the aftermath, shaken, and it was Edmund Hale, his steward, and once a high-ranking officer in Malvern’s private security division, whom Victor called.
Edmund ensured the scene never saw the light of day. The death was reframed, the lawyers cleaned the details, and Victor inherited everything. Where the elder Malvern would have tightened his grip, Victor took a different path. He directed the Malvern estate’s immense resources into legitimate R&D and began using its output to outfit himself for a role his father never could have predicted: as a sanctioned hero.
Now, as Vector, Victor Malvern seeks to use the wealth and skills forced upon him to do something better, not for redemption, but for purpose.
Civilian Skills:
- Master marksman, trained since childhood. - Extreme sports expert (skiing, skydiving, base-jumping, piloting small aircraft). - Wealth management, corporate experience (rudimentary, but improving).
