Alright nice! I'll probably have to double check just how dark that is; but if we're not exceeding canon in terms of darkness then that'll probably be fine for my tastes. You can count me in, excited to see how this goes!
@Uiop No worries.
General plot and guild. Fenix Tear is our guild, it's an independent guild that balances the light/dark aspect, imagine a less brooding Crime Sorciere but Fairy Tail coded.
By definition of general plot, I always make it interconnected within Quests for people to go back reading and ponder. I love my hints and foreshadowing.
General plot is balancing scale, because of our independent nature, we often would serve questionable clients based on the contract we got.
That's all I can reveal for now, and you're right as likewise, we do capture the lighthearted FT canon first and foremost before going darker tones but make no mistake that I keep those dark undertones in plain sight lingering.
Gotta feel the light first before descent ya, as a sign of maturity.
If you're going for a more free-form game without anyone in particular being the GM, you could just agree to play your own villains or ne'er-do-wells, and use the "I write what I want my character to try and do" mechanics whenever you interact with someone else's villains or scumbags. That way, you can all be equally in charge of handling fights or situations.
My immediate plans for after you guys got signed up at the kiosks and joined your Hero Org was just somehting along the lines of:
1. Let everyone go outside into Atlas Park.
2. Set up several small-time events with low-level threats/crimes, like a purse-snatcher, a cat stuck in a tree, some punk kids spray painting in an alley and things of that nature.
3. Let the heroes choose one of the above situations and have them team up or go solo in handliong them.
4. After finishing 3 of these "tiny" quests, they'd get their first "level up".
Not sure I would want to make us all do really trivial heroics. If it's cool with you all I'd like to send us all on a mission, maybe one that sends us in a few groups?
Something fun we could is assign one of the faction kiosks to a player who isn't in that faction. That way we can still to with each other.
@Uiop oh yeah? Like what?
Apologies for the delay, life certainly was.
"Now remember kiddo, it's probably gonna be nerve-wracking and you'll feel as though everyone's watching you. Thing is, no-one's gonna be paying that much attention to the minutia. Your peers are gonna focus on the enrollment and half of them'll be just as, if not more, nervous than you are. As for the staff, well, that'll just be a normal day at the office for em."
"...alright, well, back when I was in your shoes people were watching me, but that's because I used to be a notorious mob enforcer before my, career change. Still have your mother and an alien invasion to thank for that. But that's besides the point, you're already doing much better than I did."
