The revelation that the man stood before him wasn't, in fact, Felix's boyfriend that everyone was suddenly cool with, but in fact Ivanna the loquacious Drag Queen whos very image and demeanor garnered attention. It was wild to Sam to think that such a timid man could be such a killer queen. Then again, it made sense when he thought about the rumors he'd heard of her. Nothing damning, nor crazy so as to activate any form of cancel culture. But now, in this setting…the idea of someone who writes Among Us Fanfic…entire stories around someone disguising themselves as an ally while silently killing others who had trusted them. Perhaps that was why Ivanna/Brendan was so quiet since the death. Maybe they hadn't been mourning, but instead plotting.

Tony was still singing the same tune. Stating he couldn't tell one way or another based on the injuries if this was accidental or murder. And Rhi, well she finally cracked a bit of a smile. Sam laughed nervously as she thanked him. ”No problem. Things felt a little too serious for a second so I figured i should lighten the mood a bit. Especially with what I'm about to say…” He looked at everyone around him, then towards the freshly dug grave, then back at them. ”On my way out to meet you guys in the Foyer I received a message. Only signal I've had all vacation. It was simply a map with a text saying that this “ He gestured around himself. ”Was the last known location of Miguel. I'm hoping that he isn't beneath that fresh plot, but we may want to check it out. Either that, or maybe someone on the inside is trying to help us and has hidden clues or evidence down there…maybe.”

Sam looked back at the plot of dirt, the grave stone above it. It was faded, which would've meant this plot had been here for a while. None of it made sesne. Taking a step closer towards it before stopping just short of where it lay. ”Some weird things have happened since last night, I'm willing to bet this may be tied to it or at least help us get some more answers…but I'm just a paranormal investigator. So if you think I should? I will.”

Rhiannon stared at the grave, thinking the same thing that Sam was before he voiced it out loud. What if that was Miguel’s body in there? If he had been missing all morning, it could be because he was either the killer and hiding, or he was dead and in that grave.

Rhiannon glanced around and spotted shovels. ”Only one way to find out. Unless you want to do some sort of seance,” they said, looking at Sam before passing him to grab a shovel.

They stuck the shovel into the mudded ground and paused a moment. What if there was a dead body under here? Was there any way they could find the killer? And what if there wasn’t a dead body?

Rhiannon glanced at the group of strangers before stealing their resolve and started digging.

Constance didn't like the implications of a fresh grave and another missing nominee. She remembered Miguel being the other one to upset Lawrence last night, and had been the one to break his nose in the first place. Now Renee was dead and Miguel was missing. Why no one was pointing fingers at the misogynistic asshole yet was beyond her. But it seemed they had more pressing matters on hand as Sam spoke up and talked about this 'signal' that he had gotten.

"Wait wait wait, you want to check the grave first rather than the church? You think... that he's... there?" Constance looked at Rhiannon as she started to dig and raised a brow. She had heard some things about the woman before, but nothing like this. Maybe... this was tied to a withdrawal or something. She hadn't looked well since they had met up earlier. She flinched a bit as she heard the shovel hit the sodden earth and start to be set to work.

"...I still say we should check the church." She muttered under her breath as she turned away. She had no desire to see another body today.

Millicent

Location: Château de La Lune
Skills: N/A

Millicent bit her tongue as it would not serve any of them for her to call Sam out. Because, let's face it, he didn't know Brendan and Ivanna were one in the same. Instead, she focused on the conversation. The blackmail was out in the open. Granted, Sam pointed out that the message he received wasn't necessarily blackmail, but more highlighting that someone knew something about him that was a secret. Or Sam was downplaying it, which given his track record was more than likely.

Millicent's eyes wandered to the freshly dug grave. Miguel's disappearance had been on her mind for a bit now. She didn't discount Sam's methods, but it could very likely also be someone, perhaps the blackmailer, perhaps the murderer, perhaps both were leading Sam here, for good or for ill.

On top of that was the information Brendan and her found in connection to Renee. Millicent still didn't trust the others here. Not fully. Because it stood to reason one of them was either responsible for Renee's death or, at the very least, was aiding the person who did. Or they were behind the blackmail. Millicent still believed someone in the La Lune family was responsible. But she would hold on to that for now.

Now, they should find Miguel.

"We can check out the church after. For now, we dig." She grabbed a shovel and started to help. She hoped Sam was wrong. But given everything going on, even if it wasn't Miguel here, chances are there was another shoe meant to be dropped.

Tony listened as the group discussed what to do about the fresh grave. When Sam mentioned that a mysterious phone number had sent him a map claiming that Miguel was in this graveyard, Tony's eyes widened for the briefest of moments before he was able to return to a neutral expression. Someone had contacted Sam too? So Tony wasn't the only one.

Sam's message couldn't have been more different from the one he had received though. Tony's message said to stay quiet about his suspicions, while Sam's was pretty much an open invitation to investigate. He had no idea what to make of that. Were they sent by the same mysterious person, or different people with different goals? Was the person that sent Sam here laying a trap, or did they actually want Miguel to be found? If so, why? Or if it was in fact the same person sending both messages, why were they so different? Did they want to point everyone in different directions so they couldn't effectively work together, or were they being played like fiddles and doing exactly what these people wanted?

Tony's mind was racing, trying to figure out how these puzzle pieces fit together, but there was only one conclusion he was relatively sure of. If Sam had been sent this location right before this meeting, whoever was responsible for everything that was happening might have wanted to steer this meeting - not just Sam - to this graveyard, for any number of reasons. Whatever those reasons were, Tony did not want to act like a marionette on their strings. Whatever sick game the La Lunes were playing at, if the group kept playing by their rules, they would lose.

Realizing he had completely zoned out while all those thoughts ran through his head, Tony blinked and processed what was happening; Rhiannon and Millicent had started digging into the grave, while Constance had turned away, refusing to watch. "Woah woah woah, hold on a minute," he urged. He turned towards Sam before continuing. "We need to talk about this. A random phone number messages you right before this meeting, practically telling you to come here. Did you consider the fact that this could be a trap? That they want you here, maybe even knew you'd lead us all here, and that whatever they want is probably NOT in our best interests? You say maybe someone is trying to help us, and may be giving us clues. Renee is DEAD, and for all we know, Miguel could be too! We can't fucking trust these people!" He was not quite shouting at the end of this rant, but it wasn't far off, either.

Tony took a deep breath, calming his frustration. Now was hardly the time for anger, no matter how much this whole nightmarish situation might warrant it. At a more normal volume that was maybe just a bit forced, he continued, looking around at everyone as he spoke. "The only people we can trust are standing right here, right now. Nobody else, not without evidence that they're not involved in this, like how we've all been blackmailed. As a matter of fact, I have evidence that we should not trust whoever sent you that map. When I got back to my room this morning, I received a message too. It warned me not to talk about my suspicions about Renee's death. Whoever sent it is clearly NOT on our side." He pulled out his phone, opened the text up, and held it out to the group: You know what happened. Keep quiet. He turned back to Sam. "Compare the number to the one that sent yours. If it's the same, then that's proof that us being here, on their terms, is a mistake."

Ivanna (Brendan)

Location: Château de La Lune:
Skills: N/A

Brendan watched as the others all turned back to Ralph, who still looked a little confused. He started talking about how he hadn't seen Miguel recently. Brendan realized he hadn't either. He felt a slight shiver, or was that just that it was cold out? Murder, a missing person, and a grave...no, Brendan would not allow himself to think that horribly.

Then Sam spoke, saying the exact same thing and Brendan's felt anxious. Then Sam added that this was the last known location of Miguel? And a text from a weird number? Brendan glanced over at Millicent. Could that number have been the same person who had texted Renee?

Brendan started towards Millicent and--oh good gods, was she helping to dig? Wasn't she afraid of what was in there? What if it was...? She had more bravery then Brendan did.

Brendan couldn't look away, but was aware that Tony was speaking now too. Saying that this could be a trap...shit, he was right, it could be! He glanced back at Millicent and then the others. He wanted desperatly to get out of there before they all got murdered to death, but he was not going to leave Millicent, for her sake and for his.

He looked back at Tony, who was holding up his phone, showing a text that was telling him to keep quiet. Brendan shivered. He felt cold all the way through now. There was something going on for sure. Someone was was hiding something. Was it nominee? One of the a la lunes? Felix?? He stared at the message. He hoped desperatly that it was not someone here who sent it. If the person threatening Tony to keep quiet saw that he wasn't...Brendan wondered if it was too late to keep telling himself that a mermaid did this. He doubted mermaids had cellphones though.

Brendan looked to Sam as Tony asked Sam if it was the same number sending his text, and Brendan stared at the number trying to remember if it was the one that had texted Renee's phone. Did Millicent still have the phone on her? Could they compare? Maybe best to not do it with all these people around. He wanted to believe it wasn't one of them, that it was one of the rich folks or a supernatural creature, or anyone who wasn't watching, but he was no longer going to going to rely on that thought. It could very well be that one of the people here was some kind of imposter, watching them all and planning on who they wanted to take out next, so Brendan just silently looked at the number trying to memorize it as much as he could to compare it to the one that had texted Renee, when he got the chance.

He turned back towards Millicent. He tried to find the words to ask her if she'd found anything there but couldn't. It was too awful to speak out loud, so instead he quietly just took a step towards her, trying to see for himself.

Ralph

Ralph hesitated to take a shovel, but with so few digging, he felt that if he left it to Rhi and Millicent, it would take forever to find anything. He also didn’t want to just stand there and watch them dig. He needed to do something. So he took a shovel and started to help.

People still argued and discussed, which was fine. In his opinion, you could dig and talk. He did look at Tony’s phone and saw the message. It was strange. A threat. That felt like it fit with the blackmail. But Sam’s message had been a hint. Leading them to this location. He frowned and continued to dig while Sam and Tony compared the phone numbers.

His shovel hit something. It wasn’t dirt. It wasn’t hard like a rock. It moved, but was still firm. He paused. Frozen. Then, Milicent's shovel hit something similar. And Rhi’s. They had found something in the disturbed soil of the grave. He looked up at the others helping dig. He swallowed heavily. They hadn’t been digging long.

Carefully, he moved some of the soil and revealed what his shovel had connected with. It was an arm. Ralph stepped back. He was now shaking and couldn’t bring himself to say anything. He just stared at the arm that had been revealed.

A seance? Sam wasn't exactly a psychic or spiritual medium. He may have had an attachment…maybe…but that didn't have to do with anything he hoped. He wouldn't call using a spiritbox or other hunting equipment a seance however. That was more of a ritual, an art, one he'd never initiated before but has done. He hadn't expected for Rhiannon to immediately start digging, nor that there were shovels around for them. He was about to use his hands before he'd learn the fact, but even then he couldn't help dig after Tony called him out. ”Either way I was going to suggest this location. It has the least amount of technology around and is harder to spy on what we are saying.” He was about to mention the secret tunnels and how he'd hunted here before but then he'd be suspect #1 for Miguel if he'd died.

Millicent joined in the digging party as Sam made his way to Tony to check his phone. He looked Tony straight in the eyes with as much resolve as he had. ”I considered it yes, I also considered there may be someone out there actually trying to help us. The workers are scared of these people and are less likely to speak out loud to us. Hell even the temp ones are worried about some of the other permanent staff. So I trusted my gut and led us here.” Sam fished out his phone and pulled up the text message. The numbers didn't match. ”See? No match. Not the same person, but tell me why yours says you KNOW what happened. What happened Tony?”

It was about then that it seemed everyone's faces fell that were digging. No longer the sound of metal grinding against wet soil as a solid thud could be heard from striking something more dense than a coffin. Sam's expression tightened, his eyes shot daggers at Tony as if to say ‘we'll finish this line of questioning later’ before he made his way over towards the grave. He brushed away more of the soil and revealed that it was in fact Miguel. He started to check for some sign of how he'd died and noticed the dark bruising around Miguel's throat. He couldn't tell if it was hands, a rope, or what. But whatever it was, it was thicker than he expected…or as expected? Would that be the same markings he would've had? Had he stayed long enough for the body to settle, had he not run away, would he have seen the same wounds on him?

Sam left those objects behind, left them in that forbidden place, but that's not how these things worked. That's not how attachments worked. He found himself taking deep breaths, following the instructions of Millicent as he had once before. He found himself wondering if someone else had paid his cost or if this was just a coincidence? More and more he wondered if there was no one else to blame but himself.

The voices of the others faded into the background as Rhiannon dug a hole in the ground. The whole thing was surreal. Rhi came to this island for some grand reward. To prove to themselves and to others that they deserved it. That they were good enough, too. But it was looking more and more like no one would be winning that reward.

Old Rhi would have given up, ran away and joined their crew, but this Rhi felt determined. If only to find answers for Renee and her family.

Thud.

That was a different sound. Rhiannon gently brushed some dirt aside with their shovel, but it was Ralph who revealed an arm, and Sam who revealed the brown, bearded face of Miguel.

”Oh my god….oh my god oh my god oh my god.” Rhiannon dropped the shovel and stumbled back away from the grave. This was insane and way too real.

”What the hell is going on here!?” Rhiannon desperately wanted to smoke, something, anything.

Millicent

Location: Château de La Lune
Skills: N/A

Millicent hadn't expected to find anything. If they did she was willing to bet it was a dead animal, perhaps a long lost beloved pet, or a casket from one of the many family members, or buried treasure. That all would have been fine. Perhaps they would have had a laugh at how silly it was to think that something else was buried here.

And then they saw the arm.

Millicent put down her shovel and was bent over, taking a few deep breaths as she did so. This was different now than Renee. She hadn't known Renee at all. Granted, she didn't wish the girl ill will. She certainly didn't wish her death, but she couldn't rouse any sympathy for someone she didn't know. There was the standard "oh loss of life of someone in general".

But she recognized the arm and she could not, would not bring herself to dig more. This was different now. Miguel was confirmed dead and his body was buried. Which means someone did that in a vain attempt to hide him. And that someone was still on here amongst them.

After taking some more deep breaths she stood up. People were in varying stages of freak out and she couldn't blame them. But it would not serve them to lose it. "Everyone, take some deep breaths, close your eyes, think about your favorite snack food or whatever, do what you need to do to not freak out because we need to be clear-headed about this. Renee's death was different. That could have been an accident, though I am inclined to not believe so. This was not. Someone attempted to hide this which means that person is still here. We are not safe. So get one with whichever deity you believe in because I, for one, am not going out without a fight."

Constance turned to look at Tony as he held out his phone and showed them the message he had been sent. He hadn't mentioned that to her earlier. She was concerned, wanted to address that but then... that thud.

She could feel her chest tighten as she morbidly looked at the grave and saw what they had unveiled. Miguel. She grasped at her chest as her breathing became heavy, and her vision blurred. Why had she looked? Why? This... this was [i]worse[/] than Renee. Miguel was in a grave. She could feel the tears filling up in her eyes as she tried to compose herself.

"Lawrence. I.. it has to be Lawrence. He... he... he got mad at them both last night. Swore that they would pay. Now... here they are. I don't know if he's the one blackmailing us but... it only makes sense that he's the one that hurt them, right?" Constance tried to speak evenly, calmly, her usual perfect self. However, her current state was bleeding through, and there were many gaps between words as she spoke.

She could hear what Millicent was saying, but it didn't matter. She was back to being a little girl again, staring at the big box with her father in it once more. Only this time, her own life might be on the line as well. This weekend was suppose to be a vacation, and now was turning further into horror with ever step they took. Why had someone done this to them? Why was any of this happening?

So Sam was questioning why the message Tony received said he knew what happened; Tony figured someone would. He also confirmed that the numbers didn't match, and seemed to think that proved him right. In Tony's mind, it was obvious that it proved no such thing - it could be the same person using different numbers to cover their tracks, or even if it was different people it was still much more likely that both were metaphorically playing with their food, not trying to help. Tony opened his mouth to start addressing all of those points, when... thud.

Looking over at where they were digging, Tony saw what they'd found. An arm which, after clearing a bit more dirt away, proved to be Miguel. Tony did not freak out at the discovery - he had seen enough lifeless bodies to not be driven to panic, and he'd been half expecting this to happen ever since Miguel's absence was pointed out to him - but Tony certainly wasn't glad the prediction he'd made just moments ago was right. Renee's death could have been an accident, even if Tony had highly doubted that, but this eliminated all doubt. Renee and Miguel had both been murdered. If they aren't careful, everyone still standing here could meet the same fate.

With some effort, Tony managed to avoid glaring at Sam's back as he immediately went to start inspecting the body. It's not like there's a medical professional nearby or anything, he thought grumpily. In the meantime, Millicent talked about not freaking out, and about how this was clearly murder. Not going out without a fight, is she? Maybe someone here truly understood what needed to be done, then. If they could learn to trust each other.

Tony nodded when Millicent finished. "This makes two murders, now. I don't know about all of you, but I won't sit back and let whatever sick game they're playing at continue to unfold. We need to figure out who exactly is involved, in all of this - the blackmail too, not just the killing - and... deal with it. But until we know for sure, we have to be discreet. If they catch on too soon, they will make us regret it."

When Sam was done looking over Miguel, Tony walked over and crouched down to take a look himself. There was major bruising around his neck, which implied that he was strangled to death. Looking more closely, he could just make out that the bruising wasn't quite evenly distributed; there were lines of more severe bruising, with slightly less bruising in between. Almost like... he hovered his hand over it to compare, then nodded to himself. It looked liked it was done by hands, not by rope. Looking over the rest of the body, at first he didn't see anything else of note, no visible wounds, although he wasn't going to look under Miguel's clothes for any more bruising there might have been. But just before he finished, he thought of one more thing. He'd never seen it himself - being a surgeon after all, not a coroner - but he'd heard of it. Tony picked up one of Miguel's hands, and looked closely at his nails. They were covered in dirt, obviously, but under them... he found some dried blood. Miguel had fought for his life.

As Constance spoke, he set the hand down gently and stood up. Part of him wanted to immediately go and comfort her, but the matter at hand was too important to ignore. "If I was forced to guess... he would probably be mine. It looks like Miguel was strangled, and as far as I can tell, he was fighting back. It certainly wasn't an old lady that overpowered him. But we can't be certain yet, and he's definitely not the only person involved. He should be suspected, but we can't afford to miss anything important because we were too focused on what seemed 'obvious', either. Hell, for that matter it could be the guy that took the boat, for all we know. For now, we have to be suspicious of them all."

Brendan got closer to Millicent, trying to figure out what he wanted to say when he stopped it. Words no longer seemed to be able to form for him right bow. There was an arm. A human body that had just been dug up.

Brendan stepped back, who else was dead, what the hell was happening here. Brendan backed up without looking or caring where he was going when he caught a glimpse. The others were still messing around, uncovering the body further and...

Brendan knew that face. Who was it again...

Oh.

Miguel? Was that the name? Brendan felt dizzy again. He was never going to get used to seeing people he knew dead....he shouldn't fucking have to...!

Millicent tried to reassure them, telling them to think of snacks and take a deep breath. Brendan tried but just felt dizzy, reaching out a hand as he felt his knees get to weak to stand

The reveal of Miguel’s face had set Ralph back on his heels. He sort of heard what Millicent told them to do and tried to distract himself. Tried to think of something else. He had seen Renee at the bottom of the stairs. He hadn’t been close to her. Neither physically or really chatted with her. Miguel he had spent time with. Had considered...

He let the thought go. He thought of cotton candy. He thought of that cute raccoon putting it in water to wash it. Damn that was cute. He felt like the cotton candy. Everything slipping away.

The rain seemed to come down harder. The sound of it hitting the tree's leaves was soothing. The air smelled of ozone, not as intensely as it had yesterday, but it still hung in the air. There was wind, but it wasn’t enough to drive the rain sideways. He had seen some intense storms and this wasn’t that bad. He didn’t know what it would be like on the water and wondered if that one La Lune had made it to land. Or if his ship had capsized and they’d all be trapped here. Maybe they were all dead and this was a horrible purgatory. Like some twisted Twilight Zone episode.

Then he was centered again. His heart no longer pounding so hard he couldn’t even hear the others.

”Our best lead is the blackmail. If we can figure out who is doing that we might figure out everything else.” His voice is low. ”What are we going to do with Miguel? If we take him to the house... or should we leave him here until cops show up?”

Sam had to agree with Tony. They couldn't simply point the finger at Lawrence and call it a day. Sure it seemed that he was the most likely to do it based on the two victims, but it didn't make sense. He was a drunkard who got his ass kicked in twice. He would've needed to get some upper hand on both of them to make this work and even then… Renee could've been pushed, sure, but something kept nagging Sam about the way she died; he just didn't know what. Then there was Miguel, strangled as Tony confirmed.

”I won't lie, I have to agree with Tony. If anything, whoever is doing this could be using Lawrence as a Red Herring. Miguel had been snooping around already and if he'd managed to catch the killer in the act then maybe they had to take him out too, and with Lawrence already being most suspect it'd be easy enough to hide. Could also be why he was buried and Renee was left there for all to see, he didn't have time to do both. As for Miguel…i think we should bury him again. Dont let them know we know.” Sam wondered if the La Lune with the boat actually left the island at all or if they were running around unaccounted for instead.

Constance was trying to pull herself together, trying to listen as the others came up with more rational theories and explanations. However, it was hard to fight with the irrational part of her mind, as well as trying to calm herself down as she was facing some of her own personal trauma for the second time that same day. To her, it still made sense. However, Tony and the others were probably correct. It was too easy to point the finger at Lawrence, and call it a day.

She started to take deep breaths, calming herself down even as she kept her back to Miguel. She heard Sam say that they should rebury him and her breathing faltered for a moment. The logic was sound, but to leave him there? In the cold ground while they continued to look around for more clues? It seemed so... cruel. Logical, but cruel.

"So... we follow the blackmail then. Do we know more about it than it was there when we arrived, and each of us had a piece of blackmail when we arrived? Or is that everything we know about it? Does anyone know what Renee or Miguel might have been blackmailed about?" Constance was still shuddering a bit and trying to calm herself down, but it was hard. What was their next move, besides reburying the poor body of Miguel? There was no way she was going to be revealing what they were blackmailing her about.

She realized that she had been clutching her hands tightly and finally let go of them, and felt the rivulets of blood running down her palm. She looked down to see that she had dug her nails in so deeply, and the hid her hands behind her back. No one had to see what she had done.

It seemed the time was up. She wanted to keep the information close to her chest as long as possible, but if they were all about to investigate this thoroughly, she needed to share what she and Brendan found. She looked over at him and nodded, hoping he would be willing to fill in the blanks if she missed anything.

"So me and Brendan looked into Renee a bit. We were hoping to find out what she was being blackmailed with and if that would lead to whoever killed her. We looked at her room and found her phone and a note, most likely from the blackmailer, though I hesitate to use that term." She glanced over to Sam who had admitted before that he felt like he wasn't being blackmailed. Still, whoever it was knew their secrets, regardless of their intention. "The note read "YOUR FATHER IS HERE" along with a DNA test with a 99.99% validity rating. It seems Renee was looking for her biological father and that, if the note is to be believed, he is here."

"This, of course, led us to see who among us here in this estate could be the father. We looked at her phone next and looked at her text messages. Nothing stood out except the most recent ones with one name "Richard" and another saying they "knew what she was looking for". None of us is named Richard unless someone is hiding that, but when I thought about it more there was someone here named Richard. The patriarch of the La Lune family."

"If this is all to be believed, it seems that Richard La Lune is Renee's biological father and she came here looking for him. The rest is only speculation but I imagine no one in the family wants this information getting out. Rich people tend to value reputation a lot. My suspicion has always been on Eleanor, but any of their children or even Richard himself could have figured out what Renee was doing and made it look like an accident."

"The problem is that how the deaths connect to the blackmail. What is the purpose of bringing us here only to share they know some of our secrets and not ask for anything? Perhaps the goal is to make us suspicious of each other to cover-up what they really intend to do. Either way, it seems as of right now it is us versus them."

Millicent picked up her shovel again. "I think we bury Miguel again until we figure this out and then see about getting his remains to his loved ones. If they find out we know then we are in more danger than originally."

Rhiannon paced. They couldn’t believe this was actually happening. They looked over at Miguel a couple of times, shaking their head in disbelief. The rain was really coming down now, and Rhiannon was soaked all the way through. They rested their hands on their head and kept pacing.

”Lawrence might be strong enough, but there’s no way he was smart enough to pull this off,” they declared. He was too hot-headed for something like this. There had to be more than one of them at work to blackmail and murder. Then Millicent spoke up, and Rhi paused their pacing.

The truth of Renee’s identity wasn’t exactly shocking. It was more heartbreaking that she would be killed when she was so close to finding her father. Who may very well have been the filthy rich bastard who sired this family.

”This is all so messed up,” they said. ”I don’t know what Miguel could have been blackmailed for, but I heard a rumour his work was fake. Maybe he was trying to confront whoever and cover it up?” They looked at Sam, the only other ghost hunter here. ”Why don’t you do, like a seance or something,” they said, waving their hand at the dead body being pelted by rain.

Brendan felt anxiety grow in his stomach as Millicent started to talk about what they'd found. He tried to add something and help explain, and, at the same time, also tried to tell her not to talk about it so openly, in the end just making a weird noise very quietly. Probably telling the others was the right thing to do...but if the blackmailer and/or killer was among them, then they now knew that Brendan and Millicent knew and had been snooping around. What if they were both in the group right now, and both after Millicent and Brendan? What if the blackmailer and killer were working together? What if the baddies split up the work and each took out one of them? Brendan was not prepared to fight someone, much less someone who was so much more orginized then he was...which maybe was anyone.
He tried to remember what Millicent said...focus on their favorite foods... He closed his eyes peanut butter mayonnaise pickle sandwich...peanut butter mayonnaise pickle sandwhich....peanut butter mayonnaise pickle sandwich...he took a few deep breaths. He opened his eyes, his gaze landing righ to on Miguel as Millicent picked up her shovel and said something about reburying Miguel.

Brendan felt sick to his stomach, more then he had in awhile. There was a dead body, someone he'd kinda sorta known, so close...he took another deep breath.

"Yes. We can't put ourselves in extra danger..." Brendan trailed off, with a growing worry that they already had.

Tony nodded as, one by one, most of the group agreed that they had to rebury Miguel. It was obviously the only real option, as far as Tony was concerned, but since everyone already agreed he saw no need to say anything. Millicent's new information, on the other hand, was more interesting.

Renee possibly being an unexpected daughter of Richard La Lune would certainly provide multiple possible motives for her death. It would hardly be the first time that a potential beneficiary of a substantial inheritance was conveniently taken out of the picture, or perhaps the evidence of some old infidelity. There could very well be multiple people in that house with potential motives, if they were willing to take extreme measures, and without more clues it would be hard to narrow it down. But in any case, puzzling that out was not Tony's most pressing concern; getting to the bottom of the blackmail was paramount. So if the group thinks the blackmail is their best lead for figuring out who the killer is, then that suited him just fine.

"I agree, figuring out who is involved in blackmailing us is the best way to find who did this," Tony said as he walked away from the open grave, back to Constance's side. "I also agree with Millicent about suspecting Elenore, I've suspected her most of all from the start. I doubt there's much of anything that happens in this place without her knowing about it, so either she's responsible for all of this or she knows and is fine with it. Either way, she's one of them. But who knows who else is involved. It could be only one or two, or it could be the whole damn family. So the question is, how do we narrow it down?"
