@Guardian Angel Haruki Voth has proficiency with playing cards. What stat would be rolled to go alongside that proficiency? I could see charisma, but is it more important to have a good poker face, or to be able to read other people's poker face?

Also, Voth has a deck of playing cards. I would like to state for the record now that they are marked in a manner he is familiar with, as he has owned them for a long time, but he himself did not actually put on the cards.

@Guardian Angel Haruki So your intent is to make any game of cards player a more elongated set of back and forth rolls, with different play styles allowing different stats added to the roll? As opposed to just a single roll off to determine the outcome of a single game.

Also, again; Voth did not mark the cards. They're the same deck he got during the backstory I sent you. They were marked when he got them. He's just had them long enough that he was able to figure out that they're marked. My intention was to state that now, because it wasn't previously stated, before it became relevant.

Would you still like a roll for that, or would you rather set the DC based off some static aspect of Voth? Like his passive perception or insight.

There was no cheating, to his mind, since the deck was face up for both players. He could not be blamed if his opponent chose to not take off the blindfold.

@Guardian Angel Haruki This is less about what's Actually the case, and more just Voth being innately distrusting of others. He is an evil cleric, raised in a society that promotes underhandedness and cruelty, who worships a god that venerates cleverness and caution second only to murder.

And while the rule of hospitality demands a person be a good host, so far as I'm aware it doesn't actually have any clause that disqualifies a person from being obligated to repay a gift in kind.

More over, the rules are currently enforcing themselves. Even if Voth believes Nibs doesn't intend to get a one-up on them, given his experience in the fey wilds so far, to his mind it's always better to err on the side of caution.

Good thing that these items can definitely not be used to harm people. Not entirely sure about Jub's based of the description but the other two so far... well sneakers gonna sneak, and hope Voth doesn't put the bag over anyone's head or put some small creature/being inside that relies on air.
