In the far future of dueling, many styles of dueling have developed, been mastered, come and gone, etc. But today, we here at Cairos Tech Industries are proud to present you with a next generation style of dueling with the virtual landscape. Advanced Duels. Thanks to our cutting edge A.I. technology, we have created an expansive virtual world we refer to as The Terminus. Here we host Advanced Duels within several environments, either based on the many stories of duel monsters or the attributes they represent. Upon first login, you will be given 1 or 2 Duel Partners, duel monsters who will serve as your travel companions. Journey through the virtual world, train your Duel Partners, conquer many dungeons and Duel Bosses, and raise your Duelist Rank to the very top.

We invite you to join us at The Terminus, and hope to see you all here. Get ready to hop on in and Advance Summon!

Character Sheet

Name: Self explanatory. Either their real name and/or username in the virtual world.

Age: Between 18-25

Appearance: A picture with any notable features written down or a paragraph will do.

Bio: Your character’s background. How did they start dueling and what brought them to giving Advance Duels a try.

Playstyle: What is your character’s general strategy when it comes to dueling? Brute force beatdown, calculating plays, or just random bullshit go?

Duel Partner(s): The 1 or 2 duel monsters that your character has chosen. Please discuss with me what your monsters are capable of doing and also keep the levels 4 and below. This will be open for updates to your duel partners, as they will potentially grow into much more powerful monsters.

Support Cards: At the moment, choose 2 Spells and 2 Traps to act as support for yourself or your partners. These can range from equips to boost your monsters, barriers for protection, or means of changing the battlefield to your advantage. This will also be subject to updates for any future cards you obtain.

Misc: Anything that doesn’t fit in the above sections. Battle themes, fun facts, etc.

Here it is folks, the beginning of a new adventure. I am currently making a Discord server for those who are interested. If you have anymore questions, don’t hesitate to ask :)

Eternia
(username)

Real Name: Shai Gillespie
Age: 18

Bio: Shai was born to a wealthy family, and she had a fairly happy childhood. Always pampered by her parents, she was usually able to get anything she wanted. The family manor really felt like a castle - she had all the space she wanted to play and imagine, although her friends were seldom allowed to visit there. Tragically, her mother passed from a terminal illness when she was at the formative age of thirteen. That shattered her emotionally, and although she eventually recovered, she was never again the bright and happy child she once had been.

She had never been particularly social, thanks to her family's protectiveness. But after the death of her mother she became a true shut-in, isolating herself practically all the time. Her father is still alive, but he's often absent due to mounting responsibilities at work. He is unable to put any pressure on his daughter to change, especially now that her personality has grown somewhat more pointed.

The young woman has spent years engaging with escapist fantasies and games. She has good looks by nature, but doesn't take proper care of herself most of the time. She's a bit out of shape and has alarming dark circles under her eyes from one too many all-nighters. She is often moody, and has developed a certain fixation on the occult. She has nice clothes, generally all black with silver jewelry - striking a definite goth aesthetic.

Duel Monsters was just one of the games she played, but she was drawn to the demons and dark forces depicted within, feeling a certain kinship with them. Defeating her opponents and outplaying their strategies made her feel a certain eager giddiness that was better than her usual emptiness. When the advanced duel system was announced, she made some calls, and was one of the first customers on their list. Now nearly everything is set up, and she's given strict instructions to the house staff that she not be disturbed while she is playing.

Playstyle: Eternia employs more of a "control" playstyle. Rather than overpowering her opponents with raw strength, she uses the powers of darkness to mitigate threats and turn her opponent's own effects against them.

Character Sheet

Name: Blake Hart

Username: HaloHart

Age: 21

Appearance: Blake is good-looking in a very put-together way. He has blond hair, fair skin, and a soft kind of prettiness that makes people underestimate him. He dresses well, likes pink, and clearly puts effort into how he presents himself. Even in a game built around monsters and combat, he somehow still looks polished.

Bio: Blake got into dueling just like every other kid. It was trendy. Blake gravitated towards the cute and pretty monsters than the usual dragons and giant beaters everyone else thought were cool. He just liked that kind of card more, and he never really saw a reason to pretend otherwise.

He comes from a wealthy family, so he grew up with a lot of nice things and a lot of expectations. Blake was raised to be polished, presentable, and hard to embarrass. His parents weren’t cruel or anything, but they definitely cared more about appearances than feelings, and dueling was never something they took all that seriously. At best, it was a hobby. At worst, it was one more thing Blake was expected to grow out of.

He didn’t.

A lot of people underestimated him early on, both because of the way he looked and because of the kind of deck he ran. Blake learned pretty quickly that a deck full of cute Fairy monsters made people assume he’d be easy to crush. So he got good. He built his whole style around surviving pressure, controlling the pace of a duel, and letting other people make idiots of themselves.

When Cairos Tech announced Advanced Duels, Blake was interested immediately. The idea of entering a virtual world and actually traveling with Duel Monsters sounded way more exciting than normal dueling ever did. More than that, it felt like the perfect chance to take the kind of monsters people always brushed off and prove they could go just as far as anything bigger or uglier.

Playstyle: Blake plays defensively and counts on people underestimating him. He’s patient, hard to rush, and really good at dragging opponents into longer duels where they start making mistakes. His deck isn’t built to overpower people right away. It’s built to survive, annoy, and punish.

Duel Partner(s):

Dunames Dark Witch

Strong against LIGHT and DARK monsters, gaining a small stat boost when facing them.

Petit Angel

Able to dodge one attack once every 3 turns.

Support Cards:

Cestus of Dagla

Sanctuary in the Sky

Solemn Judgement

Divine Punishment

Misc: He’s gay!

Aaaaaand done! Please let me know if any of the random dice effects need tweaking. I tuned up how much attack / defense Graceful / Skill dice give or take away but also made them only work on one monster.

If I run with say... Eria the Water Charmer as a partner, does she come with Gigobyte by extension or do I need Gigobyte as a seperate unit? (Might do Eria + Wynn or Lyna + Dharc).

EDIT: Apparently I might have one too many ideas in my head. I think I'd love to share them. I also have some questions.
